1 Glücklich sind die Menschen, die ihr Leben aufrichtig leben, die das Gesetz des HERRN befolgen. (Spr 11,20; Spr 13,6) 2 Glücklich sind die, die sich an seine Weisungen halten und ihn von ganzem Herzen suchen. (5Mo 4,29; 5Mo 10,12; 5Mo 11,13; 5Mo 30,2) 3 Sie tun nichts Böses, sondern gehen auf den Wegen Gottes. 4 Du hast uns befohlen, deine Gebote mit Freude zu halten. (5Mo 4,13) 5 Ich möchte alles, was ich tue, stets nach deinen Ordnungen ausrichten. (2Chr 7,17; Spr 4,26) 6 Ich brauche mich nicht zu schämen, wenn ich alle deine Gebote beachte. 7 Wenn ich mir deine gerechten Gesetze tief einpräge, will ich dir von ganzem Herzen danken! 8 Ich will mich an deine Ordnungen halten. Verlass mich bitte nicht! (Ps 71,9) 9 Wie kann ein junger Mensch in seinem Leben rein von Schuld bleiben? Indem er sich an dein Wort hält und es befolgt. (1Kön 8,25; 2Chr 6,16) 10 Ich habe dich von ganzem Herzen gesucht, nun lass mich nicht von deinen Geboten abirren. 11 Ich habe dein Wort in meinem Herzen bewahrt, damit ich nicht gegen dich sündige. (Lk 2,19) 12 Ich will dich loben, HERR, lehre mich deine Ordnungen. 13 Alle deine Gesetze, die du uns gegeben hast, sage ich laut auf. (Ps 40,10) 14 An deinen Weisungen habe ich mehr Freude als an großem Reichtum. 15 Ich will über deine Gebote nachdenken und mich an deine Wege halten. (Jes 58,2) 16 Ich will mich an deinen Ordnungen freuen und dein Wort nicht vergessen. 17 Sei gut zu deinem Diener, damit ich lebe und deinem Wort gehorche. 18 Öffne mir die Augen, damit ich die herrlichen Wahrheiten in deinem Gesetz erkenne. 19 Ich bin nur ein Fremder hier auf der Erde. Verbirg deine Gebote nicht vor mir! (1Chr 29,15; Hebr 11,13) 20 Die ganze Zeit sehne ich mich von ganzem Herzen nach deinen Gesetzen. (Ps 42,2) 21 Du bestrafst die Selbstgerechten, die von deinen Geboten abirren. (5Mo 27,26; Ps 37,22) 22 Lass nicht zu, dass sie mich verhöhnen und beleidigen, denn ich halte mich an deine Weisungen. 23 Selbst Fürsten sitzen da und sprechen gegen mich, doch dein Diener denkt nach über deine Ordnungen. 24 Ich habe Freude an deinen Weisungen, denn sie sind mir gute Ratgeber. 25 Ich bin entmutigt und verzweifelt, erneuere mich durch dein Wort. (Ps 44,26) 26 Ich habe dir meine Pläne erzählt, und du hast geantwortet. Nun lehre mich deine Ordnungen. 27 Hilf mir, die Bedeutung deiner Gebote zu begreifen, und ich will über deine wunderbaren Werke nachdenken. 28 Vor Kummer weine ich; ermutige mich durch dein Wort. (Ps 22,15; 1Petr 5,10) 29 Bewahre mich davor, zu lügen und zu betrügen, und lehre mich in deiner Güte dein Gesetz. 30 Ich habe mich entschlossen, treu zu sein, ich habe mich entschieden, nach deinen Gesetzen zu leben. 31 Ich halte fest an deinen Weisungen. HERR, lass mich nicht zum Spott werden! (5Mo 11,22) 32 Deine Gebote sind der Weg, auf dem ich laufe, denn durch dich geht mir das Herz auf. 33 Lehre mich, HERR, nach deinen Ordnungen zu leben. (1Chr 22,12; Hes 44,24) 34 Schenk mir Einsicht, und ich will deinem Gesetz gehorchen, ich will es von ganzem Herzen halten. 35 Hilf mir nach deinen Geboten zu leben, denn das erfüllt mich mit Freude. (Ps 25,4; Ps 112,1) 36 Lass mich deine Weisungen lieben und mach mich frei von Habgier! (Lk 12,15; Hebr 13,5) 37 Wende meine Augen von nutzlosen Dingen ab, lass mich durch dein Wort[1] leben. (Ps 71,20; Jes 33,15) 38 Erfülle deinem Diener deine Zusage, die denen gilt, die dir gehorchen. (2Sam 7,25) 39 Lass nicht zu, dass man mich verlacht, denn deine Gesetze sind gut. 40 Ich sehne mich danach, deinen Geboten zu gehorchen! Erneuere mein Leben durch deine Güte. 41 HERR, sei mir gnädig und rette mich, wie du es mir versprochen hast. 42 Dann kann ich dem antworten, der mich verspottet, denn ich vertraue auf dein Wort. 43 Entziehe mir nicht das Wort deiner Wahrheit, denn deine Gesetze sind meine einzige Hoffnung. 44 Ich will niemals aufhören, deinem Gesetz zu gehorchen. (Apg 26,1) 45 Ich habe viel freien Raum zu leben, wenn ich mein Leben nach deinen Geboten ausrichte. 46 Vor Königen will ich deine Weisungen bezeugen und mich nicht schämen. (Mt 10,18; Apg 26,1) 47 Wie freue ich mich an deinen Geboten, die ich so sehr liebe! 48 Ich verehre und liebe deine Gebote, ich denke über deine Ordnungen nach. 49 Denke an dein Versprechen, das du mir gegeben hast, denn es ist meine einzige Hoffnung. 50 Dein Versprechen schenkt mir neuen Lebensmut, es tröstet mich in allem Kummer. (Röm 15,14) 51 Die hochmütigen Menschen verachten mich, doch ich weiche nicht ab von deinem Gesetz. (Hi 23,11; Jer 20,7) 52 Wenn ich über deine Gesetze nachdenke, die seit ewigen Zeiten gelten, werde ich getröstet, HERR. (Ps 103,18) 53 Ich bin zornig über die Gottlosen, die dein Gesetz ablehnen. (2Mo 32,19; Neh 13,25) 54 Deine Ordnungen waren die Lieder meines Lebens in den vielen Jahren meiner Pilgerschaft. 55 Nachts denke ich über dich nach, HERR, damit ich dein Gesetz halte. (Ps 42,9; Ps 63,7; Ps 92,3; Apg 16,25) 56 Das ist das Glück meines Lebens: deine Gebote zu halten. 57 HERR, du bist mein! Ich verspreche, deinem Wort zu gehorchen! (5Mo 33,9; Ps 16,5) 58 Von ganzem Herzen suche ich deine Güte. Sei mir gnädig, wie du es versprochen hast. (Ps 41,5) 59 Ich habe über mein Leben nachgedacht und kehrte wieder um zu deinen Weisungen. (Mk 14,72; Lk 15,17) 60 Ich will sogleich und ohne zu zögern deinen Geboten folgen. 61 Gottlose Menschen wollen mich zur Sünde verführen, doch ich bin fest in deinem Gesetz verwurzelt. (Ps 140,6) 62 Um Mitternacht stehe ich auf, um dir für deine gerechten Gesetze zu danken. 63 Jeder, der dich achtet und ehrt, ist mein Freund – jeder, der deinen Geboten gehorcht. (Ps 101,6) 64 HERR, die Erde ist erfüllt von deiner Gnade; lehre mich deine Ordnungen. (Ps 33,5) 65 Du hast viel Gutes für mich getan, HERR, wie du es mir versprochen hast. 66 Klugheit und Erkenntnis schenke mir, denn ich vertraue deinen Geboten. (Phil 1,9) 67 Immer wieder bin ich falsche Wege gegangen, bis du mich bestraft hast; doch jetzt halte ich mich an dein Wort. (Jer 31,18; Hebr 12,5) 68 Du bist gut und handelst gut; lehre mich deine Ordnungen. (Ps 86,5; Ps 125,4) 69 Hochmütige Menschen haben Lügen über mich verbreitet, doch ich gehorche deinen Geboten von ganzem Herzen. 70 Ihre Herzen sind hart geworden, ich dagegen freue mich an deinem Gesetz. (Ps 17,11; Jes 6,10; Jer 5,28) 71 Es war gut für mich, dass ich leiden musste, damit ich lernte, deine Ordnungen zu beachten. 72 Dein Gesetz ist mir wertvoller als Tausende Gold- und Silberstücke! (Spr 8,10) 73 Du hast mich gemacht und mich geschaffen. Nun schenke mir auch Einsicht, deine Gebote zu befolgen. (Hi 31,15; Ps 139,15) 74 Alle, die dich fürchten, werden mich sehen und sich freuen, denn ich habe meine Hoffnung auf dein Wort gesetzt. (Ps 35,27) 75 Ich weiß, HERR, dass deine Entscheidungen gerecht sind; aus Güte hast du mich bestraft. (Hebr 12,10) 76 Tröste mich durch deine Gnade, wie du es deinem Diener versprochen hast. 77 Umgib mich mit deinem Erbarmen, damit ich wieder leben kann, denn dein Gesetz ist meine Freude. 78 Lass die stolzen Menschen zugrunde gehen, die Lügen über mich verbreitet haben, ich aber will über deine Gebote nachdenken. (Jer 50,32) 79 Versöhne mich mit allen, die dich fürchten und deine Weisungen kennen. 80 Ich möchte mich an deine Ordnungen halten, damit ich nicht zugrunde gehe. 81 Ich warte sehnsuchtsvoll auf deine Rettung, auf dein Wort hoffe ich. 82 Meine Augen sehnen sich danach, dass deine Zusagen wahr werden. Wann wirst du mich trösten? (Jes 38,14; Kla 2,11) 83 Ich bin ausgetrocknet wie ein Weinschlauch im Rauch, doch ich halte an deinen Ordnungen fest und gehorche ihnen. 84 Wie lange soll ich noch warten? Wann wirst du meine Verfolger bestrafen? (Offb 6,10) 85 Diese selbstgerechten Menschen haben mir eine Grube gegraben, sie, die nicht nach deinem Gesetz leben. (Ps 35,19; Ps 57,7; Jer 18,22) 86 Alle deine Gebote sind zuverlässig. Beschütze mich vor denen, die mich grundlos verfolgen. 87 Fast hätten sie mich auf Erden getötet, doch ich habe deine Gebote nicht aufgegeben. 88 Erhalte mein Leben und sei mir gnädig, dann kann ich deinen Weisungen weiterhin gehorchen. 89 Für alle Zeit, HERR, hat dein Wort im Himmel Bestand. (Jes 40,8; Mt 24,35; 1Petr 1,25) 90 Deine Treue gilt in alle Zukunft: Du hast ja die Erde so geschaffen, dass sie Bestand hat. (Ps 89,2; Ps 148,6) 91 Deine Ordnungen gelten auch heute noch, denn am Ende muss alles dir dienen. (Jer 31,35) 92 Ohne die Freude an deinem Gesetz wäre ich verzweifelt in meinem Elend. 93 Ich will deine Gebote niemals vergessen, denn durch sie hast du mir neu Glück und Gesundheit geschenkt. 94 Ich bin dein, rette mich! Denn ich richte mein Leben nach deinen Geboten aus. 95 Obwohl die Bösen mir auflauerten, um mich zu töten, halte ich mich an deine Weisungen. (Ps 40,15; Jes 32,7) 96 Ich habe gesehen, dass selbst das Vollkommene vergeht, doch deine Gebote gelten für immer. 97 Wie sehr liebe ich dein Gesetz! Den ganzen Tag denke ich darüber nach. 98 Durch deine Gebote bin ich meinen Feinden überlegen, denn sie sind mein ständiger Begleiter. (5Mo 4,6) 99 Ich habe größere Erkenntnis als meine Lehrer, denn ich denke unablässig über deine Ratschlüsse nach. 100 Ich bin klüger als die Alten, denn ich habe deine Gebote befolgt. (Hi 32,7) 101 Ich habe mich geweigert, böse Wege zu gehen, damit ich deinem Wort gehorsam bleibe. 102 Ich habe deine Gesetze nicht aufgegeben, denn du warst mir ein guter Lehrer. (5Mo 17,20; Jos 23,6) 103 Wie süß schmecken mir deine Worte, sie sind süßer als Honig. (Ps 19,11) 104 Deine Gebote machen mich einsichtig, deshalb hasse ich alle falschen Wege. 105 Dein Wort ist eine Leuchte für meinen Fuß und ein Licht auf meinem Weg. 106 Ich habe es schon einmal geschworen und will es auch halten: Deinen wunderbaren Gesetzen will ich gehorchen. 107 Ich bin sehr verzweifelt, HERR, mach mein Leben wieder heil, wie du es versprochen hast! 108 HERR, nimm meinen Dank an und lehre mich deine Gesetze. (Hos 14,3; Hebr 13,15) 109 Mein Leben ist ständig in Gefahr, doch dein Gesetz vergesse ich nicht. 110 Die Bösen haben mir eine Falle gestellt, doch ich lasse mich nicht von deinen Geboten abbringen. (Ps 91,3; Ps 140,6) 111 Deine Weisungen sind mein Schatz, sie erfüllen mein Herz mit Freude. (5Mo 33,4) 112 Ich bin entschlossen, mich an deine Ordnungen zu halten bis ans Ende meines Lebens. 113 Ich hasse die, die an dir zweifeln, denn ich liebe dein Gesetz. (1Kön 18,21; Jak 1,8; Jak 4,8) 114 Du bist meine Zuflucht und mein Schutz, dein Wort ist meine einzige Hoffnung. (Ps 31,21; Ps 61,5) 115 Verschwindet aus meinem Leben, ihr gottlosen Menschen, denn ich will den Geboten meines Gottes gehorchen. (Ps 6,9; Ps 139,19; Mt 7,23) 116 Gib mir Halt, wie du es versprochen hast, damit ich lebe! Lass nicht zu, dass meine Hoffnung vergeblich ist. (Ps 25,2; Ps 31,2; Röm 5,5; Röm 9,33; Phil 1,20) 117 Erhalte mich, dann werde ich gerettet, und ich will deine Ordnungen immer in meinem Herzen bewegen. (Ps 12,6; Spr 29,25) 118 Du lehnst alle ab, die sich von deinen Ordnungen abwenden, denn sie halten sich nur selbst zum Narren[2]. 119 Die Bösen auf Erden sind wie Abfall, den du wegwirfst, deshalb liebe ich deine Weisungen! (Jes 1,22; Hes 22,18) 120 Ich zittere vor Furcht vor dir und vor deinem Urteil fürchte ich mich. (Hi 4,14; Hab 3,16) 121 Liefere mich nicht meinen Gegnern aus, denn ich tat nur, was recht und gerecht ist. (2Sam 8,15; Hi 29,14) 122 Tritt für deinen Diener ein und schenk ihm deinen Segen, damit die selbstgerechten Menschen mich nicht unterdrücken. 123 Meine Augen sehnen sich danach, dein Heil zu sehen und das Wort deiner Gerechtigkeit. 124 Dir diene ich, deshalb sei mir gnädig und lehre mich, deine Ordnungen zu verstehen. (Ps 51,3; Ps 106,45; Ps 109,26) 125 Gib mir Weisheit, damit ich deine Weisungen begreife. 126 HERR, es wird Zeit, dass du eingreifst, denn sie haben dein Gesetz gebrochen. (Jer 18,23; Hes 31,11) 127 Ich liebe deine Gebote von ganzem Herzen, sie sind mir wertvoller als das kostbarste Gold. 128 Jedes deiner Gebote ist wirklich gerecht, deshalb hasse ich alle Falschheit. (Ps 19,9) 129 Deine Weisungen sind wunderbar, deshalb halte ich sie! 130 Wenn deine Worte gelehrt werden, geben sie Erleuchtung. Unerfahrene Menschen können sie verstehen. (Spr 6,23) 131 Ich öffne erwartungsvoll meinen Mund, denn ich sehne mich nach deinen Geboten. 132 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig, wie du zu denen bist, die deinen Namen lieben. 133 Leite meine Schritte sicher durch dein Wort. Lass nicht zu, dass ich vom Bösen überwältigt werde. (Ps 19,14) 134 Rette mich vor den bösen Menschen, die mich unterdrücken, dann will ich deinen Geboten gehorchen. (Ps 142,7) 135 Blicke mich voll Liebe an und lehre mich alle deine Gebote. (4Mo 6,25; Ps 67,2) 136 Tränen strömen aus meinen Augen, weil die Menschen deinem Gesetz nicht gehorchen. (Jer 8,23; Jer 9,1; Kla 3,48) 137 HERR, du bist gerecht, und deine Urteile sind richtig. (Esr 9,15; Jer 12,1; Dan 9,7) 138 Deine Weisungen sind vollkommen; sie bezeugen deine große Treue. 139 Ich bin außer mir vor Zorn, denn meine Feinde haben deine Worte missachtet. (Ps 69,10) 140 Deine Zusagen sind wahr, deshalb liebe ich sie so sehr. (Ps 12,7) 141 Ich bin gering und verachtet, doch ich vergesse deine Gebote nicht. (Ps 22,7) 142 Deine Gerechtigkeit bleibt für alle Zeit bestehen, und dein Gesetz ist vollkommen wahr. 143 Wenn Angst und Sorgen mich treffen, dann habe ich doch Freude an deinen Geboten. 144 Deine Weisungen sind immer gerecht; hilf mir, sie zu verstehen, damit ich leben kann. (Ps 19,10) 145 Ich bete von ganzem Herzen: Erhöre mich, HERR! Ich will mich an deine Ordnungen halten. 146 Ich rufe zu dir: Rette mich, ich will deinen Weisungen gehorchen. (Ps 3,8) 147 Früh am Morgen stehe ich auf und rufe zu dir um Hilfe, denn ich setze meine Hoffnung auf dein Wort. (Ps 108,3) 148 Nachts liege ich wach und denke über dein Wort nach. 149 Höre mein Flehen, HERR, und sei mir gnädig, rette mein Leben durch deine gerechten Gebote. 150 Gesetzlose Menschen verfolgen mich; sie führen ein Leben fern von deinem Gesetz. 151 Doch du, HERR, bist nahe, und alle deine Gebote sind wahr. (Ps 34,19; Jes 50,8) 152 Ich habe von Anfang an gewusst, dass deine Weisungen für alle Zeiten gelten. (Lk 21,33) 153 Sieh meine Not an und rette mich, denn ich habe dein Gesetz nicht vergessen. 154 Tritt für mich ein und stell dich auf meine Seite! Beschütze mein Leben, wie du es versprochen hast. (Ps 35,1; Mi 7,9) 155 Die Gottlosen dürfen nicht auf Rettung hoffen, denn sie halten sich nicht an deine Ordnungen. 156 HERR, wie groß ist deine Barmherzigkeit; erneuere mein Leben durch deine gerechten Gebote. (2Sam 24,14) 157 Viele verfolgen und bedrängen mich, doch ich bin nicht von deinen Weisungen abgewichen. 158 Ich hasse diese Verräter, weil sie dein Wort nicht halten. (Ps 139,21) 159 Ich liebe deine Gebote, HERR. Erbarme dich und erneuere mein Leben. 160 Alle deine Worte sind wahr, alle deine gerechten Gesetze haben ewig Bestand. 161 Mächtige Fürsten verfolgen mich ohne Grund, doch mein Herz zittert nur vor deinem Wort. 162 Ich freue mich über dein Wort wie jemand, der einen großen Schatz findet. (1Sam 30,16; Jes 9,2) 163 Lüge hasse und verabscheue ich, aber dein Gesetz liebe ich. (Ps 31,7; Spr 13,5) 164 Ich will dich siebenmal am Tag preisen, weil alle deine Gesetze gerecht sind. 165 Die dein Gesetz lieben, haben großen Frieden, sie werden nicht zu Fall kommen. (Spr 3,23; 1Joh 2,10) 166 Ich hoffe auf deine Rettung, HERR, denn deine Gebote habe ich erfüllt. (1Mo 49,18) 167 Ich habe nach deinen Weisungen gehandelt, und ich liebe sie sehr. 168 Ja, ich gehorche deinen Geboten und Weisungen, weil du alles weißt, was ich tue. (Ps 139,3; Spr 5,21) 169 Höre mein Flehen, HERR; lass es mich begreifen, wie du es mir versprochen hast. (Ps 18,7) 170 Erhöre mein Gebet und rette mich, wie du es mir versprochen hast. (Ps 22,21; Ps 31,3; Ps 140,7) 171 Meine Lippen sollen dich loben, denn du lehrst mich deine Ordnungen. (Jes 2,3; Mi 4,2) 172 Von deinem Wort will ich singen, denn alle deine Gebote sind gerecht. (Ps 51,16) 173 Steh mir hilfreich zur Seite, denn ich habe mich entschieden, deine Gebote zu halten. (Jos 24,22; Ps 37,24) 174 HERR, nach deiner Rettung sehne ich mich, dein Gesetz ist meine Freude. 175 Erhalte mich am Leben, damit ich dich preisen kann; und deine Gesetze sollen mir dabei helfen. (Jes 55,3) 176 Ich habe mich verirrt wie ein verlorenes Schaf; suche und finde mich, denn ich habe deine Gebote nicht vergessen. (Jes 53,6; Lk 15,4)

1 Blessed are those who live without blame. They live in keeping with the law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are those who obey his covenant laws. They trust in him with all their hearts. 3 They don’t do anything wrong. They live as he wants them to live. 4 You have given me rules that I must obey completely. 5 I hope I will always stand firm in following your orders. 6 Then I won’t be put to shame when I think about all your commands. 7 I will praise you with an honest heart as I learn about how fair your decisions are. 8 I will obey your orders. Please don’t leave me all alone. 9 How can a young person keep their life pure? By living according to your word. 10 I trust in you with all my heart. Don’t let me wander away from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you. 12 LORD, I give praise to you. Teach me your orders. 13 With my lips I talk about all the decisions you have made. 14 Following your covenant laws gives me joy just as great riches give joy to others. 15 I spend time thinking about your rules. I consider how you want me to live. 16 I take delight in your orders. I won’t fail to obey your word. 17 Be good to me while I am alive. Do this so that I may obey your word. 18 Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths in your law. 19 I’m a stranger on earth. Don’t hide your commands from me. 20 My heart is filled with longing for your laws at all times. 21 You correct proud people. They are under your curse. They wander away from your commands. 22 I obey your covenant laws. So don’t let evil people laugh at me or hate me. 23 Even if rulers sit together and tell lies about me, I will spend time thinking about your orders. 24 Your covenant laws are my delight. They give me wise advice. 25 I lie in the dust. I’m about to die. Keep me alive as you have promised. 26 I told you how I’ve lived, and you gave me your answer. Teach me your orders. 27 Help me understand how your rules direct me to live. Then I may think deeply about the wonderful things you have done. 28 My sadness has worn me out. Give me strength as you have promised. 29 Keep me from cheating and telling lies. Be kind to me and teach me your law. 30 I have chosen to be faithful to you. I put my trust in your laws. 31 LORD, I’m careful to obey your covenant laws. Don’t let me be put to shame. 32 I am quick to follow your commands, because you have added to my understanding. 33 LORD, teach me how your orders direct me to live. Then I will live that way to the very end. 34 Help me understand your law so that I may follow it. I will obey it with all my heart. 35 Teach me to live as you command, because that makes me very happy. 36 Make me want to follow your covenant laws instead of wanting to gain things only for myself. 37 Turn my eyes away from things that are worthless. Keep me alive as you have promised. 38 Keep your promise to me. Then other people will have respect for you. 39 Please don’t let me be put to shame. Your laws are good. 40 I really want to follow your rules. Keep me alive, because you do what is right. 41 LORD, show me your faithful love. Save me as you have promised. 42 Then I can answer anyone who makes fun of me, because I trust in your word. 43 Help me always to tell the truth about how faithful you are. I have put my hope in your laws. 44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. 45 I will lead a full and happy life, because I’ve tried to obey your rules. 46 I will talk about your covenant laws to kings. I will not be put to shame. 47 I take delight in obeying your commands because I love them. 48 I reach out for your commands that I love. I do this so that I may think deeply about your orders. 49 Remember what you have said to me. You have given me hope. 50 Even when I suffer, I am comforted because you promised to keep me alive. 51 Proud people make fun of me without mercy. But I don’t turn away from your law. 52 LORD, I remember the laws you gave long ago. I find comfort in them. 53 I am very angry because evil people have turned away from your law. 54 No matter where I live, I sing about your orders. 55 LORD, during the night I remember who you are. That’s why I keep your law. 56 I have really done my best to obey your rules. 57 LORD, you are everything I need. I have promised to obey your words. 58 I have looked to you with all my heart. Be kind to me as you have promised. 59 I have thought about the way I live. And I have decided to follow your covenant laws. 60 I won’t waste any time. I will be quick to obey your commands. 61 Evil people may tie me up with ropes. But I won’t forget to obey your law. 62 At midnight I get up to give you thanks because your decisions are very fair. 63 I’m a friend to everyone who has respect for you. I’m a friend to everyone who follows your rules. 64 LORD, the earth is filled with your love. Teach me your orders. 65 LORD, be good to me as you have promised. 66 Increase my knowledge and give me good sense, because I trust your commands. 67 Before I went through suffering, I went down the wrong path. But now I obey your word. 68 You are good, and what you do is good. Teach me your orders. 69 The lies of proud people have taken away my good name. But I follow your rules with all my heart. 70 Their unfeeling hearts are hard and stubborn. But I take delight in your law. 71 It was good for me to suffer. That’s what helped me to understand your orders. 72 The law you gave is worth more to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold. 73 You made me and formed me with your own hands. Give me understanding so that I can learn your commands. 74 May those who have respect for you be filled with joy when they see me. I have put my hope in your word. 75 LORD, I know that your laws are right. You were faithful to your promise when you made me suffer. 76 May your faithful love comfort me as you have promised me. 77 Show me your tender love so that I can live. I take delight in your law. 78 May proud people be put to shame for treating me badly for no reason. I will think deeply about your rules. 79 May those who have respect for you come to me. They dig pits for me to fall into. 86 All your commands can be trusted. Help me, because people attack me without any reason. 87 They almost wiped me off the face of the earth. But I have not turned away from your rules. 88 Keep me alive, because of your faithful love. Do this so that I may obey the covenant laws you have given. 89 LORD, your word lasts for ever. It stands firm in the heavens. 90 You will be faithful for all time to come. You made the earth, and it continues to exist. 91 Your laws continue to this very day, because all things serve you. 92 If I had not taken delight in your law, I would have died because of my suffering. 93 I will never forget your rules. They are sweeter than honey to me. 104 I gain understanding from your rules. So I hate every path that sinners take. 105 Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me. 106 I have made a promise to follow your laws, because they are right. 107 I have suffered very much. LORD, keep me alive as you have promised. 108 LORD, accept the praise I freely give you. Teach me your laws. 109 I keep putting my life in danger. But I won’t forget to obey your law. 110 Evil people have set a trap for me. But I haven’t wandered away from your rules. 111 Your covenant laws are your gift to me for ever. They fill my heart with joy. 112 I have decided to obey your orders to the very end. 113 I hate people who can’t make up their minds. But I love your law. 114 You are my place of safety. You are like a shield that keeps me safe. I have put my hope in your word. 115 Get away from me, you who do evil! Then I can do what my God commands me to do. 116 My God, keep me going as you have promised. Then I shall live. Don’t let me lose all hope. 117 Take good care of me, and I shall be saved. So I love your covenant laws. 120 My body trembles because I have respect for you. I have great respect for your laws. 121 I have done what is right and fair. So don’t leave me to those who treat me badly. 122 Make sure that everything goes well with me. Don’t let proud people treat me badly. 123 My eyes grow tired as I look to you to save me. Please save me as you have promised. 124 Be good to me, because you love me. Teach me your orders. 125 I serve you, so help me to understand what is right. Then I will understand your covenant laws. 126 LORD, it’s time for you to act. People are breaking your law. 127 I love your commands more than gold. I love them more than pure gold. 128 I consider all your rules to be right. So I hate every path that sinners take. 129 Your covenant laws are wonderful. So I obey them. 130 When your words are made clear, they bring light. They bring understanding to childish people. 131 I open my mouth and pant like a dog, because I long to know your commands. 132 Turn to me and have mercy on me. LORD, keep me alive as you have promised. 150 Those who think up evil plans are near. They have wandered far away from your law. 151 But LORD, you are near. Save me, because I haven’t forgotten to obey your law. 154 Stand up for me and set me free. Keep me alive as you have promised. 155 Those who are evil are far from being saved. They don’t want to obey your orders. 156 LORD, you have deep concern for me. Keep me alive as you have promised. 157 Many enemies attack me. But I haven’t turned away from your covenant laws. 158 I get very angry when I see people who aren’t faithful to you. They don’t obey your word. 159 See how I love your rules! LORD, keep me alive, because you love me. 160 All your words are true. All your laws are right. They last for ever. 161 Rulers attack me for no reason. But I tremble because of your word. 162 I’m filled with joy because of your promise. It’s like finding a great fortune. 163 I hate lies with a deep hatred. But I love your law. 164 Seven times a day I praise you for your laws, because they are right. 165 Those who love your law enjoy great peace. Nothing can make them trip and fall. 166 LORD, I wait for you to save me. I follow your commands. 167 I obey your covenant laws, because I love them greatly. 168 I obey your rules and your covenant laws, because you know all about how I live. 169 LORD, may you hear my cry. Give me understanding, just as you said you would. 170 May you hear my prayer.
