1Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer nicht zur Tür hineingeht in den Schafstall, sondern steigt anderswo hinein, der ist ein Dieb und ein Räuber.2Der aber zur Tür hineingeht, der ist der Hirte der Schafe.3Dem macht der Türhüter auf, und die Schafe hören seine Stimme; und er ruft seine Schafe mit Namen und führt sie hinaus.4Wenn er alle seine Schafe hinausgelassen hat, geht er vor ihnen her, und die Schafe folgen ihm nach; denn sie kennen seine Stimme.5Einem Fremden aber folgen sie nicht nach, sondern fliehen vor ihm; denn sie kennen die Stimme der Fremden nicht.6Dies Gleichnis sagte Jesus zu ihnen; sie verstanden aber nicht, was er ihnen damit sagte.7Da sprach Jesus wieder: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ich bin die Tür zu den Schafen.8Alle, die vor mir gekommen sind, die sind Diebe und Räuber; aber die Schafe haben ihnen nicht gehorcht.9Ich bin die Tür; wenn jemand durch mich hineingeht, wird er selig werden und wird ein und aus gehen und Weide finden. (Joh 14,6)10Ein Dieb kommt nur, um zu stehlen, zu schlachten und umzubringen. Ich bin gekommen, damit sie das Leben haben und volle Genüge.11Ich bin der gute Hirte. Der gute Hirte lässt sein Leben für die Schafe. (Ps 23,1; Jes 40,11; Hes 34,11; Joh 15,13; Hebr 13,20)12Der Mietling, der nicht Hirte ist, dem die Schafe nicht gehören, sieht den Wolf kommen und verlässt die Schafe und flieht – und der Wolf stürzt sich auf die Schafe und zerstreut sie –,13denn er ist ein Mietling und kümmert sich nicht um die Schafe.14Ich bin der gute Hirte und kenne die Meinen und die Meinen kennen mich, (2Tim 2,19)15wie mich mein Vater kennt; und ich kenne den Vater. Und ich lasse mein Leben für die Schafe.16Und ich habe noch andere Schafe, die sind nicht aus diesem Stall; auch sie muss ich herführen, und sie werden meine Stimme hören, und es wird eine Herde und ein Hirte werden. (Joh 11,52; Apg 10,34)17Darum liebt mich der Vater, weil ich mein Leben lasse, auf dass ich’s wieder empfange.18Niemand nimmt es von mir, sondern ich selber lasse es. Ich habe Macht, es zu lassen, und habe Macht, es wieder zu empfangen. Dies Gebot habe ich empfangen von meinem Vater. (Joh 5,26)19Da entstand abermals Zwietracht unter den Juden wegen dieser Worte. (Joh 7,43; Joh 9,16)20Viele unter ihnen sprachen: Er ist von einem Dämon besessen und ist von Sinnen; was hört ihr ihm zu? (Mk 3,21; Joh 7,20)21Andere sprachen: Das sind nicht Worte eines Besessenen; kann denn ein Dämon die Augen der Blinden auftun?22Es war damals das Fest der Tempelweihe in Jerusalem, und es war Winter.23Und Jesus ging umher im Tempel in der Halle Salomos. (Apg 3,11)24Da umringten ihn die Juden und sprachen zu ihm: Wie lange hältst du uns im Ungewissen? Bist du der Christus, so sage es frei heraus.25Jesus antwortete ihnen: Ich habe es euch gesagt, und ihr glaubt nicht. Die Werke, die ich tue in meines Vaters Namen, die zeugen von mir. (Joh 5,36)26Aber ihr glaubt nicht, denn ihr seid nicht von meinen Schafen. (Joh 8,45; Joh 8,47)27Meine Schafe hören meine Stimme, und ich kenne sie und sie folgen mir; (Ps 95,7)28und ich gebe ihnen das ewige Leben, und sie werden nimmermehr umkommen, und niemand wird sie aus meiner Hand reißen.29Was mir mein Vater gegeben hat, ist größer als alles, und niemand kann es aus des Vaters Hand reißen.30Ich und der Vater sind eins.
Der Vorwurf der Gotteslästerung
31Da hoben die Juden abermals Steine auf, um ihn zu steinigen. (Joh 8,59)32Jesus antwortete ihnen: Viele gute Werke habe ich euch erzeigt vom Vater; um welches dieser Werke willen wollt ihr mich steinigen?33Die Juden antworteten ihm: Um eines guten Werkes willen steinigen wir dich nicht, sondern um der Gotteslästerung willen und weil du ein Mensch bist und machst dich selbst zu Gott. (Mt 9,3; Mt 26,65; Joh 5,18)34Jesus antwortete ihnen: Steht nicht geschrieben in eurem Gesetz: »Ich habe gesagt: Ihr seid Götter«?35Wenn jene »Götter« genannt werden, zu denen das Wort Gottes geschah – und die Schrift kann doch nicht gebrochen werden –, (Mt 5,17)36wie sagt ihr dann zu dem, den der Vater geheiligt und in die Welt gesandt hat: Du lästerst Gott –, weil ich sage: Ich bin Gottes Sohn? (Joh 5,17)37Tue ich nicht die Werke meines Vaters, so glaubt mir nicht;38tue ich sie aber, so glaubt doch den Werken, wenn ihr mir nicht glauben wollt, auf dass ihr erkennt und wisst, dass der Vater in mir ist und ich im Vater.39Da suchten sie abermals, ihn zu ergreifen. Aber er entging ihren Händen. (Lk 4,30; Joh 8,59)40Und er ging wieder fort auf die andere Seite des Jordans an den Ort, wo Johannes zuvor getauft hatte, und blieb dort. (Joh 1,28)41Und viele kamen zu ihm und sprachen: Johannes hat zwar kein Zeichen getan; aber alles, was Johannes von diesem gesagt hat, das ist wahr.42Und viele dort glaubten an ihn.
1Vraiment, je vous l’assure: si quelqu’un n’entre pas par la porte dans l’enclos où l’on parque les brebis[1], mais qu’il escalade le mur à un autre endroit, c’est un voleur et un brigand.2Celui qui entre par la porte est, lui, le berger des brebis.3Le gardien de l’enclos lui ouvre, les brebis écoutent sa voix. Il appelle par leur nom celles qui lui appartiennent, et il les fait sortir de l’enclos.4Quand il a conduit au dehors toutes celles qui sont à lui, il marche à leur tête et les brebis le suivent, parce que sa voix leur est familière.5Jamais, elles ne suivront un étranger; au contraire, elles fuiront loin de lui, car elles ne connaissent pas la voix des étrangers.6Jésus leur raconta cette parabole, mais ils ne comprirent pas ce qu’il voulait leur dire.7Alors il reprit: Vraiment, je vous l’assure: Moi, je suis la porte par où passent les brebis.8Tous ceux qui sont venus avant moi étaient des voleurs et des brigands. Mais les brebis ne les ont pas écoutés.9C’est moi qui suis la porte[2]. Celui qui entre par moi sera sauvé: il pourra aller et venir librement, il trouvera de quoi se nourrir[3]. (Mi 2,12)10Le voleur vient seulement pour voler, pour tuer et pour détruire. Moi, je suis venu afin que les hommes aient la vie, une vie abondante.11Moi, je suis le bon berger. Le bon berger donne sa vie pour ses brebis.12Celui qui n’est pas le berger, qui n’est pas le propriétaire des brebis, mais que l’on paye pour les garder, se sauve, lui, dès qu’il voit venir le loup, et il abandonne les brebis; alors le loup se précipite sur elles, il s’empare de quelques-unes et disperse le troupeau.13Cet homme agit ainsi parce qu’il est payé pour faire ce travail et qu’il n’a aucun souci des brebis.14Moi, je suis le bon berger; je connais mes brebis et mes brebis me connaissent,15tout comme le Père me connaît et que je connais le Père. Je donne ma vie pour mes brebis.16J’ai encore d’autres brebis qui ne sont pas de cet enclos. Celles-là aussi, il faut que je les amène; elles écouteront ma voix, ainsi il n’y aura plus qu’un seul troupeau avec un seul berger.17Si le Père m’aime, c’est parce que je donne ma vie; mais ensuite, je la reprendrai.18En effet, personne ne peut m’ôter la vie: je la donne de mon propre gré. J’ai le pouvoir de la donner et de la reprendre. Tel est l’ordre que j’ai reçu de mon Père.19Il y eut à nouveau division parmi le peuple à cause de ses paroles.20Beaucoup disaient: Il a un démon en lui, c’est un fou. Pourquoi l’écoutez-vous?21D’autres répliquaient: Un démoniaque ne parlerait pas ainsi. Et puis: est-ce qu’un démon peut rendre la vue à des aveugles?
Fils de Dieu ou blasphémateur ?
22Le moment vint où l’on célébrait à Jérusalem la fête de la Consécration[4].23C’était l’hiver. Jésus allait et venait dans la cour du Temple, dans la galerie de Salomon.24Alors on fit cercle autour de lui et on l’interpella: Combien de temps nous tiendras-tu encore en haleine? Si tu es le Messie, dis-le-nous clairement.25– Je vous l’ai déjà dit, leur répondit Jésus, mais vous ne croyez pas. Pourtant, vous avez vu les actes que j’accomplis au nom de mon Père: ce sont eux qui témoignent en ma faveur.26Mais vous ne croyez pas. Pourquoi? Parce que vous ne faites pas partie de mes brebis.27Mes brebis écoutent ma voix, je les connais et elles me suivent.28Je leur donne la vie éternelle: jamais elles ne périront et personne ne pourra les arracher de ma main.29Mon Père qui me les a données est plus grand que tous, et personne ne peut arracher qui que ce soit de la main de mon Père.30Or, moi et le Père, nous ne sommes qu’un.31Cette fois encore, ils ramassèrent des pierres pour le lapider.32Alors Jésus leur dit: J’ai accompli sous vos yeux un grand nombre d’œuvres bonnes par la puissance du Père; pour laquelle voulez-vous me lapider?33Les Juifs répliquèrent: Nous ne voulons pas te lapider pour une bonne action, mais parce que tu blasphèmes. Car, toi qui n’es qu’un homme, tu te fais passer pour Dieu.34Jésus répondit: N’est-il pas écrit dans votre propre Loi: Moi, je vous avais dit: Vous êtes des dieux[5]? (Ps 82,6)35Or, on ne saurait contester le témoignage de l’Ecriture. Si donc votre Loi appelle « dieux » ceux auxquels s’adresse la Parole de Dieu,36comment pouvez-vous m’accuser de blasphème parce que j’ai dit: « Je suis le Fils de Dieu », quand c’est le Père qui m’a consacré et envoyé dans le monde?37Si je n’accomplis pas les œuvres de mon Père, vous n’avez pas besoin de croire en moi.38Mais si, au contraire, je les accomplis, même si vous ne voulez pas me croire, laissez-vous au moins convaincre par mes œuvres, pour que vous reconnaissiez et que vous compreniez que le Père est en moi et que je suis dans le Père.39Là-dessus, ils tentèrent à nouveau de se saisir de lui, mais il leur échappa.40Après cela, Jésus se retira de l’autre côté du Jourdain, au lieu même où Jean avait précédemment baptisé. Il y resta quelque temps.41Beaucoup de monde vint le trouver. On disait: Jean n’a fait aucun signe miraculeux, mais tout ce qu’il a dit de cet homme était vrai.42Et là, beaucoup crurent en lui.
1“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.2But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.3To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.4When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.5A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” (Joh 10,12)6This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. (Jer 23,1; Hes 34,2; Sach 11,17; Sach 13,7)13He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. (Sach 11,16; 1Petr 5,2)14I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, (Nah 1,7; Joh 10,4; Joh 10,27; Joh 11,1; 2Tim 2,19)15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. (Mt 11,27; Joh 11,1)16And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. I and the Father Are One
22At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter,23and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. (Apg 3,11; Apg 5,12)24So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” (Mt 26,63; Lk 22,67; Joh 1,41)25Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, (Joh 5,36; Joh 5,43; Joh 10,38)26but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. (Joh 8,47)27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (Joh 10,14)28I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. (Joh 6,37; Joh 17,12; Joh 18,9; 1Joh 2,25; 1Joh 5,11)29My Father, who has given them to me,[1] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
