1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. (Le 23:15; Ac 20:16; 1Co 16:8) 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. (1Ki 19:11; Job 38:1; Eze 1:4; Ac 4:31; Ac 16:26) 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[1] on each one of them. (Mt 3:11) 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Mr 16:17; Ac 4:31; Ac 13:52; 1Co 12:10) 5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. (Ac 2:2) 7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? (Mt 26:73; Ac 1:11; Ac 2:12) 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, (Ge 14:1; Ge 14:9; 2Ki 17:6; Isa 11:11; Da 8:2) 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” (Mt 23:15; Ac 6:5; Ac 13:43) 12 And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” (Ac 2:7) 13 But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” (Ac 17:32; 1Co 14:23) 14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15 For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.[2] (1Th 5:7) 16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: 17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; (Isa 32:15; Isa 44:3; Eze 36:27; Joe 2:28; Ac 2:18; Ac 2:33; Ac 10:45; Ac 21:9; Ro 5:5; Tit 3:6) 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Ro 4:18) 27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. (Mt 11:23; Lu 2:26; Ac 2:31; Ac 13:35; Heb 7:26) 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ 29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. (1Ki 2:10; Ne 3:16; Ac 7:8; Ac 13:36; Heb 7:4) 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, (2Sa 23:2; Mt 22:43; Lu 1:32; Heb 11:32) 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Ac 2:27) 32 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. (Ac 1:22; Ac 2:24; Ac 4:33) 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. (Ex 15:6; Ps 98:1; Joh 16:7; Ac 1:4; Ac 2:17; Ac 5:31; Ga 3:14; Eph 1:20; Php 2:9; Heb 2:9; 1Pe 3:22) 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, (Ps 110:1; Joh 3:13) 35 until I make your enemies your footstool.”’ 36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” (Mt 28:18; Ac 2:23; Ro 14:9; 2Co 4:5) 37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” (Lu 3:10; Ac 5:33; Ac 7:54; Ac 16:30) 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Ac 2:47) 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (Mt 19:21; Ac 4:32; Ac 4:34) 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. (Ac 2:44) 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, (Lu 24:53; Joh 16:22; Ac 1:14; Ac 2:42; Ac 3:1; Ac 5:21; Ac 5:42; Ac 16:34) 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. 1 هفت هفته پس از مرگ و زنده شدن مسيح، روز«پنتیکاست» فرا رسيد. به اين روز، «عيد پنجاهم» میگفتند، يعنی پنجاه روز بعد از عيد پِسَح. در اين روز يهوديان نوبر غلهٔ خود را به خانهٔ خدا میآوردند. آن روز، وقتی ايمانداران دور هم جمع شده بودند، 2 ناگهان صدايی شبيه صدای وزش باد از آسمان آمد و خانهای را كه در آن جمع بودند، پر كرد. 3 سپس چيزی شبيه زبانههای آتش ظاهر شده، پخش شد و بر سر همه قرار گرفت. 4 آنگاه همه از روحالقدس پر شدند و برای اولين بار شروع به سخن گفتن به زبانهايی كردند كه با آنها آشنايی نداشتند، زيرا روح خدا اين قدرت را به ايشان داد. 5 آن روزها، يهوديان ديندار برای مراسم عيد از تمام سرزمينها به اورشليم آمده بودند. 6 پس وقتی صدا از آن خانه به گوش رسيد، گروهی با سرعت آمدند تا ببينند چه شده است. وقتی شنيدند شاگردان عيسی به زبان ايشان سخن میگويند، مات و مبهوت ماندند! 7 آنان با تعجب به يكديگر میگفتند: «اين چگونه ممكن است؟ با اينكه اين اشخاص از اهالی جليل هستند، 8 ولی به زبانهای محلی ما تكلم میكنند به زبان همان سرزمينهايی كه ما در آنجا به دنیا آمدهايم! 9 ما كه از پارتها، مادها، ايلامیها، اهالی بينالنهرين، يهوديه، كپدوكيه، پونتوس، آسيا، 10-11 فريجيه و پمفليه، مصر، قسمت قيروانی زبان ليبی، كريت، عربستان هستيم و حتی كسانی كه از روم آمدهاند هم يهودی و هم آنانی كه يهودی شدهاند همهٔ ما میشنويم كه اين اشخاص به زبان خود ما از اعمال عجيب خدا سخن میگويند!» 12 همه در حالی كه مبهوت بودند، از يكديگر میپرسيدند: «اين چه واقعهای است؟» 13 بعضی نيز مسخره كرده، میگفتند: «اينها مست هستند!» 14 آنگاه پطرس با يازده رسول ديگر از جا برخاست و با صدای بلند به ايشان گفت: «ای اهالی اورشليم، ای زائرينی كه در اين شهر به سر میبريد، گوش كنيد! 15 بعضی از شما میگوييد كه ما مست هستيم! اين حقيقت ندارد! چون اكنون ساعت نه صبح است و هنگام شرابخواری و مستی نيست! 16 آنچه امروز صبح شاهد آن هستيد، يوئيل نبی قرنها قبل پيشگويی كرده بود. 17 خدا از زبان او فرمود: در روزهای آخر، تمام مردم را از روح خود پر خواهم ساخت تا پسران و دختران شما نبوت كنند و جوانان شما رؤياها و پيران شما خوابها ببينند. 18 بله، تمام خدمتگزارانم را، چه مرد و چه زن، از روح خود پر خواهم كرد، و ايشان نبوت نموده، از جانب من سخن خواهند گفت. 19 در آسمان و زمين علامات عجيب ظاهر خواهم نمود؛ بر زمين خون جاری خواهد شد، از هوا آتش خواهد باريد و دود غليظ برخواهد خاست. 20 پيش از آن روز بزرگ و پرشكوه خداوند، خورشيد تاريک شده، ماه به رنگ خون در خواهد آمد. 21 اما هر كه خداوند را به كمک بطلبد، خداوند او را نجات خواهد داد. 22 «حال، ای مردان اسرائيلی به من گوش دهيد! همانطور كه خود نيز میدانيد، خدا بوسيلهٔ عيسای ناصری معجزات عجيب ظاهر كرد تا به همه ثابت كند كه عيسی از جانب او آمده است. 23 از سوی ديگر، خدا مطابق اراده و نقشهای كه از پيش تعيين فرموده بود، به شما اجازه داد تا به دست اجنبیهای بیدين، عيسی را بر صليب كشيده، بكُشيد. 24 ولی خدا او را دوباره زنده ساخت و از قدرت مرگ رهانيد، زيرا مرگ نمیتوانست چنين كسی را در چنگ خود اسير نگه دارد. 25 «زيرا داوود نبی میفرمايد: میدانم كه خداوند هميشه با من است. خدا مرا كمک میكند. قدرت پرتوان خدا پشتيبان من است. 26 از اين جهت دلم از خوشی لبريز است و زبانم دائماً او را سپاس میگويد! زيرا آسودهخاطر هستم كه در مرگ نيز در امان خدا میباشم. 27 تو نمیگذاری جانم در عالم مردگان بماند و اجازه نخواهی داد بدن فرزند مقدس تو فاسد گردد. 28 تو به من عمر دوباره عطا خواهی كرد و در حضورت مرا از خوشی لبريز خواهی نمود. 29 «برادران عزيز، كمی فكر كنيد! اين سخنان را جد ما داوود دربارهٔ خودش نگفت زيرا او مرد، دفن شد و قبرش نيز هنوز همینجا در میان ماست. 30 ولی چون نبی بود، میدانست خدا قول داده و قسم خورده است كه از نسل او، مسيح را بر تخت سلطنت او بنشاند. 31 داوود به آيندهٔ دور نگاه میكرد و زنده شدن مسيح را میديد و میگفت كه جان او در عالم مردگان باقی نخواهد ماند و بدنش نخواهد پوسيد. 32 داوود در واقع دربارهٔ عيسی پيشگويی میكرد و همهٔ ما با چشمان خود ديديم كه خدا عيسی را زنده ساخت. 33 «او اكنون در آسمان بر عاليترين جايگاه افتخار در كنار خدا نشسته است و روحالقدس موعود را از پدر دريافت كرده و او را به پيروان خود عطا فرموده است، كه امروز شما نتيجهاش را میبينيد و میشنويد. 34 «پس میبينيد كه داوود سخنانی را كه از او نقل كردم، دربارهٔ خودش نگفت چون داوود هرگز به آسمان نرفت، بلكه میگويد: خدا به خداوند من مسيح گفت: در دست راست من بنشين 35 تا دشمنانت را زير پايت بيندازم. 36 «از اين جهت، من امروز به وضوح و روشنی به همهٔ شما هموطنانم میگويم كه همين عيسی كه شما بر روی صليب كشتيد، خدا او را خداوند و مسيح تعيين فرموده است!» 37 سخنان پطرس مردم را سخت تحت تأثير قرار داد. بنابراين، به او و به ساير رسولان گفتند: «برادران، اكنون بايد چه كنيم؟» 38 پطرس جواب داد: «هر يک از شما بايد از گناهانتان دست كشيده، به سوی خدا بازگرديد و به نام عيسی تعميد بگيريد تا خدا گناهانتان را ببخشد. آنگاه خدا به شما نيز اين هديه، يعنی روحالقدس را عطا خواهد فرمود. 39 زيرا مسيح به شما كه از سوی خداوند، خدای ما دعوت شدهايد، و نيز به فرزندان شما و همچنين به كسانی كه در سرزمينهای دور هستند، وعده داده كه روحالقدس را عطا فرمايد.» 40 سپس پطرس به تفصيل دربارهٔ عيسی سخن گفت و تمام شنوندگان را تشويق نمود كه خود را از گناهان مردم شرور آن زمانه آزاد سازند. 41 از كسانی كه گفتههای او را قبول كردند، تقريباً سه هزار نفر تعميد گرفتند، 42 و در تعليمی كه رسولان میدادند و در آئين شام خداوند و دعا، با ساير ايمانداران مرتب شركت میكردند. 43 در ضمن، در اثر معجزات زيادی كه توسط رسولان به عمل میآمد، در دل همه ترسی توأم با احترام نسبت به خدا ايجاد شده بود. 44 به اين ترتيب، تمام ايمانداران با هم بودند و هر چه داشتند با هم قسمت میكردند. 45 ايشان دارايی خود را نيز میفروختند و بين فقرا تقسيم مینمودند؛ 46 و هر روز مرتب در خانهٔ خدا با هم عبادت میكردند، در خانهها برای شام خداوند جمع میشدند، و با خوشحالی و شكرگزاری هر چه داشتند با هم میخوردند، 47 و خدا را سپاس میگفتند. اهالی شهر نيز به ايشان احترام میگذاشتند و خدا هر روز عدهای را نجات میداد و به جمع ايشان میافزود.
