Wenn der Assyrer in unser Land kommt und unsere Paläste betritt, so werden wir sieben Hirten, ja acht Menschenfürsten gegen ihn aufstellen; (Jes 8,7; Sach 2,7; Sach 9,10; Eph 2,14)5die werden das Land Assyrien mit dem Schwert abweiden und das Land Nimrod in seinen Toren; und so wird er uns von dem Assyrer erretten, wenn dieser in unser Land kommt und unser Gebiet betritt. (1Mo 10,8; Sach 10,11; Lk 1,71)6Und der Überrest Jakobs wird inmitten vieler Völker sein wie ein Tau vom HERRN, wie Regenschauer auf das Gras, das auf niemand wartet und nicht auf Menschenkinder hofft. (5Mo 32,2; 2Sam 17,12; Ps 110,3; Spr 19,12; Jes 6,13; Jer 14,22)7Und der Überrest Jakobs wird unter den Nationen inmitten vieler Völker sein wie ein Löwe unter den Tieren des Waldes, wie ein junger Löwe unter den Schafherden, der, wenn er hindurchgeht, niedertritt und zerreißt, sodass niemand retten kann. (Ps 149,6)8Deine Hand wird siegen über deine Widersacher, und alle deine Feinde sollen ausgerottet werden! (Ps 2,9; Jes 60,12)9An jenem Tag soll es geschehen, spricht der HERR, dass ich deine Pferde aus deiner Mitte ausrotten und deine Wagen abschaffen werde; (5Mo 17,16; Ps 20,8; Sach 9,10)10und ich will die Städte deines Landes ausrotten und alle deine Festungen niederreißen. (Hes 38,11; Sach 2,4)11Ich will auch die Zaubermittel aus deiner Hand ausrotten, und du sollst keine Zeichendeuter mehr haben. (Jes 2,6)12Auch deine Bilder und deine Bildsäulen will ich aus deiner Mitte vertilgen, dass du das Werk deiner Hände nicht mehr anbeten sollst. (Jes 2,8; Jes 2,20; Hes 36,25; Sach 13,2)13Dazu will ich die Aschera-Standbilder in deiner Mitte vertilgen und deine Städte verwüsten. (2Mo 34,13; Jes 17,8)14Und ich werde mit Zorn und Grimm Rache üben an den Heidenvölkern, die nicht hören wollten. (Ps 94,1; Ps 149,7; Lk 21,22)
1Du, Bethlehem Efrata, bist zwar zu klein, um unter die großen Städte Judas gerechnet zu werden. Dennoch wird aus dir einer kommen, der über Israel herrschen soll.[1] Seine Herkunft reicht in ferne Vergangenheit zurück, ja bis in die Urzeit. (Jer 30,21; Sach 9,9; Mt 2,6; Joh 1,1; Joh 7,42)2Er lässt sein Volk in die Hände seiner Feinde fallen, bis die, die ein Kind bekommen soll, geboren hat. Dann aber wird auch der Rest des Volkes zu den übrigen Israeliten zurückkehren. (Jes 10,20; Hos 11,8)3Er wird sich als Hirte um seine Herde kümmern und wird sie in der Kraft des HERRN und in der Hoheit des Namens seines Gottes weiden. Zu dieser Zeit wird sein Volk sicher wohnen, und er wird von allen Völkern der Erde hoch geehrt werden. (Jes 52,10)4Und er wird der Friede sein.« Wenn die Assyrer unser Land überfallen und in unsere Burgen eindringen, werden wir sieben Heerführer und acht fürstliche Männer gegen sie aufstellen. (Jes 8,7; Jes 9,6)5Wenn ihre Zeit gekommen ist, werden sie Assyrien und das Land Nimrods im Kampf besiegen. Unser König wird uns von den Assyrern befreien, wenn sie in unser Land eindringen und unsere Grenzen überschreiten. (1Mo 10,8; Jes 37,36; Nah 2,12)
Die Reinigung des Überrestes
6Dann werden die übrig Gebliebenen Israels unter den Heidenvölkern sein wie der Tau, den der HERR schickt, oder wie Regen, der auf das Gras fällt, ohne dass ein Mensch es beeinflussen könnte. (5Mo 32,2)7Die übrig Gebliebenen Israels werden unter den Heidenvölkern sein wie der Löwe unter den Tieren des Waldes, ja wie ein junger Löwe in einer Schafherde – er wütet und reißt erbarmungslos, und niemand kann sie retten. (1Mo 49,9; Sach 10,5)8Dein Arm soll hocherhoben sein über die, die dich bedrängen, und alle deine Feinde sollen vernichtet werden.9»Zur selben Zeit«, spricht der HERR, »werde ich alle deine Schlachtrösser töten und deine Streitwagen zerstören. (Hos 14,4; Sach 9,10)10Ich werde die Städte in deinem Land dem Erdboden gleichmachen und alle deine Festungen niederreißen. (Jes 2,12; Hos 10,14)11Alle Zauberei werde ich euch wegnehmen und es wird bei euch keinen Wahrsager mehr geben. (5Mo 18,10)12Ich werde alle eure geschnitzten Götzenbilder und heiligen Säulen zerschmettern, damit du dich nie wieder vor dem Werk deiner eigenen Hände anbetend niederwirfst.13Ich werde deine weiblichen Götzenbilder, die Ascheren, aus deiner Mitte ausreißen und deine Kultstätten vertilgen. (2Mo 34,13)14Ich werde in meinem glühenden Zorn Rache nehmen an allen Völkern, die mir nicht gehorcht haben.« (Jes 1,24; Jes 65,12)

When the Assyrian comes into our land and treads in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight princes of men; (2Kön 18,13; Jes 3,2; Jes 9,6; Sach 9,10; Eph 2,14)6they shall shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian when he comes into our land and treads within our border. A Remnant Shall Be Delivered
7Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man. (Mi 5,3)8And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver. (Hos 5,14; Mi 5,3)9Your hand shall be lifted up over your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off. (Jes 26,11)10And in that day, declares the Lord, I will cut off your horses from among you and will destroy your chariots; (Jes 2,7; Mi 4,1; Mi 4,6; Hag 2,22; Sach 9,10)11and I will cut off the cities of your land and throw down all your strongholds; (Jes 17,9; Jes 27,10; Hos 8,14; Mi 5,14; Sach 2,4)12and I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes; (5Mo 18,10; 2Kön 9,22; Jes 2,6)13and I will cut off your carved images and your pillars from among you, and you shall bow down no more to the work of your hands; (Jes 17,8; Hos 3,4; Sach 13,2)14and I will root out your Asherah images from among you and destroy your cities. (2Mo 34,13; 5Mo 16,21; Mi 5,11)15And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey. (Ps 149,7; Mi 5,8; 2Thess 1,8)
1Jerusalem, you are being attacked. So bring your troops together. Our enemies have surrounded us. They want to slap the face of Israel’s ruler.2The LORD says, ‘Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.’3The LORD will hand over his people to their enemies. That will last until the pregnant woman bears her promised son. Then the rest of his relatives in Judah will return to their land.4That promised son will stand firm and be a shepherd for his flock. The LORD will give him the strength to do it. The LORD his God will give him the authority to rule. His people will live safely. His greatness will reach from one end of the earth to the other.5And he will be our peace when the Assyrians attack our land. They will march through our forts. But we will raise up against them many shepherds. We’ll send out against them as many commanders as we need to.6They will use their swords to rule over Assyria. They’ll rule the land of Nimrod with swords that are ready to strike. The Assyrians will march across our borders and attack our land. But the promised ruler will save us from them.7Jacob’s people who are still left alive will be scattered among many nations. They will be like dew the LORD has sent. Dew doesn’t depend on any human being. They will be like rain that falls on the grass. Rain doesn’t wait for someone to give it orders.8So Jacob’s people will be scattered among many nations. They will be like a lion among the animals in the forest. They’ll be like a young lion among flocks of sheep. Lions attack and tear apart their prey as they move along. No one can keep them from killing what they want.9LORD, your power will win the battle over your enemies. All of them will be destroyed.10‘At that time I will destroy your war horses,’ announces the LORD. ‘I will smash your chariots.11I will destroy the cities in your land. I will tear down all your forts.12I will destroy your worship of evil powers. You will no longer be able to put a spell on anyone.13I will destroy the statues of your gods. I will take your sacred stones away from you. You will no longer bow down to the gods your hands have made.14I will pull down the poles you used to worship the female god named Asherah. That will happen when I completely destroy your cities.15I will pay back the nations that have not obeyed me. I will direct my anger against them.’
