Das Lied Moses

1 Horcht auf, ihr Himmel, denn ich will reden, und du, Erde, höre die Rede meines Mundes! (5Mo 30,19; Ps 50,4) 

2 Meine Lehre triefe wie der Regen, meine Rede fließe wie der Tau, wie die Regenschauer auf das Gras, und wie die Tropfen auf das Grün. (Hi 29,22; Jes 55,10) 

3 Denn ich will den Namen des HERRN verkünden: Gebt unserem Gott die Ehre! (1Chr 29,11; Ps 8,2; Ps 145,1) 

4 Er ist der Fels; vollkommen ist sein Tun; ja, alle seine Wege sind gerecht. Ein Gott der Treue und ohne Falsch, gerecht und aufrichtig ist er. (1Mo 1,31; 5Mo 7,9; 5Mo 32,15; 5Mo 32,31; 1Sam 2,2; Ps 90,1; Ps 104,24; Ps 145,17; Dan 4,34) 

5 Gegen ihn haben verderblich gehandelt, die nicht seine Kinder sind, sondern Schandflecken, ein verkehrtes und verdrehtes Geschlecht. (5Mo 32,20; Ps 78,8; Jes 1,4; Jes 5,4; Jer 2,5; Jer 2,31) 

6 Dankst du so dem HERRN, du törichtes und unweises Volk? Ist er nicht dein Vater, dem du gehörst, ist er es nicht, der dich gemacht und bereitet hat? (2Mo 4,22; 5Mo 14,1; Hi 34,17; Ps 100,3; Jes 9,6; Jes 43,1; Jes 43,7; 2Kor 5,5) 

7 Denke an die Tage der Vorzeit; achte auf die Jahre der vorhergehenden Geschlechter! Frage deinen Vater, der wird dir’s verkünden; deine Alten, die werden dir’s sagen: (5Mo 4,32; 5Mo 8,2; Ps 44,2) 

8 Als der Allerhöchste den Heiden ihr Erbe austeilte, als er die Menschenkinder voneinander schied, da setzte er die Grenzen der Völker fest nach der Zahl der Kinder Israels. (1Mo 9,25; 1Mo 10,5; 1Mo 11,7; Apg 17,26) 

9 Denn das Teil des HERRN ist sein Volk; Jakob ist das Los seines Erbteils. (Ps 78,71; Jer 10,16) 

10 Er hat ihn in der Wüste gefunden, in der Öde, im Geheul der Wildnis. Er umgab ihn, gab acht auf ihn, er behütete ihn wie seinen Augapfel, (Ps 17,8; Jer 2,6; Hos 13,5; Sach 2,12) 

11 wie ein Adler seine Nestbrut aufscheucht, Über seinen Jungen schwebt, seine Flügel ausbreitet, sie aufnimmt, sie auf seinen Schwingen trägt. (2Mo 19,4) 

12 Der HERR allein leitete ihn, und kein fremder Gott war mit ihm. (5Mo 4,34; 5Mo 26,9; 5Mo 29,5; Jes 63,14) 

13 Er ließ ihn über die Höhen der Erde fahren und er aß vom Ertrag der Felder; Er ließ ihn Honig aus dem Felsen saugen und Öl aus dem harten Gestein; (Hi 29,6; Ps 81,17; Jes 58,14) 

14 Butter von den Kühen und Milch von den Schafen, samt dem Fett der Lämmer, und Widder von den Söhnen Baschans und Böcke, samt dem allerbesten Weizen, und du trankst Traubenblut, feurigen Wein. (1Mo 49,11; Jer 32,22) 

15 Da wurde Jeschurun fett und schlug aus. Du bist fett, dick und feist geworden! Und er verwarf den Gott, der ihn geschaffen hat, und er verachtete den Fels seines Heils. (5Mo 32,4; 5Mo 32,18; 5Mo 32,30; Jes 1,4; Jes 51,1; Hos 13,6; Mt 13,22) 

16 Sie erregten seine Eifersucht durch fremde [Götter]; durch Gräuel erzürnten sie ihn. (1Kön 14,22; Ps 78,58) 

17 Sie opferten den Dämonen, die nicht Gott sind, Göttern, die sie nicht kannten, neuen Göttern, die erst vor Kurzem aufgekommen waren, die eure Väter nicht verehrten. (5Mo 28,64; Jer 19,4; 1Kor 10,20) 

18 Den Fels, der dich gezeugt hat, hast du außer Acht gelassen; und du hast den Gott vergessen, der dich hervorbrachte! (Jes 17,10; Jer 2,32) 

19 Als der HERR es sah, verwarf er sie, aus Unwillen über seine Söhne und seine Töchter. (Ps 106,40; Jes 1,2) 

20 Und er sprach: Ich will mein Angesicht vor ihnen verbergen; ich will sehen, was ihr Ende sein wird, denn sie sind ein verkehrtes Geschlecht, sie sind Kinder, in denen keine Treue ist. (5Mo 31,17; 5Mo 32,5; Ps 78,8; Jes 63,8; Jer 5,31) 

21 Sie haben mich zur Eifersucht gereizt mit dem, was kein Gott ist, durch ihre nichtigen [Götzen] haben sie mich erzürnt; so will auch ich sie zur Eifersucht reizen durch das, was kein Volk ist, durch ein törichtes Volk will ich sie erzürnen! (5Mo 32,16; Röm 10,19) 

22 Denn ein Feuer ist durch meinen Zorn angezündet, das wird bis in die unterste Tiefe des Totenreichs hinab brennen und das Land samt seinem Gewächs verzehren und die Grundfesten der Berge in Flammen verwandeln. (Jer 15,14; Kla 4,11) 

23 Ich will Unheil über sie häufen, ich will meine Pfeile gegen sie abschießen. (5Mo 32,42; Ps 7,12; Hes 5,16) 

24 Sie sollen vor Hunger verschmachten und von der Pest aufgezehrt werden, und von der bitteren Seuche; dann sende ich die Zähne wilder Tiere gegen sie, samt dem Gift der Schlange, die im Staub kriecht. (Jer 8,17; Jer 15,3; Hes 5,17) 

25 Draußen soll das Schwert sie [der Kinder] berauben und in den Kammern der Schrecken, den jungen Mann wie die Jungfrau, den Säugling mitsamt dem alten Mann. (Kla 1,20; Hes 7,15) 

26 Ich hätte gesagt: »Ich will sie wegblasen, will ihr Gedenken unter den Menschen ausrotten!«, (5Mo 9,14; 5Mo 29,20; Hi 4,9; Ps 34,17; Jes 11,4) 

27 wenn ich nicht den Verdruss vonseiten des Feindes scheute, dass ihre Feinde dies verkennen könnten und sagen: »Unsere Hand war erhoben, und nicht der HERR hat dies alles getan!« (5Mo 9,28; Jes 10,12; Jes 42,8) 

28 Denn sie sind ein Volk, an dem aller Rat verloren ist, und das keine Einsicht besitzt. (Ps 81,13; Jer 4,22) 

29 Wenn sie weise wären, so würden sie das beherzigen; sie würden an ihr Ende denken! (Jes 47,7; Jer 5,31; Kla 1,9) 

30 Wie könnte einer tausend jagen und zwei zehntausend in die Flucht schlagen, wenn ihr Fels sie nicht verkauft und der HERR sie nicht preisgegeben hätte? (Ri 2,14; 2Chr 24,24; Jes 30,17; Jes 50,1; Hos 13,9) 

31 Denn ihr Fels ist nicht wie unser Fels; das müssen unsere Feinde selbst zugeben! (5Mo 32,4; 5Mo 32,37) 

32 Denn vom Weinstock Sodoms stammen ihre Reben und von den Fluren Gomorras; ihre Beeren sind Giftbeeren, ihre Trauben sind bitter. (Jes 1,10; Jer 2,21) 

33 Ihr Wein ist Drachengeifer und grausames Otterngift. (Ps 58,5; Röm 3,13) 

34 Ist dies nicht bei mir aufbewahrt und in meinen Archiven versiegelt? (Hi 14,17; Hos 13,12; Röm 2,5) 

35 Mein ist die Rache und die Vergeltung, zu der Zeit, da ihr Fuß wanken wird; denn die Zeit ihres Verderbens ist nahe, und ihr Verhängnis eilt herbei. (Röm 12,19; Hebr 10,30; 2Petr 2,3) 

36 Denn der HERR wird sein Volk richten; und er wird sich über seine Knechte erbarmen, wenn er sieht, dass jeder Halt entschwunden ist und der Sklave samt dem Freien dahin ist. (Ri 2,18; Ri 10,15; 1Kön 14,10; 1Kön 21,21; 2Kön 14,26; Ps 135,14; Jer 31,20) 

37 Und er wird sagen: Wo sind ihre Götter, der Fels, bei dem sie Zuflucht suchten, (5Mo 32,31; Jer 2,28) 

38 sie, die das Fett ihrer Opfer aßen, den Wein ihres Trankopfers tranken? Sie sollen aufstehen und euch helfen; sie sollen euch beschirmen! (Ri 10,14) 

39 Seht nun, dass Ich, Ich allein es bin und kein Gott neben mir ist! Ich bin’s, der tötet und lebendig macht, ich zerschlage und ich heile, und niemand kann aus meiner Hand erretten! (5Mo 4,35; 1Sam 2,6; Hi 5,18; Ps 68,21; Jes 43,11; Jes 43,13; Jes 45,20; Dan 4,34) 

40 Denn ich hebe meine Hand zum Himmel empor und sage: So wahr ich ewig lebe! (1Mo 14,22; Dan 12,7; Hebr 6,17; Offb 10,5) 

41 Wenn ich mein blitzendes Schwert geschärft habe und meine Hand zum Gericht greift, so will ich Rache nehmen an meinen Feinden und Vergeltung üben an denen, die mich hassen. (5Mo 7,10; Jes 27,1) 

42 Ich will meine Pfeile mit Blut berauschen, und mein Schwert soll Fleisch fressen, mit dem Blut der Erschlagenen und Gefangenen, vom Haupt der Fürsten des Feindes. (Ps 45,6; Jer 46,10) 

43 Jubelt, ihr Heiden, seinem Volk zu! Denn Er wird das Blut seiner Knechte rächen und seinen Feinden vergelten; aber für sein Land und sein Volk wird er Sühnung schaffen! (Ps 85,2; Jes 2,2; Jes 26,21; Jes 40,1; Lk 18,7; Röm 15,10; Offb 6,10) 

Das Wort Gottes ist Leben

44 Und Mose kam und trug alle Worte dieses Liedes vor den Ohren des Volkes vor, er und Josua, der Sohn Nuns. (5Mo 31,22; 5Mo 31,30) 

45 Und als Mose dies alles zu ganz Israel geredet hatte, (Ps 78,5) 

46 da sprach er zu ihnen: Nehmt zu Herzen alle Worte, die ich euch heute bezeuge, damit ihr sie euren Kindern gebietet, dass sie darauf achten, alle Worte dieses Gesetzes zu befolgen. 

47 Denn es ist kein leeres Wort für euch, sondern es ist euer Leben, und durch dieses Wort werdet ihr eure Tage verlängern in dem Land, in das ihr über den Jordan geht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen! (3Mo 18,5; 5Mo 5,33; Spr 3,1; Spr 3,22; 1Tim 4,8) 

Mose wird aufgefordert, den Berg Nebo zu besteigen

48 Und der HERR redete zu Mose an jenem Tag und sprach: 

49 Steige auf dieses Bergland Abarim, auf den Berg Nebo, der im Land Moab, Jericho gegenüber, liegt, und schaue das Land Kanaan, das ich den Kindern Israels zum Eigentum geben werde; (4Mo 27,12; Jer 22,20) 

50 und dann sollst du sterben auf dem Berg, auf den du steigen wirst, und zu deinem Volk versammelt werden, wie dein Bruder Aaron auf dem Berg Hor starb und zu seinem Volk versammelt wurde; (4Mo 20,23; 5Mo 34,5) 

51 weil ihr an mir Untreue begangen habt mitten unter den Kindern Israels, am Haderwasser bei Kadesch, in der Wüste Zin, weil ihr mich nicht geheiligt habt unter den Kindern Israels. (3Mo 10,3; 4Mo 20,12; Jes 29,23) 

52 Denn du wirst das Land vor dir zwar sehen; aber du sollst nicht in das Land hineinkommen, das ich den Kindern Israels gebe! (5Mo 32,49; 5Mo 34,1; Hebr 11,13)

Das Lied des Mose

1 Merkt auf, ihr Himmel, ich will reden, und die Erde höre die Rede meines Mundes. (Jes 1,2) 

2 Meine Lehre rinne wie der Regen, und meine Rede riesele wie Tau, wie der Regen auf das Gras und wie die Tropfen auf das Kraut. (Jes 55,10) 

3 Denn ich will den Namen des HERRN preisen. Gebt unserm Gott allein die Ehre! 

4 Er ist der Fels. Seine Werke sind vollkommen; denn alle seine Wege sind recht. Treu ist Gott und kein Böses an ihm, gerecht und wahrhaftig ist er. 

5 Das verkehrte und böse Geschlecht hat gesündigt wider ihn; sie sind Schandflecken und nicht seine Kinder. (Jes 1,2; Mt 17,17) 

6 Dankst du so dem HERRN, deinem Gott, du tolles und törichtes Volk? Ist er nicht dein Vater und dein Herr? Ist’s nicht er allein, der dich gemacht und bereitet hat? (2Mo 4,22; Jes 63,16; Jer 3,4; Jer 31,9; Hos 11,1; Mal 1,6) 

7 Gedenke der vorigen Zeiten und hab acht auf die Jahre von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht. Frage deinen Vater, der wird dir’s verkünden, deine Ältesten, die werden dir’s sagen. 

8 Als der Höchste den Völkern Land zuteilte und der Menschen Kinder voneinander schied, da setzte er die Grenzen der Völker nach der Zahl der Söhne Israels. (1Mo 11,8; Apg 17,26) 

9 Denn des HERRN Teil ist sein Volk, Jakob ist sein Erbe. (5Mo 9,26; 5Mo 9,29) 

10 Er fand ihn in der Steppe, in der Wüste, im Geheul der Wildnis. Er umfing ihn und hatte acht auf ihn. Er behütete ihn wie seinen Augapfel. (Ps 17,8; Hes 16,4; Hos 9,10; Sach 2,12) 

11 Wie ein Adler ausführt seine Jungen und über ihnen schwebt, so breitete er seine Fittiche aus und nahm ihn und trug ihn auf seinen Flügeln. (2Mo 19,4) 

12 Der HERR allein leitete ihn, und kein fremder Gott war mit ihm. 

13 Er ließ ihn einherfahren über die Höhen der Erde und nährte ihn mit den Früchten des Feldes und ließ ihn Honig saugen aus dem Felsen und Öl aus hartem Gestein, (Ps 81,17) 

14 Butter von den Kühen und Milch von den Schafen samt dem Fett von den Lämmern, feiste Widder und Böcke und das Beste vom Weizen und tränkte ihn mit edlem Traubenblut. 

15 Als aber Jeschurun fett ward, wurde er übermütig. Er ist fett und dick und feist geworden und hat den Gott verworfen, der ihn gemacht hat. Er hat den Fels seines Heils gering geachtet (5Mo 31,20; 5Mo 33,5; 5Mo 33,26; Neh 9,25; Jes 44,2) 

16 und hat ihn zur Eifersucht gereizt durch fremde Götter; durch Gräuel hat er ihn erzürnt. 

17 Sie haben Geistern geopfert, die keine Gottheiten sind, Göttern, die sie nicht kannten, neuen, die vor Kurzem erst aufgekommen sind, die eure Väter nicht geehrt haben. 

18 Den Fels, der dich gezeugt hat, hast du außer Acht gelassen und hast vergessen den Gott, der dich geboren hat. (1Mo 49,24; Ps 18,32; Ps 78,15) 

19 Und als es der HERR sah, ward er zornig über seine Söhne und Töchter, 

20 und er sprach: Ich will mein Antlitz vor ihnen verbergen, will sehen, was ihnen zuletzt widerfahren wird; denn es ist ein verkehrtes Geschlecht, es sind untreue Kinder. 

21 Sie haben mich gereizt durch einen Nicht-Gott, durch ihre Abgötterei haben sie mich erzürnt. Ich aber will sie wieder reizen durch ein Nicht-Volk, durch ein gottloses Volk will ich sie erzürnen. (Ps 78,58; Jer 2,11; Röm 10,19) 

22 Denn ein Feuer ist entbrannt durch meinen Zorn und wird brennen bis in die unterste Tiefe und wird verzehren das Land mit seinem Gewächs und wird anzünden die Grundfesten der Berge. 

23 Ich will alles Unglück über sie häufen, ich will alle meine Pfeile auf sie schießen. 

24 Vor Hunger sollen sie verschmachten und verzehrt werden vom Fieber und von jähem Tod. Ich will der Tiere Zähne unter sie schicken und der Schlangen Gift. 

25 Draußen wird das Schwert ihre Kinder rauben und drinnen der Schrecken den jungen Mann wie das Mädchen, den Säugling wie den Greis. (Hes 5,17; Hes 14,21) 

26 Ich hätte gesagt: Es soll aus sein mit ihnen, ich will ihren Namen tilgen unter den Menschen –, 

27 wenn ich nicht den Spott der Feinde gescheut hätte; ihre Widersacher hätten es nicht erkannt und gesagt: Unsere Macht ist groß, und nicht der HERR hat dies alles getan. 

28 Denn Israel ist ein Volk, dem man nicht mehr raten kann, und kein Verstand wohnt in ihnen. (Jes 27,11; Jer 4,22) 

29 O dass sie weise wären und dies verstünden, dass sie merkten, was ihnen hernach begegnen wird! 

30 Wie geht’s zu, dass einer tausend verjagt und zwei sogar zehntausend flüchtig machen? Kommt’s nicht daher, dass ihr Fels sie verkauft hat und der HERR sie dahingegeben hat? (3Mo 26,36; Jes 30,17) 

31 Denn unserer Feinde Fels ist nicht wie unser Fels; so müssen sie selber urteilen. 

32 Denn ihr Weinstock stammt von Sodoms Weinstock und von dem Weinberg Gomorras; ihre Trauben sind Gift, sie haben bittere Beeren, 

33 ihr Wein ist Drachengift und verderbliches Gift der Ottern. 

34 Ist dies nicht bei mir verwahrt und versiegelt in meinen Schatzkammern? (5Mo 29,28) 

35 Die Rache ist mein, ich will vergelten zur Zeit, da ihr Fuß gleitet; denn die Zeit ihres Unglücks ist nahe, und was über sie kommen soll, eilt herzu. (Ps 94,1; Röm 12,19; Hebr 10,30) 

36 Denn der HERR wird seinem Volk Recht schaffen, und über seine Knechte wird er sich erbarmen. Denn er wird sehen, dass ihre Macht dahin ist und es aus ist mit ihnen ganz und gar. 

37 Und er wird sagen: Wo sind ihre Götter, ihr Fels, auf den sie trauten, (5Mo 31,1) 

38 die das Fett ihrer Schlachtopfer essen sollten und trinken den Wein ihrer Trankopfer? Lasst sie aufstehen und euch helfen und euch schützen! (Ri 10,14; Jer 2,28) 

39 Sehet nun, dass ich’s allein bin und ist kein Gott neben mir! Ich kann töten und lebendig machen, ich kann schlagen und kann heilen, und niemand kann aus meiner Hand reißen. (2Mo 15,26; 5Mo 4,35; 1Sam 2,6; Hi 5,18; Jes 45,5; Hos 6,1) 

40 Denn ich will meine Hand zum Himmel heben und will sagen: So wahr ich ewig lebe: 

41 Wenn ich mein blitzendes Schwert schärfe und meine Hand zur Strafe greift, so will ich mich rächen an meinen Feinden und denen, die mich hassen, vergelten. (Jer 46,10) 

42 Ich will meine Pfeile mit Blut trunken machen, und mein Schwert soll Fleisch fressen, mit Blut von Erschlagenen und Gefangenen, vom Haupt der Fürsten des Feindes. 

43 Preiset, ihr Heiden, sein Volk; denn er wird das Blut seiner Knechte rächen und wird an seinen Feinden Rache nehmen und entsühnen das Land seines Volks! (4Mo 35,33; 5Mo 21,8; Röm 15,10) 

Moses letzte Mahnung an das Volk

44 Und Mose kam und redete alle Worte dieses Liedes vor den Ohren des Volks, er und Josua, der Sohn Nuns. 

45 Als nun Mose das alles zu Ende geredet hatte vor ganz Israel, 

46 sprach er zu ihnen: Nehmt zu Herzen alle Worte, die ich euch heute bezeuge, dass ihr euren Kindern befehlt, alle Worte dieses Gesetzes zu halten und zu tun. (5Mo 6,7) 

47 Denn es ist nicht ein leeres Wort an euch, sondern es ist euer Leben, und durch dies Wort werdet ihr lange leben in dem Lande, in das ihr zieht über den Jordan, um es einzunehmen. (3Mo 18,5) 

Gott bereitet Mose auf seinen Tod vor

48 Und der HERR redete mit Mose am selben Tage und sprach: 

49 Geh auf das Gebirge Abarim, auf den Berg Nebo, der da liegt im Lande Moab gegenüber Jericho, und schaue das Land Kanaan, das ich den Israeliten zum Eigentum geben werde. (4Mo 27,12; 4Mo 33,48) 

50 Dann stirb auf dem Berge, auf den du hinaufgestiegen bist, und lass dich zu deinem Volk versammeln, wie dein Bruder Aaron starb auf dem Berge Hor und zu seinem Volk versammelt wurde; (4Mo 20,23) 

51 denn ihr habt euch an mir versündigt unter den Israeliten bei dem Haderwasser zu Kadesch in der Wüste Zin, weil ihr mich nicht heiligtet inmitten der Israeliten. (4Mo 20,12) 

52 Denn du sollst das Land vor dir sehen, das ich den Israeliten gebe, aber du sollst nicht hineinkommen.

18 An den Fels, der dich gezeugt hat, / dachtest du nicht mehr, / du vergaßest den Gott, der dich geboren hat. (Jer 2,27) 

19 Der HERR sah es und verwarf / im Zorn seine Söhne und Töchter. 

20 Und er sagte: Ich will mein Gesicht vor ihnen verbergen / und dann sehen, was in Zukunft mit ihnen geschieht. / Denn sie sind eine Generation des Aufruhrs, / Söhne, in denen die Untreue sitzt. (5Mo 31,17)

22 In meiner Nase ist Feuer entbrannt. / Es lodert bis in die unterste Totenwelt, / verzehrt die Erde und was auf ihr wächst / und schmilzt die Fundamente der Berge. 

23 Immer neue Not bürde ich ihnen auf, / ich setze gegen sie alle meine Pfeile ein. (5Mo 31,21) 

24 Sie werden ausgemergelt durch den Hunger, / verzehrt durch die Pest und die verheerende Seuche. / Den Zahn der Raubtiere lasse ich auf sie los, / dazu das Gift der im Staube Kriechenden. 

25 Auf der Straße raubt das Schwert / und in den Zimmern der Schrecken / den jungen Mann und das Mädchen, / den Säugling samt dem Greis. 

26 Ich könnte sagen: Das ist ihr Ende. / Ihr Gedächtnis will ich unter den Menschen tilgen, 

27 scheute ich nicht die Kränkung durch ihren Feind. / Ihre Gegner sollen es nicht falsch verstehen, / sollen nicht sagen: Unsere Hand ist erhoben, statt zu sagen: / Der HERR hat das alles gewirkt. 

28 Doch diesem Volk fehlt es an Rat, / ihm mangelt es an Verstand. 

29 Wären sie klug, so begriffen sie alles / und verstünden, was in Zukunft mit ihnen geschieht. (Lk 19,42) 

30 Wie kann ein Einziger hinter tausend herjagen / und zwei zehntausend in die Flucht schlagen, / es sei denn, ihr Fels hat sie verkauft, / der HERR hat sie preisgegeben? 

31 Doch der Fels unserer Feinde ist nicht wie unser Fels; / das beweisen unsere Feinde. (1Sam 2,2) 

32 Ihr Weinstock stammt von dem Weinstock Sodoms, / vom Todesacker Gomorras. / Ihre Trauben sind giftige Trauben / und tragen bittere Beeren. 

33 Ihr Wein ist Schlangengift / und Gift von ekligen Ottern. 

34 Liegt dies nicht bei mir verborgen, / in meinen Vorratskammern versiegelt? / 

35 Mein ist die Strafe und die Vergeltung / zu der Zeit, da ihr Fuß wanken wird. / Ja, der Tag ihres Verderbens ist nah / und ihr Verhängnis kommt schnell. - (Lk 21,22; Röm 12,19; Hebr 10,30) 

36 Ja, der HERR wird seinem Volk Recht geben / und mit seinen Dienern Mitleid haben. / Er wird sehen: Jede Hand ist ermüdet, / es gibt nur noch Unterdrückte und Hilflose. (2Kön 14,26; Ps 135,14; 2Mak 7,6) 

37 Und er wird sagen: Wo sind ihre Götter? / Wo ist der Fels, bei dem sie Schutz suchten? (Jer 2,28) 

38 Die das Fett ihrer Schlachtopfer essen, / die den Wein ihrer Trankopfer trinken - / die sollen vortreten und euch helfen. / Dieser Fels soll ein Schutzdach über euch sein. 

39 Jetzt seht: Ich bin es, nur ich, / und es gibt keinen Gott neben mir. / Ich bin es, der tötet und der lebendig macht. / Ich habe verwundet; nur ich werde heilen. / Niemand kann retten aus meiner Hand. (1Sam 2,6; Jes 43,10) 

40 Denn ich hebe meine Hand zum Himmel empor / und sage: So wahr ich ewig lebe: (Offb 10,5) 

41 Habe ich erst die Klinge meines Schwertes geschliffen, / um das Recht in meine Hand zu nehmen, / dann zwinge ich meinen Gegnern die Strafe auf / und denen, die mich hassen, die Vergeltung. 

42 Meine Pfeile mache ich trunken von Blut, / während mein Schwert sich ins Fleisch frisst - / trunken vom Blut Erschlagener und Gefangener, / ins Fleisch des höchsten feindlichen Fürsten. 

43 Preist, ihr Völker, sein Volk! / Denn er straft für das Blut seiner Diener. / Er zwingt seinen Gegnern die Strafe auf / und erwirkt Sühne für sein Land, sein Volk. (Röm 15,10; Offb 6,10; Offb 18,20; Offb 19,2) 

44 Dann kam Mose zum Volk und trug ihm das Lied in seinem vollen Wortlaut vor, er und Josua, der Sohn Nuns. 

Mahnung zur Belehrung der nächsten Generation

45 Als Mose damit zu Ende war, alle diese Worte vor ganz Israel vorzutragen, 

46 sagte er zu ihnen: Nehmt euch alle Worte zu Herzen, die ich heute gegen euch als Zeugen bestelle, damit ihr auch eure Kinder dazu verpflichtet, auf alle Worte dieser Weisung zu achten und sie zu halten. (5Mo 4,10; 5Mo 31,13) 

47 Das ist kein leeres Wort, das ohne Bedeutung für euch wäre, sondern es ist euer Leben. Wenn ihr diesem Wort folgt, werdet ihr lange in dem Land leben, in das ihr jetzt über den Jordan hinüberzieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (5Mo 30,15; Apg 7,38) 

Gottes Weisung über das Sterben des Mose

48 Am selben Tag sagte der HERR zu Mose: (4Mo 20,2; 4Mo 27,12; 4Mo 33,47) 

49 Geh hinauf in das Gebirge Abarim, das du vor dir siehst, steig auf den Berg Nebo, der in Moab gegenüber Jericho liegt, und schau auf das Land Kanaan, das ich den Israeliten als Grundbesitz geben werde. 

50 Dort auf dem Berg, den du ersteigst, sollst du sterben und sollst mit deinen Vorfahren vereint werden, wie dein Bruder Aaron auf dem Berg Hor gestorben ist und mit seinen Vorfahren vereint wurde. 

51 Denn ihr seid mir untreu gewesen inmitten der Israeliten beim Haderwasser von Kadesch in der Wüste Zin und habt mich inmitten der Israeliten nicht als den Heiligen geehrt. 

52 Du darfst das Land von der anderen Talseite aus sehen. Aber du darfst das Land, das ich den Israeliten geben werde, nicht betreten.

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven and swear, As I live forever, (1Mo 14,22)

1 Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. 

2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. 

3 I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! 

4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. 

5 They are corrupt and not his children; to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation. 

6 Is this the way you repay the Lord, you foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you? 

7 Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. 

8 When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. 

9 For the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. 

10 In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, 

11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions. 

12 The Lord alone led him; no foreign god was with him. 

13 He made him ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields. He nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag, 

14 with curds and milk from herd and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, with choice rams of Bashan and the finest grains of wheat. You drank the foaming blood of the grape. 

15 Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Saviour. 

16 They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. 

17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God – gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear. 

18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. 

19 The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. 

20 ‘I will hide my face from them,’ he said, ‘and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. 

21 They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding. 

22 For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. 

23 ‘I will heap calamities on them and expend my arrows against them. 

24 I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust. 

25 In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with grey hair. 

26 I said I would scatter them and erase their name from human memory, 

27 but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, “Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.” ’ 

28 They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them. 

29 If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be! 

30 How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the Lord had given them up? 

31 For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede. 

32 Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness. 

33 Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras. 

34 ‘Have I not kept this in reserve and sealed it in my vaults? 

35 It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.’ 

36 The Lord will vindicate his people and relent concerning his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no-one is left, slave or free. 

37 He will say: ‘Now where are their gods, the rock they took refuge in, 

38 the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter! 

39 ‘See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no-one can deliver out of my hand. 

40 I lift my hand to heaven and solemnly swear: as surely as I live for ever, 

41 when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me. 

42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.’ 

43 Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people. 

44 Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people. 

45 When Moses had finished reciting all these words to all Israel, 

46 he said to them, ‘Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. 

47 They are not just idle words for you – they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.’ 

Moses to die on Mount Nebo

48 On that same day the Lord told Moses, 

49 ‘Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount Nebo in Moab, opposite Jericho, and view Canaan, the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession. 

50 There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. 

51 This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites. 

52 Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance; you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel.’

King James Version

1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. 

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: 

3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. 

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. 

6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? 

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. 

8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. 

9 For the LORD' portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. 

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. 

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: 

12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. 

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock; 

14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. 

15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness ; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. 

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods , with abominations provoked they him to anger. 

17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. 

18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. 

19 And when the LORD saw it , he abhorred them , because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. 

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be : for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. 

21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. 

22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. 

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. 

24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. 

25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. 

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: 

27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this. 

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. 

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! 

30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 

31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: 

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. 

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? 

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. 

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. 

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, 

38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. 

39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. 

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. 

41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. 

42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. 

43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. 

44 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun. 

45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel: 

46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. 

47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. 

48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, 

49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: 

50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: 

51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. 

52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee ; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.
