1Und dies ist der Segen, mit dem Mose, der Mann Gottes, die Kinder Israels vor seinem Tod gesegnet hat. (1Mo 49,20)25Deine Schuhe sollen von Eisen und Erz sein, und wie deine Tage, so sei deine Kraft! (5Mo 8,9; Ps 92,15; Jes 40,29; Mt 28,20)26Niemand ist gleich dem Gott Jeschuruns, der zu deiner Hilfe am Himmel einherfährt und auf den Wolken in seiner Majestät. (2Mo 15,11; 5Mo 4,34; Ps 68,35; Ps 104,3; Dan 7,13; Mt 24,30; Apg 1,9; Offb 1,7; Offb 14,14)27Eine Zuflucht ist [dir] der Gott der Urzeit, und unter dir sind ewige Arme. Er hat den Feind vor dir her gejagt und zu dir gesagt: Vertilge!« (Ps 36,8; Ps 91,1; Jes 26,4; Joe 4,16; Hebr 6,18)28»Und so kann Israel sicher wohnen, abgesondert der Quell Jakobs, in einem Land voll Korn und Most; und sein Himmel träufelt Tau. Er ist dein hilfreicher Schild und dein siegreiches Schwert. Deine Feinde werden dir Ergebung heucheln, du aber sollst über ihre Höhen hinwegschreiten!« (Jos 10,40; 2Sam 7,23; Ps 18,45; Ps 33,12; Ps 115,9)

Und er sprach: HERR, erhöre die Stimme Judas und bringe ihn zu seinem Volk; lass seine Macht groß werden und sei ihm Hilfe wider seine Feinde!8Und über Levi sprach er: Deine Lose »Licht und Recht« sollen bleiben bei deinem Getreuen, den du versucht hast zu Massa, für den du gestritten hast am Haderwasser, (2Mo 17,2; 2Mo 17,7; 2Mo 28,30; 1Sam 14,41; Ps 95,8)9der von seinem Vater und von seiner Mutter spricht: »Ich sehe ihn nicht«, und von seinem Bruder: »Ich kenne ihn nicht«, und von seinem Sohn: »Ich weiß nichts von ihm«. Die hüten dein Wort und bewahren deinen Bund; (2Mo 32,27; Mt 10,37)10sie lehren Jakob deine Rechte und Israel dein Gesetz; sie bringen Räucherwerk vor dein Angesicht und Ganzopfer auf deinen Altar.11HERR, segne seine Macht und lass dir gefallen die Werke seiner Hände! Zerschlage den Rücken derer, die sich wider ihn auflehnen, und derer, die ihn hassen, dass sie nicht aufkommen!12Und über Benjamin sprach er: Der Geliebte des HERRN wird sicher wohnen; allezeit wird Er die Hand über ihm halten und wird zwischen seinen Höhen wohnen.13Und über Josef sprach er: Gesegnet vom HERRN ist sein Land mit dem Köstlichsten vom Himmel droben, dem Tau, und mit der Flut, die drunten liegt, (1Mo 49,25)14mit dem Köstlichsten, was die Sonne hervorbringt, und mit dem Köstlichsten, was die Monde erzeugen,15mit dem Besten uralter Berge und mit dem Köstlichsten der ewigen Hügel,16mit dem Köstlichsten der Erde und ihrer Fülle. Die Gnade dessen, der in dem Dornbusch wohnte, komme auf das Haupt Josefs, auf den Scheitel des Geweihten unter seinen Brüdern. (1Mo 49,26; 2Mo 3,2)17Sein erstgeborener Stier ist voll Herrlichkeit, und seine Hörner sind wie die Hörner wilder Stiere; mit ihnen wird er die Völker stoßen bis an die Enden der Erde. Das sind die Zehntausende Ephraims und die Tausende Manasses. (1Mo 46,20)18Und über Sebulon sprach er: Sebulon, freue dich deiner Fahrten; und Issachar, freue dich deiner Zelte.19Sie werden die Stämme auf den Berg rufen und daselbst opfern rechte Opfer. Denn sie werden den Reichtum des Meeres gewinnen und die verborgenen Schätze im Sande.20Und über Gad sprach er: Gelobt sei, der Gad Raum schafft! Gad liegt da wie ein Löwe und zerreißt Schenkel und Scheitel.21Und er ersah sich ein Erstlingserbe; denn daselbst war für ihn eines Anführers Teil. Und es versammelten sich die Häupter des Volks, und er vollstreckte die Gerechtigkeit des HERRN und seine Gerichte zusammen mit Israel. (4Mo 32,29)22Und über Dan sprach er: Dan ist ein junger Löwe, der hervorspringt aus Baschan.23Und über Naftali sprach er: Naftali hat viel Gnade und ist voll Segens des HERRN; gegen Westen und Süden hat er Besitz.24Und über Asser sprach er: Asser ist gesegnet unter den Söhnen. Er sei der Liebling seiner Brüder und tauche seinen Fuß in Öl.25Von Eisen und Erz sei der Riegel deiner Tore; dein Alter sei wie deine Jugend!26Es ist kein Gott wie der Gott Jeschuruns, der am Himmel daherfährt dir zur Hilfe und in seiner Hoheit auf den Wolken. (5Mo 32,15)27Zuflucht ist bei dem Gott, der von alters her ist, und unter seinen ewigen Armen. Er hat vor dir her deinen Feind vertrieben und geboten: Vertilge!28Israel wohnt sicher, der Brunnquell Jakobs unbehelligt in dem Lande, da Korn und Wein ist, dessen Himmel von Tau trieft. (1Mo 27,28; 3Mo 25,18; 1Kön 5,5; Ps 68,27; Jes 51,1)29Wohl dir, Israel! Wer ist dir gleich? Du Volk, das sein Heil empfängt durch den HERRN, der deiner Hilfe Schild und das Schwert deines Sieges ist! Deine Feinde werden dir schmeicheln, und du wirst auf ihren Höhen einherschreiten. (5Mo 4,7; Ps 33,12; Ps 144,15)
1Und das ist der Segen, mit dem Mose, der Mann Gottes, die Israeliten segnete, bevor er starb. (5Mo 1,1)2Er sprach:
Der HERR kam hervor aus dem Sinai, / er leuchtete vor ihnen auf aus Seïr, / er strahlte aus dem Gebirge Paran, / er trat heraus aus Tausenden von Heiligen. / Ihm zur Rechten flammte vor ihnen das Feuer des Gesetzes.[1] (Ri 5,4; Ps 68,8; Mt 25,31; Jud 1,14)3Der du die Völker liebst: / In deiner Hand sind alle Heiligen eines jeden von ihnen. / Sie haben sich dir zu Füßen geworfen, / jeder wird sich erheben, wenn du es befiehlst.4Eine Weisung hat uns Mose geboten, / ein Besitztum für die Gemeinde Jakobs, (5Mo 5,22)5und ein König erstand in Jeschurun - / als sich die Häupter des Volkes versammelten, / die Vereinigung der Stämme Israels.[2]
Segen über die Stämme
6Ruben soll leben, er sterbe nicht aus - / doch habe er wenig Männer. (1Mo 49,3)7Und dies soll gelten für Juda: Und er sagte:
Höre, HERR, die Stimme Judas, / führ ihn heim zu seinem Volk. / Mit eigenen Händen kämpfe er dafür - / sei du ihm Hilfe gegen seine Feinde.8Und für Levi sagte er:
Deine Tummim und Urim gehören deinem treuen Gefolgsmann, / den du in Massa auf die Probe stelltest, / mit dem du strittest am Wasser von Meriba;[3] (2Mo 17,1; 4Mo 20,2; 1Sam 14,37)9der von seinem Vater und seiner Mutter sagte: / Ich habe beide nie gesehen! / und der seine Brüder nicht erkannte / und von seinen Kindern nichts wissen wollte. / Denn die Leviten haben auf dein Wort geachtet - / nun wachen sie über deinen Bund. (2Mo 32,27; Mt 10,37; Lk 14,26)10Sie lehren Jakob deine Rechtsvorschriften, / Israel deine Weisung. / Sie legen Weihrauch auf, damit du ihn riechst, / legen das Ganzopfer auf deinen Altar.11Segne, HERR, Levis Besitz, / freu dich am Werk seiner Hände! / Zerschlag seinen Feinden die Hüften, / seinen Hassern, sodass sie sich nicht mehr erheben.12Für Benjamin sagte er:
Der Liebling des HERRN, / er wohnt in Sicherheit bei ihm. / Er beschirmt ihn allezeit / und zwischen seinen Schultern wohnt er.13Und für Josef sagte er:
Sein Land sei vom HERRN gesegnet / mit Köstlichem des Himmels, mit Tau, / mit Grundwasser, das in der Tiefe lagert,14mit Köstlichem aus den Erzeugnissen der Sonne, / mit Köstlichem aus dem, was jeden Monat sprießt,15mit dem Besten uralter Berge, / mit Köstlichem ewiger Hügel,16mit Köstlichem des Landes und seiner Bewohner. / Die Gnade dessen, der im Dornbusch wohnt, / komme über Josefs Haupt, / auf den Scheitel des Geweihten aus seiner Brüder Schar. (2Mo 3,2)17Der Erstling seines Stiers - wie herrlich ist er! / Seine Hörner sind Büffelhörner. / Mit ihnen stoße er die Völker nieder / bis an die Enden der Erde. / Das sind die Zehntausende aus Efraim, / das sind die Tausende aus Manasse.18Und für Sebulon sagte er:
Lache, Sebulon, wenn du in See stichst, / und du, Issachar, in deinen Zelten!19Sie werden Völker zum Berge rufen, / dort werden sie gültige Opfer schlachten. / Denn sie nähren sich vom Überfluss der Meere, / von Schätzen, die im Sand verborgen sind.20Und für Gad sagte er:
Gepriesen sei der, der Gad Raum schafft. / Gad lauert wie ein Löwe, / Arm und Kopf reißt er ab.21Das erste Stück hat er sich ausgesucht, / denn dort ist der Anteil des verborgenen Anführers / und dort erschien jeder aus den Häuptern des Volkes. / Was recht ist vor dem HERRN, führte er aus, / dessen Rechtsentscheide gemeinsam mit Israel.22Und für Dan sagte er:
Dan ist ein junger Löwe, / der aus dem Baschan hervorspringt.23Und für Naftali sagte er:
Naftali, gesättigt mit Gnade, / gefüllt mit dem Segen des HERRN - / See und Süden nimm in Besitz!24Und für Ascher sagte er:
Mehr als die anderen Söhne sei Ascher gesegnet, / bei seinen Brüdern sei er beliebt, / er bade seinen Fuß in Öl.25Deine Riegel seien von Eisen und Bronze. / Hab Stärke, solange du lebst!
Schluss
26Keiner ist wie der Gott Jeschuruns, / der in den Himmel steigt, um dir zu helfen, / auf die Wolken in seiner Hoheit.[4] (Ps 68,5)27Eine Wohnung ist der Gott der Urzeit, / von unten tragen sie die Arme des Ewigen. / Er trieb den Feind vor dir her, / er sagte: Vernichte! (Ps 90,1)28So siedelte Israel sich sicher an, / die Quelle Jakobs für sich allein, / in einem Land voller Korn und Wein, / dessen Himmel Tau träufeln lässt. (1Mo 27,28)29Wie glücklich bist du, Israel! / Wer ist dir gleich, du Volk, / gerettet durch den HERRN, / den Schild, der dir hilft, / deine Hoheit, wenn das Schwert kommt? Deine Feinde werden sich vor dir erniedrigen / und du setzt deinen Fuß auf ihre Rücken.

He came with[1] myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes.[2]3Surely it is you who love the people; all the holy ones are in your hand. At your feet they all bow down, and from you receive instruction,4the law that Moses gave us, the possession of the assembly of Jacob.5He was king over Jeshurun[3] when the leaders of the people assembled, along with the tribes of Israel.6‘Let Reuben live and not die, nor[4] his people be few.’7And this he said about Judah: ‘Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!’8About Levi he said: ‘Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah.9He said of his father and mother, “I have no regard for them.” He did not recognise his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over your word and guarded your covenant.10He teaches your precepts to Jacob and your law to Israel. He offers incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.11Bless all his skills, Lord, and be pleased with the work of his hands. Strike down those who rise against him, his foes till they rise no more.’12About Benjamin he said: ‘Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.’13About Joseph he said: ‘May the Lord bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below;14with the best the sun brings forth and the finest the moon can yield;15with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills;16with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favour of him who dwelt in the burning bush. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among[5] his brothers.17In majesty he is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim; such are the thousands of Manasseh.’18About Zebulun he said: ‘Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents.19They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer the sacrifices of the righteous; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.’20About Gad he said: ‘Blessed is he who enlarges Gad’s domain! Gad lives there like a lion, tearing at arm or head.21He chose the best land for himself; the leader’s portion was kept for him. When the heads of the people assembled, he carried out the Lord’s righteous will, and his judgments concerning Israel.’22About Dan he said: ‘Dan is a lion’s cub, springing out of Bashan.’23About Naphtali he said: ‘Naphtali is abounding with the favour of the Lord and is full of his blessing; he will inherit southward to the lake.’24About Asher he said: ‘Most blessed of sons is Asher; let him be favoured by his brothers, and let him bathe his feet in oil.25The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days.26‘There is no-one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty.27The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, “Destroy them!”28So Israel will live in safety; Jacob will dwell[6] secure in a land of grain and new wine, where the heavens drop dew.29Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.’
