1Es wird aber geschehen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, wirklich gehorchst und darauf achtest, alle seine Gebote zu tun, die ich dir heute gebiete, dann wird dich der HERR, dein Gott, als höchstes über alle Völker der Erde setzen. (2Mo 15,26; 3Mo 26,3; 5Mo 11,13; 5Mo 11,27; 5Mo 26,19; Ps 112,1; Ps 128,1; Jes 1,19)2Und alle diese Segnungen werden über dich kommen und dich erreichen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorchst: (5Mo 26,15; 5Mo 28,15; Jes 3,10; 1Tim 4,8)3Gesegnet wirst du sein in der Stadt und gesegnet auf dem Feld. (1Mo 39,5; 5Mo 14,29; Ps 112,1; Ps 128,1)4Gesegnet wird sein die Frucht deines Leibes und die Frucht deines Landes, die Frucht deines Viehs, der Wurf deiner Rinder und die Zucht deiner Schafe. (5Mo 7,13; 5Mo 28,11; Ps 107,38)5Gesegnet wird sein dein Korb und dein Backtrog. (Joe 2,24)6Gesegnet wirst du sein bei deinem Eingang und gesegnet bei deinem Ausgang. (4Mo 10,35; Ps 121,8)7Der HERR wird deine Feinde, die sich gegen dich auflehnen, vor dir geschlagen dahingeben; auf einem Weg werden sie gegen dich ausziehen und auf sieben Wegen vor dir fliehen. (3Mo 26,7; Ps 18,38; Ps 89,24)8Der HERR wird dem Segen gebieten, dass er mit dir sei in deinen Scheunen und in allem, was du unternimmst, und er wird dich segnen in dem Land, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt. (5Mo 14,29; 5Mo 26,15; Ps 1,3; Spr 3,10)9Der HERR wird dich als heiliges Volk für sich bestätigen, wie er dir geschworen hat, wenn du die Gebote des HERRN, deines Gottes, hältst und in seinen Wegen wandelst; (5Mo 6,17; 5Mo 11,22; 1Kön 6,12)10dann werden alle Völker auf Erden sehen, dass der Name des HERRN über dir ausgerufen ist, und werden sich vor dir fürchten. (5Mo 11,25; 2Chr 17,10; Jes 43,7; Jes 61,9; Jak 2,7; 1Joh 3,1; 1Joh 5,11)11Und der HERR wird dir Überfluss geben an Gütern, an der Frucht deines Leibes, an der Frucht deines Viehs und an der Frucht deines Ackers, in dem Land, von dem der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat, dass er es dir gebe. (Hi 5,25; Ps 65,10; Spr 10,22)12Der HERR wird dir den Himmel, seinen guten Schatz, auftun, um deinem Land Regen zu geben zu seiner Zeit, und um alle Werke deiner Hände zu segnen. Und du wirst vielen Völkern leihen; du aber wirst dir nichts ausleihen müssen. (5Mo 11,14; 5Mo 15,6; 2Kor 9,8; Phil 4,19)13Und der HERR wird dich zum Haupt setzen und nicht zum Schwanz; und es wird mit dir immer nur aufwärtsgehen und nicht abwärts, wenn du den Geboten des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorchst, die ich dir heute gebiete, dass du sie bewahrst und tust, (1Kön 5,1; Röm 8,37; 2Kor 2,14; Jud 1,24)14und wenn du nicht abweichen wirst von all den Worten, die ich euch heute gebiete, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, sodass du nicht anderen Göttern nachwandelst, um ihnen zu dienen. Fluch für Ungehorsam
15Es wird aber geschehen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht gehorchst, sodass du alle seine Gebote und Satzungen nicht bewahrst und tust, die ich dir heute gebiete, so werden all diese Flüche über dich kommen und dich treffen: (3Mo 26,14; Jos 23,16; Ri 2,11; Mal 2,2; Gal 6,7)16Verflucht wirst du sein in der Stadt und verflucht auf dem Feld. (Spr 3,33)17Verflucht wird sein dein Korb und dein Backtrog. (5Mo 28,5; Hag 1,6)18Verflucht wird sein die Frucht deines Leibes, die Frucht deines Landes, der Wurf deiner Rinder und die Zucht deiner Schafe. (5Mo 28,4; Hos 9,12)19Verflucht wirst du sein bei deinem Eingang und verflucht bei deinem Ausgang. (Ri 5,6; 2Chr 15,5)20Der HERR wird gegen dich Fluch, Bestürzung und Bedrohung entsenden in allem, was du unternimmst, bis du vertilgt wirst und schnell umkommst um deiner bösen Werke willen, weil du mich verlassen hast. (5Mo 4,26; Ri 2,15; Jes 24,17)21Der HERR wird dir die Pest anhängen, bis er dich vertilgt hat aus dem Land, in das du kommst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (3Mo 26,25; Jer 24,10; Am 4,10)22Der HERR wird dich mit Schwindsucht schlagen, mit Fieberhitze, Brand, Entzündung, Dürre, mit Getreidebrand und Vergilben; die werden dich verfolgen, bis du umgekommen bist. (1Kön 8,37; Hag 1,11; Hag 2,17; Sach 11,17)23Der Himmel über deinem Haupt wird für dich zu Erz werden und die Erde unter dir zu Eisen. (3Mo 26,19)24Der HERR wird den Regen für dein Land in Sand und Staub verwandeln; der wird vom Himmel auf dich herabfallen, bis du vertilgt bist. (2Mo 9,9)25Der HERR wird dich vor deinen Feinden geschlagen dahingeben; auf einem Weg wirst du gegen sie ausziehen, und auf sieben Wegen wirst du vor ihnen fliehen, und du wirst ein Anblick des Schreckens werden für alle Königreiche auf Erden. (3Mo 26,17; Jes 30,17; Jer 15,4)26Und deine Leichname werden allen Vögeln des Himmels und allen Tieren zur Nahrung dienen, und niemand wird sie verscheuchen. (Ps 79,2; Jer 7,33)27Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit den Geschwüren Ägyptens und mit Beulen, mit Räude und Krätze, sodass du nicht geheilt werden kannst. (2Mo 9,10; 5Mo 28,35; 1Sam 5,6; 1Sam 5,9)28Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit Wahnsinn und mit Blindheit und mit Verwirrung der Sinne. (Jes 29,14; Jer 8,9; Zef 1,17; Apg 13,11)29Und du wirst am Mittag umhertappen, wie ein Blinder im Dunkeln umhertappt, und wirst kein Gelingen haben auf deinen Wegen, sondern wirst bedrückt und beraubt sein dein Leben lang, und kein Retter wird da sein. (5Mo 28,20; Ri 2,14; 2Chr 28,18)30Du wirst dich mit einer Frau verloben, aber ein anderer wird mit ihr schlafen; du wirst ein Haus bauen, aber nicht darin wohnen; du wirst einen Weinberg pflanzen, aber ihn nicht nutzen. (Jer 8,10; Kla 5,2; Am 5,11; Mi 6,15; Zef 1,13)31Dein Rind wird vor deinen Augen geschlachtet werden, aber du wirst nicht davon essen; dein Esel wird vor deinem Angesicht geraubt und dir nicht zurückgegeben werden; deine Schafe werden deinen Feinden gegeben werden, und du wirst keinen Retter haben. (Ri 6,1)
Bedrückung durch Heidenvölker
32Deine Söhne und deine Töchter werden einem anderen Volk gegeben werden, und deine Augen müssen es ansehen und den ganzen Tag nach ihnen schmachten, aber deine Hand wird machtlos sein. (Joe 4,6)33Die Frucht deines Landes und alles, was du erarbeitet hast, wird ein Volk verzehren, von dem du nichts wusstest; und du wirst nur unterdrückt und misshandelt werden alle Tage; (5Mo 28,51; Neh 9,36; Jer 5,17)34und du wirst wahnsinnig werden von dem, was deine Augen sehen müssen. (5Mo 28,28; 5Mo 28,68; Jes 33,14; Jer 25,15; Jer 25,27)35Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit bösem Geschwür an Knien und Schenkeln, dass du nicht geheilt werden kannst, von deiner Fußsohle bis zum Scheitel. (Hi 2,7)36Der HERR wird dich und deinen König, den du über dich setzen wirst, zu einem Volk führen, das du nicht kennst, auch deine Väter nicht, und du wirst dort anderen Göttern dienen, Holz und Steinen. (5Mo 4,28; 5Mo 28,64; 2Kön 17,4; 2Kön 24,12; 2Kön 25,7; 2Chr 33,11)37Und du wirst zum Entsetzen werden, zum Sprichwort und zum Gespött unter allen Völkern, zu denen der HERR dich vertreiben wird. (1Kön 9,7; Ps 44,14; Jer 24,9)38Du wirst viel Samen auf das Feld hinausbringen und wenig einsammeln, denn die Heuschrecken werden es abfressen. (Jer 12,13; Joe 1,4; Am 7,1; Hag 1,6)39Du wirst Weinberge pflanzen und bebauen, aber keinen Wein trinken und einkellern, denn die Würmer werden es abfressen. (Am 4,9; Hab 3,17)40Du wirst Ölbäume haben in deinem ganzen Gebiet; aber du wirst dich nicht mit Öl salben, denn dein Ölbaum wird [seine Früchte] abwerfen. (Mi 6,15)41Du wirst Söhne und Töchter zeugen und doch keine haben, denn sie werden in die Gefangenschaft gehen. (Kla 1,5)42Das Ungeziefer wird alle deine Bäume und die Früchte deines Landes in Besitz nehmen. (Am 4,9)43Der Fremdling, der in deiner Mitte wohnt, wird immer höher über dich emporsteigen, du aber wirst immer tiefer herunterkommen. (5Mo 28,12; Ri 2,14; 1Chr 28,19)44Er wird dir leihen, du aber wirst ihm nicht leihen; er wird zum Haupt werden, du aber wirst zum Schwanz werden. (5Mo 28,43)45Und alle diese Flüche werden über dich kommen und dich verfolgen und einholen, bis du vertilgt sein wirst, weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht gehorsam gewesen bist, seine Gebote und Satzungen zu befolgen, die er dir geboten hat; (5Mo 28,15; 2Kön 17,20; Hi 34,11; Jer 17,10)46und sie werden als Zeichen und Wunder an dir haften und an deinem Samen ewiglich. (Hes 14,8; Hes 36,20; 1Kor 10,11)47Dafür, dass du dem HERRN, deinem Gott, nicht gedient hast mit fröhlichem und bereitwilligem Herzen, als du an allem Überfluss hattest, (5Mo 12,12; 5Mo 32,15; Neh 9,35; Ps 81,2)48musst du deinen Feinden, die der HERR gegen dich senden wird, dienen in Hunger und Durst, in Blöße und in Mangel an allem; und er wird ein eisernes Joch auf deinen Hals legen, bis er dich vertilgt hat. (2Chr 12,8; Jer 5,19; Jer 28,13; Kla 5,2)
Ankündigung der Vertreibung und Gefangenschaft
49Der HERR wird ein Volk aus der Ferne gegen dich aufbieten, vom Ende der Erde, das wie ein Adler daherfliegt, ein Volk, dessen Sprache du nicht verstehen kannst, (Jer 4,13; Jer 5,15; Jer 48,40; Jer 49,22; Kla 4,19; Hes 17,3; Hos 8,1; Hab 1,6; Hab 1,8)50ein Volk mit hartem Angesicht, das keine Rücksicht kennt gegen den Greis und mit den Knaben kein Erbarmen hat. (2Chr 36,17; Jes 47,6)51Es wird die Frucht deines Viehs und die Frucht deines Landes verzehren, bis du vertilgt sein wirst, und dir nichts übrig lassen von Korn, Most und Öl, vom Wurf deiner Rinder und von der Zucht deiner Schafe, bis es dich zugrunde gerichtet hat. (5Mo 28,33; Kla 4,9)52Und es wird dich bedrängen in allen deinen Toren, bis deine hohen und festen Mauern, auf die du in deinem ganzen Land vertraust, gefallen sind. Ja, es wird dich bedrängen in allen deinen Toren, in deinem ganzen Land, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat. (2Kön 25,1; Lk 19,43)53Dann wirst du die Frucht deines Leibes essen, das Fleisch deiner Söhne und deiner Töchter, die dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat — in der Belagerung und Bedrängnis, mit der dich dein Feind bedrängen wird. (2Kön 6,28; Jer 19,9; Kla 2,20; Hes 5,10; Lk 23,29)54Der verweichlichtste und verwöhnteste Mann bei dir wird dann missgünstig auf seinen Bruder blicken und auf seine geliebte Ehefrau und auf den Rest seiner Kinder, die er übrig behalten hat, (5Mo 13,7)55sodass er keinem von ihnen etwas von dem Fleisch seiner Kinder gibt, das er essen muss, weil ihm nichts übrig geblieben ist in der Belagerung und Bedrängnis, mit der dich dein Feind in allen deinen Toren bedrängen wird. (Kla 4,4)56Auch die verweichlichtste und verwöhnteste Frau unter euch, die so verweichlicht und verwöhnt ist, dass sie nicht einmal versucht hat, ihre Fußsohle auf die Erde zu setzen, die wird missgünstig auf ihren geliebten Ehemann und ihren Sohn und ihre Tochter blicken (Jes 32,9; Kla 4,5)57und auf ihre Nachgeburt, die zwischen ihren Beinen hervorkommt, und auf ihre Kinder, die sie gebiert; denn sie wird dieselben vor lauter Mangel heimlich essen in der Belagerung und Bedrängnis, mit der dich dein Feind in deinen Toren bedrängen wird. (5Mo 28,53; Jes 49,15)58Wenn du nicht darauf achten wirst, alle Worte dieses Gesetzes zu tun, die in diesem Buch geschrieben sind, sodass du diesen herrlichen und furchtgebietenden Namen, den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchtest, (2Mo 3,15; 2Mo 6,3; 2Mo 6,7; 2Mo 15,3; 2Mo 20,2; Neh 9,5; Ps 99,3; Mt 6,9)59so wird der HERR dich und deinen Samen mit außerordentlichen Plagen treffen, ja, mit großen und andauernden Plagen und mit bösen und andauernden Krankheiten; (Dan 9,12; Mk 13,19)60und er wird alle Seuchen Ägyptens über dich bringen, vor denen du dich fürchtest, und sie werden dir anhaften, (2Mo 15,26; 5Mo 7,15)61dazu alle Krankheiten und Plagen, die nicht in dem Buch dieses Gesetzes geschrieben sind — der HERR wird sie über dich kommen lassen, bis du vertilgt sein wirst! (5Mo 4,25; 5Mo 29,20; Neh 8,1; Neh 8,18; Offb 22,18)62Und ihr werdet als ein kleines Häuflein übrig bleiben, die ihr doch so zahlreich gewesen seid wie die Sterne des Himmels, weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht gehorcht hast. (1Mo 15,5; 5Mo 4,27; 5Mo 10,22; Jes 6,11; Jes 24,6; Jer 24,2)63Und wie der HERR sich euretwegen zuvor freute, euch Gutes zu tun und euch zu mehren, so wird der HERR sich euretwegen freuen, euch zu verderben und euch zu vertilgen, und ihr werdet herausgerissen werden aus dem Land, in das du jetzt ziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (5Mo 30,9; Spr 1,26; Jes 1,24)64Denn der HERR wird dich unter alle Völker zerstreuen von einem Ende der Erde bis zum anderen; und du wirst dort anderen Göttern dienen, die dir und deinen Vätern unbekannt waren, [Göttern aus] Holz und Stein. (5Mo 4,27; 5Mo 28,36; 5Mo 32,17; 2Chr 36,11; Jer 9,16; Jer 16,14; Lk 21,24)65Dazu wirst du unter diesen Heiden keine Ruhe haben und keine Rast finden für deine Fußsohlen; denn der HERR wird dir dort ein bebendes Herz geben, erlöschende Augen und eine verzagende Seele. (Kla 1,3; Am 9,4)66Dein Leben wird vor dir an einem Faden hängen; Tag und Nacht wirst du dich fürchten und deines Lebens nicht sicher sein. (3Mo 26,36; Kla 1,13; Offb 6,15)67Am Morgen wirst du sagen: »Wenn es nur schon Abend wäre!« Und am Abend wirst du sagen: »Wenn es nur schon Morgen wäre!« — wegen der Angst, die dein Herz erschreckt, und wegen dessen, was deine Augen ansehen müssen. (Hi 7,4; Offb 9,6)68Und der HERR wird dich auf Schiffen nach Ägypten zurückführen, auf dem Weg, von dem ich dir gesagt habe: Du wirst ihn nie mehr sehen! Und ihr werdet euch dort euren Feinden als Knechte und Mägde verkaufen wollen, und es wird doch kein Käufer da sein! (2Mo 13,17; 5Mo 17,16; Ps 123,3; Jer 6,30; Jer 44,12; Hos 8,13)69Dies sind die Worte des Bundes, von dem der HERR dem Mose gebot, ihn mit den Kindern Israels zu schließen im Land Moab — außer dem Bund, den er mit ihnen am Horeb geschlossen hatte.[1] (5Mo 1,5; 5Mo 5,2; 2Chr 15,9; 2Chr 34,29)
1Wenn du nun der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorchen wirst, dass du hältst und tust alle seine Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete, so wird dich der HERR, dein Gott, zum höchsten über alle Völker auf Erden machen. (5Mo 26,19)2Und es werden über dich kommen alle diese Segnungen, und sie werden dich treffen, weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorsam gewesen bist.3Gesegnet wirst du sein in der Stadt, gesegnet wirst du sein auf dem Acker. (1Mo 49,25)4Gesegnet wird sein die Frucht deines Leibes, der Ertrag deines Ackers und die Jungtiere deines Viehs, deiner Rinder und deiner Schafe.5Gesegnet wird sein dein Korb und dein Backtrog.6Gesegnet wirst du sein bei deinem Eingang und gesegnet bei deinem Ausgang. (Ps 121,8)7Und der HERR wird deine Feinde, die sich gegen dich erheben, vor dir schlagen. Auf einem Weg sollen sie ausziehen wider dich und auf sieben Wegen vor dir fliehen.8Der HERR wird gebieten dem Segen, dass er mit dir sei in deinen Scheunen und in allem, was du unternimmst, und wird dich segnen in dem Land, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt. (3Mo 25,21)9Der HERR wird dich zum heiligen Volk für sich erheben, wie er dir geschworen hat, weil du die Gebote des HERRN, deines Gottes, hältst und in seinen Wegen wandelst. (2Mo 19,5)10Und alle Völker auf Erden werden sehen, dass über dir der Name des HERRN genannt ist, und werden sich vor dir fürchten.11Und der HERR wird machen, dass du Überfluss an Gutem haben wirst, an Frucht deines Leibes, an Jungtieren deines Viehs, an Ertrag deines Ackers, in dem Lande, das der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat, dir zu geben.12Und der HERR wird dir seinen guten Schatz auftun, den Himmel, dass er deinem Land Regen gebe zur rechten Zeit und dass er segne alle Werke deiner Hände. Und du wirst vielen Völkern leihen, aber von niemand borgen. (5Mo 15,6)13Und der HERR wird dich zum Kopf machen und nicht zum Schwanz, und du wirst immer aufwärtssteigen und nicht heruntersinken, weil du gehorsam bist den Geboten des HERRN, deines Gottes, die ich dir heute gebiete zu halten und zu tun,14und nicht abweichst von all den Worten, die ich euch heute gebiete, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, und nicht andern Göttern nachwandelst, um ihnen zu dienen. (5Mo 5,29; 5Mo 5,32)15Wenn du aber nicht gehorchen wirst der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, und wirst nicht halten und tun alle seine Gebote und Rechte, die ich dir heute gebiete, so werden alle diese Flüche über dich kommen und dich treffen: (Dan 9,11)16Verflucht wirst du sein in der Stadt, verflucht wirst du sein auf dem Acker.17Verflucht wird sein dein Korb und dein Backtrog.18Verflucht wird sein die Frucht deines Leibes, der Ertrag deines Ackers, das Jungvieh deiner Rinder und Schafe.19Verflucht wirst du sein bei deinem Eingang und verflucht bei deinem Ausgang.20Der HERR wird unter dich senden Unfrieden, Unruhe und Unglück in allem, was du unternimmst, bis du vertilgt bist und bald untergegangen bist um deines bösen Treibens willen, weil du mich verlassen hast.21Der HERR wird dir die Pest anhängen, bis er dich vertilgt hat in dem Lande, in das du kommst, es einzunehmen.22Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit Auszehrung, Entzündung, Fieber, Wundbrand, Dürre, Getreidebrand und Getreiderost; die werden dich verfolgen, bis du umkommst.23Der Himmel, der über deinem Haupt ist, wird ehern werden und die Erde unter dir eisern. (5Mo 11,17)24Statt des Regens für dein Land wird der HERR Staub und Asche vom Himmel auf dich geben, bis du vertilgt bist.25Der HERR wird dich vor deinen Feinden schlagen. Auf einem Weg wirst du wider sie ausziehen, und auf sieben Wegen wirst du vor ihnen fliehen und wirst zum Entsetzen werden für alle Reiche auf Erden.26Deine Leichname werden zum Fraß werden allen Vögeln des Himmels und allen Tieren des Landes, und niemand wird sein, der sie verscheucht. (1Sam 17,45; 2Sam 21,10)27Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit ägyptischem Geschwür, Beulen, Krätze und Ausschlag, dass du nicht geheilt werden kannst. (2Mo 9,9)28Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit Wahnsinn, Blindheit und Verwirrung des Geistes.29Und du wirst tappen am Mittag, wie ein Blinder tappt im Dunkeln, und wirst auf deinem Wege kein Glück haben, sondern Gewalt und Unrecht leiden müssen dein Leben lang, und niemand wird dir helfen. (Jes 59,10)30Mit einer Frau wirst du dich verloben; aber ein anderer wird bei ihr schlafen. Ein Haus wirst du bauen; aber du wirst nicht darin wohnen. Einen Weinberg wirst du pflanzen; aber du wirst nichts von ihm haben. (Jes 65,22)31Dein Rind wird vor deinen Augen geschlachtet werden; aber du wirst nicht davon essen. Dein Esel wird vor deinem Angesicht mit Gewalt genommen und nicht zu dir zurückkommen. Dein Schaf wird deinen Feinden gegeben werden, und niemand wird dir helfen.32Deine Söhne und deine Töchter werden einem andern Volk gegeben werden, dass deine Augen zusehen müssen und täglich vor Verlangen nach ihnen vergehen, und in deinen Händen wird keine Kraft sein.33Den Ertrag deines Ackers und alle deine Arbeit wird ein Volk verzehren, das du nicht kennst, und du wirst geplagt und geschunden werden dein Leben lang (Ri 6,3)34und wirst wahnsinnig werden bei dem, was deine Augen sehen müssen.35Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit bösen Geschwüren an den Knien und Waden, dass du nicht geheilt werden kannst, von den Fußsohlen bis zum Scheitel.36Der HERR wird dich und deinen König, den du über dich gesetzt hast, unter ein Volk treiben, das du nicht kennst noch deine Väter, und du wirst dort andern Göttern dienen: Holz und Stein. (5Mo 4,28)37Und du wirst zum Entsetzen, zum Sprichwort und zum Spott werden unter allen Völkern, zu denen der HERR dich treibt. (1Kön 9,7; Jer 24,9)38Du wirst viel Samen auf das Feld säen, aber wenig einsammeln; denn die Heuschrecken werden’s abfressen. (Mi 6,15)39Weinberge wirst du pflanzen und bauen, aber weder Wein trinken noch Trauben lesen; denn die Würmer werden’s verzehren.40Ölbäume wirst du haben in deinem ganzen Gebiet, aber du wirst dich nicht salben mit Öl; denn dein Ölbaum wird seine Frucht abwerfen.41Söhne und Töchter wirst du zeugen und doch nicht behalten; denn sie werden gefangen weggeführt werden.42Über alle Bäume und Früchte deines Landes wird das Ungeziefer herfallen.43Der Fremdling, der bei dir ist, wird immer höher über dich emporsteigen; du aber wirst immer tiefer heruntersinken.44Er wird dir leihen, du aber wirst ihm nicht leihen können; er wird der Kopf sein, und du wirst der Schwanz sein.45Alle diese Flüche werden über dich kommen und dich verfolgen und treffen, bis du vertilgt bist, weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, nicht gehorcht und seine Gebote und Rechte nicht gehalten hast, die er dir geboten hat.46Und diese Flüche werden Zeichen und Wunder sein an dir und an deinen Nachkommen immerdar,47weil du dem HERRN, deinem Gott, nicht gedient hast mit Freude und Lust deines Herzens, obwohl du Überfluss hattest an allem.48Und du wirst deinem Feinde, den der HERR gegen dich schicken wird, dienen in Hunger und Durst, in Blöße und allerlei Mangel, und er wird ein eisernes Joch auf deinen Hals legen, bis er dich vertilgt hat. (Jer 28,13)49Der HERR wird ein Volk über dich schicken von ferne, vom Ende der Erde, wie ein Adler fliegt, ein Volk, dessen Sprache du nicht verstehst, (Jes 33,19; Jer 5,15; Hab 1,8)50ein freches Volk, das nicht Rücksicht nimmt auf die Alten und die Jungen nicht schont. (Kla 5,12)51Es wird verzehren die Jungtiere deines Viehs und den Ertrag deines Ackers, bis du vertilgt bist, und wird dir nichts übrig lassen vom Korn, Wein und Öl und vom Jungvieh deiner Rinder und Schafe, bis es dich umgebracht hat.52Es wird dich belagern in allen deinen Städten, bis es niedergeworfen hat deine hohen und festen Mauern, auf die du dich verlässt, in deinem ganzen Lande; und du wirst belagert werden in allen deinen Städten, in deinem ganzen Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat.53Du wirst die Frucht deines Leibes, das Fleisch deiner Söhne und deiner Töchter, die dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat, essen in der Angst und Not, mit der dich dein Feind bedrängen wird. (3Mo 26,29; 2Kön 6,28; Jer 19,9; Kla 2,20; Kla 4,10; Hes 5,10)54Ein Mann unter euch, der zuvor verwöhnt und in Üppigkeit gelebt hat, wird seinem Bruder und der Frau in seinen Armen und dem Sohn, der noch übrig ist von seinen Söhnen, nichts gönnen55von dem Fleisch seiner Söhne, das er isst, weil ihm nichts übrig geblieben ist von allem Gut in der Angst und Not, mit der dich dein Feind bedrängen wird in allen deinen Städten.56Eine Frau unter euch, die zuvor so verwöhnt und in Üppigkeit gelebt hat, dass sie nicht einmal versucht hat, ihre Fußsohle auf die Erde zu setzen, vor Verwöhnung und Wohlleben, die wird dem Mann in ihren Armen und ihrem Sohn und ihrer Tochter nicht gönnen57die Nachgeburt, die von ihr ausgegangen ist, und ihr Kind, das sie geboren hat; denn sie wird beides vor Mangel an allem heimlich essen in der Angst und Not, mit der dich dein Feind bedrängen wird in deinen Städten.58Wenn du nicht darauf hältst, dass du alle Worte dieses Gesetzes tust, die in diesem Buch geschrieben sind, und nicht fürchtest diesen herrlichen und heiligen Namen, den HERRN, deinen Gott,59so wird der HERR schrecklich mit dir umgehen und dich und deine Nachkommen schlagen mit großen und anhaltenden Plagen, mit bösen und anhaltenden Krankheiten.60Und er wird auch alle Seuchen Ägyptens über dich bringen, vor denen du dich fürchtest, und sie werden dich nicht loslassen; (5Mo 27,1)61dazu wird der HERR alle Krankheiten und alle Plagen, die nicht geschrieben sind in dem Buch dieses Gesetzes, über dich kommen lassen, bis du vertilgt bist.62Und nur wenige werden übrig bleiben von euch, die ihr zuvor zahlreich gewesen seid wie die Sterne am Himmel, weil du nicht gehorcht hast der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes.63Und wie sich der HERR zuvor freute, euch Gutes zu tun und euch zu mehren, so wird er sich nun freuen, euch umzubringen und zu vertilgen, und ihr werdet herausgerissen werden aus dem Lande, in das du jetzt ziehst, es einzunehmen. (Spr 1,26)64Denn der HERR wird dich zerstreuen unter alle Völker von einem Ende der Erde bis ans andere, und du wirst dort andern Göttern dienen, die du nicht kennst noch deine Väter: Holz und Stein.65Dazu wirst du unter jenen Völkern keine Ruhe haben, und deine Füße werden keine Ruhestatt finden. Denn der HERR wird dir dort ein bebendes Herz geben und erlöschende Augen und eine verzagende Seele,66und dein Leben wird immerdar in Gefahr schweben; Nacht und Tag wirst du dich fürchten und deines Lebens nicht sicher sein.67Morgens wirst du sagen: Ach dass es Abend wäre!, und abends wirst du sagen: Ach dass es Morgen wäre!, vor Furcht deines Herzens, die dich schrecken wird, und vor dem, was du mit deinen Augen sehen wirst.68Und der HERR wird dich mit Schiffen wieder nach Ägypten führen, auf dem Wege, von dem ich dir gesagt habe: Du sollst ihn nicht mehr sehen. Und ihr werdet dort euren Feinden als Knechte und Mägde verkauft werden, aber es wird kein Käufer da sein. (5Mo 17,16; Hos 8,13)
Der Bund des Herrn mit Israel im Lande Moab

Abschluss der Verkündigung des Gesetzes Segen für Gehorsam
1Wenn du auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, hörst, indem du alle seine Gebote, auf die ich dich heute verpflichte, bewahrst und sie hältst, wird dich der HERR, dein Gott, über alle Völker der Erde erheben. (3Mo 26,3; 5Mo 7,12; 5Mo 11,13; 5Mo 26,19; 5Mo 27,10; 5Mo 28,15; 5Mo 30,16)2Alle diese Segnungen werden über dich kommen und dich erreichen, wenn du auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, hörst:3Gesegnet bist du in der Stadt, gesegnet bist du auf dem Land.4Gesegnet ist die Frucht deines Leibes, die Frucht deines Ackers und die Frucht deines Viehs, der Wurf deiner Rinder und der Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein. An viele Völker kannst du ausleihen und du brauchst nichts zu entleihen. (5Mo 2,7; 5Mo 14,29; 5Mo 15,6; 5Mo 16,15; 5Mo 24,19; 5Mo 30,9)13Der HERR macht dich zum Kopf und nicht zum Schwanz. Du kennst nur den Aufstieg, du kennst keinen Abstieg, wenn du auf die Gebote des HERRN, deines Gottes, auf die ich dich heute verpflichte, hörst, sie bewahrst und sie hältst.14Von allen Worten, auf die ich euch heute verpflichte, sollst du weder rechts noch links abweichen. Du sollst nicht anderen Göttern nachfolgen und ihnen dienen. (5Mo 6,14; 5Mo 7,4)
Abschluss der Verkündigung des Gesetzes Fluch für Ungehorsam
15Wenn du nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, hörst, indem du nicht alle seine Gebote und Satzungen, auf die ich dich heute verpflichte, bewahrst und sie nicht hältst, werden alle diese Verfluchungen über dich kommen und dich erreichen: (3Mo 26,14; 5Mo 4,25; 5Mo 8,19; 5Mo 11,16; 5Mo 28,1; 5Mo 30,17)16Verflucht bist du in der Stadt, verflucht bist du auf dem Land.17Verflucht ist dein Korb und dein Backtrog.18Verflucht ist die Frucht deines Leibes und die Frucht deines Ackers, der Wurf deiner Rinder und der Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein.19Verflucht bist du, wenn du heimkehrst, verflucht bist du, wenn du ausziehst.20Verfluchtsein, Verwirrtsein, Verwünschtsein lässt der HERR auf dich los, auf alles, was deine Hände schaffen und was du tust, bis du bald vernichtet und bis du ausgetilgt bist wegen deines Tuns, durch das du mich böswillig verlassen hast.21Der HERR heftet die Pest an dich, bis er dich ausgemerzt hat aus dem Land, in das du hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (1Kön 8,37; Jer 24,10)22Der HERR schlägt dich mit Schwindsucht, Fieber und Brand, mit Glut und Schwert, Versengung und Vergilbung. Sie verfolgen dich, bis du ausgetilgt bist.[1]23Der Himmel über deinem Kopf wird zu Erz, die Erde unter dir wird zu Eisen. (5Mo 11,17; 1Kön 8,35)24Der HERR gibt deinem Lande Flugsand und Staub als Regen. Vom Himmel fällt er auf dich herab, bis du vernichtet bist.[2]25Der HERR stößt dich nieder und liefert dich deinen Feinden aus. Auf einer Straße ziehst du gegen sie aus, auf sieben Straßen fliehst du vor ihnen. Alle Könige der Erde erschauern vor dir.26Deine Leichen liegen da zum Fraß für alle Vögel des Himmels und für die Tiere der Erde und keiner verscheucht sie. (Jer 7,33)27Der HERR schlägt dich mit dem ägyptischen Geschwür, mit Beulen, Krätze und Grind und keiner kann dich heilen. (2Mo 9,9; 5Mo 7,15; 5Mo 28,60; Offb 16,2)28Der HERR schlägt dich mit Wahnsinn, Blindheit und Irresein.29Am hellen Mittag tappst du im Dunkel wie ein Blinder. Deine Wege führen nicht zum Erfolg. Dein Leben lang wirst du ausgebeutet und ausgeraubt und niemand hilft dir.30Du verlobst dich mit einer Frau und ein anderer schläft mit ihr. Du baust ein Haus und wohnst nicht darin. Du legst einen Weinberg an und hältst nicht einmal die erste Lese. (5Mo 20,5)31Dein Ochse wird vor deinen Augen geschlachtet und du bekommst nicht einmal davon zu essen. Dein Esel wird dir weggerissen und kehrt nicht zurück. Deine Schafe und Ziegen werden deinen Feinden ausgeliefert und niemand kommt dir zu Hilfe.32Deine Söhne und Töchter werden einem anderen Volk ausgeliefert, du siehst dir den ganzen Tag nach ihnen die Augen aus und zwingst sie doch nicht herbei.33Den Ertrag deines Ackers und all deinen Gewinn verzehrt ein Volk, das du früher nicht einmal gekannt hast, und du wirst dein Leben lang nur ausgebeutet und misshandelt.34Wahnsinn befällt dich bei dem Anblick, der sich deinen Augen bietet.35Der HERR schlägt dich mit bösen Geschwüren am Knie und am Schenkel und keiner kann dich heilen. Von der Sohle bis zum Scheitel bist du krank. (Offb 16,2)36Der HERR bringt dich und den König, den du über dich eingesetzt hast, zu einem Volk, das du und deine Väter früher nicht einmal gekannt haben, und dort musst du anderen Göttern dienen, Göttern aus Holz und Stein. (5Mo 4,28; 2Kön 17,4; 2Kön 25,7)37Alle Völker, zu denen der HERR dich führt, wenden sich entsetzt von dir ab, sagen Spottverse über dich auf und stimmen Hohngelächter an. (1Kön 9,7)38Viel Saatgut trägst du aufs Feld, aber du erntest wenig. Das andere hat die Heuschrecke gefressen. (5Mo 24,19; Mi 6,15)39Weinberge legst du an und pflegst sie, aber du trinkst keinen Wein und bringst keinen in den Keller. Der Wurm hat ihn weggefressen.40Ölbäume wachsen überall in deinem Land, aber du hast kein Öl, um dich zu salben. Dein Ölbaum hat die Oliven abgeworfen.41Söhne und Töchter hast du gezeugt, aber sie sind nicht bei dir. Sie sind als Gefangene weggezogen.42Alle deine Bäume und Feldfrüchte nimmt das Ungeziefer in Besitz.43Der Fremde, der in deiner Mitte wohnt, steigt immer höher nach oben, hoch über dich hinaus, und du steigst immer tiefer hinab.44Er leiht dir aus und du kannst ihm nichts ausleihen. Er wird zum Kopf und du wirst zum Schwanz.45Alle diese Verfluchungen werden über dich kommen, dich verfolgen und dich erreichen, bis du vernichtet bist, weil du nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehört und seine Gebote und Satzungen nicht bewahrt hast, auf die er dich verpflichtet hat.46Für immer werden sie als Zeichen und Wunder an dir und an deinen Nachkommen haften.47Weil du dem HERRN, deinem Gott, nicht gedient hast aus Freude und Herzenslust, weil alles in Überfluss da war,48musst du deinen Feinden dienen, die der HERR gegen dich ausgesandt hat. Hunger und Durst wirst du leiden, nackt sein und nichts mehr haben. Er legt dir ein eisernes Joch auf den Nacken, bis er dich vernichtet hat. (Jer 28,13)49Der HERR trägt zum Kampf gegen dich ein Volk aus der Ferne herbei, von den Enden der Erde, das wie ein Adler herabstößt, ein Volk, dessen Sprache du noch nie gehört hast, (Jer 5,15; Bar 4,15)50ein Volk mit unbeweglichem Gesicht, das sich dem Greis nicht zuwendet und für das Kind kein Mitleid zeigt.51Es verzehrt die Frucht deines Viehs und die Frucht deines Ackers, bis du vernichtet bist. Es lässt dir nichts übrig vom Korn, vom Wein und vom Öl, vom Wurf deiner Rinder und dem Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein, bis es dich ausgetilgt hat.52Es belagert dich in allen deinen Städten, bis die Mauern fallen, die hohen, festgefügten Mauern, auf die du dich in deinem ganzen Land verlässt. Es belagert dich in allen deinen Städten in dem ganzen Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gegeben hat. (Jer 5,17)53In der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich einschnürt, musst du die Frucht deines eigenen Leibes essen, das Fleisch deiner Söhne und Töchter, die dir der HERR, dein Gott, geschenkt hat. (3Mo 26,29; 2Kön 6,28; Jer 19,9; Kla 2,20; Kla 4,10)54Der weichlichste und verwöhnteste Mann blickt dann bei dir missgünstig auf seinen Bruder, auf die Frau, mit der er schläft, und auf den Rest der Kinder, die er noch übrig gelassen hat,55und möchte niemandem etwas abgeben von dem Fleisch seiner Kinder, das er isst, weil ihm keine Nahrung mehr übrig geblieben ist in der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich in allen deinen Städten einschnürt.56Die weichlichste und verwöhnteste Frau, die noch nie versucht hat, ihren Fuß auf die Erde zu setzen vor lauter Verwöhntheit und Verweichlichung, blickt missgünstig auf den Mann, mit dem sie schläft, auf ihren Sohn und ihre Tochter,57auf die Nachgeburt, die zwischen ihren Beinen hervorkommt, und auf die Kinder, die sie noch gebären wird; denn sie will sie heimlich essen, weil sie nichts mehr hat in der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich in allen deinen Städten einschnürt.58Wenn du nicht alle Worte dieser Weisung, die in dieser Urkunde aufgezeichnet sind, bewahrst und sie hältst, aus Furcht vor diesem herrlichen und Furcht erregenden Namen, vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott,59wird der HERR die Schläge, die er dir und deinen Nachkommen versetzt, über alles Gewohnte hinaus steigern zu gewaltigen und hartnäckigen Schlägen, zu schlimmen und hartnäckigen Krankheiten.60Er wird alle ägyptischen Seuchen, vor denen du Angst hast, wieder über dich bringen und sie werden an dir haften bleiben. (5Mo 28,27)61Auch alle Krankheiten und Schläge, die nicht in der Urkunde dieser Weisung aufgezeichnet sind, wird der HERR über dich bringen, bis du vernichtet bist.62Dann werden nur noch wenige Leute von euch übrig bleiben, statt dass ihr zahlreich seid wie die Sterne am Himmel; denn du hast nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehört. (5Mo 1,10; 5Mo 4,27)63So wie der HERR seine Freude daran hatte, euch Gutes zu tun und euch zahlreich zu machen, so wird der HERR seine Freude daran haben, euch auszutilgen und euch zu vernichten. Ihr werdet aus dem Land, in das du nun hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, herausgerissen werden. (5Mo 30,9)64Der HERR wird dich unter alle Völker verstreuen, vom einen Ende der Erde bis zum anderen Ende der Erde. Dort musst du anderen Göttern dienen, die du und deine Väter vorher nicht einmal gekannt haben, Göttern aus Holz und Stein. (5Mo 4,28; 5Mo 30,3)65Unter diesen Nationen wirst du keine Ruhe finden. Es wird keine Stelle geben, wohin du deinen Fuß setzen kannst. Der HERR wird dir dort das Herz erzittern, die Augen verlöschen und den Atem stocken lassen.66Du wirst in Lebensgefahr schweben, bei Nacht und bei Tag erschrecken und nicht mehr an dein Leben glauben.67Am Morgen wirst du sagen: Wenn es doch schon Abend wäre!, und am Abend: Wenn es doch schon Morgen wäre! - um dem Schrecken zu entfliehen, der dein Herz befällt, und dem Anblick, der sich deinen Augen bietet.68Der HERR wird dich auf Schiffen nach Ägypten zurückbringen, auf einem Weg, von dem ich dir gesagt hatte: Du sollst ihn niemals wiedersehen. Dort werdet ihr euch deinen Feinden als Sklaven und Sklavinnen zum Verkauf anbieten, aber niemand wird euch kaufen. (1Mo 26,2; 5Mo 17,16; Jer 43,7; Hos 8,13; Hos 9,3)

Curses for disobedience
15However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you:16You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.17Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.18The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.19You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.20The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.[1]21The Lord will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess.22The Lord will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish.23The sky over your head will be bronze, the ground beneath you iron.24The Lord will turn the rain of your country into dust and powder; it will come down from the skies until you are destroyed.25The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies.
