Gebot über die Gedenksteine mit den Worten des Gesetzes
1Und Mose gebot samt den Ältesten Israels dem Volk und sprach: Haltet das ganze Gebot, das ich euch heute gebiete! (5Mo 6,17; 5Mo 28,9; 1Sam 15,22; 1Chr 28,8; Ps 119,60; Pred 12,13)2Und es soll geschehen, an dem Tag, da ihr über den Jordan zieht in das Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt, sollst du dir große Steine aufrichten und sie mit Kalk bestreichen. (5Mo 9,1; 5Mo 11,31; 5Mo 26,1; Jos 4,1; Jos 4,5)3Und sobald du hinübergegangen bist, sollst du alle Worte dieses Gesetzes auf sie schreiben, damit du in das Land hineinkommst, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt; ein Land, in dem Milch und Honig fließt, wie der HERR, der Gott deiner Väter, es dir verheißen hat. Segen und Fluch sollen auf den Bergen Garizim und Ebal verkündet werden
11Und Mose gebot dem Volk an jenem Tag und sprach:12Diese sollen auf dem Berg Garizim stehen, um das Volk zu segnen, wenn ihr über den Jordan gegangen seid: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issaschar, Joseph und Benjamin. (5Mo 11,29; Jos 8,33; Ri 9,7; Joh 4,20)13Und diese sollen auf dem Berg Ebal stehen, um zu verfluchen: Ruben, Gad, Asser, Sebulon, Dan und Naphtali. (5Mo 11,29; 5Mo 27,4; Jos 8,33)14Und die Leviten sollen das Wort ergreifen und zu allen Männern Israels mit lauter Stimme sagen: (5Mo 33,10; Neh 8,7; Dan 9,11; Mal 2,7)15Verflucht sei, wer ein geschnitztes oder gegossenes Bild macht, das dem HERRN ein Gräuel ist, ein Machwerk von Künstlerhand, und es heimlich aufstellt! Und das ganze Volk soll antworten und sagen: Amen! Du sollst sie nicht mit Eisen bearbeiten. Am heutigen Tage bist du ein Volk des HERRN, deines Gottes, geworden, (5Mo 26,18)10dass du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorsam seist und tust nach seinen Geboten und Rechten, die ich dir heute gebiete.
Die zwölf Fluchworte
11Und Mose gebot dem Volk an diesem Tage und sprach:12Diese sollen stehen auf dem Berge Garizim, um das Volk zu segnen, wenn ihr über den Jordan gegangen seid: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Josef und Benjamin. (5Mo 11,29)13Und diese sollen stehen auf dem Berge Ebal, um zu verfluchen: Ruben, Gad, Asser, Sebulon, Dan und Naftali.14Und die Leviten sollen anheben und zu allen Männern Israels mit lauter Stimme sagen:15Verflucht sei, wer einen Götzen oder ein gegossenes Bild macht, einen Gräuel für den HERRN, ein Werk von den Händen der Werkmeister, und es heimlich aufstellt! 1Mose und die Ältesten Israels befahlen dem Volk: Bewahrt das ganze Gebot, auf das ich euch heute verpflichte! (Jos 8,30)2An dem Tag, wenn ihr über den Jordan zieht in das Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt, sollst du große Steine aufrichten, sie mit Kalk bestreichen3und alle Worte dieser Weisung darauf schreiben, wenn du hinüberziehst, damit du in das Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt, das Land, wo Milch und Honig fließen, so wie der HERR, der Gott deiner Väter, es dir zugesagt hat, auch hineinziehen kannst. (5Mo 28,1)11Am gleichen Tag befahl Mose dem Volk: (5Mo 11,29; Jos 8,33)12Folgende Stämme sollen sich auf dem Berg Garizim aufstellen, um das Volk zu segnen, nachdem ihr den Jordan überschritten habt: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Josef und Benjamin.13Und folgende Stämme sollen sich auf dem Berg Ebal zum Fluch aufstellen: Ruben, Gad, Ascher, Sebulon, Dan und Naftali.14Die Leviten sollen über alle Männer Israels mit lauter Stimme ausrufen:15Verflucht ist der Mann, der ein Gottesbildnis, das dem HERRN ein Gräuel ist, ein Künstlermachwerk, schnitzt oder gießt und es heimlich aufstellt. Und das ganze Volk soll ausrufen: Amen. (5Mo 4,16; 5Mo 7,25; 5Mo 9,1)16Verflucht, wer Vater oder Mutter schmäht. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen. (2Mo 21,17; 3Mo 20,9; 5Mo 5,16)17Verflucht, wer den Grenzstein seines Nachbarn verrückt. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen. (5Mo 5,21; 5Mo 19,14)18Verflucht, wer einem Blinden den falschen Weg weist. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen.19Verflucht, wer das Recht der Fremden, die Waisen sind, und das der Witwen beugt. (2Mo 22,18; 3Mo 18,6; 3Mo 20,11; 5Mo 23,1; 2Sam 16,22; 1Kor 5,1)21Verflucht, wer sich mit irgendeinem Tier hinlegt. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen. (2Mo 22,18)22Verflucht, wer sich mit seiner Schwester hinlegt, mit der Tochter seines Vaters oder mit der Tochter seiner Mutter. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen.23Verflucht, wer sich mit seiner Schwiegermutter hinlegt. Und das ganze Volk soll rufen: Amen.24Verflucht, wer einen andern heimlich erschlägt. Curses from Mount Ebal
9Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Keep silence and hear, O Israel: this day you have become the people of the LORD your God. (5Mo 26,18)10You shall therefore obey the voice of the LORD your God, keeping his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.”11That day Moses charged the people, saying,12“When you have crossed over the Jordan, these shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin. 1Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: ‘Keep all these commands that I give you today.2When you have crossed the Jordan into the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.3Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.4And when you have crossed the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command you today, and coat them with plaster.5Build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them.6Build the altar of the Lord your God with stones from the field and offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God.7Sacrifice fellowship offerings there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord your God.8And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones you have set up.’
Curses from Mount Ebal
9Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, ‘Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God.10Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.’11On the same day Moses commanded the people:12When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.13And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.14The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:15‘Cursed is anyone who makes an idol – a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands – and sets it up in secret.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’16‘Cursed is anyone who dishonours their father or mother.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’17‘Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbour’s boundary stone.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’18‘Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’19‘Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’20‘Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonours his father’s bed.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’21‘Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’22‘Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’23‘Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’24‘Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbour secretly.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’25‘Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’26‘Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

And all the people shall say, Amen.18Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.19Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.20Cursed be he that lieth with his father' wife; because he uncovereth his father' skirt.
