1 Der HERR gab Mose zur Antwort: »Jetzt wirst du sehen, was ich mit dem Pharao tun werde! ´Meine` starke Hand wird ihn zwingen, die Israeliten ziehen zu lassen. Wenn er meine Macht zu spüren bekommt^[1], wird er sie sogar aus dem Land jagen.«

Gott beauftragt Mose erneut

2 Gott sagte zu Mose: »Ich bin der HERR. 3 Ich bin Abraham, Isaak und Jakob als Gott, der Allmächtige, erschienen. Zwar habe ich mich ihnen nicht mit meinem Namen ›der HERR‹ zu erkennen gegeben, 4 aber ich habe meinen Bund mit ihnen geschlossen und ihnen das Land Kanaan versprochen, in dem sie ´damals` als Fremde lebten. 5 Nun habe ich das Stöhnen der Israeliten gehört, die von den Ägyptern zur Sklavenarbeit gezwungen werden, und ich habe an meinen Bund mit ihnen gedacht. 6 Darum richte den Israeliten aus: ›Ich bin der HERR, und ich werde euch aus der Zwangsarbeit in Ägypten befreien. Ich rette euch aus der Sklaverei, ich erlöse euch mit starkem^[2] Arm und durch gewaltige Strafgerichte. 7 Ich will euch als mein Volk annehmen und euer Gott sein. Ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich der HERR, euer Gott, bin, der euch aus der Zwangsarbeit in Ägypten befreit. 8 Ich bringe euch in das Land, das ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob mit einem Schwur zugesagt habe^[3]. Euch übergebe ich es als Eigentum, ich, der HERR^[4].‹« 9 Mose gab den Israeliten weiter, was Gott gesagt hatte. Doch sie glaubten ihm nicht, so entmutigt und erschöpft waren sie von der schweren Arbeit^[5]. 10 Da sagte der HERR zu Mose: 11 »Geh und fordere den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, auf, die Israeliten aus seinem Land ziehen zu lassen!« 12 »Ach HERR«, erwiderte Mose, »schon die Israeliten haben mir nicht geglaubt – wie sollte da der Pharao auf mich hören? Ich bin einfach ein zu ungeschickter Redner!^[6]« 13 Doch der HERR wiederholte seinen Befehl an Mose und Aaron und schickte sie zu den Israeliten und zum Pharao mit dem Auftrag, die Israeliten aus Ägypten zu führen.

Mose und Aaron als Nachkommen Levis

14 ´Die israelitischen Stämme gliederten sich in Sippen.` Es folgen ´die Namen einiger` Sippengründer: Ruben war der erstgeborene Sohn Israels^[7]. Seine Söhne hießen Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Karmi, und so hießen auch die Sippen ´des Stammes` Ruben. (1Mo 32,29) 15 Simeons Söhne hießen Jemuël, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Schaul (Schaul war der Sohn einer Kanaaniterin). Entsprechend hießen auch die Sippen ´des Stammes` Simeon. 16 Es folgt das Verzeichnis der Nachkommen Levis:^[8] Levi wurde 137 Jahre alt, und seine Söhne hießen Gerschon, Kehat und Merari. 17 Gerschons Söhne hießen Libni und Schimi. Von beiden stammte jeweils eine Sippe ab. 18 Kehat wurde 133 Jahre alt, und seine Söhne hießen Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Usiël. 19 Meraris Söhne hießen Machli und Muschi. All dies sind die Sippengründer^[9] ´des Stammes` Levi laut dem Verzeichnis seiner Nachkommen. 20 Amram heiratete Jochebed, die Schwester seines Vaters. Sie bekamen zwei Söhne namens Mose und Aaron. Von jedem stammte eine Sippe ab. 26 Aaron und Mose, ´die hier genannt werden`, sind die, zu denen der HERR gesagt hatte: »Führt die Israeliten nach Stämmen geordnet^[10] aus Ägypten!« 27 Sie sind es, die mit dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, redeten, um die Israeliten aus Ägypten zu bringen.

Gott sendet Mose und Aaron

28 Damals, als der HERR mit Mose in Ägypten redete, 29 sagte er zu ihm: »Ich bin der HERR. Richte dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, alles aus, was ich dir gesagt habe!« 30 Mose aber entgegnete: »Ach, HERR, ich bin ein ungeschickter Redner! Warum sollte der Pharao ausgerechnet auf mich hören?«
