(Apg 4,4; Apg 5,14; Apg 6,7; Apg 11,21; Apg 14,1)
Apostelgeschichte 2
King James Version
1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,11Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.12And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:15For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:19And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:20The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:21And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.22Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:23Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:24Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.25For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:26Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:27Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.34For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,35Until I make thy foes thy footstool.36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.43And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.44And all that believed were together, and had all things common;45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. (3Mo 23,15; Apg 20,16; 1Kor 16,8)2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. (1Kön 19,11; Hi 38,1; Hes 1,4; Apg 4,31; Apg 16,26)3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[1] on each one of them. (Mt 3,11)4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Mk 16,17; Apg 4,31; Apg 13,52; 1Kor 12,10)5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. (Apg 2,2)7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? (Mt 26,73; Apg 1,11; Apg 2,12)8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, (1Mo 14,1; 1Mo 14,9; 2Kön 17,6; Jes 11,11; Dan 8,2)10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” (Mt 23,15; Apg 6,5; Apg 13,43)12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” (Apg 2,7)13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” (Apg 17,32; 1Kor 14,23)
Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.[2] (1Thess 5,7)16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:17“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; (Jes 32,15; Jes 44,3; Hes 36,27; Joe 2,28; Apg 2,18; Apg 2,33; Apg 10,45; Apg 21,9; Röm 5,5; Tit 3,6)18even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Apg 11,28; Apg 21,10; 1Kor 12,10)19And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;20the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. (Mt 24,29; 1Thess 5,2; Offb 16,14)21And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ (Apg 16,31; Röm 10,13)22“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— (Mt 12,28; Lk 24,19; Joh 3,2; Apg 10,38; 2Kor 12,12; 2Thess 2,9; Hebr 2,4)23this Jesus,[3] delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. (Mt 20,19; Mt 26,24; Lk 22,22; Lk 24,20; Apg 3,13; Apg 3,18; Apg 4,28; Apg 5,30; Apg 13,27; 1Petr 1,2; 1Petr 1,20; Offb 13,8)24God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. (Lk 24,5; Joh 10,18; Apg 2,32; Apg 3,15; Apg 4,10; Apg 10,40; Apg 13,30; Apg 13,33; Apg 13,37; Apg 17,31; Röm 4,24; Röm 6,4; Röm 8,11; Röm 10,9; 1Kor 6,14; 1Kor 15,15; 2Kor 4,14; Gal 1,1; Eph 1,20; Eph 2,5; Kol 2,12; 1Thess 1,10; 2Tim 1,10; Hebr 2,14; Hebr 13,20; 1Petr 1,21; Offb 1,17)25For David says concerning him, “‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; (Ps 16,8)26therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope. (Röm 4,18)27For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. (Mt 11,23; Lk 2,26; Apg 2,31; Apg 13,35; Hebr 7,26)28You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’29“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. (1Kön 2,10; Neh 3,16; Apg 7,8; Apg 13,36; Hebr 7,4)30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, (2Sam 23,2; Mt 22,43; Lk 1,32; Hebr 11,32)31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Apg 2,27)32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. (Apg 1,22; Apg 2,24; Apg 4,33)33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. (2Mo 15,6; Ps 98,1; Joh 16,7; Apg 1,4; Apg 2,17; Apg 5,31; Gal 3,14; Eph 1,20; Phil 2,9; Hebr 2,9; 1Petr 3,22)34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, (Ps 110,1; Joh 3,13)35until I make your enemies your footstool.”’36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” (Mt 28,18; Apg 2,23; Röm 14,9; 2Kor 4,5)37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” (Lk 3,10; Apg 5,33; Apg 7,54; Apg 16,30)38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Mk 1,4; Mk 16,16; Lk 24,47; Joh 7,39; Apg 3,19; Apg 8,12; Apg 8,15; Apg 8,16; Apg 8,20; Apg 10,45; Apg 10,48; Apg 11,17; Apg 20,21; Apg 22,16; Apg 26,18; Apg 26,20)39For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” (Jes 44,3; Jes 54,13; Jes 57,19; Joe 2,32; Apg 3,25; Apg 22,21; Röm 8,30; Röm 9,4; Eph 2,13; Eph 2,17)40And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” (5Mo 32,5; Mt 17,17; Apg 2,21; Apg 2,47; Phil 2,15)41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. (Apg 2,47)
