1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. 

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: 

3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. 

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. 

6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? 

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. 

8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. 

9 For the LORD' portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. 

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. 

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: 

12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. 

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock; 

14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. 

15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness ; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. 

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods , with abominations provoked they him to anger. 

17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. 

18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. 

19 And when the LORD saw it , he abhorred them , because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. 

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be : for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. 

21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. 

22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. 

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. 

24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. 

25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. 

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: 

27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this. 

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. 

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! 

30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 

31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: 

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. 

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? 

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. 

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. 

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, 

38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. 

39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. 

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. 

41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. 

42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. 

43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. 

44 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun. 

45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel: 

46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. 

47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. 

48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, 

49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: 

50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: 

51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. 

52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee ; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

Das Lied des Mose

1 Horch auf, du Himmel, ich will reden, und die Erde höre die Worte meines Mundes! (De 4:26; Isa 1:2) 

2 Wie Regen träufle meine Lehre, wie Tau riesle meine Rede, wie Regenschauer auf frisches Grün und wie Regengüsse auf ⟨welkes⟩ Kraut! (Job 29:22) 

3 Denn den Namen des HERRN rufe ich aus: Gebt Ehre unserm Gott! (Ex 34:5; 1Ch 29:10) 

4 Der Fels; vollkommen ist sein Tun, denn alle seine Wege sind recht. Ein Gott der Treue und ohne Trug, gerecht und gerade ist er! (Ge 1:31; 1Sa 2:2; 2Sa 22:31; Ne 9:8; Ro 9:14) 

5 Es versündigte sich gegen ihn eine verkehrte und verdrehte Generation – nicht seine Kinder ⟨sind sie, sondern⟩ ihr ⟨eigener⟩ Schandfleck –. (De 32:20; Mt 17:17) 

6 Wollt ihr so dem HERRN vergelten, törichtes und unweises Volk? Ist er nicht dein Vater, der dich geschaffen hat? Er hat dich gemacht und dich bereitet. (Ex 4:22; De 14:1; Ps 100:3; Isa 43:1) 

7 Denk an die Tage der Vorzeit, gebt acht auf die Jahre von Generation zu Generation! Frag deinen Vater, er wird es dir kundtun, deine Ältesten, sie werden es dir sagen! (De 8:2; Job 8:8; Ps 44:2; Ps 77:6) 

8 Als der Höchste den Nationen das Erbe austeilte, als er die Menschenkinder ⟨voneinander⟩ schied, da legte er fest die Grenzen der Völker nach der Zahl der Söhne Israel. (Ge 10:5; Ac 17:26) 

9 Denn der Anteil des HERRN ist sein Volk, Jakob das Maß seines Erbteils. (De 9:29; 2Sa 20:19; Isa 19:25; Isa 34:17) 

10 Er fand ihn im Land der Wüste und in der Öde, im Geheul der Wildnis. Er umgab ihn, gab acht auf ihn, er behütete ihn wie seinen Augapfel. (Ps 17:8; Ps 107:4; Ho 13:5; Zec 2:12) 

11 Wie der Adler sein Nest aufstört, über seinen Jungen schwebt, seine Flügel ausbreitet, sie aufnimmt, sie trägt auf seinen Schwingen, (Ex 19:4) 

12 ⟨so⟩ leitete ihn der HERR allein, und kein fremder Gott war mit ihm. (Jos 24:17; Job 15:19; Isa 43:12; Isa 63:9) 

13 Er ließ ihn einherfahren auf den Höhen der Erde, und er aß die Früchte des Feldes. Er ließ ihn Honig saugen aus dem Felsen und Öl aus dem Felsenkiesel, (Job 29:6; Isa 58:14) 

14 Rahm der Kühe und Milch der Schafe samt dem Fett der Lämmer, Widder aus Baschan und Böcke samt dem Besten des Weizens und das Blut der Traube trankest du, ⟨feurigen⟩ Wein. (De 28:47; Ne 9:25; Ho 11:4) 

15 Da wurde Jeschurun fett und schlug aus. Du wurdest fett, dick, feist! Und er verwarf den Gott, der ihn gemacht, und verachtete den Fels seiner Rettung. (De 33:5; 2Ch 12:1; Ne 9:26; Ps 89:27; Ps 100:3; Isa 43:1; Isa 44:2; Ho 4:7) 

16 Sie reizten ihn zur Eifersucht durch fremde ⟨Götter⟩, durch Gräuel kränkten sie ihn. (1Ki 14:9; 2Ki 17:11; 2Ki 21:6; Ps 78:58; Jer 2:11; Jer 8:19) 

17 Sie opferten den Dämonen, die nicht Gott sind, Göttern, die sie nicht kannten, neuen, die ⟨erst⟩ vor Kurzem aufgekommen waren, die eure Väter nicht verehrten. (Le 17:7; De 13:8; Jud 5:8) 

18 Den Felsen, der dich gezeugt, täuschtest du und vergaßest den Gott, der dich geboren. (Ps 106:21; Isa 17:10; Jer 2:31) 

19 Und der HERR sah es und verwarf ⟨sie⟩ aus Unwillen über seine Söhne und seine Töchter. (Ps 106:40) 

20 Er sprach: Ich will mein Angesicht vor ihnen verbergen, will sehen, was ihr Ende ist; denn eine Generation ⟨voller⟩ Verkehrtheit sind sie, Kinder, in denen keine Treue ist. (De 31:17; 2Ki 17:18) 

21 Sie haben mich zur Eifersucht gereizt durch einen Nicht-Gott, haben mich gekränkt durch ihre Nichtigkeiten; so will auch ich sie zur Eifersucht reizen durch ein Nicht-Volk, durch eine törichte Nation will ich sie kränken. (1Ki 14:9; 2Ki 17:11; 2Ki 21:6; Ps 78:58; Isa 65:3; Jer 2:11; Jer 5:7; Jer 8:19; Jer 18:15; Eze 8:3; Ro 10:19) 

22 Denn ein Feuer ist entbrannt in meinem Zorn, es brennt bis in den untersten Scheol und frisst die Erde und ihren Ertrag und entzündet die Grundfesten der Berge. (Jer 15:14; La 2:2; Eze 19:12; Eze 22:21; Am 5:6; Zep 1:18) 

23 Ich will Unheil über sie häufen, meine Pfeile gegen sie verbrauchen. (2Ki 22:17; Ps 7:14) 

24 Sie sind vor Hunger entkräftet und aufgezehrt von Fieberglut und giftiger Pest, so sende ich den Zahn wilder Tiere gegen sie, samt dem Gift der im Staub Kriechenden. (Jer 8:17; Jer 15:3) 

25 Draußen wird kinderlos machen das Schwert und drinnen der Schrecken: den Jüngling wie die Jungfrau, den Säugling mit dem greisen Mann. (Jer 44:7; La 1:20; Eze 7:15; Ho 9:12; Ho 11:6; Mic 6:14) 

26 Ich hätte ⟨schon⟩ gesagt: Ich will sie zerschlagen, ihrer Erwähnung unter den Menschen ein Ende machen! (De 9:14; Ps 34:17) 

27 Wenn ich die Kränkung durch den Feind nicht fürchtete, dass ihre Gegner es falsch darstellten, dass sie sagten: Unsere Hand war erhaben! – und nicht: Der HERR hat dies alles gewirkt! (Ex 32:12; De 9:28; 1Ki 20:28; Ps 140:9; Isa 10:12; Isa 48:11) 

28 Denn sie sind eine Nation, die ⟨allen⟩ Rat verloren hat; keine Einsicht ist bei ihnen. (Jer 4:22) 

29 Wenn sie weise wären, würden sie das verstehen, würden ihr Ende bedenken. (Isa 42:23; Isa 47:7; Jer 5:31; Lu 19:42) 

30 Wie könnte einer Tausend jagen und zwei Zehntausend in die Flucht schlagen, wenn nicht ⟨deshalb⟩, weil ihr Fels sie verkauft und der HERR sie preisgegeben hat? (Jos 23:10; 1Ki 14:16; 2Ch 24:24; Isa 30:17; Isa 50:1) 

31 Denn nicht wie unser Fels ist ihr Fels; so haben unsere Feinde selbst geurteilt! (Ex 8:6) 

32 Denn von dem Weinstock Sodoms ist ihr Weinstock und von den Terrassen⟨gärten⟩ Gomorras; ihre Beeren sind Giftbeeren, bittere Trauben haben sie. (Isa 1:10; Jer 2:21; Eze 16:46) 

33 Drachengift ist ihr Wein und grausames Viperngift. (Ps 58:5) 

34 Ist dies nicht bei mir aufbewahrt, versiegelt in meinen Schatzkammern? (De 29:28; Ho 13:12) 

35 Mein ist die Rache und die Vergeltung für die Zeit, da ihr Fuß wankt. Denn nahe ist der Tag ihres Verderbens, und was ihnen bevorsteht, eilt herbei. (2Sa 22:48; Ps 94:1; Isa 13:22; Jer 8:12; Na 1:2; Lu 21:22; Ro 12:19; 2Pe 2:3) 

36 Denn der HERR wird sein Volk richten, und über seine Knechte wird er sich erbarmen, wenn er sieht, dass geschwunden die Kraft und der Sklave und der Freie dahin sind. (Ex 32:14; 1Ki 14:10; 2Ki 14:26; Ps 90:13; Ps 135:14; Jer 42:10; Da 12:7; Joe 2:18; Heb 10:30) 

37 Und er wird sagen: Wo sind ⟨nun⟩ ihre Götter, der Fels, bei dem sie sich bargen? (Jer 2:28; Jer 11:12) 

38 Die das Fett ihrer Schlachtopfer aßen, den Wein ihrer Trankopfer tranken, die sollen ⟨doch⟩ aufstehen und euch helfen, sie sollen ⟨doch⟩ ein Schirm über euch sein! (Jud 10:14) 

39 Seht nun, dass ich, ich es bin und kein Gott neben mir ist! Ich, ich töte, und ich mache lebendig, ich zerschlage, und ich, ich heile; und es gibt keinen, der aus meiner Hand rettet! (1Sa 2:6; Ne 9:6; Job 10:7; Ps 102:28; Isa 19:22; Joh 5:21) 

40 Denn ich erhebe meine Hand zum Himmel und spreche: So wahr ich ewig lebe! (Nu 14:21; 2Sa 22:47; Da 12:7; 1Ti 6:16; Re 4:9; Re 10:5) 

41 Wenn ich mein blitzendes Schwert geschärft habe und meine Hand zum Gericht greift, dann wende ich Rache auf meine Gegner zurück und vergelte es meinen Hassern. (De 7:10; Ps 149:9; Isa 59:18; Eze 32:10) 

42 Meine Pfeile lass ich trunken werden von Blut, und mein Schwert frisst Fleisch vom Blut der Erschlagenen und Gefangenen, vom Haupt der Fürsten des Feindes. (Ps 45:6; Jer 46:10) 

43 Lasst jauchzen, ihr Nationen, sein Volk! Denn er rächt das Blut seiner Knechte, und Rache wendet er auf seine Gegner zurück, und sein Land, sein Volk entsühnt er. (Ps 79:10; Isa 60:6; Eze 16:63; Eze 25:14; Ro 15:10) 

Moses letzte Mahnung

44 Und Mose kam und redete alle Worte dieses Liedes vor den Ohren des Volkes, er und Hosea, der Sohn des Nun. (Nu 13:16; De 31:22) 

45 Und als Mose all diese Worte zu ganz Israel zu Ende geredet hatte, 

46 da sagte er zu ihnen: Richtet euer Herz auf all die Worte, die ich euch heute bezeuge, damit ihr sie euren Kindern gebietet, dass sie darauf achten, alle Worte dieses Gesetzes zu tun! (De 4:9; Ps 78:5) 

47 Denn nicht ein leeres Wort ist es für euch, sondern es ist euer Leben. Und durch dieses Wort werdet ihr eure Tage verlängern in dem Land, in das ihr über den Jordan zieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (De 8:3; De 30:16; De 31:13; Pr 4:13; Joh 8:51) 

Moses Vorbereitung auf den Tod

48 Und an ebendiesem Tag redete der HERR zu Mose und sprach: 

49 Steige auf das Gebirge Abarim hier, ⟨auf⟩ den Berg Nebo, der im Land Moab ⟨liegt⟩, der Jericho gegenüber ist, und sieh das Land Kanaan, das ich den Söhnen Israel zum Eigentum gebe! (Ge 17:8; Nu 27:12; Jer 22:20) 

50 Dann wirst du auf dem Berg sterben, auf den du steigst, und wirst zu deinen Völkern versammelt werden, ebenso wie dein Bruder Aaron auf dem Berg Hor gestorben ist und zu seinen Völkern versammelt wurde, (Nu 20:24; Nu 32:38; De 31:14) 

51 weil ihr treulos gegen mich gehandelt habt mitten unter den Söhnen Israel am Wasser von Meribat-Kadesch in der Wüste Zin, weil ihr mich nicht geheiligt habt mitten unter den Söhnen Israel. (Nu 20:12) 

52 Denn von der gegenüberliegenden Seite sollst du das Land sehen, aber du sollst nicht in das Land hineinkommen, das ich den Söhnen Israel gebe. (De 1:37)
