1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. (Le 23:15; Ac 20:16; 1Co 16:8)2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. (1Ki 19:11; Job 38:1; Eze 1:4; Ac 4:31; Ac 16:26)3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[1] on each one of them. (Mt 3:11)4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Mt 26:73; Ac 1:11; Ac 2:12)8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, (Ge 14:1; Ge 14:9; 2Ki 17:6; Isa 11:11; Da 8:2)10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” (Mt 23:15; Ac 6:5; Ac 13:43)12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” (Ac 2:7)13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” (Ac 17:32; 1Co 14:23)
Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.[2] (1Th 5:7)16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:17“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; (Isa 32:15; Isa 44:3; Eze 36:27; Joe 2:28; Ac 2:18; Ac 2:33; Ac 10:45; Ac 21:9; Ro 5:5; Tit 3:6)18even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Ac 11:28; Ac 21:10; 1Co 12:10)19And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;20the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. (Ac 2:27)32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. (Ac 1:22; Ac 2:24; Ac 4:33)33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. (Ex 15:6; Ps 98:1; Joh 16:7; Ac 1:4; Ac 2:17; Ac 5:31; Ga 3:14; Eph 1:20; Php 2:9; Heb 2:9; 1Pe 3:22)34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, (Ps 110:1; Joh 3:13)35until I make your enemies your footstool.”’36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” (Mt 28:18; Ac 2:23; Ro 14:9; 2Co 4:5)37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” (Lu 3:10; Ac 5:33; Ac 7:54; Ac 16:30)38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Fellowship of the Believers
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (Lu 24:35; Ac 1:14; Ac 2:46; Ac 20:7; 1Co 14:6; Ga 2:9; Php 1:5; Heb 10:25; 1Jo 1:3)43And awe[4] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. (Mr 16:20)44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. (Mt 19:21; Ac 4:32; Ac 4:34)45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. (Ac 2:44)46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, (Lu 24:53; Joh 16:22; Ac 1:14; Ac 2:42; Ac 3:1; Ac 5:21; Ac 5:42; Ac 16:34)47praising God and having favor with all the people. (Ac 13:26)6Als nun dieses Brausen geschah, kam die Menge zusammen und wurde verstört, denn ein jeder hörte sie in seiner eigenen Sprache reden.7Sie entsetzten sich aber, verwunderten sich und sprachen: Siehe, sind nicht diese alle, die da reden, Galiläer?8Wie hören wir sie denn ein jeder in seiner Muttersprache?9Parther und Meder und Elamiter und die da wohnen in Mesopotamien, Judäa und Kappadozien, Pontus und der Provinz Asia,10Phrygien und Pamphylien, Ägypten und der Gegend von Kyrene in Libyen und Römer, die bei uns wohnen,11Juden und Proselyten, Kreter und Araber: Wir hören sie in unsern Sprachen die großen Taten Gottes verkünden.12Sie entsetzten sich aber alle und waren ratlos und sprachen einer zu dem andern: Was will das werden?13Andere aber hatten ihren Spott und sprachen: Sie sind voll süßen Weins.
Die Pfingstpredigt des Petrus
14Da trat Petrus auf mit den Elf, erhob seine Stimme und redete zu ihnen: Ihr Juden, und alle, die ihr in Jerusalem wohnt, das sei euch kundgetan, vernehmt meine Worte!15Denn diese sind nicht betrunken, wie ihr meint, ist es doch erst die dritte Stunde des Tages;16sondern das ist’s, was durch den Propheten Joel gesagt worden ist: (Joe 3:1)17»Und es soll geschehen in den letzten Tagen, spricht Gott, da will ich ausgießen von meinem Geist auf alles Fleisch; und eure Söhne und eure Töchter sollen weissagen, und eure Jünglinge sollen Gesichte sehen, und eure Alten sollen Träume haben;18und auf meine Knechte und auf meine Mägde will ich in jenen Tagen von meinem Geist ausgießen, und sie sollen weissagen.19Und ich will Wunder tun oben am Himmel und Zeichen unten auf Erden, Blut und Feuer und Rauchdampf;20die Sonne soll in Finsternis verwandelt werden und der Mond in Blut, ehe der große und herrliche Tag des Herrn kommt. (Lu 21:25)21Und es soll geschehen: Wer den Namen des Herrn anrufen wird, der soll gerettet werden.« (Ro 10:12)22Ihr Männer von Israel, hört diese Worte: Jesus von Nazareth[1], von Gott unter euch ausgewiesen durch mächtige Taten und Wunder und Zeichen, die Gott durch ihn in eurer Mitte getan hat, wie ihr selbst wisst – (Mt 2:23; Lu 18:37)23diesen Mann, der durch Gottes Ratschluss und Vorsehung dahingegeben war, habt ihr durch die Hand der Ungerechten ans Kreuz geschlagen und umgebracht. (Ac 4:28)24Den hat Gott auferweckt und hat ihn befreit aus den Wehen des Todes, denn es war unmöglich, dass er vom Tod festgehalten wurde.25Denn David spricht von ihm: »Ich habe den Herrn allezeit vor Augen, denn er steht mir zur Rechten, dass ich nicht wanke.26Darum ist mein Herz fröhlich, und meine Zunge frohlockt; auch mein Leib wird ruhen in Hoffnung.27Denn du wirst meine Seele nicht dem Reich des Todes überlassen und nicht zugeben, dass dein Heiliger die Verwesung sehe. (Ac 13:35)28Du hast mir kundgetan die Wege des Lebens; du wirst mich erfüllen mit Freude vor deinem Angesicht.«29Ihr Männer, liebe Brüder, lasst mich freimütig zu euch reden von dem Erzvater David. Er ist gestorben und begraben, und sein Grab ist bei uns bis auf diesen Tag. (1Ki 2:10; Ac 13:36)30Da er nun ein Prophet war und wusste, dass ihm Gott geschworen hatte mit einem Eid, dass ein Nachkomme von ihm auf seinem Thron sitzen sollte, (2Sa 7:12; Ps 89:4; Ps 132:11)31hat er vorausgesehen und von der Auferstehung des Christus gesagt: Er ist nicht dem Reich des Todes überlassen, und sein Leib hat die Verwesung nicht gesehen. (Ps 16:10)32Diesen Jesus hat Gott auferweckt; des sind wir alle Zeugen.33Da er nun durch die rechte Hand[2] Gottes erhöht ist und empfangen hat den verheißenen Heiligen Geist vom Vater, hat er diesen ausgegossen, wie ihr seht und hört. (Joh 15:26; Heb 10:12)34Denn David ist nicht gen Himmel gefahren; sondern er sagt selbst: »Der Herr sprach zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten,35bis ich deine Feinde zum Schemel unter deine Füße lege.«36So wisse nun das ganze Haus Israel gewiss, dass Gott diesen Jesus, den ihr gekreuzigt habt, zum Herrn und Christus gemacht hat. (Ac 5:30)
Die erste Gemeinde
37Als sie aber das hörten, ging’s ihnen durchs Herz, und sie sprachen zu Petrus und den andern Aposteln: Ihr Männer, liebe Brüder, was sollen wir tun? (Lu 3:10; Ac 16:30)38Petrus sprach zu ihnen: Tut Buße, und jeder von euch lasse sich taufen auf den Namen Jesu Christi zur Vergebung eurer Sünden, so werdet ihr empfangen die Gabe des Heiligen Geistes. (Lu 24:47; Ac 3:17)39Denn euch und euren Kindern gilt diese Verheißung und allen, die fern sind, so viele der Herr, unser Gott, herzurufen wird. (Joe 3:5)40Noch mit vielen andern Worten bezeugte er das und ermahnte sie und sprach: Lasst euch erretten aus diesem verkehrten Geschlecht! (Lu 9:41; Php 2:15)41Die nun sein Wort annahmen, ließen sich taufen; und an diesem Tage wurden hinzugefügt etwa dreitausend Menschen.42Sie blieben aber beständig in der Lehre der Apostel und in der Gemeinschaft und im Brotbrechen und im Gebet. (Ac 20:7)43Es kam aber Furcht über alle, und es geschahen viele Wunder und Zeichen durch die Apostel.44Alle aber, die gläubig geworden waren, waren beieinander und hatten alle Dinge gemeinsam. (Ac 4:32)45Sie verkauften Güter und Habe und teilten sie aus unter alle, je nachdem es einer nötig hatte. (Lu 12:33)46Und sie waren täglich einmütig beieinander im Tempel und brachen das Brot hier und dort in den Häusern, hielten die Mahlzeiten mit Freude und lauterem Herzen (Lu 24:53)47und lobten Gott und fanden Wohlwollen beim ganzen Volk. Der Herr aber fügte täglich zur Gemeinde hinzu, die gerettet wurden. (Ac 4:4; Ac 5:14; Ac 6:7; Ac 11:21; Ac 14:1)
