1¡Huid de Jerusalem, Oh hijos de Benjamín! ¡Soplad el shofar en Tecoa; Alzad señal sobre Bet-haquerem, Porque una calamidad, Una gran destrucción se asoma del norte!2¡A la hermosa y deleitable, He reducido al silencio, a la hija de Sión!3Hacia ella acuden pastores con sus rebaños; Junto a ella plantan sus tiendas en derredor, Cada uno apacienta en su lugar.4¡Proclamad guerra santa contra ella! ¡Levantaos, y ataquemos al mediodía! ¡Ay de nosotros, porque el día declina, Porque se extienden las sombras de la tarde!5Levantaos, pues, ataquemos de noche y destruyamos su ciudadela.6Porque así dice YHVH Sebaot: ¡Cortad árboles, Levantad terraplenes contra Jerusalem! ¡Ésta es la ciudad que debe ser visitada; Toda ella está llena de opresión!7Como manantial que brotan sus aguas, Así ella brota su maldad: Violencia y rapiña se oyen en ella. Delante de mí continuamente están sus enfermedades y sus heridas.8¡Corrígete, oh Jerusalem, No sea que mi alma se aparte de ti, No sea que te haga una asolación en tierra no habitada!9Así dice YHVH Sebaot: Rebuscarán completamente el resto de Israel cual rebuscos de una vid: ¡Vuelve otra vez tu mano a los sarmientos, Como quien recoge las uvas!10¿A quiénes tendré que hablar y testificar para que escuchen? He aquí que sus oídos son incircuncisos, Y no pueden escuchar: He aquí que la palabra de YHVH ha venido a ser un oprobio para ellos; No tienen deleite en ella.11Por tanto, estoy lleno de la ira de YHVH, Cansado estoy de refrenarme. Derrámala sobre los niños en la calle, Y asimismo sobre la reunión de los mancebos, Porque hasta el marido y la mujer serán aprisionados, El anciano y aquél que está lleno de días.12Y sus casas serán entregadas a otros, Juntamente con sus campos y sus mujeres, Porque extenderé mi mano contra los habitantes de esta tierra, dice YHVH.13Pues desde el más pequeño hasta el más grande, Todos ellos codician ganancias deshonestas; Y desde el profeta hasta el sacerdote, Todos ellos practican el engaño,14Y livianamente curan la llaga de mi pueblo, Diciendo: ¡Paz! ¡Paz!, cuando no hay paz.15¿Acaso se avergüenzan cuando cometen abominaciones? ¡No!, ciertamente de nada se avergüenzan, Ni aun saben ruborizarse. Por tanto caerán entre los que caen, Al tiempo en que Yo los visite, Serán derribados, dice YHVH.16Así dice YHVH: Deteneos en medio de los caminos, y mirad; Y preguntad por los senderos antiguos, Y dónde está el camino bueno, y andad por él, Y hallad descanso para vuestras almas. Pero ellos dijeron: ¡No andaremos en él!17Puse también sobre vosotros atalayas, que os decían: ¡Oíd el sonido del shofar! Pero ellos dijeron: ¡No oiremos!18Por tanto, ¡oíd, naciones, Entended, oh congregación de pueblos, Lo que Yo haré entre ellos!19¡Oye, oh tierra! He aquí traigo el mal sobre este pueblo, El fruto de sus pensamientos, Porque no escucharon mis palabras, Y desecharon mi Ley.20¿Para qué viene a mí este incienso de Sabá, O la caña aromada de países lejanos? Vuestros holocaustos no me son aceptos, Y vuestros sacrificios no me agradan.21Por tanto, así dice YHVH: He aquí Yo pongo tropiezos delante de este pueblo, Y en ellos tropezarán juntos padres e hijos; El vecino también y el amigo, y perecerán.22Así dice YHVH: He aquí viene un pueblo de la tierra del norte; Sí, una nación grande es despertada de los confines de la tierra;23Empuñan el arco y la jabalina; Son crueles; no tienen misericordia. Su voz brama como el mar, Vienen montados sobre caballos, Como un solo hombre de guerra, Dispuestos contra ti, ¡oh hija de Sión!24¡Oímos su fama y se debilitan nuestras manos! ¡La angustia se apodera de nosotros, Y dolores, como de la que da a luz!25No salgáis al campo, ni andéis por el camino, Pues allí está la espada del enemigo, Y hay terrores por doquier.26¡Cíñete con saco y revuélcate en la ceniza, Oh hija de mi pueblo! Haz duelo como por un hijo único, Lamento de gran amargura, Porque viene súbitamente el destructor sobre nosotros.27Te he puesto entre mi pueblo como vigía y quilatador: Conoce, pues, y examina el camino de ellos.28Todos son rebeldes obstinados, Y propalan calumnias; Todos son bronce y hierro de mala calidad.29Resopla el fuelle, El fuego consume el plomo, Pero en vano refina el refinador, Pues la escoria no se desprende.30Plata reprobada serán llamados, Porque YHVH los ha desechado.
1Flee for safety, O people of Benjamin, from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise a signal on Beth-haccherem, for disaster looms out of the north, and great destruction. (Jue 1:21; 2 S 14:2; Neh 3:14; Jer 1:14)2The lovely and delicately bred I will destroy, the daughter of Zion.[1] (2 R 19:21)3Shepherds with their flocks shall come against her; they shall pitch their tents around her; they shall pasture, each in his place. (Jer 4:17; Jer 23:1)4“Prepare war against her; arise, and let us attack at noon! Woe to us, for the day declines, for the shadows of evening lengthen! (Jer 15:8; Jer 22:7; Jer 51:27; Jl 3:9)5Arise, and let us attack by night and destroy her palaces!”6For thus says the Lord of hosts: “Cut down her trees; cast up a siege mound against Jerusalem. This is the city that must be punished; there is nothing but oppression within her.
