1Jestliže pak opravdově poslušen budeš hlasu Hospodina Boha svého, ostříhaje a čině všecka přikázaní jeho, kteráž já dnes přikazuji tobě, vyvýší tě Hospodin Bůh tvůj nade všecky národy země.2A přijdou na tě všecka požehnání tato, a vyplní se při tobě, když jen poslušen budeš hlasu Hospodina Boha svého.3Požehnaný budeš v městě, požehnaný i na poli.4Požehnaný plod života tvého, úrody země tvé, i plod dobytka tvého, prvorozené skotů tvých i stáda bravů tvých.5Požehnaný koš tvůj i díže tvá.6Požehnaný budeš vcházeje, požehnaný i vycházeje.7A učiní Hospodin, že nepřátelé tvoji, kteříž by povstali proti tobě, poraženi budou před tebou; jednou cestou vytáhnou proti tobě, a sedmi cestami před tebou utíkati budou.8Přikáže Hospodin požehnání svému, aby s tebou bylo v špižírnách tvých a při všem, k čemu bys koli přičinil ruku svou, a požehná tobě v zemi, kterouž Hospodin Bůh tvůj dává tobě.9Vystaví tě sobě Hospodin za lid svatý, jakož zapřisáhl tobě, když ostříhati budeš přikázaní Hospodina Boha svého, a choditi po cestách jeho.10I uzří všickni národové země, že jméno Hospodinovo vzýváno jest nad tebou, a budou se báti tebe.11Učiní také Hospodin, že hojnost míti budeš všeho dobrého, plodu života svého, i plodu dobytků svých, i úrod zemských v zemi, kterouž s přísahou zaslíbil otcům tvým, že ji tobě dá.12Otevře Hospodin tobě poklad svůj výborný, nebe, aby vydalo déšť zemi tvé časem svým, a požehná všelikému dílu ruky tvé, tak že mnohým národům půjčovati budeš, sám pak nic nevypůjčíš.13I ustanoví tě Hospodin za hlavu a ne za ocas, a budeš vždycky vyšší, a nikdy nižší, když poslouchati budeš přikázaní Hospodina Boha svého, kteráž já dnes tobě přikazuji, abys ostříhal a činil je.14A neuchýlíš se od žádného slova, kteráž já dnes přikazuji tobě, ani na pravo ani na levo, odcházeje po bozích cizích, abys jim sloužil.15Jestliže pak hlasu Hospodina Boha svého poslouchati, a všech přikázaní a ustanovení jeho, kteráž já dnes přikazuji tobě, ostříhati a činiti nebudeš, přijdou na tě všecka zlořečenství tato a postihnou tě.16Zlořečený budeš v městě, zlořečený i na poli.17Zlořečený koš tvůj, a zlořečená díže tvá.18Zlořečený plod života tvého i úrody země tvé, prvorozené skotů tvých i stáda bravů tvých.19Zlořečený budeš vcházeje, zlořečený i vycházeje.20Pošle Hospodin na tě zlořečení, zkormoucení a bídu při všem, k čemuž bys koli přičinil ruky své a což bys koli dělal, dokudž nebudeš vyhlazen, a nezahyneš v náhle pro zlé skutky tvé, skrze něž jsi opustil mne.21Dopustí Hospodin, aby se přídržely tebe morní bolesti, až tě i vypléní z země, do níž se béřeš, abys ji dědičně opanoval.22Bíti tě bude Hospodin souchotinami, zimnicí, pálivostí, horkem, mečem, suchem a rudou, a budou tě stíhati, až tě i zkazí.23I to nebe, kteréž jest nad hlavou tvou, bude měděné, a země, kteráž jest pod tebou, železná.24Dá Hospodin zemi tvé místo deště prach a popel, a toť s nebe sstoupí na tě, dokudž bys nebyl vyhlazen.25Učiní i to Hospodin, že poražen budeš od nepřátel svých; jednou cestou vytáhneš proti nim, a sedmi cestami utíkati budeš od tváři jejich, a musíš se smýkati po všech královstvích země.26I budou těla vaše mrtvá za pokrm všemu ptactvu nebeskému, a šelmám zemským, a nebude, kdo by je odehnal.27Raní tě Hospodin vředem Egyptským, neduhy na zadku, prašivinami a svrabem nezhojitelným.28Raní tě Hospodin pominutím smyslu, slepotou a tupostí srdce,29Tak že o poledni makati budeš, jako maká slepý ve tmě, a nebudeš míti prospěchu na cestách svých; k tomu také utiskán budeš, a loupen po všecky dny, a nebude, kdo by tě vysvobodil.30Manželku sobě zasnoubíš, a jiný s ní obývati bude; dům vystavíš, a nebudeš bydliti v něm; vinici štípíš, a sbírati na ní nebudeš.31Vůl tvůj před tvýma očima zabit bude, a ty jeho jísti nebudeš; osel tvůj uchvácen bude před tváří tvou, anižť se zase navrátí; dobytek tvůj vydán bude nepřátelům tvým, a žádný ho nevysvobodí.32Synové tvoji a dcery tvé cizímu národu vydáni budou, a oči tvé na to hledíce, umdlívati budou pro ně celého dne, a nebude síly v ruce tvé.33Úrody země tvé i všecko úsilí tvé sžíře národ, kteréhož ty neznáš, a nebudeš než potlačený a potřený po všecky dny.34A omámený budeš nad těmi věcmi, kteréž viděti budou oči tvé.35Raní tě Hospodin vředem nejhorším na kolenou i na lýtkách, tak že se nebudeš moci zhojiti, od spodku nohy tvé až do vrchu hlavy.36Zavede tě Hospodin i krále tvého, kteréhož ustanovíš nad sebou, do národu, kteréhož jsi ty neznal, ani předkové tvoji, a sloužiti tam budeš bohům cizím, dřevu a kameni.37A budeš k užasnutí a přísloví i v rozprávku všechněm národům, mezi kteréž zavede tě Hospodin.38Mnoho semene vyneseš na pole k rozsívání, a málo shromáždíš, nebo sžerou to kobylky.39Vinice štípíš a dělati je budeš, ale vína píti ani sbírati nebudeš, nebo červ sžíře je.40Olivoví hojnost míti budeš ve všech končinách svých, a však olejem se pomazovati nebudeš, nebo sprchne ovoce s olivy tvé.41Synů a dcer naplodíš, a nebudeš jich míti, nebo zajati budou.42Všecko stromoví tvé i úrody země tvé kobylky zkazí.43Cizozemec, kterýž s tebou přebývá, vzroste nad tebe, ty pak velice ponižovati se musíš.44On půjčovati bude tobě, a ty nebudeš míti, co bys půjčil jemu; on bude přednější, a ty poslednější.45A přijdou na tebe všecka zlořečenství tato a stíhati tě budou, a obklíčí tě, až i zahyneš, jestliže bys neuposlechl hlasu Hospodina Boha svého, a neostříhal přikázaní a ustanovení jeho, kteráž přikázal tobě.46A budou rány tyto znamením a zázrakem na tobě i semeni tvém až na věky,47Proto že jsi nesloužil Hospodinu Bohu svému s potěšením a veselím srdce, maje hojnost všech věcí.48A protož nepříteli svému, kteréhož poslal na tebe Hospodin, sloužiti musíš v hladu, žízni, v nahotě a v nedostatku všech věcí; a vloží na šíji tvou jho železné, dokudž tě nesetře.49Přivede Hospodin na tebe národ z daleka, od nejdalších končin země, jako letí orlice, národ, jehož jazyku nerozumíš,50Národ nestydatý, kterýž ani starce nebude šanovati, a nad dítětem se neslituje.51A sžíře plod dobytků tvých i úrody země tvé, dokudž nebudeš vyhlazen; a nezanechá tobě obilí, vína mladého a oleje, prvorozeného z skotů tvých, ani stáda bravů tvých, až tě i vyhladí.52A oblehne tě ve všech městech tvých, dokudž by nepadly zdi tvé vysoké a pevné, v nichž ty doufáš po vší zemi své; obležen, pravím, budeš ve všech městech svých, po vší zemi své, kterouž Hospodin Bůh tvůj dal tobě,53Tak že v obležení a ssoužení, jímž ssouží tě nepřítel tvůj, jísti budeš plod života svého, maso synů svých a dcer svých, kteréž by dal tobě Hospodin Bůh tvůj.54Člověk mezi vámi rozmazaný a v rozkoši schovaný záviděti bude bratru svému, i vlastní ženě své, i ostatním synům svým, kterýchž ještě zanechal,55Tak že neudělí žádnému z nich masa synů svých, kteréž jísti bude, proto že nezůstalo jemu nic jiného v obležení a v ssoužení, jímž ssouží tě nepřítel tvůj ve všech městech tvých.56Rozmazaná mezi vámi a v rozkoši schovaná žena, kteráž rozmazaností a rozkoší velikou ledva nohou země se dotkla, vlastnímu muži svému a synu svému i dceři své,57Také i lůžka svého, kteréž z ní vychází při porodu, ano i synů svých, kteréž zplodí, záviděti bude; nebo jísti je bude tajně pro nedostatek všech věcí v obležení a ssoužení, jímž ssouží tě nepřítel tvůj v městech tvých.58Nebudeš-li ostříhati a činiti všech slov zákona tohoto, kteráž psána jsou v knize této, abys se bál toho veleslavného a hrozného jména Hospodina Boha svého:59Rozmnoží ku podivení Hospodin rány tvé, a rány semene tvého, rány veliké a trvánlivé, i nemoci těžké a dlouhé.60A obrátí na tebe všecky neduhy Egyptské, jichžs se strašil, a přichytí se tebe.61Všelijaký také neduh a všelikou ránu, kteráž není psána v knize zákona tohoto, uvede Hospodin na tebe, dokudž nebudeš vyhlazen.62A zůstane vás maličko, ješto vás prvé bylo mnoho, jako hvězd nebeských, proto že jsi neposlouchal hlasu Hospodina Boha svého.63I stane se, že jakož se veselil Hospodin nad vámi, dobře vám čině a rozmnožuje vás, tak veseliti se bude Hospodin nad vámi, když vás zkazí a vyhladí, a vypléněni budete z země, do kteréž jdete, abyste dědičně vládli jí.64A rozptýlí tě Hospodin mezi všecky národy, od jednoho konce země až do druhého, a budeš tam sloužiti bohům cizím, kterýchž ty neznáš, ani otcové tvoji, dřevu a kameni.65A mezi národy těmi neoddechneš, aniž bude míti odpočinutí spodek nohy tvé; tam také dá Hospodin tobě srdce lekavé, a oči blíkavé, a truchlost mysli.66I bude život tvůj nejistý před tebou, a strašiti se budeš v noci i ve dne, a nikdež nebudeš jist svým životem.67Ráno díš: Ó by již byl večer! a večer díš: Ó by již bylo jitro! pro strach srdce svého, jímž se lekáš, a pro ty věci, na něž očima svýma hleděti musíš.68A zavede tě Hospodin do Egypta na lodech, cestou, o níž jsem řekl tobě: Nebudeš jí viděti více; a tam prodávati se budete nepřátelům svým za služebníky a děvky, a nebude, kdo by koupil.
— Podmínky života - Poslušným je zaslíbeno požehnání a spása.
1 Jestliže budeš opravdově poslouchat Hospodina, svého Boha, a bedlivě dodržovat všechny jeho příkazy, které ti dnes udílím, vyvýší tě Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, nad všechny pronárody země.2 A spočinou na tobě všechna tato požehnání, když budeš poslouchat Hospodina, svého Boha:3 Požehnaný budeš ve městě a požehnaný budeš na poli.4 Požehnaný bude plod tvého života i plodiny tvé role, plod tvého dobytka, vrh tvého skotu a přírůstek tvého bravu.5 Požehnaný bude tvůj koš a tvá díže.6 Požehnaný budeš při svém vcházení a požehnaný při svém vycházení. 7 Hospodin dá, že tvoji nepřátelé, kteří proti tobě povstanou, budou před tebou poraženi. Jednou cestou proti tobě vytáhnou a sedmi cestami budou před tebou utíkat.8 Hospodin přikáže, aby s tebou bylo požehnání ve tvých sýpkách a na všem, k čemu přiložíš ruku. Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, ti bude žehnat v zemi, kterou ti dává.9 Hospodin si tě ustaví za svatý lid, jak ti přisáhl, když budeš na příkazy Hospodina, svého Boha, dbát a chodit po jeho cestách.10 Všechny národy země budou vidět, že se nazýváš Hospodinovým jménem, a budou se tě bát. 11 Hospodin ti dá nadbytek dobrého: plodu tvého života a plodu tvého dobytka i plodin tvé role v zemi, o které přísahal Hospodin tvým otcům, že ti ji dá.12 Hospodin ti otevře svou štědrou pokladnici, nebesa, aby v pravý čas dal tvé zemi déšť a požehnal každé práci tvých rukou. Budeš půjčovat mnohým pronárodům, ale sám si nebudeš muset půjčovat.13 Hospodin tě učiní hlavou a ne chvostem, budeš vždycky stoupat výš a neklesneš níž, budeš-li poslouchat příkazy Hospodina, svého Boha, které ti dnes udílím, abys je bedlivě dodržoval.14 Neuchýlíš se napravo ani nalevo od žádného ze slov, která vám dnes přikazuji, tím, že bys chodil za jinými bohy a sloužil jim.
— Ohrožení života - Neposlušným je ohlášeno prokletí a zavržení.
15 Jestliže však nebudeš Hospodina, svého Boha, poslouchat a nebudeš bedlivě dodržovat všechny jeho příkazy a nařízení, která ti dnes udílím, dopadnou na tebe všechna tato zlořečení:16 Prokletý budeš ve městě a prokletý budeš na poli.17 Prokletý bude tvůj koš i tvá díže.18 Prokletý bude plod tvého života i plodiny tvé role, vrh tvého skotu i přírůstek tvého bravu.19 Prokletý budeš při svém vcházení a prokletý při svém vycházení.20 Hospodin na tebe pošle prokletí, zděšení a zmar ve všem, k čemu přiložíš ruku a co budeš dělat, dokud nebudeš zahlazen. Zanikneš rychle pro své zlé jednání, protože jsi mě opustil.21 Hospodin způsobí, že se tě bude držet mor, dokud s tebou neskoncuje v zemi, kterou přicházíš obsadit.22 Hospodin tě bude bít úbytěmi a zimnicí, palčivou horečkou, mečem, obilnou rzí a snětí; ty tě budou pronásledovat, dokud nezanikneš.23 Nebe nad tvou hlavou bude měděné a země pod tebou bude železná.24 Místo deště dá Hospodin tvé zemi písek a prach; budou na tebe padat z nebe, dokud nebudeš zahlazen.25 Hospodin dopustí, že budeš před svými nepřáteli poražen. Jednou cestou proti nepříteli vytáhneš a sedmi cestami budeš před ním utíkat. Budeš obrazem hrůzy ve všech královstvích země.26 Tvá mrtvola bude pokrmem všemu nebeskému ptactvu i zemskému zvířectvu a nikdo je nezaplaší. 27 Hospodin tě raní egyptskými vředy a boulemi, svrabem a prašivinou, které nebudeš moci vyléčit.28 Hospodin tě raní šílenstvím, slepotou a pomatením mysli.29 O poledni budeš tápat jako tápe slepý ve tmě. Na svých cestách nebudeš mít zdar, stále budeš týrán a odírán, po všechny dny, a nikdo tě nezachrání.30 Zasnoubíš se s ženou, a jiný muž ji zneuctí, vystavíš si dům, a nebudeš v něm bydlet, vysázíš vinici, a nebudeš z ní sklízet.31 Tvůj býk bude poražen před tvýma očima, avšak jíst z něho nebudeš. Tvůj osel ti bude uchvácen před očima, a nevrátí se ti. Tvůj brav bude vydán tvému nepříteli, a nikdo tě nezachrání.32 Tvoji synové a tvé dcery budou vydány jinému lidu; tvé oči se na to budou dívat, po celé dny se budou pro ně rozplývat v slzách, ale nic nezmůžeš.33 Plodiny tvé role i veškerý tvůj výtěžek pozře lid, který jsi neznal, napořád budeš týrán a utiskován, po všechny dny.34 Zešílíš z podívané, na kterou se budeš muset dívat.35 Hospodin tě raní na kolenou i na stehnech, od chodidla až po temeno zlými vředy, které nebudeš moci vyléčit.36 Hospodin od tebe odvede i tvého krále, jehož nad sebou ustanovíš, k pronárodu, který jsi neznal ty ani tvoji otcové. Tam budeš sloužit jiným bohům, dřevu a kameni.37 Budeš předmětem úděsu, pořekadel a posměchu mezi všemi národy, kam tě Hospodin odvleče. 38 Vyseješ na poli mnoho osiva, ale sklidíš málo, neboť to ožerou kobylky.39 Vysázíš a obděláš vinice, avšak víno pít ani uskladňovat nebudeš, neboť to sežerou červi.40 Všude po svém území budeš mít olivy, ale olejem se nepomažeš, neboť olivy ti opadají.41 Zplodíš syny a dcery, ale tobě nezůstanou, neboť půjdou do zajetí.42 Všechno tvé stromoví a plodiny tvé role napadne hmyz.43 Bezdomovec, který je ve tvém středu, bude stoupat stále výš nad tebe, ty pak budeš klesat čím dál tím níž.44 On ti bude půjčovat, ale ty mu nebudeš moci půjčit. On bude hlavou, a ty budeš chvostem. 45 Dopadnou na tebe všechna tato zlořečení a budou tě pronásledovat, dokud nebudeš zahlazen, neboť jsi neposlouchal Hospodina, svého Boha, a nedbal jsi na příkazy a nařízení, která ti udělil.46 Budou na tobě a na tvém potomstvu navěky znamením a zázrakem.47 Za to, že jsi měl hojnost všeho, ale nesloužil Hospodinu, svému Bohu, s radostí a vděčným srdcem,48 budeš otročit svým nepřátelům, které na tebe pošle Hospodin, v hladu a žízni, v nahotě a v nedostatku všeho. On ti vloží na šíji železné jho, dokud tě nevyhladí. 49 Hospodin na tebe přivede pronárod zdaleka, od konce země, jako přilétá orel, pronárod, jehož jazyku nebudeš rozumět,50 pronárod kruté tváře, který nebere ohled na starce a nad chlapcem se nesmiluje.51 Bude požírat plod tvého dobytka i plodiny tvé role, dokud nebudeš zahlazen. Nenechá ti obilí ani mošt a olej, vrh tvého skotu ani přírůstek tvého bravu, dokud tě nevyhubí.52 Sevře tě ve všech tvých branách, dokud nepadnou tvé vysoké a pevné hradby, na něž spoléháš po celé své zemi. Sevře tě ve všech tvých branách po celé tvé zemi, kterou ti dal Hospodin, tvůj Bůh.53 A v tísni obležení, kterým tě bude tísnit tvůj nepřítel, budeš jíst plod svého života, maso svých synů a dcer, které ti dal Hospodin, tvůj Bůh.54 Změkčilý a zhýčkaný mezi vámi bude nepřejícně hledět na svého bratra i na svou vlastní ženu a na syny, kteří mu ještě zbyli,55 aby nemusel některému z nich dát z masa svých dětí, které pojídá, ze strachu, že by jemu nezbylo nic v tísni obležení, kterým tě bude tísnit tvůj nepřítel ve všech tvých branách.56 Ta změkčilá a zhýčkaná mezi vámi, která se pro zhýčkanost a změkčilost ani nepokusila postavit nohou na zem, bude nepřejícně hledět na svého vlastního muže i na svého syna a na svou dceru,57 i na své plodové lůžko, které z ní vychází, i na své děti, které porodí. Tajně je sní pro nedostatek všeho v tísni obležení, kterým tě bude tísnit tvůj nepřítel ve tvých branách.
— Ohlášení trestu - Hrozné rány stihnou lid, zpronevěří-li se svému Bohu.
58 Jestliže nebudeš bedlivě dodržovat všechna slova tohoto zákona, napsaná v této knize, a bát se toho slavného a hrozného jména Hospodina, svého Boha,59 dopustí Hospodin na tebe i na tvé potomstvo neobyčejné rány, rány veliké a vytrvalé i nemoci zlé a vytrvalé.60 Obrátí na tebe všechny egyptské choroby, jichž se lekáš, a ony na tobě ulpí.61 Hospodin na tebe uvede též každou nemoc a každou ránu, o níž není psáno v knize tohoto zákona, dokud nebudeš zahlazen.62 I zbude vás maličko, ač vás bylo mnoho jako nebeských hvězd, protože jsi neposlouchal Hospodina, svého Boha.63 A jako se Hospodin nad vámi veselil, když vám prokazoval dobro a rozmnožoval vás, tak se bude Hospodin nad vámi veselit, když vás bude hubit a zahlazovat. Budete vyrváni ze země, kterou přicházíš obsadit.64 Hospodin tě rozptýlí do všech národů od jednoho konce země do druhého. Tam budeš sloužit jiným bohům, které jsi neznal ty ani tvoji otcové, dřevu nebo kameni.65 Mezi těmi pronárody nebudeš mít klidu, ani tvá noha si neodpočine. Hospodin ti tam dá chvějící se srdce, pohaslé oči a zoufalou duši.66 Tvůj život bude viset na vlásku, v noci i ve dne se budeš chvět strachem a nebudeš jist svým životem.67 Ráno budeš říkat: „Kéž by byl večer!“ a večer budeš říkat: „Kéž by bylo ráno!“ pro strach svého srdce, kterým se budeš chvět, a pro podívanou, na kterou se budeš muset dívat.68 Loděmi tě Hospodin přivede zpátky do Egypta; vydáš se cestou, o níž jsem prohlásil, že ji už nespatříš. Tam se budete nabízet na prodej svým nepřátelům za otroky a otrokyně, ale nikdo vás nekoupí.
OBNOVA SMLOUVY - — Mojžíšovo napomenutí - Mojžíš připomíná minulé události, Boží tresty i dobrodiní, a varuje před rušením smlouvy.
69 Toto jsou slova smlouvy, o které Hospodin přikázal Mojžíšovi, aby ji uzavřel se syny Izraele v moábské zemi, kromě té smlouvy, kterou s nimi uzavřel na Chorébu.
1Budeš-li opravdově poslouchat Hospodina, svého Boha, a pečlivě dodržovat všechna jeho přikázání, která ti dnes udílím, Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, tě vyvýší nade všechny národy země.2Budeš-li poslouchat Hospodina, svého Boha, přijdou na tebe a dostihnou tě všechna tato požehnání:3Požehnaný budeš ve městě, požehnaný budeš i na poli!4Požehnaný plod tvého lůna, plody tvé půdy, plod tvého dobytka, vrh tvého skotu i mláďata tvého bravu.5Požehnaná tvá nůše i tvá díže!6Požehnaný budeš při vcházení, požehnaný budeš i při vycházení.7Hospodin před tebou porazí nepřátele, kteří tě napadnou. Jednou cestou proti tobě vytáhnou, sedmi cestami před tebou utečou.8Hospodin ti sešle požehnání pro tvé sýpky i pro vše, k čemu přiložíš ruku; Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, ti požehná v zemi, kterou ti dává.9Hospodin si tě zbuduje ve svatý lid, jak ti přísahal, budeš-li zachovávat přikázání Hospodina, svého Boha, a kráčet po jeho cestách.10Všechny národy země spatří, že neseš Hospodinovo jméno, a budou se tě bát.11Hospodin ti dá nadbytek všeho dobrého: plodu tvého lůna, plodu tvého dobytka i plodů tvé země, o níž Hospodin přísahal tvým otcům, že ti ji dá.[1]12Hospodin ti otevře svůj nádherný poklad – nebesa – aby dal tvé zemi déšť v pravý čas a požehnal všechno tvé počínání, takže budeš půjčovat mnohým národům, ale sám si nevypůjčíš.13Hospodin tě učiní hlavou, nikoli chvostem a budeš vždycky nahoře a nikdy dole, budeš-li poslouchat a pečlivě dodržovat přikázání Hospodina, svého Boha, která ti dnes udílím.14Od těchto slov, která vám dnes vydávám, se neuchyluj napravo ani nalevo – nechoď za cizími bohy a nesluž jim!

15Nebudeš-li však poslouchat Hospodina, svého Boha, nebudeš-li pečlivě dodržovat všechna jeho přikázání a pravidla, která ti dnes udílím, přijdou na tebe a dostihnou tě všechna tato prokletí:16Prokletý budeš ve městě, prokletý budeš i na poli.17Prokletá tvá nůše i tvá díže.18Prokletý plod tvého lůna, plody tvé půdy, vrh tvého skotu i mláďata tvého bravu.19Prokletý budeš při vcházení, prokletý budeš i při vycházení.20Hospodin na tebe pošle prokletí, děs a zmar při veškerém tvém počínání, dokud nebudeš vyhlazen. Kvůli svému zlému jednání rychle zahyneš, protože jsi ho[2] opustil.21Hospodin tě postihne morem, dokud s tebou neskoncuje v zemi, kterou jdeš obsadit.22Hospodin tě raní úbytěmi, zimnicí a zánětem, palčivým horkem a vyprahlostí, plísní a snětí; to vše tě bude pronásledovat, dokud nezahyneš.23Nebe se ti nad hlavou promění v bronz a země pod tebou v železo.24Hospodin ti pro tvou zem dá místo deště prach; z nebe tě bude zasypávat písek, dokud nebudeš vyhlazen.25Hospodin nechá tvé nepřátele, ať tě porazí. Jednou cestou vytáhneš proti nim, sedmi cestami utečeš před nimi. Staneš se odstrašujícím příkladem pro všechna království země.26Na vašich mrtvolách se bude pást veškeré ptactvo i divá zvěř a nebude, kdo by je odháněl.27Hospodin tě raní egyptskými vředy,[3] nádory, svrabem a prašivinou, z nichž se nikdy nevyléčíš.28Hospodin tě raní šílenstvím, slepotou a pomatením mysli.29I v poledne budeš tápat jako slepec v temnotách. Tvé snažení nebude mít úspěch, po všechny dny budeš jen utiskován a vykořisťován a nebude, kdo by tě zachránil.30Zasnoubíš se s ženou a jiný muž ji zneuctí; postavíš si dům, a nebudeš v něm bydlet; vysázíš vinici, a neokusíš její ovoce.31Tvého býka ti porazí před očima, a nebudeš z něj jíst; tvého osla ti vezmou před nosem a nikdy se ti nevrátí; tvé ovce dají tvým nepřátelům a nebude, kdo by tě zachránil.32Tvé syny a dcery dají cizím lidem; vlastníma očima tomu budeš přihlížet. Celý den pro ně budeš prolévat slzy, ale budeš bezmocný.33Plody tvé země a všechno tvé úsilí zhltne národ, který jsi neznal, a po všechny dny budeš jen utiskován a utlačován.34Zešílíš z podívané, kterou uvidíš.35Hospodin tě na kolenou i stehnech raní nejhoršími vředy, z nichž se nikdy nevyléčíš, od hlavy až k patě.36Hospodin tě odvede i s králem, jehož si ustanovíš, k národu, který jsi neznal ty ani tví otcové. Tam budete sloužit cizím bohům ze dřeva a kamene.37Všem národům, mezi něž tě Hospodin rozptýlí, budeš za strašáka, pořekadlo a posměšek.38I když na poli zaseješ spoustu zrní, sklidíš málo; sežerou je kobylky.39I když vysázíš vinice a budeš je obdělávat, nebudeš mít víno k pití ani skladování; sežerou to červi.40I když budeš mít olivy po celém kraji, nepomažeš se olejem; tvá oliva opadá.41I když zplodíš syny a dcery, nezůstanou ti; odejdou do zajetí.42Všechny tvé stromy a plody tvé země si vezme hmyz.43Přistěhovalec ve tvém středu tě bude přerůstat výš a výš a ty budeš klesat níž a níž.44On bude půjčovat tobě, a ne ty jemu; on bude hlavou a ty chvostem.45Všechna tato prokletí na tebe přijdou, protože jsi neposlouchal Hospodina, svého Boha, a nedodržoval jeho přikázání a pravidla, která jsem ti udělil. Budou tě pronásledovat a stíhat, dokud nebudeš vyhlazen.46Budou na tobě i na tvém semeni znamením a divem až navěky.47Když jsi měl naprostou hojnost, nesloužil jsi s radostným a vděčným srdcem Hospodinu, svému Bohu.48Proto budeš sloužit svým nepřátelům, které na tebe Hospodin pošle, a to v hladu a žízni, v nahotě a naprostém nedostatku. Vloží na tvou šíji železné jho, dokud tě nevyhladí.49Z daleka, až od konce světa, na tebe Hospodin přivede národ, jenž přiletí jako orel, národ, jehož jazyku nerozumíš,50surový národ, jenž nebere ohled na starce a neslituje se nad dítětem.51Bude požírat plod tvého dobytka i plody tvé půdy, dokud nebudeš vyhlazen. Nenechá ti obilí, víno ani olej, vrh tvého skotu ani mláďata tvého bravu, dokud tě nevyhubí.52Sevře tě ve tvých všech městech po celé zemi, dokud se nezhroutí tvé vysoké hradby a opevnění, na něž jsi spoléhal. Sevře tě ve všech tvých městech po celé zemi, kterou ti dal Hospodin, tvůj Bůh!53V tom zoufalém sevření, až tě sevřou tví nepřátelé, budeš pojídat svůj vlastní plod – maso vlastních synů a vlastních dcer, které ti dal Hospodin, tvůj Bůh.54Nejcitlivější a nejchoulostivější z vás se bude lakomě ohlížet po svém bratru, po manželce ve svém náručí i po dětech, které mu ještě zbyly.55V tom zoufalém sevření, až tě tví nepřátelé sevřou ve všech tvých městech, nedá nikomu ani kousek masa svých dětí. Bude je pojídat, protože mu nic jiného nezbylo.56Nejcitlivější a nejchoulostivější z vás, která se dříve pro samý útlocit a choulostivost sotva dotkla země špičkou nohy, se bude lakomě ohlížet po manželovi ve svém náručí, po svém synu i své dceři,57po plodovém lůžku, které jí vyjde mezi nohama, i po děťátkách, která porodí. V tom naprostém nedostatku a v zoufalém sevření, až tě tví nepřátelé sevřou ve tvých městech, je tajně sní!58Nebudeš-li pečlivě dodržovat všechna slova tohoto Zákona, zapsaná v této knize, nebudeš-li mít úctu k tomu slavnému a hroznému Jménu, k Hospodinu, svému Bohu,59pak Hospodin podivuhodně rozmnoží tvé rány i rány tvého semene – mohutné a vytrvalé rány, hrozné a vytrvalé nemoci!60Obrátí na tebe všechny egyptské choroby, jichž ses děsil, a tak tě postihnou.[4]61Hospodin na tebe přivede i všechny nemoci a všechny rány, které nejsou zapsány v knize tohoto Zákona, dokud nebudeš vyhlazen.62Protože jsi neposlouchal Hospodina, svého Boha, zůstane vás jen nepatrný počet, ačkoli vás bylo jako hvězd na nebi![5]63Stane se, že tak jako vám Hospodin rád prokazoval dobrodiní a dával vám vzrůst, stejně tak rád vás Hospodin zničí a vyhladí, takže budete vyrváni ze země, kterou přicházíš obsadit.64Hospodin vás rozptýlí mezi všechny národy, od jednoho konce světa po druhý. Tam budete sloužit cizím bohům, které jsi nepoznal ty ani tví otcové, bohům ze dřeva a z kamene.65Mezi těmi národy si však neoddychneš; nenajdeš tam odpočinek ani pro své chodidlo. Hospodin ti tam dá bázlivé srdce, vyhaslé oči a sklíčenou duši.66Tvůj život bude stále viset na vlásku, v noci i ve dne se budeš strachovat, nikdy si nebudeš jistý životem!67Kvůli obavám, kterých se bojíš, a kvůli podívané, kterou uvidíš, budeš ráno vzdychat: „Kéž by byl večer!“ a večer zas: „Kéž by bylo ráno!“68Hospodin tě vrátí do Egypta! S naříkáním[6] půjdeš cestou, o níž jsem ti řekl, že už ji nikdy nespatříš. Tam se budete prodávat svým nepřátelům za otroky a otrokyně, ale nikdo vás ani nebude chtít koupit.69Toto jsou slova smlouvy, o níž Hospodin Mojžíšovi přikázal, aby ji uzavřel se syny Izraele v moábské zemi,[7] kromě smlouvy, kterou s nimi uzavřel na Orébu.[8]

(Lv 26,3; Dt 7,12; Dt 11,13; Dt 26,19; Dt 27,10; Dt 28,15; Dt 30,16)2Alle diese Segnungen werden über dich kommen und dich erreichen, wenn du auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, hörst:3Gesegnet bist du in der Stadt, gesegnet bist du auf dem Land.4Gesegnet ist die Frucht deines Leibes, die Frucht deines Ackers und die Frucht deines Viehs, der Wurf deiner Rinder und der Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein. 15Wenn du nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, hörst, indem du nicht alle seine Gebote und Satzungen, auf die ich dich heute verpflichte, bewahrst und sie nicht hältst, werden alle diese Verfluchungen über dich kommen und dich erreichen: (Lv 26,14; Dt 4,25; Dt 8,19; Dt 11,16; Dt 28,1; Dt 30,17)16Verflucht bist du in der Stadt, verflucht bist du auf dem Land.17Verflucht ist dein Korb und dein Backtrog.18Verflucht ist die Frucht deines Leibes und die Frucht deines Ackers, der Wurf deiner Rinder und der Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein.19Verflucht bist du, wenn du heimkehrst, verflucht bist du, wenn du ausziehst.20Verfluchtsein, Verwirrtsein, Verwünschtsein lässt der HERR auf dich los, auf alles, was deine Hände schaffen und was du tust, bis du bald vernichtet und bis du ausgetilgt bist wegen deines Tuns, durch das du mich böswillig verlassen hast.21Der HERR heftet die Pest an dich, bis er dich ausgemerzt hat aus dem Land, in das du hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (1Kr 8,37; Jr 24,10)22Der HERR schlägt dich mit Schwindsucht, Fieber und Brand, mit Glut und Schwert, Versengung und Vergilbung. Sie verfolgen dich, bis du ausgetilgt bist.[1]23Der Himmel über deinem Kopf wird zu Erz, die Erde unter dir wird zu Eisen. (Dt 11,17; 1Kr 8,35)24Der HERR gibt deinem Lande Flugsand und Staub als Regen. Vom Himmel fällt er auf dich herab, bis du vernichtet bist.[2]25Der HERR stößt dich nieder und liefert dich deinen Feinden aus. Auf einer Straße ziehst du gegen sie aus, auf sieben Straßen fliehst du vor ihnen. Alle Könige der Erde erschauern vor dir.26Deine Leichen liegen da zum Fraß für alle Vögel des Himmels und für die Tiere der Erde und keiner verscheucht sie. (Jr 7,33)27Der HERR schlägt dich mit dem ägyptischen Geschwür, mit Beulen, Krätze und Grind und keiner kann dich heilen. (Ex 9,9; Dt 7,15; Dt 28,60; Zj 16,2)28Der HERR schlägt dich mit Wahnsinn, Blindheit und Irresein.29Am hellen Mittag tappst du im Dunkel wie ein Blinder. Deine Wege führen nicht zum Erfolg. Dein Leben lang wirst du ausgebeutet und ausgeraubt und niemand hilft dir.30Du verlobst dich mit einer Frau und ein anderer schläft mit ihr. Du baust ein Haus und wohnst nicht darin. Du legst einen Weinberg an und hältst nicht einmal die erste Lese. (Dt 20,5)31Dein Ochse wird vor deinen Augen geschlachtet und du bekommst nicht einmal davon zu essen. Dein Esel wird dir weggerissen und kehrt nicht zurück. Deine Schafe und Ziegen werden deinen Feinden ausgeliefert und niemand kommt dir zu Hilfe.32Deine Söhne und Töchter werden einem anderen Volk ausgeliefert, du siehst dir den ganzen Tag nach ihnen die Augen aus und zwingst sie doch nicht herbei.33Den Ertrag deines Ackers und all deinen Gewinn verzehrt ein Volk, das du früher nicht einmal gekannt hast, und du wirst dein Leben lang nur ausgebeutet und misshandelt.34Wahnsinn befällt dich bei dem Anblick, der sich deinen Augen bietet.35Der HERR schlägt dich mit bösen Geschwüren am Knie und am Schenkel und keiner kann dich heilen. Von der Sohle bis zum Scheitel bist du krank. (Zj 16,2)36Der HERR bringt dich und den König, den du über dich eingesetzt hast, zu einem Volk, das du und deine Väter früher nicht einmal gekannt haben, und dort musst du anderen Göttern dienen, Göttern aus Holz und Stein. (Dt 4,28; 2Kr 17,4; 2Kr 25,7)37Alle Völker, zu denen der HERR dich führt, wenden sich entsetzt von dir ab, sagen Spottverse über dich auf und stimmen Hohngelächter an. (1Kr 9,7)38Viel Saatgut trägst du aufs Feld, aber du erntest wenig. Das andere hat die Heuschrecke gefressen. (Dt 24,19; Mi 6,15)39Weinberge legst du an und pflegst sie, aber du trinkst keinen Wein und bringst keinen in den Keller. Der Wurm hat ihn weggefressen.40Ölbäume wachsen überall in deinem Land, aber du hast kein Öl, um dich zu salben. Dein Ölbaum hat die Oliven abgeworfen.41Söhne und Töchter hast du gezeugt, aber sie sind nicht bei dir. Sie sind als Gefangene weggezogen.42Alle deine Bäume und Feldfrüchte nimmt das Ungeziefer in Besitz.43Der Fremde, der in deiner Mitte wohnt, steigt immer höher nach oben, hoch über dich hinaus, und du steigst immer tiefer hinab.44Er leiht dir aus und du kannst ihm nichts ausleihen. Er wird zum Kopf und du wirst zum Schwanz.45Alle diese Verfluchungen werden über dich kommen, dich verfolgen und dich erreichen, bis du vernichtet bist, weil du nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehört und seine Gebote und Satzungen nicht bewahrt hast, auf die er dich verpflichtet hat.46Für immer werden sie als Zeichen und Wunder an dir und an deinen Nachkommen haften.47Weil du dem HERRN, deinem Gott, nicht gedient hast aus Freude und Herzenslust, weil alles in Überfluss da war,48musst du deinen Feinden dienen, die der HERR gegen dich ausgesandt hat. Hunger und Durst wirst du leiden, nackt sein und nichts mehr haben. Er legt dir ein eisernes Joch auf den Nacken, bis er dich vernichtet hat. (Jr 28,13)49Der HERR trägt zum Kampf gegen dich ein Volk aus der Ferne herbei, von den Enden der Erde, das wie ein Adler herabstößt, ein Volk, dessen Sprache du noch nie gehört hast, (Jr 5,15; Bár 4,15)50ein Volk mit unbeweglichem Gesicht, das sich dem Greis nicht zuwendet und für das Kind kein Mitleid zeigt.51Es verzehrt die Frucht deines Viehs und die Frucht deines Ackers, bis du vernichtet bist. Es lässt dir nichts übrig vom Korn, vom Wein und vom Öl, vom Wurf deiner Rinder und dem Zuwachs an Lämmern und Zicklein, bis es dich ausgetilgt hat.52Es belagert dich in allen deinen Städten, bis die Mauern fallen, die hohen, festgefügten Mauern, auf die du dich in deinem ganzen Land verlässt. Es belagert dich in allen deinen Städten in dem ganzen Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gegeben hat. (Jr 5,17)53In der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich einschnürt, musst du die Frucht deines eigenen Leibes essen, das Fleisch deiner Söhne und Töchter, die dir der HERR, dein Gott, geschenkt hat. (Lv 26,29; 2Kr 6,28; Jr 19,9; Pl 2,20; Pl 4,10)54Der weichlichste und verwöhnteste Mann blickt dann bei dir missgünstig auf seinen Bruder, auf die Frau, mit der er schläft, und auf den Rest der Kinder, die er noch übrig gelassen hat,55und möchte niemandem etwas abgeben von dem Fleisch seiner Kinder, das er isst, weil ihm keine Nahrung mehr übrig geblieben ist in der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich in allen deinen Städten einschnürt.56Die weichlichste und verwöhnteste Frau, die noch nie versucht hat, ihren Fuß auf die Erde zu setzen vor lauter Verwöhntheit und Verweichlichung, blickt missgünstig auf den Mann, mit dem sie schläft, auf ihren Sohn und ihre Tochter,57auf die Nachgeburt, die zwischen ihren Beinen hervorkommt, und auf die Kinder, die sie noch gebären wird; denn sie will sie heimlich essen, weil sie nichts mehr hat in der Not der Belagerung, wenn dein Feind dich in allen deinen Städten einschnürt.58Wenn du nicht alle Worte dieser Weisung, die in dieser Urkunde aufgezeichnet sind, bewahrst und sie hältst, aus Furcht vor diesem herrlichen und Furcht erregenden Namen, vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott,59wird der HERR die Schläge, die er dir und deinen Nachkommen versetzt, über alles Gewohnte hinaus steigern zu gewaltigen und hartnäckigen Schlägen, zu schlimmen und hartnäckigen Krankheiten.60Er wird alle ägyptischen Seuchen, vor denen du Angst hast, wieder über dich bringen und sie werden an dir haften bleiben. (Dt 28,27)61Auch alle Krankheiten und Schläge, die nicht in der Urkunde dieser Weisung aufgezeichnet sind, wird der HERR über dich bringen, bis du vernichtet bist.62Dann werden nur noch wenige Leute von euch übrig bleiben, statt dass ihr zahlreich seid wie die Sterne am Himmel; denn du hast nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehört. (Dt 1,10; Dt 4,27)63So wie der HERR seine Freude daran hatte, euch Gutes zu tun und euch zahlreich zu machen, so wird der HERR seine Freude daran haben, euch auszutilgen und euch zu vernichten. Ihr werdet aus dem Land, in das du nun hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, herausgerissen werden. (Dt 30,9)64Der HERR wird dich unter alle Völker verstreuen, vom einen Ende der Erde bis zum anderen Ende der Erde. Dort musst du anderen Göttern dienen, die du und deine Väter vorher nicht einmal gekannt haben, Göttern aus Holz und Stein. (Dt 4,28; Dt 30,3)65Unter diesen Nationen wirst du keine Ruhe finden. Es wird keine Stelle geben, wohin du deinen Fuß setzen kannst. Der HERR wird dir dort das Herz erzittern, die Augen verlöschen und den Atem stocken lassen.66Du wirst in Lebensgefahr schweben, bei Nacht und bei Tag erschrecken und nicht mehr an dein Leben glauben.67Am Morgen wirst du sagen: Wenn es doch schon Abend wäre!, und am Abend: Wenn es doch schon Morgen wäre! - um dem Schrecken zu entfliehen, der dein Herz befällt, und dem Anblick, der sich deinen Augen bietet.68Der HERR wird dich auf Schiffen nach Ägypten zurückbringen, auf einem Weg, von dem ich dir gesagt hatte: Du sollst ihn niemals wiedersehen. Dort werdet ihr euch deinen Feinden als Sklaven und Sklavinnen zum Verkauf anbieten, aber niemand wird euch kaufen. (Gn 26,2; Dt 17,16; Jr 43,7; Oz 8,13; Oz 9,3)
