1 Tato jsou slova smlouvy, kteráž přikázal Hospodin Mojžíšovi učiniti s syny Izraelskými v zemi Moábské, mimo onu smlouvu, kterouž učinil s nimi na Orébě. 2 I svolav Mojžíš všecken lid Izraelský, řekl jim: Vy sami viděli jste všecky věci, kteréž učinil Hospodin před očima vašima v zemi Egyptské, Faraonovi, i všechněm služebníkům jeho, i vší zemi jeho, 3 Zkušování veliká, kteráž viděly oči tvé, znamení i zázraky ty veliké. 4 A však nedal vám Hospodin srdce k srozumění, a očí k vidění, a uší k slyšení až do tohoto dne. 5 A vedl jsem vás čtyřidceti let po poušti, nezvetšela roucha vaše na vás, a obuv vaše neztrhala se na nohách vašich. 6 Chleba jste nejedli, vína a nápoje opojného jste nepili, abyste poznali, že já jsem Hospodin Bůh váš. 7 A když jste přišli na toto místo, vytáhl Seon, král Ezebon, a Og, král Bázan, proti nám k boji, a porazili jsme je, 8 A vzali jsme zemi jejich, i dali jsme ji v dědictví pokolení Rubenovu a Gádovu, a polovici pokolení Manassesova. 9 Ostříhejtež tedy slov smlouvy této a čiňte je, aby se vám šťastně vedlo všecko, což byste činili. 10 Vy všickni dnes stojíte před Hospodinem Bohem svým, knížata vaše v pokoleních vašich, starší vaši a úředníci vaši, všickni muži Izraelští, 11 Dítky vaše i ženy vaše, i příchozí vaši, kteříž bydlejí u prostřed stanů vašich, i ten, kterýž dříví seká, i ten, kterýž váží vodu, 12 Abyste vešli v smlouvu Hospodina Boha svého, a v přísahu jeho, v kteroužto smlouvu Hospodin Bůh tvůj dnes vchází s tebou, 13 Aby tě sobě dnes postavil za lid, a on byl tobě za Boha, jakož mluvil tobě, a jakož s přísahou zaslíbil otcům tvým, Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi. 14 A ne s vámi samými činím smlouvu tuto a přísahu tuto, 15 Ale i s každým tím, jenž tuto dnes s námi stojí před Hospodinem Bohem naším, i s tím, jehož není tuto dnes s námi. 16 Nebo vy víte, kterak jsme bydlili v zemi Egyptské, a kterak jsme šli prostředkem těch národů, až jsme naskrze prošli. 17 A viděli jste ohavnosti jejich i modly jejich, dřevo i kámen, stříbro i zlato, kteréž jest při nich. 18 Hleďtež, ať nebývá mezi vámi muže, aneb ženy, aneb čeledi, aneb pokolení, jehož by srdce odvrátilo se dnes od Hospodina Boha našeho, a šel by sloužiti bohům těch národů; ať nebývá mezi vámi kořene plodícího jed a hořkost. 19 I stalo by se, že uslyše takový slova zlořečení tohoto, dobrořečil by sobě v srdci svém, řka: Pokoj míti budu, bychť pak i chodil podlé žádosti srdce svého; i přidal by opilou žíznivé. 20 Nechceť Hospodin odpustiti takovému, nebo tehdáž rozpálí se prchlivost Hospodinova a zůřivost jeho proti takovému člověku, tak že připadne na něj všeliké zlořečení, o kterémž psáno jest v knize této; i vyhladí Hospodin jméno jeho pod nebem. 21 A odloučí jej Hospodin s jeho zlým ode všech pokolení Izraelských, vedlé všech zlořečení smlouvy zapsané v této knize zákona, 22 Tak že řekne věk potomní, synové vaši, kteříž povstanou po vás, i cizozemec, kterýž přijde z země daleké, (když uzří rány země této, i neduhy její, kteréž uvedl na ni Hospodin, 23 Sirou a solí vypálenou všecku tu zemi, a že se nemůž síti, ani co vzcházeti, ani jaké byliny růsti na ní, rovně jako na místě, kdež jest podvrácena Sodoma a Gomora, Adama a Seboim, kteréž podvrátil Hospodin v hněvě svém a v prchlivosti své), 24 Řeknou všickni národové: Proč jest tak učinil Hospodin zemi této? Kteraký jest to hněv prchlivosti jeho náramné? 25 A bude odpovědíno: Proto že opustili smlouvu Hospodina Boha otců svých, kterouž učinil s nimi, když je vyvedl z země Egyptské. 26 Nebo odcházejíce, sloužili bohům cizím a klaněli se jim, bohům, kterýchž neznali, kteříž se s nimi také ničímž dobrým nezdělili. 27 I rozhněvala se prchlivost Hospodinova na tu zemi, tak že uvedl na ni všecko zlořečení zapsané v knize této. 28 Protož vyplénil je Hospodin z země jejich v hněvě, v rozpálení a v prchlivosti veliké, a vyvrhl je do země jiné, jakž to ukazuje dnešní den. 29 Věci skryté jsou Hospodina Boha našeho, věci pak zjevené ty jsou naše a synů našich, abychom plnili všecka slova zákona tohoto.

1 Mojžíš svolal celý Izrael a řekl jim: Na vlastní oči jste viděli, co učinil Hospodin v egyptské zemi faraónovi a všem jeho služebníkům i celé jeho zemi, 2 na vlastní oči jsi viděl veliké zkoušky, znamení a ony veliké zázraky. 3 Ale Hospodin vám nedal srdce, aby chápalo, ani oči, aby viděly, ani uši, aby slyšely, až do tohoto dne. 4 Když jsem vás vodil čtyřicet let pouští, pláště vám nezvetšely a opánky ti na noze nezpuchřely. 5 Nejedli jste chléb a nepili jste víno ani opojný nápoj, abyste poznali, že já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh. 6 Když jste přišli k tomuto místu, vytáhl proti nám k boji chešbónský král Síchon a bášanský král Óg, ale pobili jsme je 7 a zabrali jsme jejich zemi a dali ji v dědictví Rúbenovcům, Gádovcům a polovině kmene Manasesovců. 8 Dbejte tedy na slova této smlouvy a dodržujte je, abyste měli úspěch ve všem, co budete dělat. 9 Vy všichni stojíte dnes před Hospodinem, svým Bohem, vaši představitelé podle vašich kmenů, vaši starší, vaši správci, všichni izraelští mužové, 10 vaše děti, vaše ženy i tvůj host, který je ve tvém táboře, i tvůj drvoštěp a nosič vody, 11 abys vešel ve smlouvu Hospodina, svého Boha, kterou Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, s tebou dnes pod kletbou uzavírá: 12 že si z tebe dnes ustavuje svůj lid a chce ti být Bohem, jak k tobě mluvil a jak přísahal tvým otcům, Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi. 13 Avšak nejen s vámi uzavírám pod kletbou tuto smlouvu, 14 jak s tím, který tu dnes s námi stojí před Hospodinem, naším Bohem, tak s tím, který tu dnes s námi není. 15 Vždyť víte, jak jsme přebývali v egyptské zemi a jak jsme procházeli územím pronárodů; sami jste jím prošli. 16 Viděli jste jejich ohyzdné a hnusné modly, dřevo a kámen, stříbro a zlato, které mají. 17 Ať není mezi vámi muž ani žena, čeleď ani kmen, jejichž srdce by se dnes odvrátilo od Hospodina, našeho Boha, takže by šli sloužit bohům těch pronárodů. Ať není mezi vámi kořen plodící jed a pelyněk. 18 Mohlo by se stát, že by někdo slyšel slova této kletby a v duchu by si dobrořečil: „Budu mít pokoj, i když si budu žít v zarputilosti srdce, vždyť to dopadne stejně s opilým jako se střízlivým.“ 19 Takovému nebude Hospodin ochoten odpustit. Tehdy vzplane Hospodinův hněv i jeho rozhorlení proti tomu muži a dolehne na něj každá kletba zapsaná v této knize a Hospodin vymaže zpod nebes jeho jméno. 20 Hospodin ho k jeho zkáze odloučí od všech izraelských kmenů, podle všech kleteb smlouvy, zapsaných v knize tohoto zákona. 21 I řekne příští pokolení, vaši synové, kteří povstanou po vás, i cizinec, který přijde z daleké země, až uvidí rány té země a její nemoci, které na ni Hospodin dopustil, 22 celou zemi spálenou sírou a solí, že není osévána, že v ní neklíčí a nevzchází žádná bylina, že je vyvrácená jako Sodoma a Gomora, Adma a Sebójím, které vyvrátil Hospodin ve svém hněvu a rozhořčení, 23 všechny pronárody řeknou: „Proč tak Hospodin s touto zemí naložil? Proč tento veliký planoucí hněv?“ 24 A řeknou: „Proto, že opustili smlouvu Hospodina, Boha svých otců, kterou s nimi uzavřel, když je vyvedl z egyptské země, 25 a šli sloužit jiným bohům a klaněli se jim, bohům, jež neznali a které jim neurčil. 26 Proto Hospodin vzplanul proti té zemi hněvem a uvedl na ni všechno zlořečení zapsané v této knize. 27 V hněvu, v rozhořčení a ve velikém rozlícení je Hospodin vyvrátil z jejich země a vyvrhl je do jiné země, jak je tomu dnes.“ 28 Skryté věci patří Hospodinu, našemu Bohu, zjevné však patří navěky nám a našim synům, abychom dodržovali všechna slova tohoto zákona.

Vaše oděvy na vás nezchátraly, obuv na vašich nohou nezpuchřela, 5 chléb jste nejedli a víno ani pivo nepili. To vše proto, abyste poznali, že já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh. 6 Když jste došli až sem, vytáhl proti vám do boje chešbonský král Sichon a bášanský král Og, ale porazili jsme je. 7 Jejich zem jsme zabrali a dali ji za dědictví synům Rubenovým, Gádovým a polovině kmene Manasesova. 8 Zachovávejte slova této smlouvy. Plňte je, a bude se dařit veškeré vaše počínání. 9 Vy všichni dnes stojíte před Hospodinem, svým Bohem – vaši kmenoví náčelníci, vaši stařešinové a správcové, všichni izraelští muži, 10 vaše děti a ženy i cizinci žijící ve vašem táboře, od dřevařů po nosiče vody – 11 abyste vstoupili do přísežné smlouvy Hospodina, svého Boha. Tu s tebou Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, dnes uzavírá, 12 aby si tě ustavil za lid a stal se tvým Bohem, jak ti slíbil a jak to přísahal tvým otcům Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi.^[1] 13 Tuto přísežnou smlouvu uzavírám nejen s vámi, 14 kdo tu dnes společně stojíte před Hospodinem, naším Bohem, ale i s těmi, kdo tu dnes s námi nejsou. 15 Sami víte, jak jsme žili v Egyptě a jak jsme cestou sem prošli územím různých národů. 16 Viděli jste jejich nechutnosti, jejich hnusné modly – dřevo a kamení, stříbro a zlato, jichž se drží. 17 Ať se mezi vámi nevyskytne muž ani žena, rodina ani kmen, jenž by se dnes v srdci odvrátil od Hospodina, našeho Boha, a šel by sloužit bohům oněch národů. Ať se mezi vámi nevyskytne kořen plodící takový hořký jed! 18 Kdyby takový člověk uslyšel tato přísežná slova, možná by si představoval požehnání a říkal by si: „I když se řídím jen svým zatvrzelým srdcem, budu se mít dobře!“ (Jako by počítal zpitého mezi žíznivé.) 19 Hospodin nikomu takovému nikdy neodpustí – naopak, vzplane proti němu Hospodinův vášnivý hněv! Hospodin jej zahrne každou kletbou zapsanou v této knize Zákona a jeho jméno pod nebem vymaže. 20 Hospodin jej k jeho zkáze oddělí ode všech kmenů Izraele a naloží s ním podle všech kleteb smlouvy zapsané v této knize Zákona. 21 Budoucí pokolení, vaši synové, kteří vás nahradí, i cizinec, který přijde z daleké země, pak spatří pohromy, které postihnou tuto zem, a neduhy, jimiž ji Hospodin vyčerpá, a řeknou: 22 „Všechna zem spálená sírou a solí, nic se neseje, nic neraší, ani stéblo trávy na ní neroste – tak přece byla rozvrácena Sodoma a Gomora, Adma a Cebojim, které Hospodin rozvrátil v zuřivém hněvu!“^[2] 23 Všechny národy se budou ptát: „Proč to Hospodin té zemi provedl? Proč takový výbuch hněvu?“ 24 A dostanou odpověď: „Protože opustili smlouvu Hospodina, Boha svých otců, kterou s nimi uzavřel, když je vyvedl z Egypta. 25 Odešli sloužit cizím bohům a klaněli se jim – bohům, které nepoznali a které jim neurčil. 26 Proto Hospodin vzplanul vůči této zemi hněvem a přivedl na ni každé prokletí zapsané v této knize. 27 Hospodin je v zuřivém hněvu a hrozném rozlícení vyrval z jejich země a vyhnal je do jiné země, kde jsou až dodnes.“ 28 Skryté věci náležejí Hospodinu, našemu Bohu. Zjevné věci však navěky náležejí nám a našim synům – totiž abychom plnili všechna slova tohoto Zákona.

(Dt 5,1; Dt 7,18; Dt 8,2) 2 Mit eigenen Augen hast du jene schweren Prüfungen, die großen Zeichen und Wunder gesehen. (Dt 4,3) 3 Aber einen Verstand, der wirklich erkennt, Augen, die wirklich sehen, und Ohren, die wirklich hören, hat der HERR euch bis zum heutigen Tag nicht gegeben. (Ř 11,8) 4 Ich habe euch vierzig Jahre lang durch die Wüste geführt. Eure Kleider sind euch nicht in Lumpen vom Leib gefallen, deine Schuhe sind dir nicht an den Füßen zerrissen, (Dt 2,7; Dt 8,4; Jz 9,1) 5 ihr habt kein Brot gegessen und keinen Wein und kein Bier getrunken, denn ihr solltet erkennen: Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott. 6 Und so kamt ihr bis an diesen Ort. Partner und Inhalt des Bundes

9 Ihr habt euch heute alle vor dem HERRN, eurem Gott, aufgestellt: eure Anführer, Oberhäupter, Ältesten und Listenführer, alle Männer Israels, (Dt 1,15; Dt 27,1) 10 eure Kinder und Greise, eure Frauen und auch die Fremden in deinem Lager, vom Holzarbeiter bis zum Wasserträger. (Dt 31,12; Jz 8,35; Jz 9,27) 11 Du schreitest jetzt zwischen den Zeichen des Bundes mit dem HERRN, deinem Gott, hindurch, den Zeichen der Selbstverwünschung. Der HERR, dein Gott, schließt heute mit dir diesen Bund, 12 um dich heute als sein Volk einzusetzen und dein Gott zu werden, wie er es dir zugesagt und deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat. 15 Ihr wisst noch von unserem Aufenthalt in Ägypten und von unserem Zug mitten durch die Völker, deren Gebiet ihr durchziehen musstet. 16 Ihr habt bei ihnen Scheusale und Götzen aus Holz und Stein, aus Silber und Gold gesehen. 17 Es soll keinen unter euch geben, weder Mann noch Frau, weder Sippe noch Stamm, der heute sein Herz vom HERRN, unserem Gott, abwendet und anfängt, den Göttern dieser Völker zu dienen. Verwüstung des Landes und Vertreibung

(Dt 4,19) 26 Deshalb entbrannte der Zorn des HERRN gegen dieses Land. Deshalb brachte der HERR den ganzen Fluch, der in dieser Urkunde aufgezeichnet ist, über das Land, 27 riss sie mit glühendem Zorn und großem Unwillen aus ihrem Land heraus und warf sie in ein anderes Land, in dem sie heute noch sind. 28 Was noch verborgen ist, steht bei dem HERRN, unserem Gott. 24 all the nations will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land?
