1Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Ich will noch eine Plage über den Pharao und über Ägypten bringen; danach wird er euch fortziehen lassen; und wenn er euch ziehen lässt, so wird er euch sogar ganz und gar fortjagen. (2Mo 3,20; 2Mo 9,14; 2Mo 12,31; 5Mo 4,34)2So rede nun zu dem Volk, dass jeder Mann von seinem Nächsten und jede Frau von ihrer Nachbarin silberne und goldene Geräte fordern soll. (1Mo 31,9; 2Mo 3,22)3Und der HERR gab dem Volk Gunst bei den Ägyptern; auch war Mose ein sehr großer Mann im Land Ägypten in den Augen der Knechte des Pharao und in den Augen des Volkes. (1Mo 23,6; 2Mo 3,21; 2Mo 12,35; Est 9,4; Est 10,2)4Und Mose sprach: So spricht der HERR: Um Mitternacht will ich mitten durch Ägypten gehen, (2Mo 12,12)5und alle Erstgeburt im Land Ägypten soll sterben — von dem Erstgeborenen des Pharao, der auf seinem Thron sitzt, bis zum Erstgeborenen der Magd, die hinter der Handmühle sitzt; auch alle Erstgeburt unter dem Vieh. (2Mo 12,29; Hi 34,20; Jes 47,2; Am 4,10; Mt 24,41)6Und es wird ein großes Geschrei sein im ganzen Land Ägypten, wie es niemals gewesen ist, noch sein wird. (Jer 31,15; Am 5,16)7Aber bei allen Kindern Israels soll kein Hund die Zunge regen, weder gegen Menschen noch gegen das Vieh, damit ihr erkennt, dass der HERR einen Unterschied macht zwischen Ägypten und Israel. (2Mo 8,18; 2Mo 9,26; 2Mo 10,23; Jos 10,21)8Dann werden alle diese deine Knechte zu mir herabkommen und mir zu Füßen fallen und sagen: Ziehe aus, du und das ganze Volk hinter dir her! Danach werde ich ausziehen! — Und er ging vom Pharao hinweg mit grimmigem Zorn. (2Mo 12,31; Offb 3,9)9Der HERR aber hatte zu Mose gesagt: Der Pharao wird nicht auf euch hören, damit meine Wunder zahlreich werden im Land Ägypten. (2Mo 3,19; 2Mo 7,4)10So hatten Mose und Aaron alle diese Wunder vor dem Pharao getan; aber der HERR verstockte das Herz des Pharao, sodass er die Kinder Israels nicht aus seinem Land ziehen ließ. (2Mo 4,21; Lk 16,31; Joh 12,37)
1Der HERR sprach zu Mose: »Noch eine einzige Plage will ich über den Pharao und über Ägypten kommen lassen. Danach wird der Pharao euch von hier fortziehen lassen. Ja, er wird euch nicht nur ziehen lassen, sondern euch regelrecht fortjagen. (2Mo 12,31)2Fordert alle israelitischen Männer und Frauen auf, sie sollen ihre ägyptischen Nachbarn um silberne und goldene Gegenstände bitten.« (2Mo 3,22; 2Mo 12,35)3Der HERR aber sorgte dafür, dass die Ägypter den Israeliten wohlgesinnt waren. Mose war bei den Ministern des Pharaos und beim ägyptischen Volk sogar hoch geachtet. (2Mo 3,21; 2Mo 12,36; 5Mo 34,10)4Mose kündigte dem Pharao an: »So spricht der HERR: ›Um Mitternacht werde ich durch Ägypten gehen. (2Mo 12,29)5Dann werden alle erstgeborenen Söhne der Ägypter sterben, vom ältesten Sohn des Pharaos, der auf dem Thron sitzt, bis zum ältesten Sohn einer Sklavin, die mit der Handmühle Korn mahlt. Auch alle erstgeborenen Tiere werden sterben. (2Mo 12,12; Ps 78,51; Ps 105,36; Ps 135,8; Ps 136,10)6Dann werden die Menschen in ganz Ägypten klagen und weinen, wie es noch nie zuvor geschehen ist und auch nie mehr geschehen wird. (2Mo 12,30; Am 5,17)7Den Israeliten jedoch und ihren Tieren wird nicht das Geringste geschehen, nicht einmal ein Hund wird sie anknurren. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass der HERR einen Unterschied zwischen den Ägyptern und den Israeliten macht.‹ (2Mo 8,18)8Alle diese Ihre Minister werden zu mir kommen und mich auf Knien anflehen: ›Bitte zieh fort, du und das ganze Volk der Israeliten!‹ Und danach werde ich gehen!« Nach diesen Worten ging Mose voll Zorn vom Pharao fort. (2Mo 12,31; Hebr 11,27)9Der HERR hatte nämlich zu Mose gesagt: »Der Pharao wird nicht auf euch hören, damit ich in Ägypten viele Wunder tun kann.« (2Mo 7,3)10Obwohl Mose und Aaron alle diese Wunder vor dem Pharao vollbracht hatten, verhärtete der HERR sein Herz, sodass der Pharao die Israeliten nicht aus seinem Land ziehen ließ. (2Mo 4,21; Röm 2,5; Röm 9,17)
1The Lord said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely. (2Mo 4,23; 2Mo 12,31; 2Mo 12,33; 2Mo 12,39)2Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.” (2Mo 3,22; 2Mo 12,35)3And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people. (2Mo 3,21; 2Mo 12,36)4So Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, (2Mo 12,29; Hi 34,20; Am 4,10)5and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle. (Mt 24,41; Lk 17,35)6There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again. (2Mo 12,30; Am 5,16)7But not a dog shall growl against any of the people of Israel, either man or beast, that you may know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.’ (2Mo 8,22; 2Mo 9,4)8And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger. (2Mo 12,33)9Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” (2Mo 3,19; 2Mo 7,3; 2Mo 7,4; 2Mo 10,1)10Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go out of his land. (2Mo 4,21)
1The LORD had spoken to Moses. He had said, ‘I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you and your people go. When he does, he will drive every one of you away.2Tell the men and women alike to ask their neighbours for things made out of silver and gold.’3The LORD caused the Egyptians to treat the Israelites in a kind way. Pharaoh’s officials and the people had great respect for Moses.4Moses told Pharaoh, ‘The LORD says, “About midnight I will go through every part of Egypt.5Every eldest son in Egypt will die. The eldest son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, will die. The eldest son of every female slave, who works at her hand mill, will die. All the male animals born first to their mothers among the cattle will also die.6There will be loud crying all over Egypt. It will be worse than it’s ever been before. And nothing like it will ever be heard again.7But among the Israelites not even one dog will bark at any person or animal.” Then you will know that the LORD treats Egypt differently from us.8All your officials will come and bow down to me. They will say, “Go, you and all the people who follow you!” After that, I will leave.’ Moses was very angry when he left Pharaoh.9The LORD had spoken to Moses. He had said, ‘Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you. So I will multiply the amazing things I will do in Egypt.’10Moses and Aaron performed all these amazing things in the sight of Pharaoh. But the LORD made Pharaoh stubborn. He wouldn’t let the people of Israel go out of his country.
