1Am Anfang schuf Gott Himmel und Erde.2Die Erde war ungestaltet und leer, Finsternis lag über den tiefen Fluten, und über dem Wasser schwebte der Geist Gottes[1].3Gott sprach: »Licht soll entstehen!«, und Licht leuchtete auf.4Gott betrachtete das Licht: Es war gut. Er trennte Licht und Finsternis voneinander5und nannte das Licht »Tag« und die Finsternis »Nacht«. Es wurde Abend und es wurde Morgen, das war der erste Tag[2].6Gott sprach: »Im Wasser soll sich ein Gewölbe bilden. Zwischen dem Wasser ´unten` und dem Wasser ´über dem Gewölbe` soll ein Raum[3] entstehen.«7So geschah es: Gott machte ein Gewölbe und trennte damit das Wasser unter dem Gewölbe von dem Wasser darüber.8Das Gewölbe nannte er »Himmel«. Es wurde Abend und wieder Morgen, das war der zweite Tag[4].9Gott sprach: »Das Wasser unterhalb des Himmels soll sich an einem Ort sammeln, damit das Trockene zum Vorschein kommt.« So geschah es.10Gott nannte das Trockene »Erde« und die gesammelten Wassermassen »Meer«. Gott betrachtete sein Werk: Es war gut.11Gott sprach: »Die Erde soll frisches Grün hervorbringen, Pflanzen, die Samen tragen, und Bäume aller Art, die Früchte mit Samen tragen.« So geschah es:12Die Erde brachte frisches Grün hervor, Pflanzen aller Art, die Samen trugen, und Bäume aller Art, die Früchte mit Samen trugen. Sie sollen als Zeichen ´dienen und` Festzeiten, Tage und Jahre anzeigen.15Als Lichter sollen sie am Himmelsgewölbe stehen und über der Erde leuchten.« So geschah es:16Gott machte zwei große Lichter: ein größeres, um den Tag zu regieren, und ein kleineres, um die Nacht zu regieren; dazu ´alle` Sterne.17Er setzte sie an das Himmelsgewölbe, um die Erde zu beleuchten,18über Tag und Nacht zu regieren und Licht und Finsternis zu trennen. Gott betrachtete sein Werk: Es war gut.19Es wurde Abend und wieder Morgen, das war der vierte Tag.20Gott sprach: »Im Wasser soll es von Lebewesen wimmeln, und in der Luft[5] sollen Vögel fliegen.«21So schuf Gott die großen Meerestiere[6] und alle anderen Arten von Lebewesen, die sich im Wasser tummeln, sowie alle Arten von Vögeln. Gott betrachtete sein Werk: Es war gut.22Er segnete seine Geschöpfe[7] und sagte: »Seid fruchtbar und vermehrt euch! ´Die Wassertiere` sollen die Meere füllen und die Vögel sich auf der Erde vermehren!«23Es wurde Abend und wieder Morgen, das war der fünfte Tag.24Gott sprach: »Die Erde soll Lebewesen aller Art hervorbringen: Nutztiere, Kriechtiere[8] und wilde Tiere[9].« So geschah es:25Gott machte alle Arten von wilden Tieren, Nutztieren und Kriechtieren. Er betrachtete sein Werk: Es war gut.26Gott sprach: »Lasst uns Menschen machen als unser Ebenbild, das uns ähnlich ist. Sie sollen über die Fische im Meer, die Vögel am Himmel, die Nutztiere, die wilden Tiere[10] und alle Kriechtiere herrschen.«27So schuf Gott den Menschen als sein Bild. Als Gottes Ebenbild schuf er ihn. Als Mann und als Frau[11] schuf er sie.28Gott segnete die Menschen und sagte zu ihnen: »Seid fruchtbar und vermehrt euch. Bevölkert die Erde und nehmt sie in Besitz. Herrscht über die Fische im Meer, die Vögel am Himmel und alle Kriechtiere.«29Weiter sagte Gott: »Als Nahrung gebe ich euch alle samentragenden Pflanzen auf der Erde sowie die Früchte aller Bäume[12].30Die Landtiere, Vögel und Kriechtiere dagegen – also alle Tiere, die Lebensatem in sich tragen – sollen sich von Blättern und Halmen[13] ernähren.« So geschah es.31Gott betrachtete alles, was er gemacht hatte: Es war alles sehr gut. Es wurde Abend und wieder Morgen, das war der sechste Tag.
6Und Gott sprach: Es werde eine Ausdehnung inmitten der Wasser, die bilde eine Scheidung zwischen den Wassern! (1Kor 14,33)7Und Gott machte die Ausdehnung und schied das Wasser unter der Ausdehnung von dem Wasser über der Ausdehnung. Und es geschah so. (Hi 37,18; Ps 150,1; Spr 8,27; Jer 10,12)8Und Gott nannte die Ausdehnung Himmel. Und es wurde Abend, und es wurde Morgen: der zweite Tag. (Hi 9,8; Ps 19,1; Jes 40,22)
Der dritte Tag
9Und Gott sprach: Es sammle sich das Wasser unter dem Himmel an einen Ort, damit man das Trockene sehe! Und es geschah so. (Ps 24,1; Spr 8,29; 2Petr 3,5)10Und Gott nannte das Trockene Erde; aber die Sammlung der Wasser nannte er Meer. Und Gott sah, dass es gut war. Der vierte Tag
14Und Gott sprach: Es sollen Lichter an der Himmelsausdehnung sein, zur Unterscheidung von Tag und Nacht, die sollen als Zeichen dienen und zur Bestimmung der Zeiten und der Tage und Jahre, (1Mo 8,22; Ps 74,16; Ps 104,19; Lk 21,25; Offb 21,23; Offb 22,5)15und als Leuchten an der Himmelsausdehnung, dass sie die Erde beleuchten! Und es geschah so.16Und Gott machte die zwei großen Lichter, das große Licht zur Beherrschung des Tages und das kleinere Licht zur Beherrschung der Nacht; dazu die Sterne. (Hi 38,31; Ps 8,4; Ps 136,8; Jes 40,26; Jer 31,35)17Und Gott setzte sie an die Himmelsausdehnung, damit sie die Erde beleuchten (5Mo 4,19)18und den Tag und die Nacht beherrschen und Licht und Finsternis scheiden. Der fünfte Tag
20Und Gott sprach: Das Wasser soll wimmeln von einer Fülle lebender Wesen, und es sollen Vögel dahinfliegen über die Erde an der Himmelsausdehnung! (Ps 8,9; Ps 146,6; Apg 14,15)21Und Gott schuf die großen Meerestiere und alle lebenden Wesen, die sich regen, von denen das Wasser wimmelt, nach ihrer Art, dazu allerlei Vögel mit Flügeln nach ihrer Art. Die Erschaffung des Menschen
