1 Když se přiblížili k Jeruzalému a přišli do Betfage na Olivové hoře, poslal Ježíš dva učedníky2 a řekl jim: „Jděte do vesnice, která je před vámi, a hned naleznete přivázanou oslici a s ní oslátko. Odvažte je a přiveďte ke mně.3 A kdyby vám někdo něco říkal, odpovězte: ‚Pán je potřebuje.‘ A ten člověk je hned pošle.“4 To se stalo, aby se splnilo, co je řečeno ústy proroka: 5 ‚Povězte dceři siónské: Hle, král tvůj přichází k tobě, tichý a sedící na oslici, na oslátku té, která je podrobena jhu.‘ 6 Učedníci šli a učinili, co jim Ježíš přikázal.7 Přivedli oslici i oslátko, položili na ně pláště a on se na ně posadil.8 A mohutný zástup prostíral na cestu své pláště, jiní odsekávali ratolesti stromů a stlali je na cestu.9 Zástupy, které šly před ním i za ním, volaly: „Hosanna Synu Davidovu! Požehnaný, který přichází ve jménu Hospodinově! Hosanna na výsostech!“
— Očištění chrámu
10 Když vjel Ježíš do Jeruzaléma, po celém městě nastal rozruch; ptali se: „Kdo to je?“11 Zástupy odpovídaly: „To je ten prorok Ježíš z Nazareta v Galileji.“12 Ježíš vešel do chrámu a vyhnal prodavače a kupující v nádvoří, zpřevracel stoly směnárníků i stánky prodavačů holubů;13 řekl jim: „Je psáno: ‚Můj dům bude zván domem modlitby,‘ ale vy z něho děláte doupě lupičů.“14 I přistoupili k němu v chrámě slepí a chromí, a on je uzdravil. 15 Když velekněží a zákoníci viděli jeho udivující činy i děti volající v chrámě „Hosanna Synu Davidovu“, rozhněvali se16 a řekli mu: „Slyšíš, co to říkají?“ Ježíš jim odpověděl: „Ovšem! Nikdy jste nečetli: ‚Z úst nemluvňátek a kojenců připravil sis chválu?‘“17 Opustil je a vyšel ven z města do Betanie; tam přenocoval.
— Prokletí fíkovníku
18 Když se ráno vracel do města, dostal hlad.19 Spatřil u cesty fíkovník a šel k němu; ale nic na něm nenalezl, jen listí. I řekl mu: „Ať se na tobě na věky neurodí ovoce!“ A ten fíkovník najednou uschl.20 Když to učedníci viděli, podivili se: „Jak najednou ten fíkovník uschl!“21 Ježíš jim odpověděl: „Amen, pravím vám, budete-li mít víru a nebudete pochybovat, učiníte nejen to, co se stalo s fíkovníkem; ale i kdybyste této hoře řekli: ‚Zdvihni se a vrhni se do moře‘ – stane se to.22 A věříte-li, dostanete všecko, oč budete v modlitbě prosit.“
— Spor o Ježíšovu pravomoc
23 Když přišel do chrámu a učil, přistoupili k němu velekněží a starší lidu a řekli: „Jakou mocí to činíš? A kdo ti tuto moc dal?“24 Ježíš jim odpověděl: „Já vám také položím otázku; jestliže ji zodpovíte, i já vám povím, jakou mocí to činím.25 Odkud měl Jan pověření křtít? Z nebe, či od lidí?“ Oni se mezi sebou dohadovali: „Řekneme-li ‚z nebe‘, namítne nám: ‚Proč jste mu tedy neuvěřili?‘26 Řekneme-li však ‚z lidí‘, máme obavy ze zástupu; vždyť všichni mají Jana za proroka.“27 Odpověděli tedy Ježíšovi: „Nevíme.“ Tu jim řekl i on: „Ani já vám nepovím, jakou mocí to činím.“
— Podobenství o dvou synech
28 „Co myslíte? Jeden člověk měl dva syny. Přišel a řekl prvnímu: ‚Synu, jdi dnes pracovat na vinici!‘29 On odpověděl: ‚Nechce se mi.‘ Ale potom toho litoval a šel.30 Otec přišel k druhému a řekl mu totéž. Ten odpověděl: ‚Ano, pane.‘ Ale nešel.31 Kdo z těch dvou splnil vůli svého otce?“ Odpověděli: „Ten první!“ Ježíš jim řekl: „Amen, pravím vám, že celníci a nevěstky předcházejí vás do Božího království.32 Přišel k vám Jan po cestě spravedlnosti, a vy jste mu neuvěřili. Ale celníci a nevěstky mu uvěřili. Vy jste to viděli, ale ani potom jste toho nelitovali a neuvěřili mu.
— Podobenství o zlých vinařích
33 Poslyšte jiné podobenství: Jeden hospodář vysadil vinici, obehnal ji zdí, vykopal v ní lis a vystavěl strážní věž; potom vinici pronajal vinařům a odcestoval.34 Když se přiblížil čas vinobraní, poslal své služebníky k vinařům, aby převzali jeho díl úrody.35 Ale vinaři jeho služebníky chytili, jednoho zbili, druhého zabili, dalšího ukamenovali.36 Znovu poslal jiné služebníky, a to více než předtím, ale naložili s nimi právě tak.37 Nakonec k nim poslal svého syna; řekl si: ‚Na mého syna budou mít přece ohled!‘38 Když však vinaři shlédli syna, řekli si mezi sebou: ‚To je dědic. Pojďte, zabijme ho, a dědictví připadne nám!‘39 Chytili ho, vyvlekli ven z vinice a zabili.40 Když nyní přijde pán vinice, co udělá těm vinařům?“41 Řekli mu: „Zlé bez milosti zahubí a vinici pronajme jiným vinařům, kteří mu budou odvádět výnos v určený čas.“ 42 Ježíš jim řekl: „Což jste nikdy nečetli v Písmech: ‚Kámen, který stavitelé zavrhli, stal se kamenem úhelným; Hospodin to učinil a je to podivuhodné v našich očích‘? 43 Proto vám pravím, že vám Boží království bude odňato a bude dáno národu, který ponese jeho ovoce.44 Kdo padne na ten kámen, roztříští se, a na koho on padne, toho rozdrtí.“ 45 Když slyšeli velekněží a farizeové tato podobenství, poznali, že mluví o nich.46 Hleděli se ho zmocnit, ale báli se zástupů, protože ty ho měly za proroka.

Bindet sie los und bringt sie zu mir!3Und wenn euch jemand zur Rede stellt, dann sagt: Der Herr braucht sie, er lässt sie aber bald zurückbringen.4Das ist geschehen, damit sich erfüllte, was durch den Propheten gesagt worden ist:5Sagt der Tochter Zion: / Siehe, dein König kommt zu dir. /
Er ist sanftmütig / und er reitet auf einer Eselin / und auf einem Fohlen, / dem Jungen eines Lasttiers. (Za 9,9)6Die Jünger gingen und taten, wie Jesus ihnen aufgetragen hatte.7Sie brachten die Eselin und das Fohlen, legten ihre Kleider auf sie und er setzte sich darauf.8Viele Menschen breiteten ihre Kleider auf dem Weg aus, andere schnitten Zweige von den Bäumen und streuten sie auf den Weg.9Die Leute aber, die vor ihm hergingen und die ihm nachfolgten, riefen:
Hosanna dem Sohn Davids! / Gesegnet sei er, der kommt im Namen des Herrn. / Hosanna in der Höhe![1] (Ž 118,25; Mt 23,39; L 13,35)10Als er in Jerusalem einzog, erbebte die ganze Stadt und man fragte: Wer ist dieser?11Die Leute sagten: Das ist der Prophet Jesus von Nazaret in Galiläa.
Die Reinigung des Tempels
12Jesus ging in den Tempel und trieb alle Händler und Käufer aus dem Tempel hinaus; er stieß die Tische der Geldwechsler und die Stände der Taubenhändler um (Mk 11,15; L 19,45; J 2,13)13und sagte zu ihnen: Es steht geschrieben: Mein Haus soll ein Haus des Gebetes genannt werden. Ihr aber macht daraus eine Räuberhöhle. (Iz 56,7; Jr 7,11)14Im Tempel kamen Lahme und Blinde zu ihm und er heilte sie.15Als nun die Hohepriester und die Schriftgelehrten die Wunder sahen, die er tat, und die Kinder im Tempel rufen hörten: Hosanna dem Sohn Davids!, da wurden sie ärgerlich16und sagten zu ihm: Hörst du, was sie rufen? Jesus antwortete ihnen: Ja. Habt ihr nie gelesen: Aus dem Mund der Kinder und Säuglinge schaffst du dir Lob? (Ž 8,3)17Und er ließ sie stehen und ging aus der Stadt hinaus nach Betanien; dort übernachtete er.
Die Verfluchung des Feigenbaums
18Als er am Morgen in die Stadt zurückkehrte, hatte er Hunger. (Mk 11,12)19Da sah er am Weg einen Feigenbaum und ging auf ihn zu und fand an ihm nichts als nur Blätter. Da sagte er zu ihm: In Ewigkeit soll keine Frucht mehr an dir wachsen. Und der Feigenbaum verdorrte auf der Stelle.20Als die Jünger das sahen, fragten sie erstaunt: Wie konnte der Feigenbaum so plötzlich verdorren? (Mk 11,20)21Jesus antwortete ihnen: Amen, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt und nicht zweifelt, dann werdet ihr nicht nur das vollbringen, was ich mit dem Feigenbaum getan habe; selbst wenn ihr zu diesem Berg sagt: Heb dich empor und stürz dich ins Meer!, wird es geschehen.22Und alles, was ihr im Gebet erbittet, werdet ihr erhalten, wenn ihr glaubt. (Mt 7,7; Mt 18,19; J 14,13; J 15,7; J 16,24; 1J 5,14)
Die Frage nach der Vollmacht Jesu
23Als er in den Tempel ging und dort lehrte, kamen die Hohepriester und die Ältesten des Volkes zu ihm und fragten: In welcher Vollmacht tust du das und wer hat dir diese Vollmacht gegeben? (Mk 11,27; L 20,1)24Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Auch ich will euch eine Frage stellen. Wenn ihr mir darauf antwortet, dann werde ich euch sagen, in welcher Vollmacht ich das tue.25Woher stammte die Taufe des Johannes? Vom Himmel oder von den Menschen? Da überlegten sie und sagten zueinander: Wenn wir antworten: Vom Himmel!, so wird er zu uns sagen: Warum habt ihr ihm dann nicht geglaubt?26Wenn wir aber antworten: Von den Menschen!, dann müssen wir uns vor den Leuten fürchten; denn alle halten Johannes für einen Propheten. (Mt 14,5)27Darum antworteten sie Jesus: Wir wissen es nicht. Da erwiderte er: Dann sage auch ich euch nicht, in welcher Vollmacht ich das tue.
Das Gleichnis vom willigen und vom unwilligen Sohn
28Was meint ihr? Ein Mann hatte zwei Söhne. Er ging zum ersten und sagte: Mein Kind, geh und arbeite heute im Weinberg!29Er antwortete: Ich will nicht. Später aber reute es ihn und er ging hinaus.30Da wandte er sich an den zweiten und sagte zu ihm dasselbe. Dieser antwortete: Ja, Herr - und ging nicht hin.31Wer von den beiden hat den Willen seines Vaters erfüllt? Sie antworteten: Der erste. Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Amen, ich sage euch: Die Zöllner und die Dirnen gelangen eher in das Reich Gottes als ihr.32Denn Johannes ist zu euch gekommen auf dem Weg der Gerechtigkeit und ihr habt ihm nicht geglaubt; aber die Zöllner und die Dirnen haben ihm geglaubt. Ihr habt es gesehen und doch habt ihr nicht bereut und ihm nicht geglaubt. (L 7,29)
Das Gleichnis von den Winzern
33Hört noch ein anderes Gleichnis: Es war ein Gutsbesitzer, der legte einen Weinberg an, zog ringsherum einen Zaun, hob eine Kelter aus und baute einen Turm. Dann verpachtete er den Weinberg an Winzer und reiste in ein anderes Land. (Iz 5,1; Mk 12,1; L 20,9)34Als nun die Erntezeit kam, schickte er seine Knechte zu den Winzern, um seine Früchte holen zu lassen.35Die Winzer aber packten seine Knechte; den einen prügelten sie, den andern brachten sie um, wieder einen anderen steinigten sie. (Mt 22,6)36Darauf schickte er andere Knechte, mehr als das erste Mal; mit ihnen machten sie es genauso.37Zuletzt sandte er seinen Sohn zu ihnen; denn er dachte: Vor meinem Sohn werden sie Achtung haben. (Žd 1,1)38Als die Winzer den Sohn sahen, sagten sie zueinander: Das ist der Erbe. Auf, wir wollen ihn umbringen, damit wir sein Erbe in Besitz nehmen.39Und sie packten ihn, warfen ihn aus dem Weinberg hinaus und brachten ihn um.40Wenn nun der Herr des Weinbergs kommt: Was wird er mit jenen Winzern tun?41Sie sagten zu ihm: Er wird diese bösen Menschen vernichten und den Weinberg an andere Winzer verpachten, die ihm die Früchte abliefern, wenn es Zeit dafür ist.42Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Habt ihr nie in der Schrift gelesen:
Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, / er ist zum Eckstein geworden; / vom Herrn ist das geschehen / und es ist wunderbar in unseren Augen? (Ž 118,22)43Darum sage ich euch: Das Reich Gottes wird euch weggenommen und einem Volk gegeben werden, das die Früchte des Reiches Gottes bringt. Jesus Cleanses the Temple

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree

And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. (L 13,6)20When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?”21And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. The Authority of Jesus Challenged
23And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?” (Ex 2,14; Mt 26,55; Mk 11,27; L 20,1; J 1,25; Sk 4,7)24Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things.25The baptism of John, from where did it come? The Parable of the Two Sons
28“What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ (Mt 17,25; Mt 18,12; Mt 20,1; Mt 21,33)29And he answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind and went. The Parable of the Tenants
33“Hear another parable. And presently the fig tree withered away.20And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.23And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?24And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.25The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?26But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.27And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.28But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.29He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.30And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.31Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.32For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.33Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.35And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.37But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.38But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.39And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.40When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?41They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.42Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.44And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.45And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.46But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
