1 Falešné váhy jsou Hospodinu ohavností, kdežto v přesném závaží má zalíbení. 2 Za zpupností přichází hanba, kdežto s umírněnými je moudrost. 3 Přímé vede bezúhonnost, kdežto věrolomné zahubí pokřivenost. 4 V den prchlivosti neprospěje majetek, kdežto spravedlnost vysvobodí od smrti. 5 Spravedlnost napřimuje bezúhonnému cestu, kdežto svévolník svou svévolí padne. 6 Spravedlnost přímé vysvobodí, kdežto věrolomní se lapí do svých choutek. 7 Když zemře člověk svévolný, naděje přijde vniveč, vniveč přijde očekávání ničemníků. 8 Spravedlivý bývá zachován, je-li v soužení, kdežto svévolník se dostane na jeho místo. 9 Rouhač ústy uvádí druha do zkázy, kdežto spravedliví budou zachováni věděním. 10 Když je dobře spravedlivým, město jásá, když zhynou svévolníci, plesá. 11 Žehnáním přímých se město pozvedá, kdežto ústy svévolníků se boří. 12 Kdo je bez rozumu, pohrdá svým druhem, kdežto muž rozumný mlčí. 13 Utrhač, kudy chodí, roznáší důvěrnosti, kdežto kdo je duchem věrný, ukryje to. 14 Pro nerozvážné vedení padá lid, kdežto v množství rádců je záchrana. 15 Velmi zle dopadne ten, kdo se zaručil za cizího, kdežto kdo zaručování nenávidí, je v bezpečí. 16 Ušlechtilá žena se drží cti, kdežto ukrutníci se drží bohatství. 17 Muž milosrdný činí dobře i sám sobě, kdežto nelítostný drásá i vlastní tělo. 18 Svévolníka výdělek z jeho práce zklame, kdežto kdo rozsévá spravedlnost, má mzdu jistou. 19 Tak spravedlnost vede k životu, kdežto kdo se žene za zlem, spěje k smrti. 20 Hospodin má v ohavnosti lidi falešného srdce, kdežto zalíbení má v těch, jejichž cesta je bezúhonná. 21 Zlý zaručeně nezůstane bez trestu, kdežto potomstvo spravedlivých bude ušetřeno. 22 Zlatý kroužek na rypáku vepře je žena krásná, ale svéhlavá a rozmarná. 23 Touhou spravedlivých je jen dobro, kdežto nadějí svévolníků je prosadit se zuřivostí. 24 Někdo rozdává a přibývá mu stále, kdežto ten, kdo je skoupý, mívá nedostatek. 25 Duše štědrá bude nasycena tukem, a kdo občerstvuje, bude též občerstven. 26 Na toho, kdo zadržuje obilí, láteří národ, kdežto žehnání se snáší na hlavu toho, kdo je prodává. 27 Kdo usilovně hledá dobro, hledá Boží zalíbení, kdežto kdo se pídí po zlu, toho zlo postihne. 28 Kdo doufá ve své bohatství, padne, kdežto spravedliví budou rašit jako listí. 29 Kdo rozvrací svůj dům, zdědí vítr, a pošetilec bude otrokem toho, kdo je moudrého srdce. 30 Ovoce spravedlivého je jako strom života, a kdo se ujímá duší, je moudrý. 31 Hle, spravedlivý dochází na zemi odplaty, tím spíše svévolník a hříšník.
