1 Pomíjeje Ježíš, uzřel člověka slepého od narození. 2 I otázali se učedlníci jeho, řkouce: Mistře, kdo jest zhřešil, tento-li, čili rodičové jeho, že se slepý narodil? 3 Odpověděl Ježíš: Ani tento nezhřešil, ani rodičové jeho, ale aby zjeveni byli skutkové Boží na něm. 4 Jáť musím dělati dílo toho, kterýž mne poslal, dokudž den jest. Přicházíť noc, kdyžto žádný nebude moci dělati. 5 Dokudž jsem na světě, Světlo jsem světa. 6 To pověděv, plinul na zemi, a učinil bláto z sliny, i pomazal tím blátem oči slepého. 7 A řekl jemu: Jdi, umej se v rybníku Siloe, jenž se vykládá: Poslaný. A on šel a umyl se, i přišel, vida. 8 Sousedé pak a ti, kteříž jej prve vídali slepého, řekli: Však tento jest, kterýž sedával a žebral? 9 Jiní pravili, že ten jest, a jiní, že jest podoben k němu. Ale on pravil: Já jsem. 10 Tedy řekli jemu: Kterak jsou otevříny oči tvé? 11 On odpověděl a řekl: Člověk ten, kterýž slove Ježíš, bláto učinil a pomazal očí mých, a řekl mi: Jdi k rybníku Siloe, a umej se. I odšed a umyv se, prohlédl jsem. 12 I řekli jemu: Kde jest ten člověk? Řekl: Nevím. 13 Tedy přivedli toho, kterýž někdy byl slepý, k farizeům. 14 Byla pak sobota, když Ježíš učinil bláto a otevřel oči jeho. 15 I tázali se ho opět i farizeové, kterak by prozřel. On pak řekl jim: Bláto položil mi na oči, a umyl jsem se, i vidím. 16 Tedy někteří z farizeů řekli: Tento člověk není z Boha, nebo neostříhá soboty. Jiní pravili: Kterak může člověk hříšný takové divy činiti? I byla různice mezi nimi. 17 Tedy řekli opět slepému: Co ty o něm pravíš, že otevřel oči tvé? A on řekl: Že prorok jest. 18 I nevěřili Židé o něm, by slepý byl a prozřel, až povolali rodičů toho, kterýž byl prozřel. 19 A otázali se jich, řkouce: Jest-li ten syn váš, o kterémž vy pravíte, že by se slepý narodil? Kterakž pak nyní vidí? 20 Odpověděli jim rodičové jeho a řekli: Vímeť, že tento jest syn náš a že se slepý narodil. 21 Ale kterak nyní vidí, nevíme; aneb kdo jest otevřel oči jeho, myť nevíme. Však má léta, ptejte se ho, on sám za sebe mluviti bude. 22 Tak mluvili rodičové jeho, že se báli Židů; nebo již tak byli uložili Židé, kdož by ho koli vyznal Kristem, aby byl vyobcován ze školy. 23 Protož řekli rodičové jeho: Máť léta, ptejte se jeho. 24 I zavolali po druhé člověka toho, kterýž býval slepý, a řekli jemu: Vzdej chválu Bohu. My víme, že člověk ten hříšník jest. 25 I odpověděl on a řekl: Jest-li hříšník, nevím, než to vím, že byv slepý, již nyní vidím. 26 I řekli jemu opět: Coť učinil? Kterak otevřel oči tvé? 27 Odpověděl jim: Již jsem vám pověděl, a neslyšeli jste? Což opět chcete slyšeti? Zdaliž i vy chcete učedlníci jeho býti? 28 I zlořečili jemu a řekli: Budiž ty sám učedlníkem jeho, ale myť jsme Mojžíšovi učedlníci. 29 My víme, že Mojžíšovi mluvil Bůh, tento pak nevíme, odkud jest. 30 Odpověděl ten člověk a řekl jim: Toť jest jistě divná věc, že vy nevíte, odkud jest, a otevřel oči mé. 31 Víme pak, že Bůh hříšníků neslyší, ale kdo by byl ctitel Boží a vůli jeho činil by, toho slyší. 32 Od věku není slýcháno, aby kdo otevřel oči slepého tak narozeného. 33 Byť tento nebyl od Boha, nemohlť by nic učiniti. 34 Odpověděli a řekli jemu: Ty jsi všecken se v hříších narodil, a ty náš učíš? I vyhnali jej ven. 35 Uslyšel pak Ježíš, že jsou jej vyhnali ven. A když jej nalezl, řekl jemu: Věříš-liž ty v Syna Božího? 36 Odpověděl on a řekl: I kdož jest, Pane, abych věřil v něho? 37 I řekl jemu Ježíš: I viděl jsi ho, a kterýž mluví s tebou, onť jest. 38 A on řekl: Věřím, Pane, a klaněl se jemu. 39 I řekl jemu Ježíš: Na soud přišel jsem já na tento svět, aby ti, kteříž nevidí, viděli, a ti, jenž vidí, aby slepí byli. 40 I slyšeli to někteří z farizeů, kteříž s ním byli, a řekli jemu: Zdali i my slepí jsme? 41 Řekl jim Ježíš: Byste slepí byli, hříchu byste neměli; ale nyní pravíte: Vidíme, protož hřích váš zůstává.

1 Cestou uviděl člověka, který byl od narození slepý. 2 Jeho učedníci se ho zeptali: „Mistře, kdo se prohřešil, že se ten člověk narodil slepý? On sám, nebo jeho rodiče?“ 3 Ježíš odpověděl: „Nezhřešil ani on ani jeho rodiče; je slepý, aby se na něm zjevily skutky Boží. 4 Musíme konat skutky toho, který mě poslal, dokud je den. Přichází noc, kdy nikdo nebude moci pracovat. 5 Pokud jsem na světě, jsem světlo světa.“ 6 Když to řekl, plivl na zem, udělal ze sliny bláto, potřel slepému tím blátem oči 7 a řekl mu: „Jdi, umyj se v rybníce Siloe.“ (To jméno znamená ‚Poslaný‘.) On tedy šel, umyl se, a když se vrátil, viděl. 8 Sousedé a ti, kteří jej dříve vídali žebrat, se ptali: „Není to ten, kdo tu sedával a žebral?“ 9 Jedni říkali: „Je to on.“ Jiní pak: „Není, ale je mu podoben.“ On sám řekl: „Jsem to já.“ 10 I řekli mu: „Jak to, že se ti otevřely oči?“ 11 Odpověděl: „Člověk jménem Ježíš udělal bláto, potřel mi oči a řekl mi: Jdi k Siloe a umyj se! Šel jsem tedy, umyl jsem se a vidím.“ 12 Řekli mu: „Kde je ten člověk?“ Odpověděl: „To nevím.“ 13 Přivedou toho, který byl dříve slepý, k farizeům; 14 toho dne, kdy Ježíš udělal bláto a otevřel mu oči, byla totiž sobota. 15 Proto se ho farizeové znovu dotazovali, jak nabyl zraku. A on jim řekl: „Položil mi bláto na oči, umyl jsem se a vidím.“ 16 Někteří z farizeů říkali: „Ten člověk není od Boha, protože nezachovává sobotu.“ Jiní naopak říkali: „Jak by mohl hříšný člověk činit taková znamení?“ A došlo mezi nimi k roztržce. 17 Řekli tedy znovu tomu slepému: „Za koho ty jej pokládáš, když ti otevřel oči?“ On odpověděl: „Je to prorok.“ 18 Židé nevěřili, že byl slepý a že prohlédl, dokud si nezavolali jeho rodiče 19 a nezeptali se jich: „Je to váš syn, o němž říkáte, že se narodil slepý? Jak to, že nyní vidí?“ 20 Rodiče odpověděli: „Víme, že je to náš syn a že se narodil slepý. 21 Jak to, že nyní vidí, to nevíme, a kdo mu otevřel oči, také nevíme. Jeho se zeptejte, je dospělý, ať mluví sám za sebe!“ 22 To řekli jeho rodiče, protože se báli Židů, neboť Židé se již usnesli, aby ten, kdo Ježíše vyzná jako Mesiáše, byl vyloučen ze synagógy. 23 Proto řekli jeho rodiče: Je dospělý, zeptejte se ho! 24 Zavolali tedy ještě jednou toho člověka, který byl dříve slepý, a řekli mu: „Vyznej před Bohem pravdu! My víme, že ten člověk je hříšník.“ 25 Odpověděl: „Je-li hříšník, nevím; jedno však vím, že jsem byl slepý a nyní vidím.“ 26 Řekli mu: „Co s tebou učinil? Jak ti otevřel oči?“ 27 Odpověděl jim: „Již jsem vám to řekl, ale vy jste to nevzali na vědomí. Proč to chcete slyšet znovu? Chcete se snad i vy stát jeho učedníky?“ 28 Osopili se na něho: „Ty jsi jeho učedník, ale my jsme učedníci Mojžíšovi. 29 My víme, že k Mojžíšovi mluvil Bůh, o tomhle však nevíme, odkud je.“ 30 Ten člověk jim odpověděl: „To je právě divné: Vy nevíte, odkud je – a otevřel mi oči! 31 Víme, že hříšníky Bůh neslyší; slyší však toho, kdo ho ctí a činí jeho vůli. 32 Co je svět světem, nebylo slýcháno, že by někdo otevřel oči slepého od narození. 33 Kdyby tento člověk nebyl od Boha, nemohl by nic takového učinit.“ 34 Odpověděli mu: „Celý ses narodil v hříchu, a nás chceš poučovat?“ A vyhnali ho. 35 Ježíš se dověděl, že ho vyhnali; vyhledal ho a řekl mu: „Věříš v Syna člověka?“ 36 Odpověděl: „A kdo je to, pane, abych v něho uvěřil?“ 37 Ježíš mu řekl: „Vidíš ho; je to ten, kdo s tebou mluví.“ 38 On na to řekl: „Věřím, Pane,“ a padl před ním na kolena. 39 Ježíš řekl: „Přišel jsem na tento svět k soudu: aby ti, kdo nevidí, viděli, a ti, kdo vidí, byli slepí.“ 40 Farizeové, kteří tam byli, to slyšeli a řekli mu: „Jsme snad i my slepí?“ 41 Ježíš jim odpověděl: „Kdybyste byli slepí, hřích byste neměli. Vy však říkáte: Vidíme. A tak zůstáváte v hříchu.“

1 Když procházel kolem, všiml si člověka slepého od narození. 2 Jeho učedníci se ho zeptali: „Rabbi, kdo zhřešil: on, nebo jeho rodiče, že se narodil slepý?“ 3 Ježíš odpověděl: „Nejde o to, zda zhřešil on, nebo jeho rodiče, ale aby na něm byly zjeveny Boží skutky. 4 Musím^[1] dělat skutky Toho, který mě poslal, dokud je den. On ale říkal: „Jsem to já!“ 10 „Jak se ti otevřely oči?“ ptali se ho. 11 Odpověděl: „Člověk jménem Ježíš udělal bláto, pomazal mi oči a řekl mi: ‚Jdi k Siloe a umyj se.‘ A když jsem odešel a umyl se, prohlédl jsem.“ 12 „Kde ten člověk je?“ ptali se. „Nevím,“ odpověděl. 13 A tak toho bývalého slepce přivedli k farizeům. 14 Toho dne, kdy Ježíš udělal bláto a otevřel mu oči, totiž byla sobota. 15 Farizeové ho znovu zpovídali, jak prohlédl. „Položil mi na oči bláto, umyl jsem se a vidím,“ odpověděl jim. 16 „Ten člověk není od Boha, vždyť nedodržuje sobotu!“ říkali někteří z farizeů. Jiní zas říkali: „Jak by taková znamení mohl konat hříšník?“ A tak se rozdělili na dva tábory. 17 Pak se toho slepce znovu zeptali: „Kdo to podle tebe je, že ti otevřel oči?“ „Je to prorok,“ odpověděl. 18 Židovští představení mu ale nechtěli věřit, že býval slepý a prohlédl. Proto si zavolali jeho rodiče. 19 „Je tohle váš syn? Tvrdíte, že se narodil slepý?“ ptali se jich. „A jak to, že teď vidí?“ 20 „Víme, že je to náš syn a že se narodil slepý,“ odpověděli jeho rodiče. 21 „Jak to, že teď vidí, ale nevíme. Nevíme, kdo mu otevřel oči. Ptejte se jeho, je přece dospělý, může mluvit sám za sebe.“ 22 (Jeho rodiče to řekli, protože se báli židovských představených. Ti se už totiž dohodli, že kdokoli ho vyzná jako Mesiáše, bude vyobcován ze synagogy. 23 Proto jeho rodiče řekli: „Je dospělý, ptejte se jeho.“) 24 A tak toho bývalého slepce zavolali podruhé a řekli mu: „Vyznej před Bohem pravdu! Víme, že je to hříšník.“ 25 „Jestli je to hříšník, nevím,“ odpověděl jim. „Vím jen, že jsem byl slepý a teď vidím.“ 26 A tak ho vyslýchali dál: „Co ti udělal? Jak ti otevřel oči?“ 27 „Už jsem vám to řekl,“ odpověděl jim. „Copak jste to neslyšeli? Proč to chcete slyšet znovu? Chcete se také stát jeho učedníky?“ 28 Tehdy mu začali spílat: „Sám jsi jeho učedník! My jsme Mojžíšovi učedníci! 29 Víme, že k Mojžíšovi mluvil Bůh, ale o tomhle nevíme, co je zač.“ 30 „To je právě divné,“ odpověděl jim ten člověk. „Vy nevíte, co je zač, a přitom mi otevřel oči. 31 Víme přece, že Bůh hříšníky neslyší; slyší jen toho, kdo Boha ctí a koná jeho vůli. 32 Jaktěživ nikdo neslyšel, že by někdo otevřel oči slepě narozeného. 33 Kdyby ten člověk nebyl od Boha, nic takového by nedokázal.“ 34 Odpověděli mu: „Narodil ses plný hříchu, a chceš nás poučovat?“ A s tím ho vyhnali. 35 Když se Ježíš doslechl, že ho vyhnali, našel ho a zeptal se: „Věříš v Syna člověka?“ 36 „Pane,“ odpověděl, „kdo to je, abych v něj mohl věřit?“ 37 „Už jsi ho viděl,“ řekl mu Ježíš. „Je to ten, který s tebou mluví.“ 38 „Věřím, Pane!“ zvolal a padl před ním na kolena. 39 Tehdy Ježíš řekl:^[2] „Přišel jsem na tento svět kvůli soudu: aby slepí viděli a vidoucí oslepli.“ 40 Když to uslyšeli někteří z farizeů stojících poblíž, řekli mu: „Cože? Jsme snad i my slepí?“ 41 „Kdybyste byli slepí, neměli byste hřích,“ odpověděl jim Ježíš. „Vy ale říkáte: ‚Vidíme,‘ a tak váš hřích trvá.“

1 Unterwegs sah Jesus einen Mann, der seit seiner Geburt blind war. 2 Da fragten ihn seine Jünger: Rabbi, wer hat gesündigt? Er selbst oder seine Eltern, sodass er blind geboren wurde? 3 Jesus antwortete: Weder er noch seine Eltern haben gesündigt, sondern die Werke Gottes sollen an ihm offenbar werden. 4 Wir müssen, solange es Tag ist, die Werke dessen vollbringen, der mich gesandt hat; es kommt die Nacht, in der niemand mehr wirken kann. (J 12,35) 5 Solange ich in der Welt bin, bin ich das Licht der Welt. (J 8,12) 6 Als er dies gesagt hatte, spuckte er auf die Erde; dann machte er mit dem Speichel einen Teig, strich ihn dem Blinden auf die Augen 7 und sagte zu ihm: Geh und wasch dich in dem Teich Schiloach! Daher riefen sie die Eltern des von der Blindheit Geheilten 19 und fragten sie: Ist das euer Sohn, von dem ihr sagt, dass er blind geboren wurde? Wie kommt es, dass er jetzt sieht? 20 Seine Eltern antworteten: Wir wissen, dass er unser Sohn ist und dass er blind geboren wurde. 21 Wie es kommt, dass er jetzt sieht, das wissen wir nicht. Und wer seine Augen geöffnet hat, das wissen wir auch nicht. Fragt doch ihn selbst, er ist alt genug und kann selbst für sich sprechen! 22 Das sagten seine Eltern, weil sie sich vor den Juden fürchteten; denn die Juden hatten schon beschlossen, jeden, der ihn als den Christus bekenne, aus der Synagoge auszustoßen. (J 7,13; J 12,42; J 16,2) 23 Deswegen sagten seine Eltern: Er ist alt genug, fragt ihn selbst! 24 Da riefen die Pharisäer den Mann, der blind gewesen war, zum zweiten Mal und sagten zu ihm: Gib Gott die Ehre! Und sie stießen ihn hinaus. (Ž 51,7) 35 Jesus hörte, dass sie ihn hinausgestoßen hatten, und als er ihn traf, sagte er zu ihm: Glaubst du an den Menschensohn? 36 Da antwortete jener und sagte: Wer ist das, Herr, damit ich an ihn glaube? 37 Jesus sagte zu ihm: Du hast ihn bereits gesehen; er, der mit dir redet, ist es. (J 4,26) 38 Er aber sagte: Ich glaube, Herr! Und er warf sich vor ihm nieder. 39 Da sprach Jesus: Um zu richten, bin ich in diese Welt gekommen: damit die nicht Sehenden sehen und die Sehenden blind werden. (J 3,19; J 5,24) 40 Einige Pharisäer, die bei ihm waren, hörten dies. Und sie fragten ihn: Sind etwa auch wir blind? 41 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Wenn ihr blind wärt, hättet ihr keine Sünde.
