od Biblion1Žalm Davidův.[1] Nezlob se kvůli zlosynům, nezáviď těm, kdo křivdu působí –2vždyť jako tráva uschnou znenadání, jak jarní zeleň uvadnou!3Spoléhej na Hospodina, konej dobro, obývej zemi a žij v bezpečí.4V Hospodinu měj svoji rozkoš – on touhy tvého srdce naplní!5Hospodinu svěř svoji cestu, doufej v něj a on to učiní:6vyvede tvou spravedlnost na denní světlo, tvou nevinu na slunce polední.7Zůstávej v klidu před Hospodinem, trpělivě na něj vyčkávej. Nezlob se, když někdo slaví úspěch, když někdo provádí, co si umane.8Vyhni se hněvu, zanech zášti, nezlob se, vždyť to jen uškodí.9Bídáci přece budou vymýceni, doufající v Hospodina však zemi obdrží.10Za malou chvíli ničema zmizí, ohlédneš se po něm, a už tu nebude.11Pokorní ale obdrží zemi, rozkoš naleznou v hojnosti pokoje.12Ničema proti poctivému kuje pikle, zuby na něj skřípe zuřivě,13Hospodin se mu ale směje – vidí, že přichází jeho den!14S taseným mečem, s napjatým lukem ničemové napadají chudáky ubohé, aby pobili ty, kdo žijí poctivě.15Ten jejich meč je však bodne do srdce, ten jejich luk se rozláme!16Lepší je málo, co má spravedlivý, nežli bohatství spousty ničemů.17Paže ničemů budou zpřelámány, spravedlivým je ale Hospodin podporou.18Hospodin zná dny bezúhonných, jejich dědictví obstojí navěky.19V zlých dobách nebudou zahanbeni, v hladových dnech se nasytí.20Ničemové však budou zahubeni, Hospodinovi nepřátelé vymizí, jako když trávu z pastviny pohlcuje dým.21Ničema dluží a nechce platit, spravedlivý však má soucit a rozdává.22Požehnaní od Boha obdrží zemi, vyhnáni však budou ti, jež proklíná.23Kroky člověka Hospodin potvrzuje, když jeho cestu schvaluje.24I kdyby zakolísal, přece neupadne, Hospodin za ruku drží jej.25Býval jsem mlád a už jsem starý, nikdy jsem ale nezažil, že by byl opuštěn spravedlivý a jeho potomci že by žebrali.26Stále má soucit a půjčuje druhým, požehnáním jsou i jeho potomci.27Odmítej zlo a konej dobro, pak budeš bydlet v zemi navždycky.28Hospodin totiž miluje právo, nikdy se nezřekne věrných svých; navěky budou zachováni, potomci ničemů však vymizí.29Spravedliví ale obdrží zemi a budou v ní bydlet navždycky.30Ústa spravedlivého moudře mluví, jazykem pronáší spravedlivý soud,31Zákon svého Boha si nosí v srdci, jeho kroky se nezvrtnou.32Ničema na spravedlivého číhá, hledá způsob, jak ho zahubit,33Hospodin ho však nenechá v jeho rukách, nedá ho odsoudit v jeho při!34Spoléhej na Hospodina a drž se jeho cesty. On tě povýší, abys obdržel zemi, ničemy ale vymýtí, uvidíš!35Viděl jsem ničemu hrozné síly, jak rozložitý cedr[2] se rozprostřel.36Pominul ale – hle, už není, když jsem ho hledal, nic jsem nenašel!37Pohleď na poctivé, všímej si upřímných – budoucnost patří pokojným.38Všichni vzpurní však budou vyhlazeni, ničemové nemají žádné vyhlídky!39Od Hospodina je záchrana spravedlivých, on je jim silou v čase soužení.40Hospodin je jim pomocí a vysvobozením, zachrání je před ničemy, vysvobodí je, vždyť v něho doufají!

(Ž 10,8)33The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. (Ž 109,31; 2P 2,9)34Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
