24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 

New International Reader’s Version

24 But God raised him from the dead. He set him free from the suffering of death. It wasn’t possible for death to keep its hold on Jesus.

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
