1 Gott hat uns gerettet Bedankt euch bei Gott, denn er ist gut, und seine Liebe ist unendlich. 2 Das sollen alle die sagen, denen er half aus der Bedrängnis. 3 Die er gesammelt hat, von Osten, von Süden, Westen und Norden. 4 Sie irrten durch die Wüste auf der Suche nach bewohnbaren Orten. 5 Sie hatten Hunger und Durst, ihr Innerstes trocknete aus. 6 Da schrien sie zu Gott, und er kam und rockte das Haus. 7 Er zeigte ihnen den Weg, sie fanden die Städte. 8 Sie sollen Gott danken, er hat sie durch ein Wunder gerettet. 9 Denn er hat Körper und Seele gesättigt mit Wasser und Speisen. 10 Die Bewohner des Dunkels lagen gefesselt, in Elend und Eisen. 11 Denn sie hatten sich gegen Gott aufgelehnt, das hat Gott aufgeregt. 12 Er hat ihnen Unheil, Angst und Lasten auferlegt. 13 Da schrien sie zu Gott, und er rettete sie aus den Bedrängnissen. 14 Er führte sie heraus aus der Finsternis, hat ihre Fesseln zerrissen. 15 Und deshalb sollen sie Gott danken, ihm und seinen Wundern. 16 Denn sie waren hochnäsig, aber er holte sie wieder runter. 17 Viele Dumme litten wegen ihrer Sünden und befanden sich in Not. 18 Ihr gottloses Getue führte sie fast bis in den Tod. 19 Dann erkannten sie die Schuld, die sie auf sich luden. 20 Sie schrien zu Gott, und er holte sie aus ihren Gruben. 21 Und deshalb sollen sie Gott loben, ihn und seine Wunder, denn sie waren hochnäsig, aber er holte sie wieder runter. 22 Sie sollen Dankopfer bringen und Gottes Taten bekannt machen, nicht nur in ihrem Dorf, sondern ringsum in allen Landen. 23 Die Seeleute, die sich mit Schiffen aufs Meer hinaus begaben, 24 konnten viel erzählen über Gottes Wundertaten. 25 Mitten auf dem Meer erfasste sie ein Unwetter, 26 hohe Wellen erwischten das Schiff, und es wurde zerschmettert. 27 Es war kein Ufer in Sicht, sie konnten nicht an Land klettern. 28 In ihrer Not riefen sie zu Gott, ihrem Retter. 29 Er verwandelte Sturm in Stille, nahm sie mit seiner Hand 30 und führte die Männer bis hin auf das Land. 31 Sie sollen Gott danken und seine Wunder bezeugen. 32 Sie sollen allen Menschen erzählen, bis sie sich vor Gott beugen. 33 Er macht Flüsse zur Wüste, Regierungsgebäude zu Ruinen. 34 Gutes macht er schlecht, wenn die Menschen es verdienen. 35 Er macht die Wüste zum Wasserteich, dürres Land fruchtbar. 36 So können Hungrige dort wohnen und Städte bauen, wo vorher nichts war. 37 Sie bauten Felder und Weinberge, und Gott gab seinen Segen. 38 Ihre Herden ließ er wachsen, und sie konnten glücklich leben, 39 doch das Geld stieg ihnen zu Kopf, sie wurden reich und abgehoben. 40 Und deshalb schickte Gott sie weg von dem fruchtbaren Boden, 41 doch die Armen beschenkte Gott mit vielen Gaben. 42 Dies ist gerecht, man kann nichts dagegen sagen. 43 Wer weise ist, merkt sich diese Verse und lässt sich von Gott leiten. Und hört auf ihn, gerade wenn’s ihm gut geht und nicht nur in schlechten Zeiten.

Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So

1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! (Ps 100,5; Ps 105,1) 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble^[1] (Ps 106,10; Jes 62,12; Jes 63,4) 3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; (5Mo 32,10; Ps 107,36; Ps 107,40) 5 hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. (Ps 77,3) 6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 12 So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. (Ps 22,11) 13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 36 And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; (Ps 107,4) 37 they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield. 38 By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. (1Mo 12,2; 1Mo 17,20; 2Mo 1,7) 39 When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow, 40 he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; (5Mo 32,10; Hi 12,21; Hi 12,24) 41 but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks.
