1 To the choirmaster. Of David. In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, “Flee like a bird to your mountain, (1 Sa 23:14; 1 Sa 23:19; 1 Sa 24:2; 1 Sa 26:19) 2 for behold, the wicked bend the bow; they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart; (Mez 7:10; Mez 7:12; Mez 21:12; Mez 58:7; Mez 64:4; Yer 9:3) 3 if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”[1] (Mez 82:5; Hez 30:4) 4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man. (Eyü 23:10; Mez 2:4; Mez 18:6; Yşa 66:1; Mik 1:2; Hab 2:20; Mat 5:34; Mat 23:22; Elç 7:49) 5 The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
