Aufruhr der Anhänger Korachs

1 Korach Ben-Jizhar, ein Levit von den Nachkommen Kehats, erhob sich zusammen mit den Rubeniten Datan und Abiram, den Söhnen Eliabs, und On Ben-Pelet 2 gegen Mose. Hinter ihnen standen 250 führende Israeliten, Berufene der Gemeinschaft, angesehene Männer. 3 Sie rotteten sich gegen Mose und Aaron zusammen und warfen ihnen vor: "Ihr nehmt euch zu viel heraus! Die ganze Gemeinschaft ist heilig, und zwar alle. Und Jahwe ist in ihrer Mitte. Warum erhebt ihr euch über die Gemeinde Jahwes?" 4 Als Mose das hörte, warf er sich nieder, das Gesicht auf dem Boden. 5 Dann sagte er zu Korach und seiner ganzen Versammlung: "Morgen wird Jahwe zeigen, wer zu ihm gehört und wer heilig ist, dass er ihn in seine Nähe kommen lässt. 6 Macht Folgendes, du, Korach, und ihr, seine Anhänger: Nehmt euch Räucherpfannen, 7 tut morgen früh Glut hinein und legt Weihrauch vor Jahwe darauf. Und der Mann, den Jahwe erwählen wird, der ist heilig. Ihr nehmt euch zu viel heraus, ihr Leviten!" 8 Dann sagte Mose zu Korach: "Hört zu, ihr Leviten! 9 Ist es euch zu wenig, dass Israels Gott euch aus der Menge der Israeliten ausgesondert hat, sodass ihr in seine Nähe kommen und den Dienst an der Wohnung Jahwes ausüben dürft und dass ihr vor der Gemeinde steht, um ihr zu dienen? 10 Er ließ dich und deine Brüder, die Leviten, in seine Nähe kommen. Und jetzt wollt ihr auch noch das Priesteramt! 11 Du und dein ganzer Anhang, ihr habt euch gegen Jahwe zusammengerottet. Denn wer ist schon Aaron, dass ihr gegen ihn murrt?" 12 Mose ließ Datan und Abiram, die Söhne Eliabs, rufen. Aber sie ließen ihm sagen: "Wir kommen nicht! 13 Ist es dir zu wenig, dass du uns aus einem Land herausgeführt hast, wo es reichlich Milch und Honig gab, um uns in der Wüste sterben zu lassen? Musst du dich auch noch als Herrscher aufspielen? 14 Hast du uns denn in ein Land gebracht, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, hast uns Äcker und Weinberge zum Besitz gegeben? Hältst du uns denn für blind? Nein, wir kommen nicht!" 15 Da wurde Mose sehr zornig und sagte zu Jahwe: "Wende dich ihrem Opfer nicht zu! Nicht einen einzigen Esel habe ich ihnen weggenommen. Keinem Einzigen von ihnen habe ich etwas angetan." 16 Zu Korach sagte Mose: "Morgen wirst du mit deinem Anhang vor Jahwe erscheinen, du, sie und Aaron! 17 Jeder nehme seine Räucherpfanne, lege Weihrauch darauf und bringe das vor Jahwe, 250 Räucherpfannen, auch du und Aaron, jeder seine Räucherpfanne!" 18 So nahm jeder seine Räucherpfanne, legte Glut und Weihrauch darauf und trat an den Eingang zum Offenbarungszelt, auch Mose und Aaron. 19 Korach hatte seine ganze Anhängerschaft gegen Mose und Aaron am Eingang zum Offenbarungszelt zusammengebracht. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit Jahwes vor der ganzen Versammlung. 20 Und Jahwe sagte zu Mose und Aaron: 21 "Entfernt euch aus dieser Versammlung! Ich will sie in einem Augenblick vernichten." 22 Da warfen die beiden sich nieder und sagten: "Gott, du Gott des Lebens aller Menschen! Ein einziger Mann hat gesündigt, und du wirst zornig über die ganze Versammlung?" 23 Da befahl Jahwe Mose, 24 der Versammlung zu sagen: "Entfernt euch aus dem Umkreis der Wohnungen von Korach, Datan und Abiram!" 25 Mose stand auf und ging mit den Ältesten Israels zu Datan und Abiram. 26 Er sagte zu der ganzen Versammlung: "Entfernt euch von den Zelten dieser gottlosen Männer! Fasst nichts an, was ihnen gehört! Sonst werdet ihr samt ihnen und ihren Sünden weggerissen!" 27 Alle entfernten sich aus dem Umkreis der Wohnungen von Korach, Datan und Abiram. Datan und Abiram waren herausgekommen und standen mit ihren Frauen, ihren Söhnen und kleinen Kindern am Eingang ihrer Zelte. 28 Mose sagte: "An dem, was jetzt geschieht, sollt ihr erkennen, dass Jahwe mich beauftragt hat, all diese Taten zu vollbringen, und dass ich das nicht eigenmächtig getan habe. 29 Wenn diese hier sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben; wenn sie zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden, wie das bei allen Menschen geschieht, dann hat Jahwe mich nicht beauftragt. 30 Wenn Jahwe aber etwas Unerhörtes schafft, wenn die Erde ihren Rachen aufsperrt und sie mit allem, was zu ihnen gehört, verschlingt und sie lebendig zu den Toten hinabstürzen, dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass diese Männer Jahwe verachtet haben." 31 Kaum hatte er das gesagt, da spaltete sich der Boden unter ihnen, 32 die Erde öffnete ihren Rachen und verschlang sie mit allem Hab und Gut, mit ihren Familien und allen Anhängern Korachs. 33 So stürzten sie mit allem, was zu ihnen gehörte, lebendig zu den Toten hinab, und die Erde schloss sich über ihnen. So wurden sie mitten aus der Versammlung weggerissen. 34 Ganz Israel, das um sie herumstand, floh bei ihrem Geschrei. "Dass uns nur die Erde nicht verschlingt!", riefen sie. 35 Und die 250 Männer, die das Rauchopfer dargebracht hatten, verzehrte ein Feuer, das von Jahwe ausging.

وَخَمْسِينَ مِنْ رُؤَسَاءِ جَمَاعَةِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، ذَوِي الْمَكَانَةِ مِمَّنْ تَمَّ تَعْيِينُهُمْ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ. 3 هَؤُلاءِ تَأَلَّبُوا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَرُونَ وَقَالُوا: «حَسْبُكُمَا! إِنَّ كُلَّ الْجَمَاعَةِ بِأَسْرِهَا مُقَدَّسَةٌ، وَفِي وَسَطِهَا الرَّبُّ. فَمَا بَالُكُمَا تَتَرَفَّعَانِ عَلَى جَمَاعَةِ الرَّبِّ؟» 4 فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ مُوسَى هَذَا، أَكَبَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، 5 ثُمَّ قَالَ لِقُورَحَ وَسَائِرِ جَمَاعَتِهِ: «غَداً يُعْلِنُ الرَّبُّ مَنْ هُوَ لَهُ، وَمَنْ هُوَ الْمُقَدَّسُ فَيُقَرِّبُهُ مِنْهُ. 6 وَلَكِنْ يَا قُورَحُ افْعَلْ هَذَا أَنْتَ وَجَمَاعَتُكَ: خُذُوا لَكُمْ مَجَامِرَ، 7 وَضَعُوا فِيهَا نَاراً وَبَخُوراً أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ غَداً. وَالرَّجُلُ الَّذِي يَخْتَارُهُ الرَّبُّ يَكُونُ هُوَ الْمُقَدَّسُ، فَحَسْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا اللّاوِيُّونَ!» 8 وَأَضَافَ مُوسَى قَائِلاً لِقُورَحَ: «اسْتَمِعُوا يَا بَنِي لاوِي، 9 أَلَمْ يَكْفِكُمْ أَنَّ إِلَهَ إِسْرَائِيلَ قَدْ أَفْرَزَكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ الشَّعْبِ لِيُقَرِّبَكُمْ إِلَيْهِ لِكَيْ تَخْدِمُوا مَسْكَنَ الرَّبِّ وَتَقِفُوا فِي حَضْرَةِ الشَّعْبِ كُلِّهِ لِخِدْمَتِهِ. 10 فَقَرَّبَكَ مَعَ بَقِيَّةِ إِخْوَتِكَ مِنْ بَنِي لاوِي، حَتَّى صِرْتُمْ تَطْمَعُونَ فِي الْكَهَنُوتِ. 11 إِذَنْ أَنْتَ وَكُلُّ جَمَاعَتِكَ قَدْ تَأَلَّبْتُمْ عَلَى الرَّبِّ، لأَنَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ هَرُونُ حَتَّى تَتَذَمَّرُوا عَلَيْهِ؟» 12 فَأَرْسَلَ مُوسَى يَسْتَدْعِي دَاثَانَ وَأَبِيرَامَ ابْنَيْ أَلِيآبَ، فَرَدَّا: «لَنْ نَحْضُرَ! 13 أَلَمْ يَكْفِكَ أَنَّكَ أَخْرَجْتَنَا مِنْ أَرْضٍ تُدِرُّ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً لِتُهْلِكَنَا فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ، ثُمَّ تَتَرَأَّسُ عَلَيْنَا؟ 14 فَأَنْتَ لَمْ تَقُدْنَا إِلَى أَرْضٍ تَفِيضُ خَيْرَاتٍ، وَلا أَوْرَثْتَنَا حُقُولاً وَكُرُوماً. فَمَنْ تُحَاوِلُ أَنْ تَخْدَعَ؟ إِنَّنَا لَنْ نَحْضُرَ!» 15 فَاحْتَدَمَ غَيْظُ مُوسَى وَقَالَ لِلرَّبِّ: «لا تَقْبَلْ تَقْدِمَتَهُمَا، فَأَنَا لَمْ آخُذْ حَتَّى حِمَاراً وَاحِداً مِنْهُمَا، وَلَمْ أُسِئْ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمَا». 16 وَقَالَ مُوسَى لِقُورَحَ: «امْثُلْ أَنْتَ وَجَمَاعَتُكَ كُلُّهَا أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ غَداً، وَكَذَلِكَ يَحْضُرُ هَرُونُ أَيْضاً. 17 وَلْيَأْخُذْ كُلٌّ مِنْكُمْ مَجْمَرَتَهُ وَضَعُوا فِيهَا بَخُوراً، وَلْيُقَدِّمْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مَجْمَرَتَهُ، فَتَكُونَ مِئَتَيْنِ وَخَمْسِينَ مَجْمَرَةً، وَكَذَلِكَ خُذْ أَنْتَ وَهَرُونُ، كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مَجْمَرَتَهُ». 18 فَجَاءَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ بِمَجْمَرَتِهِ وَوَضَعُوا فِيهَا نَاراً وَبَخُوراً، وَمَثَلُوا عِنْدَ مَدْخَلِ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ مَعَ مُوسَى وَهَرُونَ. 19 وَحَشَدَ قُورَحُ عَلَيْهِمَا كُلَّ الْجَمَاعَةِ الْمُتَآمِرَةِ عِنْدَ مَدْخَلِ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ، فَتَرَاءَى آنَئِذٍ مَجْدُ الرَّبِّ لِلْجَمَاعَةِ كُلِّهَا. 20 وَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى وَهَرُونَ: 21 «افْتَرِزَا مِنْ بَيْنِ هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةِ لأَنِّي سَأُفْنِيهِمْ فِي لَحْظَةٍ». 22 فَانْطَرَحَا عَلَى وَجْهَيْهِمَا وَابْتَهَلا قَائِلَيْنِ: «اللهُمَّ، يَا إِلَهَ أَرْوَاحِ جَمِيعِ الْبَشَرِ، أَتَسْخَطُ عَلَى الْجَمَاعَةِ كُلِّهَا مِنْ أَجْلِ خَطِيئَةِ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ؟» 23 فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: 24 «اطْلُبْ مِنَ الشَّعْبِ أَنْ يَبْتَعِدُوا مِنْ حَوَالَيْ خِيَامِ قُورَحَ وَدَاثَانَ وَأَبِيرَامَ». 25 فَذَهَبَ مُوسَى إِلَى دَاثَانَ وَأَبِيرَامَ، وَتَبِعَهُ شُيُوخُ إِسْرَائِيلَ، 26 وَقَالَ لِلْجَمَاعَةِ كُلِّهَا: «ابْتَعِدُوا عَنْ خِيَامِ هَؤُلاءِ الْقَوْمِ الأَشْرَارِ، وَلا تَلْمَسُوا شَيْئاً مِمَّا لَهُمْ لِئَلّا تَهْلِكُوا مِنَ جَرَّاءِ خَطَايَاهُمْ». 27 فَابْتَعَدُوا مِنْ حَوَالَيْ خِيَامِ قُورَحَ وَدَاثَانَ وَأَبِيرَامَ، وَخَرَجَ دَاثَانُ وَأَبِيرَامُ، وَوَقَفَا أَمَامَ خَيْمَتَيْهِمَا مَعَ زَوْجَاتِهِمَا وَأَوْلادِهِمَا صِغَاراً وَكِبَاراً. 28 فَقَالَ مُوسَى: «بِهَذَا تَعْرِفُونَ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ أَرْسَلَنِي لأُجْرِيَ كُلَّ هَذِهِ الأَعْمَالِ، وَأَنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ صَادِرَةً عَنْ نَفْسِي: 29 إِنْ مَاتَ هَؤُلاءِ مَوْتاً طَبِيعِيًّا، أَوِ ابْتُلُوا بِمَا يُبْتَلَى بِهِ النَّاسُ عَادَةً، فَلا يَكُونُ الرَّبُّ قَدْ أَرْسَلَنِي. 30 وَلَكِنْ إِنْ أَجْرَى الرَّبُّ أَمْراً جَدِيداً، وَانْشَقَّتِ الأَرْضُ وَابْتَلَعَتْهُمْ مَعَ كُلِّ مَالَهُمْ، وَدُفِنُوا فِي بَاطِنِ الأَرْضِ أَحْيَاءَ، عِنْدَئِذٍ تُدْرِكُونَ أَنَّ هَؤُلاءِ الْقَوْمَ قَدِ ازْدَرَوْا بِالرَّبِّ». 31 وَحَالَمَا انْتَهَى مِنْ كَلامِهِ انْشَقَّتِ الأَرْضُ تَحْتَهُمْ، 32 وَفَتَحَتْ فَاهَا وَابْتَلَعَتْهُمْ مَعَ بُيُوتِهِمْ، كَمَا ابْتَلَعَتْ رِجَالَ قُورَحَ مَعَ كُلِّ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ. 33 فَاخْتَفَوْا هُمْ وَكُلُّ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ أَحْيَاءَ فِي بَاطِنِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي انْطَبَقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَبَادُوا مِنْ بَيْنِ الْجَمَاعَةِ. 34 وَهَرَبَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ حَوْلَهُمْ مِنْ صَوْتِ صَرَخَاتِهِمْ قَائِلِينَ: «لِئَلّا تَبْتَلِعَنَا الأَرْضُ». 35 وَانْدَلَعَتْ نَارٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ الرَّبِّ فَالْتَهَمَتِ الْمِئَتَيْنِ وَالْخَمْسِينَ رَجُلاً الَّذِينَ قَرَّبُوا الْبَخُورَ. 36 ثُمَّ قَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: 37 «اطْلُبْ مِنْ أَلِعَازَارَ بْنِ هَرُونَ الْكَاهِنِ أَنْ يَجْمَعَ الْمَجَامِرَ مِنَ الْحَرِيقِ، وَلْيَذْرِ مَا فِيهَا مِنْ جَمْرٍ فَإِنَّهَا قَدْ تَقَدَّسَتْ. 38 وَاطْرُقُوا مَجَامِرَ هَؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ أَخْطَأُوا فِي حَقِّ نُفُوسِهِمْ صَفَائِحَ، لِتَكُونَ غِشَاءً لِلْمَذْبَحِ، لأَنَّهُمْ قَدَّمُوهَا فِي حَضْرَةِ الرَّبِّ فَتَقَدَّسَتْ، فَتَكُونُ عِبْرَةً لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ». 39 فَجَمَعَ أَلِعَازَارُ الْكَاهِنُ مَجَامِرَ النُّحَاسِ الَّتِي قَرَّبَهَا الْمُحْتَرِقُونَ، فَطُرِقَتْ غِشَاءً لِلْمَذْبَحِ، 40 عِبْرَةً لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لِكَيْ لَا يَدْنُوَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ نَسْلِ هَرُونَ لِيُبَخِّرَ فِي حَضْرَةِ الرَّبِّ، فَيُصِيبَهُ مَا أَصَابَ قُورَحَ وَجَمَاعَتَهُ، كَمَا كَلَّمَ الرَّبُّ مُوسَى. 41 وَفِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّانِي تَذَمَّرَ جَمِيعُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَرُونَ قَائِلِينَ: «لَقَدْ قَتَلْتُمَا شَعْبَ الرَّبِّ». 42 فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعَتِ الْجَمَاعَةُ عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَرُونَ مَضَيَا إِلَى خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ، وَإذَا بِالسَّحَابَةِ قَدْ غَطَّتْهَا وَمَجْدُ الرَّبِّ قَدْ تَرَاءَى. 43 فَأَقْبَلَ مُوسَى وَهَرُونُ إِلَى أَمَامِ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ. 44 فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: 45 «اخْرُجَا مِنْ بَيْنِ هَذِهِ الْجَمَاعَةِ لأَنَّنِي سَأُفْنِيهِمْ فِي لَحْظَةٍ». فَخَرَّا عَلَى وَجْهَيْهِمَا 46 ثُمَّ قَالَ مُوسَى لِهَرُونَ: «خُذِ الْمَجْمَرَةَ وَضَعْ فِيهَا نَاراً مِنْ عَلَى الْمَذْبَحِ، وَأَيْضاً بَخُوراً، وَأَسْرِعْ إِلَى الْجَمَاعَةِ لِتُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُمْ، لأَنَّ الْغَضَبَ الْمُحْتَدِمَ قَدْ صَدَرَ عَنِ الرَّبِّ وَتَفَشَّى فِيهِمِ الْوَبَأُ». 47 فَنَفَّذَ هَرُونُ أَمْرَ مُوسَى، وَأَسْرَعَ إِلَى وَسَطِ الْجَمَاعَةِ، وَإذَا بِالْوَبَأِ قَدِ ابْتَدَأَ يَتَفَشَّى فِيهِمْ، فَوَضَعَ الْبَخُورَ وَكَفَّرَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِ. 48 وَوَقَفَ هَرُونُ بَيْنَ الْمَوْتَى وَالأَحْيَاءِ، فَتَوَقَّفَ الوَبَأُ. 49 فَكَانَ الَّذِينَ هَلَكُوا بِالْوَبَإِ أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ أَلْفاً وَسَبْعَ مِئَةٍ، عَدَا الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا بِسَبَبِ قُورَحَ. 50 ثُمَّ رَجَعَ هَرُونُ إِلَى مُوسَى عِنْدَ مَدْخَلِ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ وَقَدْ تَوَقَّفَ سَرَيَانُ الْوَبَإِ.

2 And they rose up before Moses, with a number of the people of Israel, 250 chiefs of the congregation, chosen from the assembly, well-known men. 3 They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, “You have gone too far! For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. 14 Moreover, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? 39 So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burned had offered, and they were hammered out as a covering for the altar, 40 to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company—as the Lord said to him through Moses. 41 На другой день всё общество исраильтян роптало на Мусу и Харуна. «Вы погубили народ Вечного», – говорили они. 42 Но когда, собравшись против Мусы и Харуна, народ повернулся к шатру встречи, его покрыло облако и явилась слава Вечного. 43 Муса и Харун подошли к шатру встречи, 44 и Вечный сказал Мусе: 45 – Оставь этот народ, чтобы Я уничтожил их в одно мгновение. Они пали лицом на землю. 46 Муса сказал Харуну: – Возьми сосуд, положи в него горящие угли с жертвенника и благовония и поспеши к народу, чтобы очистить его. Вечный разгневался; начался мор. 47 Харун сделал, как сказал ему Муса, и поспешил к народу. Среди них уже начался мор, но Харун возжёг благовония и очистил народ. 48 Он встал между мёртвыми и живыми, и мор прекратился. 49 Но четырнадцать тысяч семьсот человек умерло от мора, не считая тех, кто умер из-за Кораха. 50 Харун вернулся к Мусе к входу в шатёр встречи, потому что мор прекратился.
