Salmo 27

(Sal 31,25; Sal 37,7; 2Ti 2,1)

1 Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold[1] of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Eso 15,2; Sal 23,4; Sal 84,11; Sal 118,14; Is 12,2; Is 60,20; Is 62,11; Mi 7,8)2 When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. (Sal 14,4)3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet[2] I will be confident. (Sal 3,6)4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire[3] in his temple. (Sal 23,6; Sal 26,8; Sal 65,4; Sal 84,1; Sal 90,17; Lu 2,37)5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. (Giob 5,21; Sal 31,20; Sal 40,2; Sal 91,1; Is 4,6)6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord. (Nu 10,10; Sal 3,3; Ef 5,19; Col 3,16)7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! (Sal 30,10)8 You have said, “Seek[4] my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”[5] (Sal 24,6; Sal 105,4)9 Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation! (Sal 24,5; Sal 69,17; Sal 102,2; Sal 143,7)10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. (Is 40,11; Is 49,15; Is 63,16)11 Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies. (Sal 5,8; Sal 25,4)12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. (1Re 21,13; Sal 35,11; Sal 41,2; Mat 26,59; Mar 14,55; At 9,1)13 I believe that I shall look[6] upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! (Eso 33,19; Giob 28,13; Sal 52,5; Sal 116,9; Sal 142,5)14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (De 31,7; Gios 1,6; Gios 1,9; Gios 1,18; Sal 31,24; Sal 37,34; Sal 62,5; Prov 20,22)

Salmo 27

King James Version

1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.8 When thou saidst , Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.13 I had fainted , unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
