Volali: ‚Pane, otvor nám!‘12 Ale ženích im odpovedal: ‚Je neskoro, už vás nemôžem prijať.‘13 A tak bdejte a buďte vždy pripravení, lebo neviete, v ktorej chvíli prídem.“14 „Dám vám iný príklad. Jeden človek si pred odchodom na ďalekú cestu zavolal svojich podriadených a zveril im svoje peniaze.15 Každému podľa schopností: jednému päťstotisíc, druhému dvestotisíc a ďalšiemu stotisíc. Potom odcestoval.16 Ten, čo dostal päťstotisíc, začal hneď podnikať a získal ďalších päťstotisíc.17 Ten, čo dostal dvestotisíc, takisto sumu zdvojnásobil.18 Ale ten, ktorému zveril stotisíc, vykopal v zemi skrýšu a peniaze do nej schoval.19 Po dlhšom čase sa pán vrátil a chcel, aby mu podriadení predložili účty.20 Prvý priniesol peniaze a povedal: ‚Pán môj, zveril si mi päťstotisíc, a tu máš zisk – ďalších päťstotisíc.‘21 Pán ho pochválil za dobrú prácu a povedal mu: ‚Osvedčil si sa v malej úlohe, preto ti môžem zveriť oveľa väčšiu. A teraz ťa pozývam na oslavu svojho návratu.‘22 Prišiel ďalší a povedal: ‚Pán môj, zveril si mi dvestotisíc a odovzdávam ti štyristotisíc.‘ –23 ‚Veľmi dobre!‘ odpovedal pán. Vedel si, o čo mi ide.27 Mal si zverené peniaze uložiť a priniesli by mi aspoň úroky.28 Vezmite od neho peniaze a dajte ich prvému.29 Lebo tomu, kto dobre využíva to, čo mu bolo zverené, bude ešte pridané.

1 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps[1] and went to meet the bridegroom.[2] (Mt 9,15; Lk 19,13; Jn 3,29; Zjv 19,7; Zjv 21,2; Zjv 21,9)2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. (Mt 24,45)3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.5 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. (Mt 24,48; Mt 25,19; Hebr 10,37; 2 Pt 3,4; 2 Pt 3,9)6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ (Mk 13,35)7 Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. (Lk 12,35)8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. (Mt 22,2; Mt 24,44; Lk 13,25)11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ (Mt 7,22)12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ (Mt 10,33; Mt 25,11; 2 Tim 2,19)13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. (Mt 24,42; Mt 24,50)14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants[3] and entrusted to them his property. (Mt 21,33; Mk 13,34; Lk 19,12)15 To one he gave five talents,[4] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. (Mt 18,24; Mt 25,14; Rim 12,6; 1 Kor 12,11; Ef 4,7; 1 Pt 4,10)16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. (Mt 13,44)19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. (Mt 18,23; Mt 25,5; Lk 16,2; Rim 14,12)20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.[5] You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ (Mt 24,45; Mt 24,47; Mt 25,23; Lk 16,10; Jn 15,11; 1 Kor 4,2; 1 Tim 3,13; Hebr 12,2)22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, (1 Sam 25,3; 2 Kor 8,12)25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ (Mt 20,14)26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? (Prís 20,4; Mt 18,32; Rim 12,11)27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (Mt 13,12; Lk 12,48)30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Mt 8,12; Lk 17,10)31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. (Mt 16,27; Mt 19,28)32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. (Ez 34,17; Joel 3,12; Mt 13,49; Mt 24,14; Mt 24,31; Mt 28,19)33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. (1 Kr 2,19; Ž 37,22; Ž 45,9; Ž 110,1; Iz 6,5; Iz 65,23; Mt 13,35; Mt 19,29; Mt 20,23; Mt 25,40; Lk 12,32; Lk 19,38; Lk 22,29; 1 Kor 2,9; Ef 1,3; Hebr 11,16; Zjv 17,14; Zjv 19,16; Zjv 21,7)35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, (Jób 31,32; Iz 58,7; Ez 18,7; Ez 18,16; Mt 10,42; Rim 12,13; Hebr 13,1; Jak 2,15; 3 Jn 1,5)36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ (Mt 25,35; Lk 10,33; 2 Tim 1,16; Hebr 10,34; Hebr 13,3; Jak 1,27)37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[6] you did it to me.’ (Mt 10,40; Mt 10,42; Mt 12,50; Mt 25,34; Mt 28,10; Jn 20,17; Rim 8,29; Hebr 2,11)41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Mt 7,23; Mt 13,40; Mt 13,42; Mt 18,8; Mk 9,43; Mk 9,48; Lk 16,24; 2 Sol 1,8; Hebr 6,8; 2 Pt 2,4; Júd 1,6; Júd 1,7; Zjv 12,7)42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, (Jób 22,7)43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ (Lk 10,16; Sk 9,5; 1 Kor 8,12)46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Dan 12,2; Jn 5,29; Sk 24,15; Rim 2,7; Rim 5,21; Rim 6,23)
