Psalm 121

1 Ein Lied für die Pilgerfahrt nach Jerusalem. Ich schaue hinauf zu den Bergen – woher wird meine Hilfe kommen? 

2 Meine Hilfe kommt vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat. (Ps 115,15; Ps 124,8) 

3 Er wird nicht zulassen, dass du stolperst und fällst; der dich behütet, schläft nicht. (Ps 66,9; Ps 127,1) 

4 Siehe, der Israel behütet, wird nicht müde und schläft nicht. 

5 Der HERR selbst behütet dich! Der HERR ist dein schützender Schatten über deiner rechten Hand. (Ps 91,4) 

6 Die Sonne wird dir am Tag nichts anhaben noch der Mond bei Nacht. (Jes 49,10; Offb 7,16) 

7 Der HERR behütet dich vor allem Unheil und bewahrt dein Leben. (Ps 91,10) 

8 Der HERR behütet dich, wenn du kommst und wenn du wieder gehst, von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

1 I look up to the mountains. Where does my help come from? 

2 My help comes from the LORD. He is the Maker of heaven and earth. 

3 He won’t let your foot slip. He who watches over you won’t get tired. 

4 In fact, he who watches over Israel won’t get tired or go to sleep. 

5 The LORD watches over you. The LORD is like a shady tree at your right hand. 

6 The sun won’t harm you during the day. The moon won’t harm you during the night. 

7 The LORD will keep you from every kind of harm. He will watch over your life. 

8 The LORD will watch over your life no matter where you go, both now and for ever.

My Help Comes from the Lord

1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? (Ps 48,1; Ps 87,1; Ps 120,1; Ps 123,1; Ps 133,3; Jer 3,23) 

2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Ps 20,2; Ps 115,15; Ps 124,8) 

3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. (1Sam 2,9; Ps 41,2; Ps 66,9; Ps 97,10; Ps 127,1; Spr 3,23; Spr 3,26; Jes 27,3) 

4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 

5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. (Ps 16,8; Ps 91,1) 

6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. (2Kön 4,19; Jes 49,10; Jon 4,8; Offb 7,16) 

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. (Ps 121,3)
