1Um mir ´Aaron und seine Söhne` zum Priesterdienst zu weihen, gehe folgendermaßen vor: Nimm einen Jungstier und zwei fehlerlose Schafböcke,2außerdem ein ungesäuertes Rundbrot, ein ungesäuertes Ringbrot, das mit Öl zubereitet wurde, und ein ungesäuertes, mit Öl bestrichenes Fladenbrot. Alle Brote müssen aus Weizenmehl gebacken werden.3Lege sie in einen Korb. Sie sollen ebenso wie der Stier und die beiden Schafböcke ´als Opfer` dargebracht werden.
Feierliche Einkleidung und Salbung
4Bring auch Aaron und seine Söhne ´zu mir` an den Eingang des Begegnungszeltes und wasche sie.5Dann nimm die ´hohenpriesterlichen` Gewänder und kleide Aaron damit ein: ´Zieh ihm` das Leinengewand, das Obergewand, den Priesterschurz und die Brusttasche ´an`. Binde den Priesterschurz mit dem daran angebrachten Gürtel fest,6setz ihm den Turban auf und befestige daran den Stirnreif, der seine heilige Berufung zum Ausdruck bringt[1]. (2Mo 28,36)7´Zum Schluss` nimm ´etwas` Salböl, gieß es Aaron auf den Kopf und salbe ihn.8Danach lass Aarons Söhne herantreten und kleide sie mit dem Leinengewand ein.9Binde ihnen allen – Aaron und seinen Söhnen – den Stoffgürtel um und setze seinen Söhnen[2] die Kopfbedeckung auf. Sie sind dazu berufen, meine Priester zu sein; das ist eine feste Ordnung, die für alle Zeiten besteht.[3] Setze sie durch folgende Rituale in ihr Amt ein:[4]
Opfer des Stieres als Sündopfer
10Bring den jungen Stier vor das Zelt der Begegnung. Aaron und seine Söhne sollen ihre Hand auf den Kopf des Tieres legen.11Schlachte den Stier in meiner Gegenwart[5] vor dem Eingang des Zeltes.12Tauch deinen Finger in sein Blut und streiche es an die Hörner des Altars. Alles ´übrige` Blut gieß an den Fuß des Altars.13Nimm das ganze Fett, das die Eingeweide umschließt, den Fettlappen an der Leber sowie die beiden Nieren mit ihren Fetthüllen und verbrenne das alles auf dem Altar.14Das Fleisch, das Fell und den Darminhalt des Stieres dagegen musst du außerhalb des Lagers verbrennen, da es sich um ein Sündopfer handelt.
Opfer des ersten Schafbocks als Brandopfer
15Hol ´anschließend` den ersten Schafbock und lass Aaron und seine Söhne ihre Hände auf seinen Kopf legen.16Schlachte das Tier, fang sein Blut auf und sprenge es von allen Seiten an den Altar.17Zerlege den Schafbock, säubere seine Eingeweide und seine Unterschenkel mit Wasser und leg sie zu den ´übrigen` Fleischstücken und dem Kopf des Tieres.18Verbrenne den Schafbock vollständig auf dem Altar. Es ist ein Brandopfer für ´mich`, den HERRN – eine Gabe, deren Geruch mich gnädig stimmt[6].
Opfer des anderen Schafbocks für die Amtseinsetzung
19Dann hole den zweiten Schafbock. ´Auch` auf ihn sollen Aaron und seine Söhne ihre Hände legen.20Schlachte ihn, nimm ´etwas` von seinem Blut und benetze damit das rechte Ohrläppchen, den rechten Daumen und die rechte große Zehe Aarons und seiner Söhne. Das ´übrige` Blut sprenge von allen Seiten an den Altar.21Dann nimm etwas von dem Blut, das an den Altar gesprengt wurde[7], sowie etwas Salböl und benetze damit ´zunächst` Aaron und sein Gewand und ´anschließend` seine Söhne und ihre Gewänder. So werden sie mitsamt ihren Gewändern mir geweiht.22Da der ´zweite` Schafbock als Opfer für die Amtseinsetzung dient[8], musst du sein Fett abtrennen: den Fettschwanz[9], das Fett, das die Eingeweide umschließt, den Fettlappen an der Leber, die beiden Nieren mit ihren Fetthüllen, dazu die rechte Hinterkeule.23´Weiterhin entnimmst du` dem Korb mit den ungesäuerten Broten, der am Eingang des Heiligtums steht[10], das Rundbrot, das mit Öl zubereitete Ringbrot sowie das Fladenbrot.24Das alles legst du Aaron und seinen Söhnen in die Hände, damit sie es ´mir`, dem HERRN, als Schwingopfer[11] darbieten.25Dann nimm es ihnen wieder aus der Hand und verbrenne das Fett[12] zusammen mit dem Brandopfer vollständig auf dem Altar. Der Geruch dieser Gabe wird mich, den HERRN, gnädig stimmen.[13]26Anschließend nimm das Bruststück des Schafbocks, der für Aarons Amtseinsetzung geopfert wurde, und biete es ´mir`, dem HERRN, als Schwingopfer dar. Dieses Bruststück ist dein Anteil ´am Opfermahl`.27Bei jeder Amtseinsetzung eines Hohenpriesters soll das Bruststück des Schafbocks als Schwingopfer dargeboten und die Hinterkeule vor dem Altar als Opfer emporgehoben werden. So werden diese beiden Stücke mir geweiht.[14] (2Mo 25,2)28Sie sollen ´auch in Zukunft` Aaron und seinen Nachkommen gehören. Diese Ordnung gilt für alle Zeiten. ´Nicht nur beim Einsetzungsopfer`, sondern wann immer die Israeliten mir, dem HERRN, ein Gemeinschaftsopfer darbringen, müssen sie diese Teile abgeben.[15]
Weitergabe der Gewänder an Aarons Nachfolger
29Aarons heilige Gewänder gehen später an seine Nachfolger[16] über. In ihnen sollen sie gesalbt und ins Priesteramt eingesetzt[17] werden.30Wer immer von Aarons Nachkommen seine Nachfolge als Hoherpriester antritt, muss diese Gewänder ´bei seiner Einsetzung` sieben Tage lang tragen. Dann kann er das heilige Begegnungszelt betreten und dort Dienst tun.
Speisevorschriften in Bezug auf den zweiten Schafbock
31Das Fleisch des Schafbocks, der zur Amtseinsetzung der Priester geopfert wurde, sollst du beim Heiligtum kochen.[18]32Aaron und seine Söhne sollen es zusammen mit dem Brot essen, das im Korb am Eingang des Begegnungszeltes lag.33Durch diese Opfergaben wurden ihre Sünden gesühnt, und sie wurden in ihr Amt eingesetzt und mir geweiht. Deshalb sollen sie davon essen. Aber sonst darf niemand davon essen[19], denn diese Gaben sind heilig.34Bleibt etwas vom Fleisch des Einsetzungsopfers oder von den Broten bis zum nächsten Morgen übrig, dann muss es verbrannt werden. Man darf es nicht mehr essen, denn es ist mir geweiht worden.
Wiederholung dieser Rituale während sieben Tagen
35Vollziehe diese ´Rituale` eine Woche lang ´täglich` an Aaron und seinen Söhnen und setze sie damit in ihr Amt ein[20]. Halte dich dabei genau an die Anweisungen, die ich dir gegeben habe.36Jeden Tag sollst du außerdem als Sühnehandlung einen Jungstier als Sündopfer darbringen[21], um den Altar von der Schuld zu reinigen, ´die auf ihm lastet`. Bestreiche den Altar mit Salböl, um ihn mir zu weihen.37´Auf diese Weise` sollst du ihn sieben Tage lang reinigen und mir weihen. Dadurch wird er zu einem besonders heiligen Gegenstand, und wer oder was auch immer mit ihm in Berührung kommt, verfällt dem Heiligtum[22].
Tägliche Opfer
38Opfere ´von da an` auf dem Altar jeden Tag zwei einjährige Lämmer als regelmäßiges ´Brandopfer`,39eines am Morgen und eines in der Abenddämmerung.40´Bring` mit dem morgendlichen Lamm ein Kilogramm[23] Weizenmehl ´dar`, das mit einem Liter[24] besonders reinem Olivenöl vermengt ist, und ´gieße` als Trankopfer einen Liter[25] Wein ´aus`.41Opfere die gleichen Speise- und Trankopfer auch mit dem zweiten Lamm, das in der Abenddämmerung geschlachtet wird. Dies alles soll für ´mich`, den HERRN, verbrannt werden und mich durch seinen Geruch gnädig stimmen.
Gott will bei den Israeliten wohnen
42Das ist das regelmäßige Brandopfer, das ihr auch in künftigen Generationen ´mir`, dem HERRN, vor dem Eingang des Begegnungszeltes darbringen sollt. In diesem Zelt werde ich euch begegnen und mit dir, ´Mose`, sprechen.43Es ist der Ort, an dem ich ´euch`, meinem Volk, nahe bin, und er wird heilig durch meine herrliche Gegenwart[26].44Ebenso wie das Zelt der Begegnung wird der Altar durch meine Gegenwart heilig. Dasselbe gilt für Aaron und seine Söhne, die mir als Priester dienen sollen.[27]45Ich will bei euch Israeliten wohnen und euer Gott sein.46Ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, euer Gott, euch aus Ägypten geführt habe, um bei euch zu wohnen. Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott![28]
1Das ist aber die Verordnung, die du befolgen sollst, um sie zu heiligen, damit sie mir als Priester dienen: Nimm einen Jungstier und zwei makellose Widder, (2Mo 28,3; 2Mo 28,41; 3Mo 8,2)2sowie ungesäuertes Brot und ungesäuerte Kuchen, mit Öl gemischt, und ungesäuerte Fladen, mit Öl gesalbt; aus Feinmehl vom Weizen sollst du alles machen; (3Mo 2,4; 3Mo 6,13)3und lege es in einen Korb und bringe es in dem Korb dar zusammen mit dem Jungstier und den beiden Widdern. (3Mo 8,2; 3Mo 8,26; 4Mo 6,17)4Dann sollst du Aaron und seine Söhne vor den Eingang der Stiftshütte führen und sie mit Wasser waschen. (2Mo 30,18; 2Mo 40,12; 3Mo 8,1; 3Mo 8,6; Hes 36,25; Eph 5,26; Hebr 10,22)5Und du sollst die Kleider nehmen und Aaron bekleiden mit dem Leibrock, und mit dem Obergewand zu dem Ephod, auch mit dem Ephod und dem Brustschild; und du sollst ihn gürten mit dem gewirkten Gürtel des Ephod; (2Mo 28,4; 2Mo 28,8; Offb 1,13)6und setze den Kopfbund auf sein Haupt, und hefte das heilige Diadem an den Kopfbund. (2Mo 28,36)7Und du sollst das Salböl nehmen und auf sein Haupt gießen und ihn salben. (2Mo 28,41; Ps 133,2)8Und seine Söhne sollst du auch herzubringen und ihnen die Leibröcke anlegen. (2Mo 28,40; 3Mo 8,13)9Und gürte sie, Aaron und seine Söhne, mit Gürteln, und binde ihnen die hohen Kopfbedeckungen um; und das Priestertum soll eine ewige Ordnung für sie sein. Auch sollst du Aaron und seinen Söhnen die Hände füllen. (4Mo 18,7; Hebr 5,4)10Danach sollst du den Jungstier herzubringen vor die Stiftshütte. Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen ihre Hände auf den Kopf des Jungstieres stützen. (3Mo 1,4; 3Mo 3,2; 3Mo 16,21)11Und du sollst den Jungstier schächten vor dem HERRN, vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte. (3Mo 8,15; 3Mo 9,8; 3Mo 9,12)12Und du sollst von dem Blut des Jungstieres nehmen und mit deinem Finger auf die Hörner des Altars tun, alles [übrige] Blut aber an den Fuß des Altars schütten. (3Mo 4,18; 3Mo 4,25; 3Mo 4,30; 3Mo 8,15)13Und du sollst alles Fett nehmen, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, und das Fett über dem Leberlappen und die beiden Nieren mit dem Fett, das daran ist, und sollst es auf dem Altar in Rauch aufgehen lassen. (3Mo 3,3; 3Mo 4,8; 3Mo 9,10; 3Mo 16,25)14Aber Fleisch, Haut und Unrat des Jungstieres sollst du außerhalb des Lagers mit Feuer verbrennen; denn es ist ein Sündopfer. (3Mo 4,11; 3Mo 16,27; Hebr 13,11)15Danach sollst du den einen Widder nehmen, und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen ihre Hände auf den Kopf des Widders stützen. (2Mo 29,10; 2Mo 29,19; 3Mo 8,18; 3Mo 8,22)16Und du sollst den Widder schächten und von seinem Blut nehmen und an den Altar sprengen ringsumher. (2Mo 29,12)17Aber den Widder sollst du in Stücke zerlegen und seine Eingeweide und seine Schenkel waschen und sollst sie zu den Stücken und zu seinem Kopf legen (3Mo 1,8; 3Mo 8,20; 3Mo 9,13; Mt 23,26)18und auf dem Altar den ganzen Widder in Rauch aufgehen lassen; denn es ist ein Brandopfer für den HERRN; ein lieblicher Geruch, ein Feueropfer für den HERRN. (1Mo 8,21; 2Mo 29,25; 3Mo 1,9; 3Mo 1,17; Eph 5,2; Phil 4,18)19Ebenso sollst du den anderen Widder nehmen, und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen ihre Hände auf seinen Kopf stützen, (2Mo 29,15)20und du sollst den Widder schächten und von seinem Blut nehmen und es auf das rechte Ohrläppchen Aarons tun und auf das rechte Ohrläppchen seiner Söhne und auf den Daumen ihrer rechten Hand und auf die große Zehe ihres rechten Fußes; das [übrige] Blut aber sollst du ringsum auf den Altar sprengen. (3Mo 8,23; 3Mo 14,14; 3Mo 14,17; 3Mo 14,25; 3Mo 14,27)21Und nimm von dem Blut auf dem Altar und von dem Salböl und besprenge Aaron und seine Kleider und seine Söhne und ihre Kleider; und so wird er geheiligt sein samt seinen Kleidern und seine Söhne mit ihm samt ihren Kleidern. (2Mo 30,25; 2Mo 30,30; 2Kor 1,21)22Danach sollst du das Fett von dem Widder nehmen und den Fettschwanz und das Fett, das die Eingeweide bedeckt, das Fett über dem Leberlappen und die beiden Nieren mit dem Fett, das daran ist, und die rechte Schulter; denn es ist ein Widder der Einsetzung.23Und nimm einen Laib Brot und einen Ölbrotkuchen und einen Fladen aus dem Korb der ungesäuerten Brote, der vor dem HERRN steht, (2Mo 29,2)24und lege alles auf die Hände Aarons und auf die Hände seiner Söhne und webe es als ein Webopfer vor dem HERRN.[1] (3Mo 7,30)25Danach nimm es aus ihren Händen und lass es auf dem Altar über dem Brandopfer in Rauch aufgehen, als einen lieblichen Geruch vor dem HERRN; es ist ein Feueropfer für den HERRN. (2Mo 29,18)26Du sollst ferner die Brust nehmen von dem Widder der Einsetzung Aarons und sollst sie vor dem HERRN weben als ein Webopfer; und sie soll dein Anteil sein. (3Mo 8,29)27Und du sollst die Brust des Webopfers und die Schulter des Hebopfers heiligen, die gewebt und abgehoben worden sind von dem Widder der Einsetzung, von dem, was für Aaron und von dem, was für seine Söhne bestimmt ist. (3Mo 7,31; 3Mo 8,29; 3Mo 9,21; 3Mo 10,15; 4Mo 6,20; 4Mo 18,11; 4Mo 18,18; 5Mo 18,3)28Und das soll für Aaron und für seine Söhne bestimmt sein von den Kindern Israels, als eine ewige Ordnung; denn es ist ein Hebopfer, und es soll erhoben werden von den Kindern Israels, von ihren Friedensopfern, als ihr Hebopfer für den HERRN. (3Mo 7,31; 3Mo 10,15; 4Mo 18,8; 4Mo 18,11; 4Mo 18,18; 5Mo 18,3)29Und die heiligen Kleider Aarons sollen seine Söhne nach ihm bekommen, dass sie darin gesalbt und ihre Hände darin gefüllt werden. (4Mo 20,26)30Derjenige unter seinen Söhnen, der an seiner Stelle Priester wird, der in die Stiftshütte geht, um im Heiligtum zu dienen, der soll sie sieben Tage lang tragen. (1Mo 2,2; 1Mo 8,10; 2Mo 12,15; 2Mo 29,35; 3Mo 23,42; 4Mo 20,28; Jos 6,15; Hebr 7,26)31Du sollst aber den Widder der Einsetzung nehmen und sein Fleisch an einem heiligen Ort kochen. (2Mo 29,22; 2Mo 29,27; 2Mo 29,34; 3Mo 8,31; Hes 46,20)32Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen das Fleisch des Widders essen samt dem Brot im Korb, vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte. (2Mo 29,2; 2Mo 29,23; 3Mo 10,12; Mt 12,4)33Sie sollen das essen, womit die Sühnung für sie erwirkt wurde, als man ihre Hände füllte, um sie zu heiligen. Kein Fremder soll es essen, denn es ist heilig! (3Mo 10,16; 3Mo 22,10; 1Kor 11,23)34Wenn aber etwas von dem Fleisch der Einsetzung und von dem Brot bis zum Morgen übrig bleibt, so sollst du das Übrige mit Feuer verbrennen; es soll nicht gegessen werden, denn es ist heilig. (2Mo 12,10; 3Mo 7,15)35Und du sollst mit Aaron und seinen Söhnen so verfahren, wie ich es dir geboten habe. Sieben Tage sollst du ihre Hände füllen (2Mo 29,30; 2Mo 39,42; 2Mo 40,16; Joh 8,29; Joh 15,14)36und sollst täglich einen Jungstier als Sündopfer schlachten zur Sühnung; und du sollst den Altar entsündigen, indem du Sühnung für ihn erwirkst, und sollst ihn salben, damit er geheiligt wird. (3Mo 8,15; 4Mo 8,21; 4Mo 19,12; Ps 51,9; Hes 43,20; Hes 43,22; Hebr 9,22)37Sieben Tage sollst du für den Altar Sühnung erwirken und ihn heiligen, und der Altar wird hochheilig sein. Alles, was mit dem Altar in Berührung kommt, das wird heilig. (2Mo 30,29; Hes 43,26)
Das ständige Brandopfer
38Das ist es aber, was du auf dem Altar opfern sollst: Zwei einjährige Lämmer sollst du beständig [darauf opfern], Tag für Tag; (4Mo 28,3; 1Chr 16,40; 2Chr 2,4; 2Chr 13,11; Esr 3,3; Dan 9,27; Dan 12,11)39das eine Lamm sollst du am Morgen opfern, das andere Lamm sollst du zur Abendzeit opfern; (2Chr 13,11)40und zum ersten Lamm einen Zehntel Feinmehl, gemengt mit einem Viertel Hin Öl aus zerstoßenen Oliven und einem Viertel Hin Wein zum Trankopfer. (3Mo 2,4; 4Mo 15,4; 1Chr 23,29)41Das andere Lamm sollst du zur Abendzeit opfern; und mit dem Speis- und Trankopfer sollst du es halten wie am Morgen; [du sollst es opfern] als einen lieblichen Geruch, als ein Feueropfer für den HERRN. (2Mo 29,18; 1Kön 18,29; Esr 9,4; Ps 141,2; Dan 9,21; Apg 3,1)42Das soll das beständige Brandopfer sein für eure [künftigen] Geschlechter, vor dem HERRN, vor dem Eingang der Stiftshütte, wo ich mit euch zusammenkommen will, um dort zu dir zu reden. (2Mo 25,22; 2Mo 30,6; 2Mo 30,36; 4Mo 17,4; Hi 23,3)43Und ich werde dort zusammenkommen mit den Kindern Israels, und [die Stiftshütte] soll geheiligt werden durch meine Herrlichkeit. (2Mo 40,34; 2Chr 5,14; 2Chr 7,1; Hes 43,5; Apg 2,2)44Und ich will die Stiftshütte heiligen samt dem Altar; und ich will mir Aaron und seine Söhne heiligen, damit sie mir als Priester dienen. (2Mo 25,8; 2Mo 28,41)45Und ich will in der Mitte der Kinder Israels wohnen, und ich will ihr Gott sein. 1‘This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so that they may serve me as priests: take a young bull and two rams without defect.2And from the finest wheat flour make round loaves without yeast, thick loaves without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, and thin loaves without yeast and brushed with olive oil.3Put them in a basket and present them in it – along with the bull and the two rams.4Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water.5Take the garments and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skilfully woven waistband.6Put the turban on his head and attach the sacred emblem to the turban.7Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.8Bring his sons and dress them in tunics9and fasten caps on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons.[1] The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance. ‘Then you shall ordain Aaron and his sons.10‘Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.11Slaughter it in the Lord’s presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting.12Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.13Then take all the fat on the internal organs, the covering of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.14But burn the bull’s flesh and its hide and its intestines outside the camp. It is a sin offering.[2]15‘Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.16Slaughter it and take the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar.17Cut the ram into pieces and wash the internal organs and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces.18Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.19‘Take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.20Slaughter it, take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then splash blood against the sides of the altar.21And take some of the blood on the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.22‘Take from this ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat on the internal organs, the covering of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh. (This is the ram for the ordination.)23From the basket of bread made without yeast, which is before the Lord, take one round loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one thin loaf.24Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.25Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering for a pleasing aroma to the Lord, a food offering presented to the Lord.26After you take the breast of the ram for Aaron’s ordination, wave it before the Lord as a wave offering, and it will be your share.27‘Consecrate those parts of the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons: the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented.28This is always to be the regular share from the Israelites for Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the Lord from their fellowship offerings.29‘Aaron’s sacred garments will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.30The son who succeeds him as priest and comes to the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days.31‘Take the ram for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.32At the entrance to the tent of meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.33They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no-one else may eat them, because they are sacred.34And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning, burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.35‘Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.36Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.37For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.38‘This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old.39Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.40With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah[3] of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin[4] of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.41Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning – a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.42‘For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the tent of meeting, before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;43there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.44‘So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.45Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.46They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them.
