1Bau[1] aus Akazienholz einen Altar, auf dem man Räucherwerk verbrennen kann. (2Mo 25,11)2´Seine Grundfläche` soll quadratisch sein, ein halber Meter[2] mal ein halber Meter[3], und seine Höhe soll einen Meter[4] betragen. Seine Hörner ´dürfen nicht aufgesetzt werden, sondern` müssen mit dem Altar aus einem Stück gearbeitet sein.3Überziehe ihn mitsamt seinen Hörnern von allen Seiten mit Gold und bring ringsum eine goldene Zierleiste an.4Gieß ´je` zwei goldene Ringe für die Seitenwände des Altars und befestige sie unterhalb der Zierleisten.5Fertige die Tragestangen aus Akazienholz und überziehe sie mit Gold.6Stell den Altar vor dem Vorhang auf, der die Bundeslade mit den Gesetzestafeln[5] – den Ort, wo ich euch begegnen werde – verhüllt.7Aaron soll jeden Morgen, wenn er die Öllampen in Ordnung bringt, auf dem Altar wohlriechendes Räucherwerk darbringen.8Auch in der Abenddämmerung, wenn er die Öllampen wieder auf ´den Leuchter` stellt, soll er jedes Mal ´Räucherwerk` verbrennen. Auf diese Weise steigt täglich ein wohlriechender Duft zu ´mir`, dem HERRN, auf. So sollen es auch die kommenden Generationen halten.[6]9Auf dem Räucheraltar dürft ihr weder unerlaubtes Räucherwerk noch Brandopfer noch Speiseopfer darbringen. Gießt auch kein Trankopfer über ihm aus.10Einmal im Jahr soll Aaron an den Hörnern des Altars das Sühneritual vollziehen. Er soll sie mit etwas Blut vom jährlichen Versöhnungsopfer[7] ´bestreichen und den Altar dadurch reinigen. In allen Generationen soll das einmal im Jahr geschehen. Der Altar ist in besonderem Maße heilig und ´mir`, dem HERRN, geweiht.« (3Mo 16,1)
Kopfsteuer für das Heiligtum
11Der HERR sagte zu Mose:12»Wenn du die ´wehrfähigen` Israeliten zählst, um ihre Gesamtzahl zu erfassen, muss jeder, der gezählt wird, ´mir`, dem HERRN, ein Lösegeld[8] entrichten. Dann wird die Israeliten bei der Zählung kein Unglück treffen.13Jeder Gezählte[9] muss ein halbes Silberstück[10] bezahlen. Dabei gilt der Gewichtswert des Heiligtums, bei dem ein Silberstück zwölf Gramm[11] wiegt. Die Abgabe für ´mich`, den HERRN, beträgt also sechs Gramm Silber.14Alle, die erfasst werden – das heißt alle ´Männer` ab zwanzig Jahren –, müssen mir diese Abgabe leisten.15Wer reich ist, soll nicht mehr, und wer arm ist, nicht weniger als das halbe Silberstück geben. Mit dieser Abgabe bezahlt ihr ´mir`, dem HERRN, ein Lösegeld für euer Leben[12].16Sammle das Geld von den Israeliten ein und stell es für den Dienst am Zelt der Begegnung zur Verfügung. Es wird mich daran erinnern, das Leben der Israeliten zu bewahren.[13]«
Das Wasserbecken
17Der HERR sagte zu Mose:18»Fertige für die Waschungen ein bronzenes Wasserbecken mit einem bronzenen Untergestell an. Stell es zwischen dem Zelt der Begegnung und dem Brandopferaltar auf und füll es mit Wasser.19Aaron und seine Söhne sollen mit diesem Wasser ihre Hände und Füße waschen,20bevor sie das Zelt der Begegnung betreten oder zum Brandopferaltar gehen, um für ´mich`, den HERRN, ein Opfer zu verbrennen. Wenn sie sich nicht waschen, müssen sie sterben.21Nur wenn sie ihre Hände und Füße waschen, sterben sie nicht. Diese Bestimmung gilt für Aaron und seine Nachkommen durch alle Generationen.«
Das heilige Salböl
22Der HERR sagte zu Mose:23»Nimm die besten Duftstoffe: sechs Kilogramm Myrrhe, drei Kilogramm wohlriechenden Zimt und drei Kilogramm Kalmus,24außerdem sechs Kilogramm[14] Kassia – es gilt das im Heiligtum übliche Gewicht – sowie vier Liter[15] Olivenöl.25Bereite daraus in sorgfältiger, fachmännischer Arbeit ein heiliges Salböl zu.[16] Es ist dazu bestimmt, alles zu salben, was mir geweiht wird.[17]26Salbe damit das Begegnungszelt, die Lade mit den Gesetzestafeln[18],27den Tisch und sein gesamtes Zubehör, den Leuchter und sein Zubehör, den Räucheraltar,28den Brandopferaltar und sein gesamtes Zubehör sowie das Wasserbecken mit seinem Untergestell.29Dadurch weihst du mir all diese Gegenstände, und sie werden in besonderem Maße heilig. Alles, was mit ihnen in Berührung kommt, verfällt dem Heiligtum[19].30Salbe auch Aaron und seine Söhne ´mit diesem Öl` und weihe sie mir so zu Priestern.31Erkläre den Israeliten: ›Dieses Öl ist dazu bestimmt, alles zu salben, was mir, dem HERRN, geweiht ist. Das gilt für alle künftigen Generationen.[20]‹32Gewöhnliche Menschen dürfen damit nicht in Berührung kommen. Stellt kein Öl in dieser Zusammensetzung ´für euren persönlichen Gebrauch` her. ´Dieses Salböl` ist ´mir, dem HERRN`, geweiht. Betrachtet es als heilig.33Wer ein Öl in dieser Zusammensetzung herstellt oder eine gewöhnliche Person damit salbt, wird aus dem Volk ausgestoßen und muss sterben.«
Das heilige Räucherwerk
34Weiter sagte der HERR zu Mose: »Nimm wohlriechende Gewürze, und zwar zu gleichen Teilen Stakte, Räucherklaue, Galbanum, Gewürzkräuter und reinen Weihrauch.35Stell aus diesen Zutaten auf fachmännische Weise[21] Räucherwerk her. Füge dieser Mischung noch etwas Salz hinzu und achte ´bei der Zubereitung` auf Reinheit; denk daran, dass es heilig ist.36Zerreibe einen Teil des Räucherwerks zu feinem Pulver und bewahre es im Zelt der Begegnung auf, vor der Lade mit den Gesetztestafeln[22], wo ich euch begegnen will. Es soll bei euch als etwas besonders Heiliges gelten.37Niemand darf Räucherwerk in dieser Zusammensetzung für sich selbst zubereiten. Vergesst nicht, dass es ausschließlich für mich, den HERRN, bestimmt ist.[23]38Wer es herstellt, um seinen Duft selbst zu genießen, der wird aus dem Volk ausgestoßen und muss sterben.«
1Und du sollst einen Altar anfertigen, um Räucherwerk darauf zu räuchern; aus Akazienholz sollst du ihn machen. (2Mo 30,27; 2Mo 37,25; 2Mo 40,5; Hebr 9,4)2Eine Elle lang und eine Elle breit soll er sein, viereckig, und zwei Ellen hoch, und seine Hörner sollen aus einem Stück mit ihm sein. (2Mo 37,25)3Und du sollst ihn mit reinem Gold überziehen, seine Platte und seine Wände ringsum und seine Hörner, und sollst ihm ringsum einen goldenen Kranz machen; (2Mo 35,11; 2Mo 35,24)4und mache ihm zwei goldene Ringe unter dem Kranz; an seinen beiden Seiten sollst du sie anbringen, an seinen beiden Wänden, und sie sollen die Tragstangen aufnehmen, dass man ihn damit tragen kann. (2Mo 37,28)6Und du sollst ihn vor den Vorhang stellen, der vor der Lade des Zeugnisses hängt, und vor den Sühnedeckel, der auf dem Zeugnis ist, wo ich mit dir zusammenkommen will. (2Mo 25,22; 2Mo 26,31)7Und Aaron soll wohlriechendes Räucherwerk auf ihm räuchern, Morgen für Morgen; wenn er die Lampen zurichtet, soll er es räuchern. (2Mo 27,21; 2Mo 30,34; 1Sam 2,28; 1Chr 23,13; Lk 1,9; Offb 5,8; Offb 8,3)8Und auch wenn Aaron zur Abendzeit die Lampen zurichtet, soll er es räuchern. Es soll ein beständiges Räucherwerk sein vor dem HERRN bei euren [künftigen] Geschlechtern. (Ps 141,2)9Ihr sollt kein fremdes Räucherwerk auf ihm darbringen und auch kein Brandopfer, kein Speisopfer; und ihr sollt kein Trankopfer auf ihm ausgießen. (3Mo 10,1)10Aber einmal im Jahr soll Aaron auf seinen Hörnern Sühnung erwirken; mit dem Blut des Sündopfers der Versöhnung soll er einmal jährlich darauf Sühnung erwirken für eure Geschlechter; er ist dem HERRN hochheilig. (3Mo 16,17; Hebr 9,7; Hebr 9,25)
Das Lösegeld für die Israeliten
11Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:12Wenn du die Zahl der Kinder Israels ermittelst, alle, die gezählt werden, so soll jeder dem HERRN ein Lösegeld für seine Seele geben, wenn man sie zählt, damit nicht eine Plage über sie kommt, wenn sie gezählt werden. (4Mo 1,1; 4Mo 3,40; 4Mo 26,2; Ps 49,8; Mt 20,28; 1Petr 1,18)13Jeder, der durch die Zählung geht, soll einen halben Schekel geben, nach dem Schekel des Heiligtums (ein Schekel gilt 20 Gera) — einen halben Schekel als Hebopfer für den HERRN. (3Mo 27,25; 4Mo 3,47)14Jeder, der durch die Zählung geht im Alter von 20 Jahren und darüber, der soll dem HERRN das Hebopfer geben. (4Mo 18,8; 4Mo 18,19; 4Mo 18,26; Hes 20,40)15Der Reiche soll nicht mehr geben und der Arme nicht weniger als einen halben Schekel, wenn ihr dem HERRN das Hebopfer gebt, um Sühnung zu erwirken für eure Seelen. (Hi 34,19; Spr 22,2; Röm 3,22; 1Kor 4,7)16Und du sollst das Sühnegeld von den Kindern Israels nehmen und es für den Dienst der Stiftshütte geben, dass es den Kindern Israels zum Gedenken sei vor dem HERRN, um Sühnung zu erwirken für eure Seelen. (2Mo 38,25)
Das eherne Becken
17Weiter redete der HERR mit Mose und sprach:18Du sollst auch ein ehernes Becken machen mit einem ehernen Gestell, zum Waschen, und du sollst es aufstellen zwischen der Stiftshütte und dem Altar, und Wasser hineingießen. (2Mo 38,8; 2Chr 4,2)19Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen aus ihm ihre Hände und Füße waschen. (2Mo 40,31; Ps 26,6; Joh 13,8; Hebr 10,22)20Wenn sie in die Stiftshütte gehen wollen, so sollen sie sich mit Wasser waschen, damit sie nicht sterben; ebenso wenn sie zum Altar nahen, um zu dienen und ein Feueropfer dem HERRN in Rauch aufgehen zu lassen. (2Mo 40,31; 2Sam 12,20)21Und zwar sollen sie ihre Hände und ihre Füße waschen, damit sie nicht sterben. Das soll eine ewig gültige Ordnung für sie sein, für ihn und seinen Samen, für ihre [künftigen] Geschlechter. (2Mo 27,21; 2Mo 28,43)
Das heilige Salböl und das Räucherwerk
22Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:23Nimm du dir auserlesene Spezerei: 500 Schekel feinste Myrrhe und halb so viel wohlriechenden Zimt, 250 [Schekel], und wohlriechenden Kalmus, auch 250, (1Mo 37,25; Ps 45,9; Spr 7,17; Hl 4,14; Mt 2,11)24dazu 500 [Schekel] Kassia, nach dem Schekel des Heiligtums, und ein Hin Olivenöl; (Ps 45,9)25und mache daraus ein heiliges Salböl, eine Mischung von Gewürzsalbe, nach der Kunst des Salbenbereiters gemischt; ein heiliges Salböl soll es sein. (2Mo 31,11; 2Mo 37,29; Ps 89,21; Ps 133,2)26Und du sollst damit die Stiftshütte und die Lade des Zeugnisses salben, (2Mo 40,9; 3Mo 8,10; 4Mo 7,1; 4Mo 7,10; Jes 61,1; Apg 10,38)27sowie den Tisch mit allen seinen Geräten und den Leuchter mit seinen Geräten, und den Räucheraltar,28und den Brandopferaltar mit allen seinen Geräten und das Becken mit seinem Gestell.29Und du sollst sie heiligen, damit sie hochheilig seien; alles, was damit in Berührung kommt, wird heilig sein.[1] (2Mo 29,37; 2Mo 40,9; 3Mo 8,10; 4Mo 7,1)30Auch Aaron und seine Söhne sollst du salben und sie heiligen, damit sie mir als Priester dienen. (2Mo 37,29; 3Mo 2,13; 1Chr 9,29; Mk 9,49; Kol 4,6)36Und zerreibe etwas davon ganz fein und lege etwas davon vor das Zeugnis in die Stiftshütte, wo ich mit dir zusammenkommen will. Das soll euch hochheilig sein. (2Mo 30,6; 3Mo 16,12)37Und was das Räucherwerk betrifft, das du bereiten sollst, so sollt ihr in der gleichen Zusammensetzung für euch selbst keines machen, sondern es soll dir heilig sein für den HERRN. (2Mo 29,37; 2Mo 30,32; 3Mo 2,3)38Wer es nachmacht, um daran zu riechen, der soll ausgerottet werden aus seinem Volk! (2Mo 30,33)
1‘Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense.2It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high[1] – its horns of one piece with it.3Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold moulding around it.4Make two gold rings for the altar below the moulding – two on each of the opposite sides – to hold the poles used to carry it.5Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.6Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law – before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law – where I will meet with you.7‘Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps.8He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so that incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come.9Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it.10Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering[2] for the generations to come. It is most holy to the Lord.’
Atonement money
11Then the Lord said to Moses,12‘When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them.13Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel,[3] according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord.14All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the Lord.15The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives.16Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for your lives.’
Basin for washing
17Then the Lord said to Moses,18‘Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.19Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it.20Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord,21they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.’
Anointing oil
22Then the Lord said to Moses,23‘Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels[4] of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels[5] of fragrant calamus,24500 shekels of cassia – all according to the sanctuary shekel – and a hin[6] of olive oil.25Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil.26Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law,27the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense,28the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.29You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.30‘Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.31Say to the Israelites, “This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come.32Do not pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.33Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.” ’
Incense
34Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Take fragrant spices – gum resin, onycha and galbanum – and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts,35and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred.36Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.37Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy to the Lord.38Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from their people.’
