Die Verteilung des Landes

1 Da nun Josua alt war und hochbetagt, sprach der HERR zu ihm: Du bist alt geworden und hochbetagt, und vom Lande bleibt noch sehr viel einzunehmen. (Jos 23,1) 

2 Dies ist das Land, das noch übrig ist: alle Gebiete der Philister und ganz Geschur, (1Sam 27,8) 

3 vom Schihor an, der vor Ägypten fließt, bis zum Gebiet Ekrons nach Norden, das den Kanaanitern zugerechnet wird, fünf Fürsten der Philister, nämlich von Gaza, Aschdod, Aschkelon, Gat und Ekron, und dazu die Awiter 

4 im Süden; das ganze Land der Kanaaniter und Meara, das den Sidoniern gehört, bis Afek, bis an die Grenze der Amoriter; 

5 dazu das Land der Gebaliter und der ganze Libanon gegen Sonnenaufgang, von Baal-Gad am Fuße des Gebirges Hermon bis dorthin, wo es nach Hamat geht. 

6 Alle, die auf dem Gebirge wohnen, vom Libanon an bis nach Misrefot-Majim, alle Sidonier: Ich will sie vertreiben vor den Israeliten; wirf nur das Los darum, um sie auszuteilen unter Israel, wie ich dir geboten habe. 

7 So verteile nun dies Land als Erbbesitz unter die neun Stämme und den halben Stamm Manasse. 

8 Der andere halbe Stamm Manasse und mit ihm die Rubeniter und Gaditer haben ihr Erbteil empfangen, das ihnen Mose gab jenseits des Jordans im Osten, wie es ihnen Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gegeben hatte 

9 von Aroër an, das am Ufer des Arnonflusses liegt, und von der Stadt mitten im Tal und die ganze Ebene von Medeba bis Dibon 

10 und alle Städte Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der in Heschbon herrschte, bis an die Grenze der Ammoniter, 

11 dazu Gilead und das Gebiet von Geschur und Maacha und das ganze Gebirge Hermon und ganz Baschan bis Salcha, (5Mo 3,14) 

12 das ganze Reich des Og von Baschan, der in Aschtarot und Edreï herrschte und der noch übrig geblieben war von den Riesen. Mose aber hatte sie geschlagen und vertrieben. (Jos 12,4) 

13 Die Israeliten vertrieben aber die Geschuriter und Maachatiter nicht, sondern es wohnten beide, Geschur und Maacha, mitten unter Israel bis auf diesen Tag. 

14 Aber dem Stamm der Leviten gab er kein Erbteil; denn die Feueropfer des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, gehören ihnen; er selbst ist ihr Erbteil, wie er ihnen zugesagt hat. (1Mo 49,5; 4Mo 18,20) 

Die Verteilung im Ostjordanland

15 So gab Mose dem Stamm der Söhne Ruben nach ihren Geschlechtern (1Mo 49,3; 4Mo 32,1; 5Mo 3,12) 

16 als ihr Gebiet: das Land von Aroër an, das am Ufer des Arnonflusses liegt, und die Stadt mitten im Tal mit der ganzen Ebene bei Medeba; 

17 Heschbon und alle seine Städte, die in der Ebene liegen, Dibon, Bamot-Baal und Bet-Baal-Meon, 

18 Jahaz, Kedemot, Mefaat. 

19 Kirjatajim, Sibma, Zeret-Schahar auf dem Berge in der Talebene, 

20 Bet-Peor, die Abhänge am Pisga und Bet-Jeschimot 

21 und alle Städte der Ebene und das ganze Reich Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der in Heschbon herrschte, den Mose geschlagen hatte samt den Fürsten Midians: Ewi, Rekem, Zur, Hur und Reba, den Stadtfürsten Sihons, die im Lande wohnten. 

22 Dazu töteten die Israeliten Bileam, den Sohn Beors, den Wahrsager, mit dem Schwert außer den schon von ihnen Erschlagenen. (4Mo 22,5; 4Mo 31,8) 

23 Und die Grenze der Söhne Ruben war der Jordan. Das ist das Erbteil der Söhne Ruben nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte mit ihren Gehöften. 

24 Dem Stamm der Söhne Gad nach ihren Geschlechtern gab Mose (1Mo 49,19) 

25 als ihr Gebiet: Jaser und alle Städte in Gilead und das halbe Land der Ammoniter bis Aroër, das östlich von Rabba liegt, 

26 und von Heschbon bis Ramat-Mizpe und Betonim und von Mahanajim bis zum Gebiet von Lo-Dabar, 

27 dazu im Tal Bet-Haram, Bet-Nimra, Sukkot und Zafon, was übrig war von dem Reich Sihons, des Königs von Heschbon, den Jordan und sein Gebiet bis ans Ende des Sees Kinneret, jenseits des Jordans im Osten. 

28 Das ist das Erbteil der Söhne Gad nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte mit ihren Gehöften. 

29 Dem halben Stamm der Söhne Manasse nach ihren Geschlechtern gab Mose 

30 als ihr Gebiet: von Mahanajim an ganz Baschan, das ganze Reich Ogs, des Königs von Baschan, und alle Dörfer Jaïrs, die in Baschan liegen, nämlich sechzig Städte. 

31 Und das halbe Gilead, Aschtarot, Edreï, die Königsstädte Ogs von Baschan, gab er den Söhnen Machirs, des Sohnes Manasses, – nämlich der Hälfte der Söhne Machir – nach ihren Geschlechtern. 

32 Das sind die Gebiete, die Mose ausgeteilt hat in den Steppen Moabs, jenseits des Jordans östlich von Jericho. 

33 Aber dem Stamm Levi gab Mose kein Erbteil; denn der HERR, der Gott Israels, ist selbst ihr Erbteil, wie er ihnen zugesagt hat. (Jos 14,1)

1 Als ⟨nun⟩ Josua alt und hochbetagt war, da sprach der HERR zu ihm: Du bist alt geworden und bist hochbetagt, und sehr viel Land ist ⟨noch⟩ übrig, das in Besitz genommen werden muss. (1Mo 18,11; Jos 18,3; Jos 23,1; 1Kön 1,1) 

2 Dies ist das Land, das ⟨noch⟩ übrig ist: alle Bezirke der Philister und ganz Geschur; (1Sam 27,8; Zef 2,5) 

3 vom Schihor an, der vor Ägypten ⟨fließt⟩, bis zur Grenze von Ekron im Norden – es wird zum Gebiet der Kanaaniter gerechnet –, die fünf Fürsten der Philister: der Gaziter, der Aschdoditer, der Aschkeloniter, der Gatiter, der Ekroniter und die Awiter; (1Mo 15,18; 5Mo 2,23; Ri 3,3; 1Sam 5,8; 1Sam 6,4; 1Chr 13,5) 

4 im Süden das ganze Land der Kanaaniter und Meara, das den Sidoniern gehört, bis Afek, bis an die Grenze der Amoriter; 

5 und das Land der Gebaliter und der ganze Libanon gegen Sonnenaufgang, von Baal-Gad, am Fuß des Hermongebirges, bis man nach Hamat kommt; (4Mo 34,8; Jos 11,17; 1Kön 5,32; Hes 27,9) 

6 alle Bewohner des Gebirges, vom Libanon an bis Misrefot-Majim, alle Sidonier. Ich selbst werde sie vor den Söhnen Israel vertreiben. Nur verlose ⟨das Land⟩ für Israel als Erbteil, wie ich dir befohlen habe! (2Mo 23,31; Jos 1,6; Jos 11,8; Jos 14,1; Jos 23,5) 

7 Und nun verteile dieses Land als Erbteil unter die neun Stämme und den halben Stamm Manasse! (4Mo 32,33; 4Mo 34,13; 5Mo 3,8; Jos 14,2) 

Ostjordanland für Ruben, Gad und den halben Stamm Manasse

8 Mit ihm haben die Rubeniter und die Gaditer ihr Erbteil empfangen, das Mose ihnen gegeben hat jenseits des Jordan im Osten, wie Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, es ihnen gab: (Jos 12,6) 

9 von Aroër an, das am Ufer des Flusses Arnon ⟨liegt⟩, und von der Stadt, die mitten im Flusstal ⟨liegt⟩, und die ganze Ebene ⟨von⟩ Medeba bis Dibon (1Chr 19,7) 

10 und alle Städte Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der König zu Heschbon war, bis zur Grenze der Söhne Ammon, (5Mo 2,19) 

11 und Gilead und das Gebiet der Geschuriter und der Maachatiter und das ganze Hermongebirge und ganz Baschan bis nach Salcha, (1Sam 13,7; 1Chr 5,11) 

12 das ganze Reich des Og in Baschan, der König zu Aschtarot und zu Edreï war. Er war von dem Rest der Refaïter übrig geblieben; Mose aber hatte sie geschlagen und vertrieben. (Jos 12,4) 

13 Aber die Söhne Israel vertrieben die Geschuriter und die Maachatiter nicht. Und so blieben Geschur und Maacha mitten in Israel wohnen bis zum heutigen Tag. (2Sam 3,3; 2Sam 10,6) 

14 Nur dem Stamm Levi gab er kein Erbteil. Die Feueropfer des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, das ist sein Erbteil, wie er ihm gesagt hatte. (4Mo 18,20; Jos 13,33; Hes 44,28) 

15 Und Mose gab dem Stamm der Söhne Ruben ⟨seinen Anteil⟩ nach ihren Sippen. (1Mo 35,23) 

16 Es wurde ihnen das Gebiet ⟨zuteil⟩: von Aroër an, das am Ufer des Flusses Arnon ⟨liegt⟩, und von der Stadt, die mitten im Flusstal ⟨liegt⟩, und die ganze Ebene bei Medeba, (4Mo 21,26; Jos 14,3; Jos 18,7; Ri 11,26) 

17 Heschbon und all seine Städte, die in der Ebene sind: Dibon, Bamot-Baal, Bet-Baal-Meon, (4Mo 21,26; Jos 14,3; Jos 18,7; Ri 11,26; 1Chr 5,8) 

18 Jahaz, Kedemot, Mefaat, (5Mo 2,26; Jos 21,37; Jer 48,21) 

19 Kirjatajim, Sibma, Zeret-Schahar auf dem Berg der Talebene, 

20 Bet-Peor, die Abhänge des Pisga, Bet-Jeschimot (4Mo 33,49; Hes 25,9) 

21 und alle Städte der Ebene sowie das ganze Reich Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der König zu Heschbon war, den Mose schlug, ihn und die Fürsten von Midian: Ewi, Rekem, Zur, Hur und Reba, die Fürsten Sihons, die das Land bewohnten. (4Mo 25,15) 

22 Und Bileam, den Sohn des Beor, den Wahrsager, brachten die Söhne Israel mit dem Schwert um, außer den von ihnen Getöteten. (4Mo 31,8) 

23 Die Grenze der Söhne Ruben war der Jordan und das angrenzende Gebiet. Das ist das Erbteil der Söhne Ruben, nach ihren Sippen, die Städte und ihre Dörfer. (Hes 48,6) 

24 Und Mose gab dem Stamm Gad, den Söhnen Gad, ⟨ihren Anteil,⟩ nach ihren Sippen. (1Mo 35,26; Hes 48,27) 

25 Und es wurde ihnen das Gebiet ⟨zuteil⟩: Jaser und alle Städte Gileads und das halbe Land der Söhne Ammon bis nach Aroër, das Rabba gegenüber⟨liegt⟩; (2Sam 24,5; Jes 17,2) 

26 und von Heschbon bis Ramat-Mizpe und Betonim, und von Mahanajim bis an die Grenze von Debir; (Ri 10,17) 

27 und in der Talebene: Bet-Haram, Bet-Nimra, Sukkot und Zafon, der Rest des Reiches Sihons, des Königs von Heschbon, der Jordan und das angrenzende ⟨Gebiet⟩ bis an das Ende des Sees Kinneret, jenseits des Jordan nach Osten zu. (Jos 11,2) 

28 Das ist das Erbteil der Söhne Gad nach ihren Sippen, die Städte und ihre Dörfer. (1Chr 5,16) 

29 Und Mose gab dem halben Stamm Manasse ⟨seinen Anteil⟩. Und dem halben Stamm der Söhne Manasse wurde nach ihren Sippen ⟨Folgendes zuteil⟩. 

30 Ihr Gebiet war: von Mahanajim an ganz Baschan, das ganze Reich des Og, des Königs von Baschan, und alle Zeltdörfer Jaïrs, die in Baschan ⟨liegen⟩, sechzig Städte. (1Mo 32,3; 4Mo 32,41; 5Mo 3,4; Jos 21,38) 

31 Und das halbe Gilead und Aschtarot und Edreï, die Städte des Reiches des Og in Baschan, ⟨wurden⟩ den Söhnen des Machir, des Sohnes Manasses, ⟨zuteil,⟩ der Hälfte der Söhne Machir, nach ihren Sippen. (Jos 17,5; Hes 48,4) 

32 Das ist es, was Mose in den Steppen von Moab als Erbe ausgeteilt hat, jenseits des Jordan ⟨bei⟩ Jericho, nach Osten zu. 

33 Aber dem Stamm Levi gab Mose kein Erbteil. Der HERR, der Gott Israels, er ist ihr Erbteil, wie er ihnen zugesagt hat. (Jos 13,14)

Land still to be taken

1 When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, ‘You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over. 

2 ‘This is the land that remains: ‘all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites, 

3 from the River Shihor on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite though held by the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron; the territory of the Avvites 

4 on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek and the border of the Amorites; 

5 the area of Byblos; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath. 

6 ‘As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you, 

7 and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh.’ 

Division of the land east of the Jordan

8 The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the Lord, had assigned it to them. 

9 It extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and included the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon, 

10 and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, out to the border of the Ammonites. 

11 It also included Gilead, the territory of the people of Geshur and Maakah, all of Mount Hermon and all Bashan as far as Salekah – 

12 that is, the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei. (He was the last of the Rephaites.) Moses had defeated them and taken over their land. 

13 But the Israelites did not drive out the people of Geshur and Maakah, so they continue to live among the Israelites to this day. 

14 But to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance, since the food offerings presented to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them. 

15 This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Reuben, according to its clans: 

16 The territory from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and the whole plateau past Medeba 

17 to Heshbon and all its towns on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon, 

18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath, 

19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar on the hill in the valley, 

20 Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth – 

21 all the towns on the plateau and the entire realm of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled at Heshbon. Moses had defeated him and the Midianite chiefs, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba – princes allied with Sihon – who lived in that country. 

22 In addition to those slain in battle, the Israelites had put to the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practised divination. 

23 The boundary of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Reubenites, according to their clans. 

24 This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, according to its clans: 

25 The territory of Jazer, all the towns of Gilead and half the Ammonite country as far as Aroer, near Rabbah; 

26 and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir; 

27 and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Sukkoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon (the east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of Galilee). 

28 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Gadites, according to their clans. 

29 This is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the family of the descendants of Manasseh, according to its clans: 

30 The territory extending from Mahanaim and including all of Bashan, the entire realm of Og king of Bashan – all the settlements of Jair in Bashan, sixty towns, 

31 half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei (the royal cities of Og in Bashan). This was for the descendants of Makir son of Manasseh – for half of the sons of Makir, according to their clans. 

32 This is the inheritance Moses had given when he was in the plains of Moab across the Jordan east of Jericho. 

33 But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.

1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed. 

2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri, 

3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites: 

4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites: 

5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath. 

6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee. 

7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh, 

8 With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them; 

9 From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon; 

10 And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon; 

11 And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah; 

12 All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out. 

13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day. 

14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them. 

15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families. 

16 And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba; 

17 Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon, 

18 And Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 

19 And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley, 

20 And Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth, 

21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country. 

22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them. 

23 And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof . This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof. 

24 And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families. 

25 And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah; 

26 And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir; 

27 And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward. 

28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages. 

29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families. 

30 And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities: 

31 And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families. 

32 These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward. 

33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
