Jakob in Bet-El
10Jakob zog aus Beerscheba weg und ging nach Haran.11Er kam an einen bestimmten Ort und übernachtete dort, denn die Sonne war untergegangen. Er nahm einen von den Steinen dieses Ortes, legte ihn unter seinen Kopf und schlief dort ein.12Da hatte er einen Traum: Siehe, eine Treppe stand auf der Erde, ihre Spitze reichte bis zum Himmel. Und siehe: Auf ihr stiegen Engel Gottes auf und nieder.13Und siehe, der HERR stand vor ihm und sprach: Ich bin der HERR, der Gott deines Vaters Abraham und der Gott Isaaks. Das Land, auf dem du liegst, will ich dir und deinen Nachkommen geben.14Deine Nachkommen werden zahlreich sein wie der Staub auf der Erde. Du wirst dich nach Westen und Osten, nach Norden und Süden ausbreiten und durch dich und deine Nachkommen werden alle Sippen der Erde Segen erlangen. Find a wife for yourself there. Take her from among the daughters of your mother’s brother Laban.3May the Mighty God bless you. May he give you children. May he make your family larger until you become a community of nations.4May he give you and your children after you the blessing he gave to Abraham. Then you can take over the land where you now live as an outsider. It’s the land God gave to Abraham.’5Isaac sent Jacob on his way. Jacob went to Paddan Aram. He went to Laban, the son of Bethuel the Aramean. Laban was Rebekah’s brother. And Rebekah was the mother of Jacob and Esau.6Esau found out that Isaac had blessed Jacob and had sent him to Paddan Aram. Isaac wanted him to get a wife from there. Esau heard that when Isaac blessed Jacob, he commanded him, ‘Don’t get married to a woman from Canaan.’7Esau also learned that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram.8Then Esau realised how much his father Isaac disliked Canaanite women.9So he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath. Jacob has a dream at Bethel
10Jacob left Beersheba and started out for Harran.11He reached a certain place and stopped for the night. The sun had already set. He took one of the stones there and placed it under his head. Then he lay down to sleep.12In a dream he saw a stairway standing on the earth. Its top reached to heaven. The angels of God were going up and coming down on it.13The LORD stood beside the stairway. He said, ‘I am the LORD. I am the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your children after you the land you are lying on.14They will be like the dust of the earth that can’t be counted. They will spread out to the west and to the east. They will spread out to the north and to the south. All nations on earth will be blessed because of you and your children after you.15I am with you. I will watch over you everywhere you go. And I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.’16Jacob woke up from his sleep. Then he thought, ‘The LORD is surely in this place. 1Povolal pak Izák Jákoba, a požehnal jemu, a přikázal mu, řka: Nepojímej ženy ze dcer Kananejských.2Ale vstana, jdi do Pádan Syrské do domu Bathuele, otce matky své, a pojmi sobě odtud manželku ze dcer Lábana ujce svého.3A Bůh silný všemohoucí požehnejž tobě, a dejžť zrůst, a rozmnožiž tě, abys byl v zástup mnohého lidu.4A dejž tobě požehnání Abrahamovo, tobě i semeni tvému s tebou, abys dědičně obdržel zemi, v níž pohostinu jsi, kterouž dal Bůh Abrahamovi.5I odeslal Izák Jákoba, kterýžto šel do Pádan Syrské k Lábanovi synu Bathuele Syrského, bratru Rebeky matky Jákobovy a Ezau.6Vida pak Ezau, že požehnání dal Izák Jákobovi, a že ho odeslal do Pádan Syrské, aby sobě odtud vzal manželku, a že, když mu požehnání dával, přikázal mu, řka: Nepojmeš ženy ze dcer Kananejských;7A že by uposlechl Jákob otce svého a matky své a odšel do Pádan Syrské;8Vida také Ezau, že dcery Kananejské těžké byly v očích Izákovi otci jeho:9Tedy odšel Ezau k Izmaelovi, a mimo prvnější ženy své, pojal sobě za ženu Mahalat, dceru Izmaele, syna Abrahamova, sestru Nabajotovu.10Vyšed pak Jákob z Bersabé, šel do Cháran.11I trefil na jedno místo, na kterémžto zůstal přes noc, (nebo slunce již bylo zapadlo,) a nabrav kamení na místě tom, položil pod hlavu svou, a spal na témž místě.12I viděl ve snách, a aj, žebřík stál na zemi, jehožto vrch dosahal nebe; a aj, andělé Boží vstupovali a sstupovali po něm.13A aj, Hospodin stál nad ním, a řekl: Já jsem Hospodin, Bůh Abrahama otce tvého, a Bůh Izákův; zemi tu, na kteréž ty spíš, tobě dám a semeni tvému.14A bude símě tvé jako prach země; nebo rozmůžeš se k západu, i k východu, na půlnoci, i ku poledni; nad to požehnány budou v tobě všecky čeledi země, a v semeni tvém.15A aj, já jsem s tebou, a ostříhati tě budu, kamžkoli půjdeš, a přivedu tě zase do země této; nebo neopustím tebe, až i učiním, což jsem mluvil tobě.16Procítiv pak Jákob ze sna svého, řekl: V pravdě Hospodin jest na místě tomto, a já jsem nevěděl.17(Nebo zhroziv se, řekl: Jak hrozné jest místo toto! Není jiného,jediné dům Boží, a tu jest brána nebeská.)18Vstav pak Jákob ráno, vzal kámen, kterýž byl podložil pod hlavu svou, a postavil jej na znamení pamětné, a polil jej svrchu olejem.19Protož nazval jméno místa toho Bethel, ješto prvé to město sloulo Lůza.20Zavázal se také Jákob slibem, řka: Jestliže Bůh bude se mnou, a ostříhati mne bude na cestě této, kterouž já jdu; a dá-li mi chléb ku pokrmu a roucho k oděvu,21A navrátím-li se v pokoji do domu otce svého, a bude mi Hospodin za Boha:22Kámen tento, kterýž jsem postavil na památku, bude domem Božím; a ze všech věcí, kteréž mi dáš, desátky spravedlivě tobě dám.

von Biblion1Izák si tedy zavolal Jákoba, požehnal mu a přikázal mu: „Neber si manželku z kanaánských dcer.2Vstaň a jdi do Padan-aramu, do domu Betuela, otce tvé matky, a tam si vyber manželku z dcer svého strýce Lábana.3Kéž ti Všemohoucí Bůh požehná, kéž tě rozplodí a rozmnoží, aby ses stal otcem svazku národů.4Kéž ti dá požehnání Abrahamovo, tobě a s tebou tvému semeni, abys přijal za dědictví zem svého putování, kterou Bůh daroval Abrahamovi.“5Tak Izák odeslal Jákoba pryč a ten se vydal do Padan-aramu k Lábanovi, synu Aramejce Betuela, bratru Rebeky, matky Jákoba a Ezaua.6Ezau uviděl, že Izák Jákobovi požehnal, když ho posílal do Padan-aramu, aby si odtud vzal manželku, a že když mu žehnal, přikázal mu: „Neber si manželku z kanaánských dcer,“7a že Jákob poslechl svého otce a matku a odešel do Padan-aramu.8Ezau také viděl, že jeho otec nelibě snáší kanaánské dcery,9a tak šel k Izmaelovi a kromě žen, které už měl, si vzal za manželku Machalat, dceru Abrahamova syna Izmaele, sestru Nebajotovu.
Žebřík do nebe
10Jákob odešel z Beer-šeby a vydal se k Cháranu.11Dorazil na jedno místo a zůstal tam přes noc, neboť slunce už zapadlo. Vzal na tom místě jeden z kamenů, položil si ho pod hlavu a ulehl tam ke spánku.12Ve snu pak spatřil žebřík[1] sahající od země až k nebi a hle, vystupovali a sestupovali po něm Boží andělé.13Vtom nad ním stanul Hospodin a řekl: „Já jsem Hospodin, Bůh tvého otce Abrahama a Bůh Izákův. Zemi, na níž ležíš, dám tobě a tvému semeni.14Tvého semene bude jako prachu země a rozmůžeš se na západ i na východ, na sever i na jih. Nadto v tobě a ve tvém semeni dojdou požehnání všechny rodiny země.15Hle, já jsem s tebou! Budu tě chránit, kamkoli půjdeš, a znovu tě přivedu do této země. Neopustím tě, dokud nevykonám, co jsem ti řekl.“16Jákob se probudil a zvolal: „Na tomto místě je opravdu Hospodin – a já jsem to nevěděl!“17V posvátné hrůze pokračoval: „Jak hrozné je toto místo! Není to nic jiného než Boží dům a toto musí být nebeská brána!“18Časně ráno pak Jákob vstal, vzal kámen, který měl pod hlavou, vztyčil jej jako památník a polil jeho vrchol olejem.19To místo nazval Bet-el, Boží dům, ačkoli se tomu městu předtím říkalo Luz.20Jákob tehdy složil tento slib: „Bude-li Bůh se mnou, ochrání-li mne na mé cestě a dá mi chléb k jídlu a šaty k oblékání,21takže se v pokoji vrátím do svého otcovského domu, bude Hospodin mým Bohem.22Tento kámen, který jsem vztyčil jako památník, se stane Božím domem a ze všeho, co mi dáš, ti věrně oddělím desátek.“
