1“Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who feel secure on the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the first of the nations, to whom the house of Israel comes! Are you better than these kingdoms? Or is their territory greater than your territory, (Ge 10:10; 1Sa 17:4; 1Ki 8:65; 2Ki 18:34; Isa 10:9; Na 3:8)3O you who put far away the day of disaster and bring near the seat of violence? (Eze 12:27; Am 3:10; Am 9:10)4“Woe to those who lie on beds of ivory and stretch themselves out on their couches, and eat lambs from the flock and calves from the midst of the stall, (Es 1:6; Am 3:12; Jas 5:5)5who sing idle songs to the sound of the harp and like David invent for themselves instruments of music, (Am 5:23)6who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph! (Isa 5:12; Da 10:3)7Therefore they shall now be the first of those who go into exile, and the revelry of those who stretch themselves out shall pass away.” (Am 7:11; Am 7:17)8The Lord God has sworn by himself, declares the Lord, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.” (Ps 47:4; Jer 17:3; Jer 22:5; Jer 51:14; Am 8:7)9And if ten men remain in one house, they shall die. Die ihr sorglos seid zu Zion und die ihr voll Zuversicht seid auf dem Berge Samarias, ihr Vornehmen des Erstlings unter den Völkern, zu denen das Haus Israel kommt,2geht hin nach Kalne und schaut und von da nach Hamat, der großen Stadt, und zieht hinab nach Gat der Philister! Seid ihr besser als diese Königreiche? Oder ist ihr Gebiet größer als das eure, (Ge 10:10)3die ihr meint, vom bösen Tag weit ab zu sein, und trachtet immer nach Frevelregiment, (Ps 10:5)4die ihr schlaft auf elfenbeingeschmückten Lagern und euch streckt auf euren Ruhebetten? Ihr esst die Lämmer aus der Herde und die gemästeten Kälber5und spielt auf der Harfe und erdichtet euch Lieder wie David (Isa 5:12)6und trinkt Wein aus Schalen und salbt euch mit dem besten Öl, aber bekümmert euch nicht um den Schaden Josefs.7Darum sollen sie nun vorangehen unter denen, die gefangen weggeführt werden, und soll das Schlemmen der Übermütigen aufhören.8Denn Gott der HERR hat geschworen bei sich: Mich verdrießt der Stolz Jakobs, spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, und ich hasse seine Paläste. Darum will ich die Stadt übergeben mit allem, was darin ist. (Am 8:7)9Und wenn auch zehn Männer in einem Hause übrig bleiben, sollen sie doch sterben.10Und nimmt dann einen sein Verwandter, der ihn bestatten und seine Gebeine aus dem Hause tragen will, so sagt er zu dem, der drin im Hause ist: Sind ihrer noch mehr da? Und der wird antworten: Sie sind alle dahin! Und er wird sagen: Still! Denn man darf des HERRN Namen nicht nennen. (Am 8:3)11Denn siehe, der HERR hat geboten, dass man die großen Häuser in Trümmer schlagen soll und die kleinen Häuser in Stücke.12Wer kann auf Felsen mit Rossen rennen oder mit Rindern das Meer pflügen? Doch ihr wandelt das Recht in Gift und die Frucht der Gerechtigkeit in Wermut, (Am 5:7)13die ihr euch freut über Lo-Dabar und sprecht: Haben wir nicht durch unsere Kraft Karnajim genommen?14Darum siehe, ich will gegen euch, ihr vom Hause Israel, ein Volk aufstehen lassen, spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, das soll euch bedrängen von da an, wo man nach Hamat geht, bis an den Bach in der Wüste.
1Malheur à ceux qui vivent tranquilles dans Sion et en sécurité sur la montagne de Samarie, à ces grands de la première des nations auprès desquels va la communauté d'Israël!2Passez à Calné et regardez, allez de là jusqu'à Hamath la grande, puis descendez à Gath chez les Philistins: ces villes sont-elles plus prospères que vos deux royaumes, et leur territoire est-il plus étendu que le vôtre?3Vous croyez éloigner le jour du malheur, mais vous faites approcher le règne de la violence.4Ils se reposent sur des lits d'ivoire, ils sont vautrés sur leurs divans, ils mangent les agneaux du troupeau, les veaux mis à l'engrais.5Ils improvisent au son du luth, ils se croient habiles comme David sur les instruments de musique.6Ils boivent le vin dans de larges coupes, ils ont recours à la meilleure huile, mais ils ne s'attristent pas de la ruine de Joseph.7C'est pourquoi ils partiront en exil en tête des prisonniers, et les cris de joie de ces paresseux cesseront.8Le Seigneur, l'Eternel, l'a juré par lui-même, c'est une déclaration de l'Eternel, le Dieu de l'univers: «J'ai en horreur l'orgueil de Jacob, et je déteste ses palais. Je livrerai la ville et tout ce qu'elle contient.»9S'il reste dix hommes dans une maison, ils mourront.10Lorsqu'un parent prendra un mort pour le brûler et qu'il enlèvera de la maison les ossements, il dira à celui qui est au fond de la maison: «Y a-t-il encore quelqu'un avec toi?» Cet homme répondra: «Personne» et l'autre dira: «Silence! Ce n'est pas le moment de prononcer le nom de l'Eternel.»11Oui, voici que l'Eternel donne des ordres: il fera tomber en ruine les grandes maisons, et les petites se lézarderont.12Est-ce que les chevaux courent sur un rocher, est-ce qu'on y laboure avec des bœufs? Pourquoi avez-vous changé le droit en poison, et le fruit de la justice en absinthe?13Vous vous réjouissez de ce qui n'est que néant, vous dites: «N'est-ce pas par notre force que nous avons acquis de la puissance?»14C'est pourquoi je ferai surgir contre vous, communauté d'Israël, une nation qui vous opprimera depuis l'entrée de Hamath jusqu'au torrent du désert, déclare l'Eternel, le Dieu de l'univers.
