The Resurrection

1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. (Mt 28:1; Mr 16:1; Lu 23:56; Joh 20:1) 

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, (Mt 27:60; Mr 15:46) 

3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 

4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. (Joh 20:12; Ac 1:10; Ac 10:30) 

5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? (Lu 24:37) 

6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, (Mt 17:22; Mr 9:30; Lu 9:22; Lu 9:44; Lu 24:44) 

7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” (Mt 20:19; Lu 9:22; Lu 13:33; Lu 24:6) 

8 And they remembered his words, (Joh 2:22; Joh 12:1) 

9 and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. (Joh 20:18) 

10 Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, (Mt 27:56; Mr 15:40; Lu 8:3) 

11 but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. (Mr 16:11; Mr 16:16) 

12 But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened. (Joh 19:40; Joh 20:3) 

On the Road to Emmaus

13 That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, (Mr 16:12) 

14 and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. 

15 While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. 

16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. (Lu 9:45; Lu 18:34; Lu 24:31; Joh 20:14; Joh 21:4) 

17 And he said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad. 

18 Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” 

19 And he said to them, “What things?” And they said to him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, (Mt 21:11; Ac 2:22; Ac 7:22) 

20 and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. (Lu 23:13; Lu 23:35; Joh 3:1; Joh 7:26; Joh 7:48; Joh 12:42; Ac 2:23; Ac 3:17; Ac 4:5; Ac 4:8; Ac 5:30; Ac 13:27; 1Co 2:8; 1Th 2:15) 

21 But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. (Lu 1:68; Lu 24:7; 1Pe 1:18) 

22 Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, (Lu 24:1) 

23 and when they did not find his body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. (Lu 24:3; Lu 24:4; Lu 24:9) 

24 Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.” (Lu 24:12; Joh 20:3) 

25 And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, (Mr 6:48) 

29 but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them. (Lu 9:12) 

30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. (Mt 14:19) 

31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. (Lu 4:30; Lu 24:16) 

32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” (Ps 39:3; Lu 24:45) 

33 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, (Mr 16:13; Ac 1:14; Ac 17:3) 

34 saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” (1Co 15:5) 

35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread. (Lu 24:30; Ac 2:42) 

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” (Mr 16:14; Joh 20:19) 

37 But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. (Mt 14:26; Mr 6:49; Lu 21:9; Lu 24:5) 

38 And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 

39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” (Joh 20:27; 1Jo 1:1) 

40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. (Joh 20:20) 

41 And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” (Ge 45:26; Joh 21:5; Ac 12:14) 

42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 

43 and he took it and ate before them. 

44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” (Lu 24:6; Lu 24:27) 

45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, (Job 33:16; Ps 119:18; Lu 24:32; Ac 16:14; 1Jo 5:20) 

46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, (Mt 26:24; Lu 24:7; Lu 24:26; Joh 20:9) 

47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. (Ge 12:3; Ps 22:27; Isa 2:2; Isa 49:6; Ho 2:23; Mal 1:11; Mt 28:19; Lu 2:32; Ac 2:38; Ac 4:12; Ac 5:31; Ac 10:37; Ga 3:8) 

48 You are witnesses of these things. (Joh 15:27; Ac 1:8; Ac 1:22; Ac 2:32; Ac 3:15; Ac 5:32; Ac 10:39; Ac 10:41; Ac 13:31; 1Co 15:15; 1Pe 5:1)

The Ascension

50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. (Mt 21:17; Joh 11:18; Ac 1:12) 

51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. (Mr 16:19) 

52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, (Mt 28:9; Lu 24:50; Joh 16:22)

Jesu Auferstehung

1 Aber am ersten Tag der Woche sehr früh kamen sie zum Grab und trugen bei sich die wohlriechenden Öle, die sie bereitet hatten. (Mt 28:1; Mr 16:1; Joh 20:1) 

2 Sie fanden aber den Stein weggewälzt von dem Grab 

3 und gingen hinein und fanden den Leib des Herrn Jesus nicht. 

4 Und als sie darüber ratlos waren, siehe, da traten zu ihnen zwei Männer in glänzenden Kleidern. 

5 Sie aber erschraken und neigten ihr Angesicht zur Erde. Da sprachen die zu ihnen: Was sucht ihr den Lebenden bei den Toten? 

6 Er ist nicht hier, er ist auferstanden. Gedenkt daran, wie er euch gesagt hat, als er noch in Galiläa war 

7 und sprach: Der Menschensohn muss überantwortet werden in die Hände der Sünder und gekreuzigt werden und am dritten Tage auferstehen. (Lu 9:22; Lu 18:32) 

8 Und sie gedachten an seine Worte. 

9 Und sie gingen wieder weg vom Grab und verkündigten das alles den Elf und allen andern Jüngern. 

10 Es waren aber Maria Magdalena und Johanna und Maria, des Jakobus Mutter, und die andern Frauen mit ihnen; die sagten das den Aposteln. (Mr 16:9; Lu 8:2; Joh 20:18) 

11 Und es erschienen ihnen diese Worte, als wär’s Geschwätz, und sie glaubten ihnen nicht. 

12 Petrus aber stand auf und lief zum Grab und bückte sich hinein und sah nur die Leinentücher und ging davon und wunderte sich über das, was geschehen war. (Joh 20:6) 

Die Emmausjünger

13 Und siehe, zwei von ihnen gingen an demselben Tage in ein Dorf, das war von Jerusalem etwa sechzig Stadien entfernt; dessen Name ist Emmaus. (Mr 16:12) 

14 Und sie redeten miteinander von allen diesen Geschichten. 

15 Und es geschah, als sie so redeten und einander fragten, da nahte sich Jesus selbst und ging mit ihnen. 

16 Aber ihre Augen wurden gehalten, dass sie ihn nicht erkannten. 

17 Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Was sind das für Dinge, die ihr miteinander verhandelt unterwegs? Da blieben sie traurig stehen. 

18 Und der eine, mit Namen Kleopas, antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Bist du der Einzige unter den Fremden in Jerusalem, der nicht weiß, was in diesen Tagen dort geschehen ist? 

19 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was denn? Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Das mit Jesus von Nazareth, der ein Prophet war, mächtig in Tat und Wort vor Gott und allem Volk; (Mt 21:11; Lu 7:16) 

20 wie ihn unsre Hohenpriester und Oberen zur Todesstrafe überantwortet und gekreuzigt haben. 

21 Wir aber hofften, er sei es, der Israel erlösen werde. Und über das alles ist heute der dritte Tag, dass dies geschehen ist. (Ps 130:8; Lu 2:25; Ac 1:6) 

22 Auch haben uns erschreckt einige Frauen aus unserer Mitte, die sind früh bei dem Grab gewesen, 

23 haben seinen Leib nicht gefunden, kommen und sagen, sie haben eine Erscheinung von Engeln gesehen, die sagen, er lebe. 

24 Und einige von denen, die mit uns waren, gingen hin zum Grab und fanden’s so, wie die Frauen sagten; aber ihn sahen sie nicht. 

25 Und er sprach zu ihnen: O ihr Toren, zu trägen Herzens, all dem zu glauben, was die Propheten geredet haben! 

26 Musste nicht der Christus dies erleiden und in seine Herrlichkeit eingehen? 

27 Und er fing an bei Mose und allen Propheten und legte ihnen aus, was in allen Schriften von ihm gesagt war. (Ps 22:1; Isa 52:13) 

28 Und sie kamen nahe an das Dorf, wo sie hingingen. Und er stellte sich, als wollte er weitergehen. 

29 Und sie nötigten ihn und sprachen: Bleibe bei uns; denn es will Abend werden, und der Tag hat sich geneigt. Und er ging hinein, bei ihnen zu bleiben. 

30 Und es geschah, als er mit ihnen zu Tisch saß, nahm er das Brot, dankte, brach’s und gab’s ihnen. (Lu 9:16; Lu 22:19; Joh 21:12) 

31 Da wurden ihre Augen geöffnet, und sie erkannten ihn. Und er verschwand vor ihnen. 

32 Und sie sprachen untereinander: Brannte nicht unser Herz in uns, da er mit uns redete auf dem Wege und uns die Schrift öffnete? 

33 Und sie standen auf zu derselben Stunde, kehrten zurück nach Jerusalem und fanden die Elf versammelt und die bei ihnen waren; 

34 die sprachen: Der Herr ist wahrhaftig auferstanden und dem Simon erschienen. (1Co 15:4) 

35 Und sie erzählten ihnen, was auf dem Wege geschehen war und wie er von ihnen erkannt wurde, da er das Brot brach. 

Jesu Erscheinung vor den Jüngern

36 Als sie aber davon redeten, trat er selbst mitten unter sie und sprach zu ihnen: Friede sei mit euch! (Mr 16:14; Joh 20:19; Ac 1:1; 1Co 15:5) 

37 Sie erschraken aber und fürchteten sich und meinten, sie sähen einen Geist. (Mt 14:26; Mr 6:49) 

38 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was seid ihr so erschrocken, und warum kommen solche Gedanken in euer Herz? 

39 Seht meine Hände und meine Füße, ich bin’s selber. Fasst mich an und seht; denn ein Geist hat nicht Fleisch und Knochen, wie ihr seht, dass ich sie habe. 

40 Und als er das gesagt hatte, zeigte er ihnen seine Hände und Füße. 

41 Da sie es aber noch nicht glauben konnten vor Freude und sich verwunderten, sprach er zu ihnen: Habt ihr hier etwas zu essen? 

42 Und sie legten ihm ein Stück gebratenen Fisch vor. (Joh 21:5; Joh 21:10; Ac 10:41) 

43 Und er nahm’s und aß vor ihnen. 

44 Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Das sind meine Worte, die ich zu euch gesagt habe, als ich noch bei euch war: Es muss alles erfüllt werden, was von mir geschrieben steht im Gesetz des Mose und in den Propheten und Psalmen. (Lu 18:31; Joh 5:39; Joh 5:46) 

45 Da öffnete er ihnen das Verständnis, dass sie die Schrift verstanden, (Lu 9:45; Joh 12:16; Joh 20:9) 

46 und sprach zu ihnen: So steht’s geschrieben, dass der Christus leiden wird und auferstehen von den Toten am dritten Tage; (Ho 6:2) 

47 und dass gepredigt wird in seinem Namen Buße zur Vergebung der Sünden unter allen Völkern. Von Jerusalem an (Isa 42:6; Mt 28:19; Lu 2:32; Ac 2:38; Ac 5:31; Ac 17:30) 

48 seid ihr dafür Zeugen. (Ac 1:8) 

49 Und siehe, ich sende auf euch, was mein Vater verheißen hat. Ihr aber sollt in der Stadt bleiben, bis ihr angetan werdet mit Kraft aus der Höhe. (Joe 3:1; Joh 15:26; Joh 16:7; Ac 1:4; Ac 2:1; Ac 2:16) 

Jesu Himmelfahrt

50 Er führte sie aber hinaus bis nach Betanien und hob die Hände auf und segnete sie. 

51 Und es geschah, als er sie segnete, schied er von ihnen und fuhr auf gen Himmel. (Lu 9:51; Ac 1:2; Ac 1:9) 

52 Sie aber beteten ihn an und kehrten zurück nach Jerusalem mit großer Freude (Lu 2:10) 

53 und waren allezeit im Tempel und priesen Gott. (Ac 2:46)

1 Domenica mattina, di buonʼora, esse si recarono alla tomba con gli aromi 

2 e sʼaccorsero che lʼenorme pietra, che chiudeva lʼentrata, era stata spostata da una parte. 

3 Entrarono, ma il corpo del Signore Gesù noi cʼera più! 

4 Interdette, non sapevano che cosa pensare. Ed ecco che davanti ai loro occhi apparvero due uomini, che indossavano vestiti splendenti, così splendenti che ne restarono abbagliate. 

5 Le donne, impaurite, si gettarono con la faccia a terra. Allora gli uomini chiesero: «Perché cercate in una tomba chi è vivo? 

6-7 Non è più qui. È risorto! Non vi ricordate più che cosa vi disse quando eravate ancora in Galilea? Che il Messia sarebbe stato tradito, consegnato ai malvagi e crocifisso; e che sarebbe resuscitato il terzo giorno.» 

8 Allora le donne si ricordarono, e 

9 si precipitarono a Gerusalemme per raccontare lʼaccaduto agli undici discepoli ed a tutti gli altri. 

10 (Le donne che erano andate alla tomba erano Maria Maddalena, Giovanna e Maria, madre di Giacomo, e molte altre ancora). 

11 Ma la loro storia parve agli uomini il frutto di unʼallucinazione, e nessuno prestò loro fede. 

12 Comunque, Pietro corse alla tomba per dare unʼocchiata. Chinandosi per guardare, vide soltanto i panni di lino lì per terra, allora se ne tornò a casa di nuovo, chiedendosi che cosa mai fosse accaduto. 

13 Quello stesso giorno due discepoli di Gesù stavano camminando verso il villaggio di Emmaus, a dodici chilometri da Gerusalemme. 

14-15 Cammin facendo, parlavano di tutto quello che era accaduto, quando improvvisamente Gesù stesso sʼavvicinò e si unì a loro. 

16 Ma essi erano incapaci di riconoscerlo. 

17-18 «Pare che stiate discutendo seriamente di qualche cosa», disse Gesù. «Di che state parlando?» Una profonda tristezza traspariva dai loro visi. Uno di loro, Cleopa, rispose: «Tu devi essere il solo forestiero in tutta Gerusalemme a non sapere che cose tremende sono capitate la settimana scorsa!» Gesù domandò: 

19 «Quali cose?» «Ciò che è accaduto a Gesù di Nazaret», risposero. «Egli era un profeta, che faceva potenti miracoli, ed era anche un grande maestro, stimato da Dio e dagli uomini. 

20 Ma i capi sacerdoti e i nostri capi religiosi lo hanno arrestato e consegnato al governo romano, perché fosse condannato a morte; e lʼhanno crocifisso. 

21 E dire che noi speravamo che fosse lui il glorioso Messia, e che fosse venuto per salvare Israele! Non bastava tutto questo che è capitato tre giorni fa! 

22-23 Questa mattina presto, alcune donne del gruppo dei suoi discepoli sono andate alla sua tomba e sono ritornate con una notizia da capogiro: il suo corpo non cʼè più, e due angeli hanno detto loro che Gesù è vivo! 

24 Alcuni dei nostri sono corsi al sepolcro a vedere, ed è proprio vero, il corpo di Gesù non cʼè più, come le donne hanno detto! Ma neppure lui!» 

25 Allora Gesù esclamò: «Uomini corti di cervello! Vi riesce così difficile credere a tutto ciò che i profeti hanno detto nelle Scritture? 

26 Non fu predetto chiaramente dai profeti che il Messia avrebbe sofferto tutte queste cose, prima che iniziasse il tempo della sua gloria?» 

27 Poi Gesù, cominciando dalla Genesi e proseguendo attraverso le Scritture, spiegò loro il significato di tutto ciò che era stato scritto sul suo conto. 

28-29 Quando furono vicini ad Emmaus e il viaggio stava per terminare, Gesù finse di voler proseguire, ma essi lo pregarono di rimanere quella notte, perché si stava facendo tardi. Così egli andò a casa loro. 

30 Quando furono seduti a tavola, Gesù prese il pane, lo benedisse e, dopo averlo spezzato, lo porse ai due. 

31 Improvvisamente i loro occhi si aprirono ed essi lo riconobbero. Ma in quel preciso momento Gesù scomparve. 

32 Cominciarono allora a dirsi lʼun lʼaltro: «Ecco perché mentre ci spiegava le Scritture, durante il cammino, per poco il cuore non ci balzava dal petto!» 

33-34 Subito si misero di nuovo sulla via del ritorno verso Gerusalemme, dove incontrarono gli undici apostoli e gli altri discepoli di Gesù, che li salutarono con queste parole: «Il Signore è davvero risorto! È apparso a Pietro!» 

35 Allora i due discepoli di Emmaus raccontarono come Gesù fosse apparso anche a loro, durante il cammino verso Emmaus, e come lo avevano riconosciuto, mentre spezzava il pane. 

36 Stavano ancora parlando di questo fatto quando Gesù stesso apparve improvvisamente in mezzo a loro. «Pace a voi!» li salutò. 

37 Tutti rimasero terribilmente spaventati, pensando di vedere un fantasma. 

38 «Perché avete paura?» chiese Gesù. «Perché mettete in dubbio che sia proprio io? 

39 Guardate le mie mani e i miei piedi, sono proprio io! Toccatemi e rendetevi conto che non sono un fantasma! Gli spiriti non hanno corpo, io invece ce lʼho!» 

40 Mentre parlava, mostrava loro le mani e i piedi (perché vedessero i segni dei chiodi). 

41 I discepoli, però, erano ancora indecisi, pieni di gioia, ma anche di dubbio. Allora egli chiese loro: «Non avete niente da mangiare?» 

42 Gli diedero un pezzo di pesce arrosto 

43 e, sotto i loro occhi, Gesù mangiò. 

44 Poi disse: «Quando ero con voi, prima, non vi ricordate ciò che vi dicevo: che tutte le cose scritte su di me da Mosè, dai profeti e nei Salmi dovevano avverarsi?» 

45 Allora Gesù aprì loro la mente, perché finalmente capissero le Scritture. 

46 Poi disse: «Sì, così fu scritto, e così è stato: il Messia doveva soffrire, morire e risorgere dalla morte il terzo giorno, 

47 e nel suo nome sarebbe stato predicato il pentimento e la remissione dei peccati a tutti i popoli, cominciando da Gerusalemme. 

48 Voi avete visto avverarsi queste profezie. 

49 Ed ora manderò su di voi lo Spirito Santo, come promise mio Padre. Ma non cominciate ancora a predicare agli altri; rimanete in città, finché lo Spirito Santo non venga a fortificarvi con la potenza del cielo». 

50 Poi Gesù li condusse fuori sulla strada verso Betania e, alzate le mani al cielo, li benedisse. 

51 Mentre li benediceva, partì da loro e salì in cielo. 

52 Ed essi lo adorarono, poi ritornarono a Gerusalemme pieni di gioia, 

53 e rimasero continuamente nel tempio a lodare Dio.
