Gleichnis vom Hochzeitsmahl

1 Und Jesus begann^[1] und redete wieder in Gleichnissen zu ihnen und sprach: 2 Mit dem Reich^[2] der Himmel ist es wie^[3] mit einem König, der seinem Sohn ⟨die⟩ Hochzeit bereitete. 3 Und er sandte seine Knechte^[4] aus, um die Eingeladenen zur Hochzeit zu rufen; und sie wollten nicht kommen. 4 Wiederum sandte er andere Knechte aus und sprach: Sagt den Eingeladenen: Siehe, mein Mahl habe ich bereitet, meine Ochsen und mein Mastvieh sind geschlachtet, und alles ist bereit. Kommt zur Hochzeit! (Mt 21,36) 5 Sie aber kümmerten sich nicht ⟨darum⟩^[5] und gingen weg, der eine auf seinen Acker, der andere an seinen Handel. (Spr 1,24) 6 Die Übrigen aber ergriffen seine Knechte, misshandelten und töteten sie. (Mt 21,35) 7 Der König aber wurde zornig und sandte seine Truppen aus, brachte jene Mörder um und steckte ihre Stadt in Brand. (Lk 20,16) 8 Dann sagt er zu seinen Knechten: Die Hochzeit ist zwar bereit, aber die Eingeladenen waren nicht würdig. 9 So geht nun hin auf die Kreuzwege der Landstraßen, und so viele immer ihr finden werdet, ladet zur Hochzeit ein. 10 Und jene Knechte gingen aus auf die Landstraßen und brachten alle zusammen, die sie fanden, Böse wie Gute. Und der Hochzeitssaal wurde voll von Gästen. 11 Als aber der König hereinkam, die Gäste zu besehen, sah er dort einen Menschen, der nicht mit einem Hochzeitskleid bekleidet war. 12 Und er spricht zu ihm: Freund, wie bist du hier hereingekommen, da du kein Hochzeitskleid hast? Er aber verstummte. (Ps 107,42) 13 Da sprach der König zu den Dienern: Bindet ihm Füße und Hände, und werft ihn hinaus in die äußere Finsternis; da wird das Weinen und das Zähneknirschen sein. (Mt 8,12) 14 Denn viele sind Berufene, wenige aber Auserwählte. (Mt 20,16; Mk 12,13; Lk 20,20)

15 Dann gingen die Pharisäer hin und hielten Rat, wie sie ihn bei einem Ausspruch fangen könnten. (Ps 56,7; Mt 19,3; Lk 11,54; Joh 8,6)

23 An jenem Tag kamen Sadduzäer^[7] zu ihm, die da sagen, es gebe keine Auferstehung; und sie fragten ihn (Mt 16,12; Apg 23,8) 24 und sprachen: Lehrer, Mose hat gesagt: Wenn jemand stirbt und keine Kinder hat, so soll sein Bruder seine Frau heiraten und soll seinem Bruder Nachkommenschaft^[8] erwecken. (1Mo 38,8; 5Mo 25,5) 25 Es waren aber bei uns sieben Brüder. Und der erste heiratete und starb; und weil er keine Nachkommenschaft^[9] hatte, hinterließ er seine Frau seinem Bruder. 26 Ebenso auch der zweite und der dritte, bis auf den siebten. 27 Zuletzt aber von allen starb die Frau. 28 Wessen Frau von den sieben wird sie nun in der Auferstehung sein? Denn alle hatten sie. 29 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr irrt, weil ihr die Schriften nicht kennt noch die Kraft Gottes; (Ps 95,10) 30 denn in der Auferstehung heiraten sie nicht, noch werden sie verheiratet, sondern sie sind wie Engel im Himmel. 31 Was aber die Auferstehung der Toten betrifft: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, was zu euch geredet ist von Gott, der da spricht: 32 »Ich bin der Gott Abrahams und der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs«? Gott ist nicht der Gott von Toten, sondern von Lebenden. (2Mo 3,6; Apg 7,32; Hebr 11,16) 33 Und als die Volksmengen es hörten, erstaunten sie über seine Lehre. (Mt 7,28; Mk 12,28)

Die Frage nach dem größten Gebot

34 Als aber die Pharisäer hörten, dass er die Sadduzäer zum Schweigen gebracht hatte, versammelten sie sich miteinander. 35 Und es fragte einer von ihnen, ein Gesetzesgelehrter, und versuchte ihn und sprach: (Mt 19,3) 36 Lehrer, welches Gebot ⟨ist⟩ groß im Gesetz? 37 Er aber sprach zu ihm: »Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben mit deinem ganzen Herzen und mit deiner ganzen Seele und mit deinem ganzen Verstand.« (5Mo 6,5; 5Mo 10,12) 38 Dies ist das große und erste Gebot. 39 Das zweite aber ist ihm gleich: »Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst.« (3Mo 19,18; Mt 5,43) 40 An diesen zwei Geboten hängt das ganze Gesetz und die Propheten. The parable of the wedding banquet

1 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come. 4 ‘Then he sent some more servants and said, “Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.” 5 ‘But they paid no attention and went off – one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, ill-treated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 8 ‘Then he said to his servants, “The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.” 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 ‘But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, “How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?” The man was speechless. 13 ‘Then the king told the attendants, “Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 14 ‘For many are invited, but few are chosen.’

Paying the poll-tax to Caesar

15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. ‘Teacher,’ they said, ‘we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the poll-tax^[1] to Caesar or not?’ 18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, ‘You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.’ They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, ‘Whose image is this? And whose inscription?’ 21 ‘Caesar’s,’ they replied. Then he said to them, ‘So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.’ 22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

Marriage at the resurrection

23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24 ‘Teacher,’ they said, ‘Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?’ 29 Jesus replied, ‘You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead – have you not read what God said to you, 32 “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.’ (2Mo 3,6) 33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

The greatest commandment

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ 37 Jesus replied: ‘ “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (5Mo 6,5) 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (3Mo 19,18) 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’

Whose son is the Messiah?

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 ‘What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?’ ‘The son of David,’ they replied. 43 He said to them, ‘How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him “Lord”? For he says, 44 ‘ “The Lord said to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.’ ” (Ps 110,1) 45 If then David calls him “Lord”, how can he be his son?’ 46 No-one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no-one dared to ask him any more questions.

De qui est-il fils? Ils lui répondirent: De David. 43 Et Jésus leur dit: Comment donc David, animé par l'Esprit, l'appelle-t-il Seigneur, lorsqu'il dit: 44 Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Assieds-toi à ma droite, Jusqu'à ce que je fasse de tes ennemis ton marchepied? 45 Si donc David l'appelle Seigneur, comment est-il son fils? 46 Nul ne put lui répondre un mot. 1 Gesù raccontò molte altre parabole per rendere bene lʼidea del Regno dei Cieli. 2 «Per esempio», disse, «il Regno dei Cieli può essere illustrato dalla storia di un re che fece preparare un grande pranzo di nozze per il figlio. 3 Erano state invitate molte persone, e quando il banchetto fu pronto, il re mandò i suoi messaggeri ad avvertire gli ospiti che era tempo di venire. Ma tutti rifiutarono. 4 Allora mandò altri servi a dir loro: “Affrettatevi, perché tutto è pronto e lʼarrosto è già nel forno!” 5 Ma quelli che aveva invitato si limitarono a ridere ed ognuno andò per i fatti propri: chi nei campi, chi al proprio negozio. 6 Altri, addirittura, malmenarono i messaggeri del re, li oltraggiarono e ne uccisero perfino alcuni. 7 Allora il re, adirato, mandò il suo esercito ad uccidere quegli assassini e a bruciare la loro città. 8 Poi disse ai suoi servi: “Il banchetto è pronto, ma gli ospiti che ho invitato non erano degni di parteciparvi. 9 Uscite allora, e mettetevi agli angoli delle strade ad invitare tutti quelli che vedrete!” 10 I servi ubbidirono e condussero tutti quelli che trovarono: buoni e cattivi. E la sala del banchetto fu piena. 11 Ma, quando il re entrò per vedere gli invitati, notò un uomo che non indossava lʼabito da cerimonia. 12 “Amico”, gli chiese, “come mai sei qui senza lʼabito da cerimonia?” Lʼuomo non rispose. 13 Allora il re comandò ai suoi servi “Legatelo, mani e piedi, e gettatelo fuori nelle tenebre, dove cʼè pianto e stridor di denti”. 14 Perché molti sono chiamati, ma pochi ammessi». 15 Allora i farisei si riunirono per trovare il modo di intrappolare Gesù, facendogli dire qualcosa di compromettente, tanto da poterlo arrestare. 16 Decisero di mandare alcuni dei loro uomini insieme con gli Erodiani a porgli questa domanda: «Signore, sappiamo che tu sei molto onesto, insegni la volontà di Dio e non ti preoccupi di ciò che pensa la gente, perché non guardi in faccia nessuno. 17 Dicci ora, è giusto o no pagare le tasse al governo romano?» 18 Ma Gesù capì a che cosa miravano. «Ipocriti!» esclamò, «chi volete ingannare con le vostre domande? 19 Fatemi vedere una moneta». Gli diedero un denaro romano. E Gesù domandò: 20 «Di chi è questa effigie? E di chi è il nome sotto lʼeffigie?» 21 «Di Cesare», risposero. «Bene, allora», disse Gesù, «datelo a Cesare, se è di Cesare, ma date a Dio tutto ciò che è di Dio!» 22 A questa risposta rimasero sorpresi e confusi, e se ne andarono via. 23 Quello stesso giorno, alcuni dei Sadducei (che dicevano che non cʼè risurrezione dopo la morte), vennero a porgli unʼaltra domanda: 24 «Signore, Mosè disse che se un uomo muore senza figli, suo fratello deve sposarne la vedova, e il primo figlio che verrà erediterà il nome e la proprietà del morto. 25 Ebbene, vʼera fra di noi una famiglia di sette fratelli. Il primo si sposò, poi morì senza figli, così la vedova divenne moglie del secondo fratello. 26 Però anche questi morì senza figli, quindi la moglie passò al fratello successivo, e così via, finché non fu moglie di ognuno di loro. 27 Alla fine anchʼella morì. 28 Ti chiediamo allora: alla risurrezione, di chi sarà moglie quella donna, poiché è stata moglie di tutti e sette?!» 29 Gesù rispose: «Voi sbagliate, perché non conoscete le Scritture, né la potenza di Dio. 30 Perché alla risurrezione non cʼè matrimonio; sia gli uomini che le donne sono tutti come gli angeli del cielo. 31 E in quanto ad esserci o meno la risurrezione dalla morte, non avete mai letto le Scritture? Non vi rendete conto che Dio parlava per voi, quando disse: 32 “Io sono il Dio di Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe”? Perché Dio non è il Dio dei morti, ma dei vivi!» 33 La folla rimase profondamente colpita dalle sue risposte, 34-35 ma non i Farisei. Quando videro che con quelle parole aveva chiuso la bocca ai Sadducei, escogitarono una nuova domanda da fargli. Uno di loro, avvocato, gli chiese: 36 «Signore, qual è il comandamento più importante fra tutte le leggi di Mosè?» 37 Gesù rispose: «“Ama il Signore, il Dio tuo, con tutto il tuo cuore, la tua anima e la tua mente”. 38-39 Questo è il comandamento più importante e più grande. Il secondo di grande importanza è simile a questo: “Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso”. 40 Tutti gli altri comandamenti e tutti gli ordini dei profeti si racchiudono in questi due comandamenti e si compiono se voi li osservate. Obbedite soltanto a questi due, e scoprirete che state rispettando anche tutti gli altri». 41 Una volta che era attorniato dai Farisei, Gesù fece loro una domanda: 42 «Che cosa ne pensate del Messia? Di chi è discendente?» «Di Davide», risposero quelli. 43 «Allora, come si spiega che Davide, parlando per ispirazione dello Spirito Santo, lo chiama “Signore”?», chiese Gesù. «Infatti Davide ha scritto: 44 “Dio disse al mio Signore: siedi alla mia destra, finché non ti metta sotto i piedi i tuoi nemici”. 45 Dunque, se Davide lo chiamò “Signore”, come può essere suo discendente?» 46 I Farisei non riuscirono a rispondere. E da quel giorno nessuno osò più fare domande a Gesù.
