Offenbarung 17

(Offb 18,10)

Offenbarung 17

English Standard Version

von Crossway
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, (Jes 1,21; Jer 2,20; Jer 51,13; Nah 3,4; Offb 15,7; Offb 17,15; Offb 19,2; Offb 21,9)2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” (Jes 23,17; Jer 51,7; Offb 3,10; Offb 14,8; Offb 18,3; Offb 18,9)3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. (Offb 12,3; Offb 12,6; Offb 12,14; Offb 13,1; Offb 17,7; Offb 17,9; Offb 17,12; Offb 21,10)4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. (Jer 51,7; Dan 11,38; Offb 18,6; Offb 18,16)5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” (2Thess 2,7; Offb 14,8; Offb 17,7)6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.[1] When I saw her, I marveled greatly. (Offb 2,13; Offb 13,15; Offb 16,6)7 But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. (Offb 17,5)8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit[2] and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. (Offb 1,4; Offb 3,5; Offb 3,10; Offb 9,1; Offb 11,7; Offb 13,3; Offb 13,10; Offb 17,11)9 This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; (Offb 13,18)10 they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while.11 As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. (Offb 11,17; Offb 17,8)12 And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. (Dan 7,24; Sach 1,18; Offb 13,1; Offb 17,16; Offb 18,10; Offb 18,17; Offb 18,19)13 These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast.14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.” (5Mo 10,17; Ps 136,3; Dan 2,47; Mt 28,18; Lk 18,7; Apg 10,36; Röm 1,6; 1Tim 6,15; Offb 1,5; Offb 2,10; Offb 3,21; Offb 16,14; Offb 19,16)15 And the angel[3] said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. (Jes 8,7; Offb 17,1)16 And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, (3Mo 21,9; Jer 50,41; Hes 16,37; Hes 16,39; Offb 17,12; Offb 18,8; Offb 18,17; Offb 18,19; Offb 19,18)17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. (2Kor 8,16; 2Thess 2,11)18 And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.” (Offb 16,19)

Offenbarung 17

King James Version

1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Offenbarung 17

Nuova Riveduta 2006
