1 Když bylo ráno, uradili se všichni velekněží a starší lidu proti Ježíšovi, že ho připraví o život. 2 Spoutali ho, odvedli a vydali vladaři Pilátovi. 3 Když Jidáš, který ho zradil, viděl, že Ježíše odsoudili, pocítil výčitky, vrátil třicet stříbrných velekněžím a starším 4 a řekl: „Zhřešil jsem, zradil jsem nevinnou krev!“ Ale oni odpověděli: „Co je nám po tom? To je tvoje věc!“ 5 A on odhodil ty peníze v chrámě a utekl; šel a oběsil se. 6 Velekněží sebrali peníze a řekli: „Není dovoleno dát je do chrámové pokladny, je to odměna za krev.“ 7 Uradili se tedy a koupili za ně pole hrnčířovo k pohřbívání cizinců. 8 Proto se to pole jmenuje ‚Pole krve‘ až dodnes. 9 Tak se splnilo, co je řečeno ústy proroka Jeremiáše: ‚Vzali třicet stříbrných, cenu člověka, na kterou ho ocenili synové Izraele; 10 a dali ji za pole hrnčířovo, jak jim přikázal Hospodin.‘

11 A Ježíš byl postaven před vladaře. Vladař mu položil otázku: „Ty jsi král Židů?“ Ježíš odpověděl: „Ty sám to říkáš.“ 12 Na žaloby velekněží a starších nic neodpovídal. 13 Tu mu řekl Pilát: „Neslyšíš, co všechno proti tobě svědčí?“ 14 On mu však neodpověděl ani na jedinou věc, takže se vladař velice divil. 15 O svátcích měl vladař ve zvyku propouštět zástupu jednoho vězně, kterého si přáli. 16 Tehdy tam měli pověstného vězně, jménem Barabáš. 17 Když se zástupy shromáždily, řekl jim tedy Pilát: „Koho vám mám propustit, Barabáše, nebo Ježíše, zvaného Mesiáš?“ 18 Věděl totiž, že mu ho vydali ze zášti. 19 Když seděl na soudné stolici, poslala k němu jeho žena se vzkazem: „Nezačínej si nic s tím spravedlivým! Dnes mě kvůli němu pronásledovaly zlé sny.“ 20 Velekněží a starší však přiměli zástup, aby si vyžádali Barabáše, a Ježíše zahubili. 21 Vladař jim řekl: „Koho vám z těch dvou mám propustit?“ Oni volali: „Barabáše!“ 22 Pilát jim řekl: „Co tedy mám učinit s Ježíšem, zvaným Mesiáš?“ Všichni volali: „Ukřižovat!“ 23 Namítl jim: „Čeho se vlastně dopustil?“ Ale oni ještě víc křičeli: „Ukřižovat!“ 24 Když Pilát viděl, že nic nepořídí, ale že pozdvižení je čím dál větší, omyl si ruce před očima zástupu a pravil: „Já nejsem vinen krví toho člověka; je to vaše věc.“ 25 A všechen lid mu odpověděl: „Krev jeho na nás a na naše děti!“ 26 Tu jim propustil Barabáše, Ježíše dal zbičovat a vydal ho, aby byl ukřižován.

— Výsměch vojáků

27 Vladařovi vojáci dovedli Ježíše do místodržitelství a svolali na něj celou setninu. 28 Svlékli ho a oblékli mu nachový plášť, 29 upletli korunu z trní a posadili mu ji na hlavu, do pravé ruky mu dali hůl, klekali před ním a posmívali se mu: „Buď zdráv, židovský králi!“ 30 Plivali na něj, brali tu hůl a bili ho po hlavě. 31 Když se mu dost naposmívali, svlékli mu plášť a oblékli ho zase do jeho šatů. A odvedli ho k ukřižování.

— Ukřižování

32 Cestou potkali jednoho člověka z Kyrény, jménem Šimona; toho přinutili, aby nesl jeho kříž. 33 Když přišli na místo zvané Golgota, to znamená ‚Lebka‘, 34 dali mu napít vína smíchaného se žlučí; ale když je okusil, nechtěl pít. 35 Ukřižovali ho a losem si rozdělili jeho šaty; 36 pak se tam posadili a střežili ho. 37 Nad hlavu mu dali nápis o jeho provinění: „To je Ježíš, král Židů.“ 38 S ním byli ukřižováni dva povstalci, jeden po pravici a druhý po levici. 39 Kolemjdoucí ho uráželi; potřásali hlavou 40 a říkali: „Když chceš zbořit chrám a ve třech dnech jej postavit, zachraň sám sebe; jsi-li Syn Boží, sestup s kříže!“ 41 Podobně se mu posmívali i velekněží spolu se zákoníky a staršími. Říkali: 42 „Jiné zachránil, sám sebe zachránit nemůže. Je král izraelský – ať nyní sestoupí z kříže a uvěříme v něho! 43 Spolehl na Boha, ať ho vysvobodí, stojí-li o něj. Vždyť řekl: ‚Jsem Boží Syn!‘“ 44 Stejně ho tupili i povstalci spolu s ním ukřižovaní.

— Ježíšova smrt

45 V poledne nastala tma po celé zemi až do tří hodin. 46 Kolem třetí hodiny zvolal Ježíš mocným hlasem: „Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?“,to jest: ‚Bože můj, Bože můj, proč jsi mě opustil?‘ 47 Když to uslyšeli, říkali někteří z těch, kdo tu stáli: „On volá Eliáše.“ 48 Jeden z nich hned odběhl, vzal houbu, naplnil ji octem, nabodl na tyč a dával mu pít. 49 Ostatní však říkali: „Nech ho, ať uvidíme, jestli přijde Eliáš a zachrání ho!“ 50 Ale Ježíš znovu vykřikl mocným hlasem a skonal. 51 A hle, chrámová opona se roztrhla vpůli odshora až dolů, země se zatřásla, skály pukaly, 52 hroby se otevřely a mnohá těla zesnulých svatých byla vzkříšena; 53 vyšli z hrobů a po jeho vzkříšení vstoupili do svatého města a mnohým se zjevili. 54 Setník a ti, kdo s ním střežili Ježíše, když viděli zemětřesení a všechno, co se dálo, velmi se zděsili a řekli: „On byl opravdu Boží Syn!“ 55 Zpovzdálí přihlíželo mnoho žen, které provázely Ježíše z Galileje, aby se o něj staraly; 56 mezi nimi Marie z Magdaly, Marie, matka Jakubova i Josefova, a matka synů Zebedeových.

— Pohřeb Ježíšův

57 Když nastal večer, přišel zámožný člověk z Arimatie, jménem Josef, který také patřil k Ježíšovým učedníkům. 58 Ten přišel k Pilátovi a požádal o Ježíšovo tělo. Pilát přikázal, aby mu je dali. 59 Josef tělo přijal, zavinul je do čistého plátna 60 a položil je do svého nového hrobu, který měl vytesán ve skále; ke vchodu do hrobu přivalil veliký kámen a odešel. 61 Byla tam Marie z Magdaly a jiná Marie, které seděly naproti hrobu. 62 Nazítří, v den po pátku, shromáždili se velekněží a farizeové u Piláta 63 a řekli: „Pane, vzpomněli jsme si, že ten podvodník řekl ještě za svého života: ‚Po třech dnech budu vzkříšen.‘ 64 Dej proto rozkaz, ať je po tři dny hlídán jeho hrob, aby nepřišli jeho učedníci, neukradli ho a neřekli lidu, že byl vzkříšen z mrtvých; to by pak byl poslední podvod horší než první.“ 65 Pilát jim odpověděl: „Zde máte stráž, dejte hrob hlídat, jak uznáte za dobré.“ 66 Oni šli, zapečetili kámen a postavili k hrobu stráž.

Die Übergabe an Pilatus

1 Als es Morgen wurde, fassten die Hohepriester und die Ältesten des Volkes gemeinsam den Beschluss, Jesus hinrichten zu lassen. (Mk 15,1; L 23,1; J 18,28) 2 Sie ließen ihn fesseln und abführen und lieferten ihn dem Statthalter Pilatus aus.

Das Ende des Judas

3 Als nun Judas, der ihn ausgeliefert hatte, sah, dass Jesus verurteilt war, reute ihn seine Tat. Er brachte den Hohepriestern und den Ältesten die dreißig Silberstücke zurück (Sk 1,16) 4 und sagte: Ich habe gesündigt, ich habe unschuldiges Blut ausgeliefert. Sie antworteten: Was geht das uns an? Das ist deine Sache. 5 Da warf er die Silberstücke in den Tempel; dann ging er weg und erhängte sich. 6 Die Hohepriester nahmen die Silberstücke und sagten: Man darf das Geld nicht in den Tempelschatz tun; denn es klebt Blut daran. (Dt 23,19) 7 Und sie beschlossen, von dem Geld den Töpferacker zu kaufen als Begräbnisplatz für die Fremden. 8 Deshalb heißt dieser Acker bis heute Blutacker. 9 So erfüllte sich, was durch den Propheten Jeremia gesagt worden ist: Sie nahmen die dreißig Silberstücke - das ist der Preis, den er den Israeliten wert war -^[1] (Ex 9,12; Jr 32,8; Za 11,12) 10 und kauften für das Geld den Töpferacker, wie mir der Herr befohlen hatte.

Das Verhör vor Pilatus

11 Als Jesus vor dem Statthalter stand, fragte ihn dieser: Bist du der König der Juden? Jesus antwortete: Du sagst es.^[2] (Mt 2,2; Mt 27,29; Mk 15,2; Mk 15,26; L 23,2; L 23,37; J 18,29; J 19,3)

12 Als aber die Hohepriester und die Ältesten ihn anklagten, gab er keine Antwort. 13 Da sagte Pilatus zu ihm: Hörst du nicht, was sie dir alles vorwerfen? 14 Er aber antwortete ihm auf keine einzige Frage, sodass der Statthalter sehr verwundert war. (J 19,9) 15 Jeweils zum Fest pflegte der Statthalter einen Gefangenen freizulassen, den das Volk verlangte. 16 Damals war gerade ein berüchtigter Mann namens Jesus Barabbas im Gefängnis. 17 Pilatus fragte nun die Menge, die zusammengekommen war: Was wollt ihr? Wen soll ich freilassen, Jesus Barabbas oder Jesus, den man den Christus nennt? 18 Er wusste nämlich, dass man Jesus nur aus Neid an ihn ausgeliefert hatte. 19 Während Pilatus auf dem Richterstuhl saß, sandte seine Frau zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Habe du nichts zu schaffen mit jenem Gerechten! Ich habe heute seinetwegen im Traum viel gelitten. 20 Inzwischen überredeten die Hohepriester und die Ältesten die Menge, die Freilassung des Barabbas zu fordern, Jesus aber hinrichten zu lassen. 21 Der Statthalter fragte sie: Wen von beiden soll ich freilassen? Sie riefen: Barabbas! (Sk 3,13) 22 Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: Was soll ich dann mit Jesus tun, den man den Christus nennt? Da antworteten sie alle: Ans Kreuz mit ihm! 23 Er erwiderte: Was für ein Verbrechen hat er denn begangen? Sie aber schrien noch lauter: Ans Kreuz mit ihm! (J 19,14) 24 Als Pilatus sah, dass er nichts erreichte, sondern dass der Tumult immer größer wurde, ließ er Wasser bringen, wusch sich vor allen Leuten die Hände und sagte: Ich bin unschuldig am Blut dieses Menschen. 26 Darauf ließ er Barabbas frei, Jesus aber ließ er geißeln und lieferte ihn aus zur Kreuzigung.

Die Verspottung Jesu durch die römischen Soldaten

27 Da nahmen die Soldaten des Statthalters Jesus, führten ihn in das Prätorium und versammelten die ganze Kohorte um ihn. (Mt 27,1; J 19,2) 28 Sie zogen ihn aus und legten ihm einen purpurroten Mantel um. (L 23,11) 29 Dann flochten sie einen Kranz aus Dornen; den setzten sie ihm auf das Haupt und gaben ihm einen Stock in die rechte Hand. Sie fielen vor ihm auf die Knie und verhöhnten ihn, indem sie riefen: Sei gegrüßt, König der Juden! 30 Und sie spuckten ihn an, nahmen ihm den Stock wieder weg und schlugen damit auf seinen Kopf.

Kreuzweg und Kreuzigung

31 Nachdem sie so ihren Spott mit ihm getrieben hatten, nahmen sie ihm den Mantel ab und zogen ihm seine eigenen Kleider wieder an. Dann führten sie Jesus hinaus, um ihn zu kreuzigen. (Mt 28,1; L 23,26; J 19,16) 32 Auf dem Weg trafen sie einen Mann aus Kyrene namens Simon; ihn zwangen sie, sein Kreuz zu tragen. 33 So kamen sie an den Ort, der Golgota genannt wird, das heißt Schädelhöhe. 34 Und sie gaben ihm Wein zu trinken, der mit Galle vermischt war; als er aber davon gekostet hatte, wollte er ihn nicht trinken. Er ist doch der König von Israel! Er soll jetzt vom Kreuz herabsteigen, dann werden wir an ihn glauben. 43 Er hat auf Gott vertraut, der soll ihn jetzt retten, wenn er an ihm Gefallen hat; er hat doch gesagt: Ich bin Gottes Sohn. (Ž 22,9) 44 Ebenso beschimpften ihn die beiden Räuber, die mit ihm zusammen gekreuzigt wurden.

Der Tod Jesu

45 Von der sechsten Stunde an war Finsternis über dem ganzen Land bis zur neunten Stunde. (Mk 15,33; L 23,44; J 19,28) 46 Um die neunte Stunde schrie Jesus mit lauter Stimme: Eli, Eli, lema sabachtani?, das heißt: Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen? (Ž 22,2) 47 Einige von denen, die dabeistanden und es hörten, sagten: Er ruft nach Elija. 48 Sogleich lief einer von ihnen hin, tauchte einen Schwamm in Essig, steckte ihn auf ein Rohr und gab Jesus zu trinken. (Ž 69,22) 49 Die anderen aber sagten: Lass, wir wollen sehen, ob Elija kommt und ihm hilft. 50 Jesus aber schrie noch einmal mit lauter Stimme. Dann hauchte er den Geist aus. 51 Und siehe, der Vorhang riss im Tempel von oben bis unten entzwei. Die Erde bebte und die Felsen spalteten sich. 52 Die Gräber öffneten sich und die Leiber vieler Heiligen, die entschlafen waren, wurden auferweckt. (Ez 37,12) 53 Nach der Auferstehung Jesu verließen sie ihre Gräber, kamen in die Heilige Stadt und erschienen vielen. 54 Als der Hauptmann und die Männer, die mit ihm zusammen Jesus bewachten, das Erdbeben bemerkten und sahen, was geschah, erschraken sie sehr und sagten: Wahrhaftig, Gottes Sohn war dieser! (Mt 14,33; Mt 16,16) 55 Auch viele Frauen waren dort und sahen von Weitem zu; sie waren Jesus von Galiläa aus nachgefolgt und hatten ihm gedient. (L 8,1) 56 Zu ihnen gehörten Maria aus Magdala, Maria, die Mutter des Jakobus und des Josef, und die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus.

Das Begräbnis Jesu

57 Gegen Abend kam ein reicher Mann aus Arimathäa namens Josef; auch er war ein Jünger Jesu. (Mk 15,42; L 23,50; J 19,38) 58 Er ging zu Pilatus und bat um den Leichnam Jesu. Da befahl Pilatus, ihm den Leichnam zu überlassen. 59 Josef nahm den Leichnam und hüllte ihn in ein reines Leinentuch. 60 Dann legte er ihn in ein neues Grab, das er für sich selbst in einen Felsen hatte hauen lassen. Er wälzte einen großen Stein vor den Eingang des Grabes und ging weg. 61 Auch Maria aus Magdala und die andere Maria waren dort; sie saßen dem Grab gegenüber.

Die Bewachung des Grabes

62 Am nächsten Tag gingen die Hohepriester und die Pharisäer gemeinsam zu Pilatus; es war der Tag nach dem Rüsttag. (J 19,42) 63 Sie sagten: Herr, es fiel uns ein, dass dieser Betrüger, als er noch lebte, behauptet hat: Ich werde nach drei Tagen auferstehen. (Mt 12,40; Mt 20,19) 64 Gib also den Befehl, dass das Grab bis zum dritten Tag bewacht wird! Sonst könnten seine Jünger kommen, ihn stehlen und dem Volk sagen: Er ist von den Toten auferstanden. Und dieser letzte Betrug wäre noch schlimmer als alles zuvor. (Mt 28,13) 65 Pilatus antwortete ihnen: Ihr sollt eine Wache haben. Geht und sichert das Grab, so gut ihr könnt! 66 Darauf gingen sie, um das Grab zu sichern. Sie versiegelten den Eingang und ließen die Wache dort.

Jesus Delivered to Pilate

Judas Hangs Himself

3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus^[1] was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, (Mt 21,29; Mt 26,14; Mt 26,15) 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” (Mt 27,24) 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself. 12 But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he gave no answer. (Mt 26,63) 13 Then Pilate said to him, “Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?” (J 19,10) 14 But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

The Crowd Chooses Barabbas

Jesus Is Mocked

The Crucifixion

34 they offered him wine to drink, mixed with gall, but when he tasted it, he would not drink it. The Death of Jesus
