1 Lide můj, naslouchej učení mému, k slovům úst mých nakloň ucho, 2 otevřu svá ústa ku přísloví, předložím hádanky dávnověké. 3 Co jsme slýchali a o čem víme, to, co nám otcové vyprávěli, 4 nebudeme tajit jejich synům. Budeme vyprávět budoucímu pokolení o Hospodinových chvályhodných činech, o mocných skutcích a divech, jež konal. 5 Stanovil svědectví v Jákobovi, vydal zákon v Izraeli a přikázal našim otcům, aby s tím seznamovali své syny, 6 aby o tom vědělo budoucí pokolení, synové, kteří se zrodí. Ti to budou dále vyprávět svým synům, 7 aby složili důvěru v Boha a na Boží skutky nezapomínali, aby zachovávali vždy jeho přikázání, 8 a nebyli jako jejich otcové, to umíněné, vzdorné pokolení, pokolení nestálého srdce, jehož duch nezůstal věrný Bohu. 9 Lukem vyzbrojení Efrajimci otočili se v den bitvy. 10 Nedbali na smlouvu Boží, podle jeho zákona žít odepřeli, 11 zapomněli na jeho skutky, na divy, jež jim dal shlédnout. 12 On před jejich otci činil divy v zemi egyptské na Sóanském poli. 13 Moře rozpoltil a převedl je, jako hráz postavil vody. 14 Ve dne oblakem je vodil, po celou noc září ohně. 15 Rozpoltil na poušti skály, dal jim pít hojně jak z propastných tůní, 16 bystřiny vyvedl ze skalního štítu, nechal plynout vodstva jako řeky. 17 Hřešili však proti němu opět. Vzdorovali v tom vyprahlém kraji Nejvyššímu, 18 srdcem pokoušeli Boha, chtěli stravu podle vlastní vůle. 19 A reptali proti Bohu: „Může Bůh prostřít stůl v poušti? 20 Do skály sic udeřil a potoky vod tekly proudem. Může však dát také chleba nebo opatřit pro svůj lid maso?“ 21 Hospodin se rozlítil, když to vše slyšel. Oheň prudce vzplanul proti Jákobovi, hněv vyšlehl proti Izraeli, 22 neboť nevěřili Bohu, nedoufali v jeho spásu. 23 Přesto vydal příkaz mračnům shůry, zotevíral vrata nebes 24 a jako déšť spouštěl na ně manu, aby jedli, nebeské obilí jim dával. 25 Člověk jísti směl chléb mocných, stravu sesílal jim do sytosti. 26 Dal na nebi vanout východnímu větru, jižní vítr přivedl svou mocí 27 a déšť masa na ně spustil, tolik jako prachu, pernatého ptactva jak mořského písku, 28 nechával je padat rovnou do tábora okolo příbytků jejich. 29 Najedli se víc než do sytosti, dopřál jim to, čeho byli chtiví. 30 Nepřešla je chtivost. Měli ještě pokrm v ústech, 31 když proti nim vyšlehl hněv Boží. Zahubil jejich velmože, izraelské junáky v prach srazil. 32 Přes to vše hřešili dále, nevěřili jeho divům. 33 Tu učinil konec jejich dnům, že přešly jako vánek, jejich léta přeťal náhlým děsem. 34 Kdykoli je hubil, dotazovali se po jeho vůli, za úsvitu hledávali opět Boha, 35 připomínali si, že Bůh býval jejich skála, že Bůh nejvyšší byl jejich vykupitel. 36 Ale klamali ho svými ústy, jazykem mu lhali, 37 v svém srdci nestáli při něm, nezůstali věrni jeho smlouvě. 38 Ale on se slitovával, zprošťoval je nepravostí, nevydal je zkáze, často odvrátil svůj hněv a nedal zcela procitnout svému rozhořčení, 39 pamatoval, že jsou jenom tělo, vítr, který zavane a už se nevrací. 40 Kolikrát mu v poušti vzdorovali, jakou trýzeň působili mu v tom pustém kraji! 41 Zas a zase pokoušeli Boha, činili výčitky Svatému Izraele. 42 Nepřipomínali jeho sílu, den, kdy je vykoupil z moci protivníka, 43 když činil svá znamení v Egyptě a své zázraky na Sóanském poli. 44 Ramena řek i bystřiny proměnil v krev, takže se nemohli napít. 45 Seslal na ně mouchy, aby je sžíraly, žáby, které jim přinesly zkázu. 46 Co se urodilo, vydal hmyzu, kobylkám plod jejich práce. 47 Jejich révu zničil krupobitím a smokvoně mrazem. 48 Jejich dobytek vydal v plen krupobití a ohnivým střelám jejich stáda. 49 Tak je stíhal svým planoucím hněvem, hněvem hrozným, prchlivostí, souženími, řadou poslů zkázy. 50 Dával průchod svému hněvu, jejich duše neušetřil smrti, vydal moru v plen vše živé. 51 Všechno prvorozené v Egyptě pobil, prvotiny plodivé síly v Chámových stanech. 52 Ale svůj lid vedl jako ovce, jako stádo je převedl pouští, 53 vodil je bezpečně, strach mít nemuseli, jejich nepřátele pohltilo moře. 54 Dovedl je až k území své svatyně, k této hoře, kterou pravicí svou získal. 55 Vypudil před nimi pronárody, jejich zem rozměřil na dědictví, v jejich stanech ubytoval izraelské kmeny. 56 Ale pokoušeli ho a vzdorovali Bohu nejvyššímu a nedbali na svědectví jeho, 57 odpadali, byli věrolomní jak otcové jejich, selhávali jako záludný luk. 58 Na posvátných návrších ho uráželi, svými modlami ho podnítili k žárlivosti. 59 Bůh se rozlítil, když to vše slyšel, velmi si zprotivil Izraele: 60 opovrhl svým příbytkem v Šílu, stanem, v němž přebýval mezi lidmi. 61 Vydal do zajetí svoji sílu, svoji čest do rukou protivníka 62 a svůj lid vydal v plen meči, proti svému dědictví vzplál prchlivostí. 63 Jejich junáky sežehl oheň, jejich panny svatebních chval nepoznaly. 64 Jejich kněží padli mečem, jejich vdovy neplakaly. 65 A pak se Panovník probudil jak ze sna, jak bohatýr rozjařený vínem, 66 zezadu bil svoje protivníky, uvedl na ně potupu věčnou. 67 Zprotivil si Josefův stan, Efrajimův kmen si nevyvolil, 68 zvolil si kmen Judův, horu Sijón, tu si zamiloval. 69 Svou svatyni vybudoval jak výšiny nebes, navěky ji založil jak zemi. 70 Davida si zvolil, svého služebníka, povolal ho ze salaší, 71 od ovcí s jehňaty ho přivedl, aby pásl Jákoba, jeho lid, Izraele, jeho dědičný díl. 72 A pásl je s bezúhonným srdcem, rukou zkušenou je vodil.

Pozoruj, lide můj, zákona mého, nakloňte uší svých k slovům úst mých. 2 Otevru v podobenství ústa svá, vypravovati budu přípovídky starobylé. 3 Co jsme slýchali i poznali, a co nám otcové naši vypravovali, 4 Nezatajíme toho před syny jejich, kteříž budoucím potomkům svým vypravovati budou chvály Hospodinovy, ano i moc jeho a divné skutky jeho, kteréž činil. 5 Neboť jest vyzdvihl svědectví v Jákobovi, a zákon vydal v Izraeli, což přikázal otcům našim, aby v známost uvodili synům svým, 6 Aby to poznal věk potomní, synové, kteříž se zroditi měli, a ti povstanouce, aby vypravovali dítkám svým, 7 Aby pokládali v Bohu naději svou, a nezapomínali se na skutky Boha silného, ale ostříhali přikázaní jeho, 8 Aby nebývali jako otcové jejich, pokolení zpurné a protivné, národ, kterýž nenapravil srdce svého, a nebyl věrný Bohu silnému duch jeho. 9 Jako synové Efraim zbrojní, ač uměle z lučiště stříleli, však v čas boje zpět se obrátili, 10 Nebo neostříhali smlouvy Boží, a v zákoně jeho zpěčovali se choditi. 11 Zapomenuli se na činy jeho, a na divné skutky jeho, kteréž jim ukázal. 12 Před otci jejich činil divy v zemi Egyptské, na poli Soan. 13 Rozdělil moře, a převedl je; učinil, aby stály vody jako hromada. 14 Vedl je ve dne v oblace, a každé noci v jasném ohni. 15 Protrhl skály na poušti, a napájel je jako z propastí velikých. 16 Vyvedl potoky z skály, a učinil, aby vody tekly jako řeky. 17 A však vždy přičíněli hříchů proti němu, a popouzeli Nejvyššího na poušti. 18 A pokoušeli Boha silného v srdci svém, žádajíce pokrmu podlé líbosti své. 19 A mluvili proti Bohu, řkouce: Zdaliž bude moci Bůh silný připraviti stůl na této poušti? 20 Aj, udeřilť jest v skálu, a tekly vody, a řeky se rozvodnily. Zdali také bude moci dáti chleba? (Ž 49,5; Mt 13,35) 3 Was wir hörten und erfuhren, was uns die Väter erzählten, (Ž 22,31; Ž 44,2) 4 das wollen wir ihren Kindern nicht verbergen, sondern dem kommenden Geschlecht erzählen: die ruhmreichen Taten des HERRN und seine Stärke, die Wunder, die er getan hat. 5 Er richtete ein Zeugnis auf in Jakob, Weisung gab er in Israel und gebot unseren Vätern, ihre Kinder das alles zu lehren, (Ž 147,19) 6 damit das kommende Geschlecht davon erfahre, / die Kinder, die noch geboren werden; sie sollen aufstehen und es ihren Kindern erzählen, 7 damit sie ihr Vertrauen auf Gott setzen, / die Taten Gottes nicht vergessen und seine Gebote bewahren 8 und nicht werden wie ihre Väter, ein Geschlecht voll Trotz und Empörung, ein Geschlecht, dessen Herz nicht fest war und dessen Geist nicht treu zu Gott hielt. 1 Eine Unterweisung Asafs. Höre, mein Volk, meine Unterweisung, neiget eure Ohren zu der Rede meines Mundes! (Ž 106,1) 2 Ich will meinen Mund auftun zu einem Spruch und Geschichten verkünden aus alter Zeit.
