1Прославяйте Господа, защото е благ, защото Неговата милост е вечна. (1 Лет 16:34; Езд 3:11; Пс 78:1; Пс 105:1; Пс 107:1; Пс 136:1; Ер 33:11)2Кой може да изрази могъществото на Господа, кой може да изрече всички похвали за Него?3Блажени са онези, които спазват Закона и постъпват праведно по всяко време. (Ис 56:1)4Господи, спомни си за мене, понеже обичаш Своя народ; спаси ме, като ми окажеш помощ, (Неем 5:19; Неем 13:14; Неем 13:22; Неем 13:31)5за да видя благоденствието на Твоите избраници, да се веселя с веселието на Твоя народ, да се хваля заедно с Твоите избраници.6Ние и нашите предци съгрешихме, извършихме беззаконие, постъпихме несправедливо. (Лев 26:40; 3 Цар 8:47; Дан 9:5)7Нашите предци не разбраха Твоите чудеса в Египет, не си спомниха многото Ти милости и възроптаха при морето, при Червеното море. (Изх 14:9)8Но Той ги спаси заради името Си, за да покаже Своето могъщество. (Ез 20:13; Ез 36:20; Ез 39:25)9Властно заповяда на Червеното море и то пресъхна. Той ги преведе по бездните като по сухо, (Изх 14:21; Ис 63:11; Наум 1:4)10спаси ги от ръката на противника и ги избави от ръката на врага.11Водите покриха враговете им, не остана нито един от тях.12Тогава израилтяните повярваха на Неговите думи, изпяха хвалебна песен за Него. (Изх 15:1)13Но скоро забравиха делата Му, не дочакаха Неговия съвет; (П Ер 3:26)14увлякоха се от лакомия в пустинята и изкусиха Бога в необитаемата местност. (Изх 16:2; Чис 11:4)15И Той изпълни това, което искаха, но изпрати болест на телата им. (Чис 11:33)16Тогава завидяха в стана на Мойсей и на Аарон, посветен на Господа. (Чис 16:1)17Земята се разтвори, погълна Датан и покри хората на Авирон. (Вт 11:6)18И огън пламна в тяхното сборище, пламък изгори нечестивите.19Направиха телец на Хорив и се поклониха на идола; (Изх 32:1; Вт 9:8)20и замениха славата на своя Бог с образа на вол, който яде трева. (Ер 2:11; Рим 1:23)21Забравиха Бога, своя Спасител, Който извърши велики дела в Египет, (Вт 32:18; Ер 2:32)22дела, достойни за учудване в земята на Хам, страшни при Червено море.23И щеше да ги унищожи, ако избраният от Него Мойсей не бе застанал пред Него в пролома да отклони яростта Му, за да не ги погуби.24После те презряха желаната земя[1], не вярваха на Неговото обещание (Чис 13:25; Вт 1:24)25и роптаеха в шатрите си, не се вслушваха в гласа на Господа.26И Той вдигна ръката Си против тях, за да ги повали в пустинята, (Лев 26:33; Ез 20:15; Ез 20:23)27да повали потомците им сред народите и да ги разсее по другите земи.28Те се присъединиха към Ваал-Фегор и ядоха жертви, принасяни на мъртви божества, (Чис 25:1; Тов 4:17)29и разгневиха Бога с делата си, и върху тях връхлетя голяма гибел.30Но стана Финеес и ги осъди, и гибелта престана. (Сир 45:23)31И това му се зачете за праведно дело от род в род за вечни времена.32И пак разгневиха Бога при водите на Мерива и заради тях Мойсей трябваше да пострада, (Изх 17:1; Чис 20:2; Пс 95:8)33защото те огорчиха духа му и той говори необмислено с устата си.34Те не изтребиха народите, както им бе заповядал Господ,35а се смесиха с езичниците и се научиха на техните постъпки; (Лев 18:3; Съд 2:1)36служиха на техните идоли, които им станаха примка. (Съд 2:11; Съд 3:5)37Синовете и дъщерите си принасяха в жертва на злите духове; (Лев 18:21; 4 Цар 17:17; Вар 4:7)38проливаха невинна кръв, кръвта на синовете и дъщерите си, които принасяха в жертва на ханаанските идоли, и земята се оскверни от кръвопролитие. (Чис 35:33)39Така се оскверниха чрез делата си, блудстваха с постъпките си.40И Господ се разгневи силно срещу Своя народ, погнуси се от Своите избраници.41Предаде ги в ръцете на езичниците и започнаха да ги владеят онези, които ги мразеха. (Съд 2:14)42Враговете им ги потискаха и те бяха сломени под тяхната власт.43Много пъти Той ги избавяше, но те Го огорчаваха с упорството си.44Но Той милостиво поглеждаше към техните страдания винаги, когато чуваше техните вопли,45и си спомняше Своя завет с тях, и се разкайваше поради голямата Си милост; (Лев 26:42)46и възбуждаше към тях състрадание у всички, които ги вземаха в плен. 1Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! (Пс 15:2)4Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them,[1] (Пс 119:132)5that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance. (Пс 105:6; Пс 105:43)6Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. (Лев 26:40; 3 Цар 8:47; Езд 9:6; Неем 1:6; Неем 9:16; Пс 79:8; Ер 3:25; Ер 14:20; Дан 9:5)7Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. (Изх 14:11; Пс 106:13; Пс 106:21)8Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power. (Изх 9:16; Ез 20:9; Ез 20:14)9He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert. (Изх 14:21; Пс 18:15; Пс 104:7; Ис 50:2; Ис 51:10; Ис 63:13)10So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy. (Изх 14:30; Пс 107:2)11And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left. (Изх 14:28; Изх 15:5)12Then they believed his words; they sang his praise. (Изх 14:31; Изх 15:1)13But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel. (Изх 15:24; Изх 16:2; Изх 17:2; Пс 78:11; Пс 107:11)14But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert; (Изх 17:2; Чис 11:4; Пс 78:18; 1 Кор 10:6; 1 Кор 10:9)15he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them. (Пс 78:29; Ис 10:16)16When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord, (Чис 16:1; Вт 33:2; Зах 14:5; Юда 1:14)17the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. (Чис 16:31; Вт 11:6)18Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. (Чис 16:35)19They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a metal image. (Изх 32:4; Вт 9:8; Д А 7:41)20They exchanged the glory of God[2] for the image of an ox that eats grass. (Ер 2:11; Рим 1:23)21They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, (Вт 32:18; Пс 78:11; Пс 106:7; Пс 106:13)22wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea. (Пс 78:51; Пс 105:23; Пс 105:27)23Therefore he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying them. (Изх 32:10; Вт 9:14; Пс 105:6; Ез 20:8; Ез 22:30)24Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise. (Чис 14:31; Вт 1:32; Вт 9:23; Зах 7:14)25They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the Lord. (Чис 14:2; Вт 1:27)26Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness, (Изх 6:8; Чис 14:30; Вт 32:40; Пс 95:11; Ез 20:6; Ез 20:15; Ез 20:23)27and would make their offspring fall among the nations, scattering them among the lands. (Пс 44:11)28Then they yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor, and ate sacrifices offered to the dead; (Чис 25:3; Ис 8:19; Ос 9:10)29they provoked the Lord to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.30Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stayed. (Чис 25:7)31And that was counted to him as righteousness from generation to generation forever. (Бит 15:6; Чис 25:10)32They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account, (Чис 20:2; Вт 1:37)33for they made his spirit bitter,[3] and he spoke rashly with his lips. (Чис 20:10; Пс 78:40; Пс 107:11; Ис 63:10)34They did not destroy the peoples, as the Lord commanded them, (Вт 7:2; Вт 7:16; Съд 1:21; Съд 1:27; Съд 2:2)35but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did. (Съд 3:5; Езд 9:2)36They served their idols, which became a snare to them. (Изх 23:33; Вт 7:16; Съд 2:3)37They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; (Вт 32:17; 4 Цар 16:3; Ис 57:5; Ез 16:20; Ез 20:26; 1 Кор 10:20)38they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. (Ис 24:5)39Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds. (Пс 73:27; Ез 20:18; Ез 20:30)40Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage; (Съд 2:14; Пс 28:9; Пс 78:59; Пс 78:62)41he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. (Неем 9:27)42Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power. (Съд 4:3; Съд 10:12)43Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity. (Лев 26:39; Съд 2:16; Пс 81:12)44Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry. (Съд 3:9; Съд 4:3; Съд 6:7; Съд 10:10)45For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love. (Лев 26:42; Пс 51:1; Пс 69:16; Пс 90:13; Пс 105:8; Пс 106:7; Ис 63:7; П Ер 3:32)46He caused them to be pitied by all those who held them captive. (3 Цар 8:50; 2 Лет 30:9; Езд 9:9; Неем 1:11; Ер 42:12)47Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. (1 Лет 16:35; Пс 107:3)48Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the Lord! (Пс 41:13; Пс 104:35)
