1Sig tak til Herren og giv ham ære! Forkynd hans undere for alle folkeslag!
1Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! (1.Mos 4,26; 1.Krøn 16,8; 1.Krøn 16,34; Salm 99,6; Salm 106,1; Salm 116,13; Salm 116,17; Salm 145,4; Salm 145,11; Es 12,4)2Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! (Salm 77,12)3Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!4Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (Salm 27,8; Salm 78,61)5Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered, (2.Mos 6,6; 2.Mos 7,4; Salm 72,18; Salm 77,11)6O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! (Salm 105,42; Salm 105,43; Salm 106,5; Salm 135,4)7He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. (Es 26,9)8He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, (5.Mos 7,9; Salm 105,42; Salm 106,45; Salm 111,5; Luk 1,72)9the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, (1.Mos 17,2; 1.Mos 22,15; 1.Mos 26,3)10which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, (1.Mos 28,13; 1.Mos 35,11)11saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.” (1.Mos 13,15; 1.Mos 15,18; Salm 78,55)12When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, (1.Mos 34,30; 5.Mos 7,7; 5.Mos 26,5; Heb 11,9)13wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,14he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, (1.Mos 12,17; 1.Mos 20,3; 1.Mos 35,5)15saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” (1.Mos 20,6; 1.Mos 26,11)16When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply[1] of bread, (1.Mos 41,54; 3.Mos 26,26; 2.Kong 8,1; Salm 104,15; Es 3,1; Ez 4,16; Hag 1,11)17he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. (1.Mos 37,28; 1.Mos 37,36; 1.Mos 45,5; 1.Mos 50,20; Ap G 7,9)18His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; (1.Mos 39,20)19until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. (1.Mos 40,20; 1.Mos 41,53; Dom 7,4)20The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free; (1.Mos 41,14; Salm 146,7)21he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions, (1.Mos 41,40)22to bind[2] his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom.23Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. (1.Mos 46,6; Salm 78,51; Salm 106,22; Ap G 7,15; Ap G 13,17)24And the Lord made his people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes. (2.Mos 1,7; 5.Mos 26,5)25He turned their hearts to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants. (2.Mos 1,8; 2.Mos 1,10; 2.Mos 9,12; Ap G 7,19; Rom 11,8)26He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. (2.Mos 3,10; 2.Mos 4,12; 4.Mos 16,5; 4.Mos 17,5)27They performed his signs among them and miracles in the land of Ham. (Salm 78,43; Salm 105,23)28He sent darkness, and made the land dark; they did not rebel[3] against his words. (2.Mos 10,21; Salm 99,7)29He turned their waters into blood and caused their fish to die. (2.Mos 7,21)30Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings. (2.Mos 8,3)31He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country. (2.Mos 8,16; 2.Mos 8,21)32He gave them hail for rain, and fiery lightning bolts through their land. (2.Mos 9,23)33He struck down their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their country. (2.Mos 9,25)34He spoke, and the locusts came, young locusts without number, (2.Mos 10,12)35which devoured all the vegetation in their land and ate up the fruit of their ground.36He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their strength. (Salm 78,51)37Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled. (2.Mos 12,35)38Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it. (2.Mos 12,23; 2.Mos 15,16)39He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night. (2.Mos 13,21; Job 36,20; Es 4,5)40They asked, and he brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. (2.Mos 16,13; Salm 78,18; Salm 78,24; Salm 78,27; Joh 6,31)41He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river. (Salm 63,1; Salm 78,15)42For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, his servant. (1.Mos 15,14; 2.Mos 2,24; Salm 105,6; Salm 105,8)43So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing. (2.Mos 15,1; Salm 105,42; Es 35,10)44And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil, (Josva 24,13; Salm 78,55)45that they might keep his statutes and observe his laws. Praise the Lord! (5.Mos 4,1; 5.Mos 4,40; Salm 78,7; Salm 104,35)
