1-2 Господи, в яростта Си не ме изобличавай и в гнева Си не ме наказвай, (Ер 10:24) 3 защото Твоите стрели се забиха в мене, и Твоята ръка тежи върху ми. (Вт 32:23; Йов 6:4) 4 Няма здраво място в плътта ми от Твоя гняв; няма мира в моите кости от греховете ми; 5 защото беззаконията ми превишиха главата ми, като тежко бреме ме притиснаха, (Пс 31:4; Ез 33:10) 6 смърдят и гноясват моите рани поради безумието ми. 7 Аз се прегърбих и съвсем се наведох, цял ден ходя натъжен; (Пс 41:10) 8 защото чреслата ми са цели възпалени, и няма здраво място в плътта ми. 9 Изнемощях и извънмерно съм съкрушен; викам от мъките на сърцето си. 10 Господи, пред Тебе са всичките ми желания, и моята въздишка не е скрита от Тебе. 11 Сърцето ми трепери; моите сили ме напуснаха, и светлината на очите ми, – и нея няма у мене. 12 Моите приятели и моите искрени отстъпиха от раните ми, и ближните ми стоят надалеч. (Йов 19:13; Йов 30:10; Пс 30:12) 13 А които търсят душата ми, турят мрежи, и които ми желаят зло, говорят за моето загиване и всеки ден козни кроят; 14 аз пък като глух не чувам и съм като ням, който не отваря устата си; (Ис 53:7; Мт 27:12; Д А 8:32) 15 и станах като човек, който не чува и няма в устата си отговор, 16 защото на Тебе, Господи, се уповавам; Ти ще чуеш, Господи, Боже мой. 17 И аз рекох: да не възтържествуват над мене (моите врагове); когато се колебае ногата ми, те се големеят над мене. 18 Близко съм да падна, и скръбта ми е винаги пред мене. 19 Беззаконието си съзнавам, съкрушавам се заради греха си. (Пс 31:5; 2 Кор 7:10) 20 А моите врагове живеят и крепнат, и ония, които ме ненавиждат без вина, се умножават; 21 и които ми връщат зло за добро, враждуват против мене, задето следвам доброто. (Пс 108:5) 22 Не ме оставяй, Господи, Боже мой, не се отдалечавай от мене; 23 побързай ми на помощ, Господи, Спасителю мой!

1 [1] Of David. Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! (Пс 37:7; Пс 73:3; Пр 3:31; Пр 23:17; Пр 24:1; Пр 24:19) 2 For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. (Йов 14:2; Йов 27:13; Пс 90:5; Пс 129:6) 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.[2] (Лев 26:5; Пс 62:8; Пс 115:9; Пр 2:21; Пр 3:5; Ис 26:4) 4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Йов 22:26; Ис 58:14; Мт 6:33; Фил 3:1; Фил 4:4) 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. (Пс 22:8; Пс 37:3; Пс 55:22; Пр 16:3; 1 Пет 5:7) 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. (Йов 11:17; Ис 58:8; Ис 58:10; Мих 7:9) 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! (Пс 37:1; Пс 62:1; Ис 30:15; Ер 12:1; П Ер 3:26) 8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. (Пс 37:7; Еф 4:26) 9 For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. (Пс 25:13; Пс 37:2; Пс 37:22; Пр 2:21; Ис 57:13; Ис 60:21) 10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. (Йов 7:10; Йов 24:24) 11 But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace. (Пс 119:165; Ис 32:17; Мт 5:5) 12 The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, (Пс 31:13; Пс 35:16) 13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming. (Йов 18:20; Пс 2:4) 14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose way is upright; (Пс 7:10; Пс 7:12) 15 their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. (1 Цар 2:4) 16 Better is the little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked. (Пр 15:16; Пр 16:8; 1 Тим 6:6) 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. (Йов 38:15; Пс 10:15; Пс 37:24; Ез 30:21) 18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever; (Пс 1:6; Пс 37:9) 19 they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance. (Йов 5:20; Пс 33:19) 20 But the wicked will perish; the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures; they vanish—like smoke they vanish away. (Пс 68:2; Пс 102:3; Ос 13:3; Мт 6:30; Як 1:11) 21 The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; (Пс 37:26) 22 for those blessed by the Lord[3] shall inherit the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off. (Пс 37:2; Пс 37:9) 23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; (1 Цар 2:9; Пс 25:12; Пс 40:2; Пс 119:5) 24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. (Пс 37:17; Пр 24:16; Мих 7:8; 2 Кор 4:9) 25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. (Йов 15:23; Пс 109:10) 26 He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing. (Вт 15:8; Вт 15:10; Пс 112:5; Пс 112:9; Мт 5:42; Лк 6:35) 27 Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. (Пс 34:14; Пс 102:28) 28 For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. (Пс 11:7; Пс 16:10; Пс 21:10; Пс 37:2; Пс 37:9; Пр 2:22; Ис 14:20) 29 The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever. (Пс 37:27) 30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. 31 The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip. (Вт 6:6; Пс 40:8; Пс 73:2; Пс 119:11; Ис 51:7; Ер 31:33; Рим 7:22) 32 The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. (Пс 10:8) 33 The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. (Пс 109:31; 2 Пет 2:9) 34 Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off. (Пс 27:14; Пс 37:9; Пс 52:5; Пс 91:8) 35 I have seen a wicked, ruthless man, spreading himself like a green laurel tree.[4] (Йов 5:3; Пс 52:8) 36 But he passed away,[5] and behold, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found. (Йов 20:5; Пс 37:10) 37 Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. (Пс 37:11; Пс 119:165; Ис 57:2) 38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the future of the wicked shall be cut off. (Йов 18:17; Пс 52:5; Пс 73:17; Пс 104:35; Пр 2:22) 39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. (Пс 3:8; Пс 9:9) 40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him. (1 Лет 5:20; Пс 11:1; Ис 31:5; Дан 3:17; Дан 3:28; Дан 6:23; Д А 12:11)
