1 Synu můj, přijmeš-li slova má, a přikázaní má schováš-li u sebe; 2 Nastavíš-li moudrosti ucha svého, a nakloníš-li srdce svého k opatrnosti; 3 Ovšem, jestliže na rozumnost zavoláš, a na opatrnost zvoláš-li; 4 Budeš-li jí hledati jako stříbra, a jako pokladů pilně vyhledávati jí: 5 Tehdy porozumíš bázni Hospodinově, a známosti Boží nabudeš; 6 Nebo Hospodin dává moudrost, z úst jeho umění a opatrnost. 7 Chová upřímým dlouhověkosti, pavézou jest chodícím v sprostnosti, 8 Ostříhaje stezek soudu; on cesty svatých svých ostříhá. 9 Tehdy porozumíš spravedlnosti a soudu, a upřímosti i všeliké cestě dobré, 10 Když vejde moudrost v srdce tvé, a umění duši tvé se zalíbí. 11 Prozřetelnost ostříhati bude tebe, a opatrnost zachová tě, 12 Vysvobozujíc tě od cesty zlé, a od lidí mluvících věci převrácené, 13 Kteříž opouštějí stezky přímé, aby chodili po cestách tmavých, 14 Kteříž se veselí ze zlého činění, plésají v převrácenostech nejhorších, 15 Jejichž stezky křivolaké jsou, anobrž zmotaní jsou na cestách svých; 16 Vysvobozujíc tě i od ženy postranní, od cizí, kteráž řečmi svými lahodí, 17 Kteráž opouští vůdce mladosti své, a na smlouvu Boha svého se zapomíná; 18 K smrti se zajisté nachyluje dům její, a k mrtvým stezky její; 19 Kteřížkoli vcházejí k ní, nenavracují se zase, aniž trefují na cestu života; 20 Abys chodil po cestě dobrých, a stezek spravedlivých abys ostříhal. 21 Nebo upřímí bydliti budou v zemi, a pobožní zůstanou v ní; 22 Bezbožní pak z země vyťati budou, a přestupníci vykořeněni budou z ní.

1 Můj synu, jestliže přijmeš mé výroky, uchováš-li mé příkazy ve svém nitru, 2 abys věnoval pozornost moudrosti a naklonil své srdce k rozumnosti, 3 jestliže přivoláš porozumění a hlasitě zavoláš na rozumnost, 4 budeš-li ji hledat jako stříbro a pátrat po ní jako po skrytých pokladech, 5 tehdy pochopíš, co je bázeň před Hospodinem, a dojdeš k poznání Boha. 6 Neboť moudrost dává Hospodin, poznání i rozumnost pochází z jeho úst. 7 Pro přímé má pohotovou pomoc, je štítem těm, kdo žijí bezúhonně, 8 chrání stezky práva a střeží cestu svých věrných. 9 Tehdy porozumíš spravedlnosti, právu a přímosti, všemu, co zanechává dobré stopy. 10 Neboť moudrost vejde do tvého srdce a poznání oblaží tvou duši. 11 Tvou stráží stane se důvtip, rozumnost tě bude chránit. 12 Ochrání tě před zlou cestou, před každým, kdo proradně mluví, 13 před těmi, kdo opouštějí přímé stezky a chodí po temných cestách, 14 kdo se radují, když páchají zlo, jásají nad zhoubnými proradnostmi, 15 jejichž stezky jsou křivolaké; jsou neupřímní na každém kroku. 16 Moudrost tě ochrání před cizí ženou, před cizinkou, která se lísá svými řečmi, 17 která opouští druha svého mládí, a na smlouvu svého Boha zapomíná. 18 Propadla smrti i se svým domem, její stopy směřují do říše stínů. 19 Nikdo z těch, kdo k ní vcházejí, se nevrátí, stezek života nedosáhne. 20 Kéž bys jen chodil po cestě dobrých a bedlivě dbal na stezky spravedlivých. 21 Neboť zemi budou obývat přímí a zůstanou v ní bezúhonní. 22 Ale svévolníci budou ze země vyťati, věrolomní budou z ní vyrváni.

Přijmi má slova

1 Přijmi prosím má slova, synu, moje příkazy jak poklad opatruj, 2 své ucho k moudrosti nakloň, srdce otevři pro rozumnost! 3 Ano, po rozumnosti volej, přivolej k sobě rozvahu. 4 Když ji jak stříbro vyhledávat budeš, pátrat po ní jak po pokladech, 5 úctě k Hospodinu tehdy porozumíš, k poznání Boha dospěješ. 6 Jen Hospodin přece dává moudrost, poznání a rozumnost pramení z jeho úst. 7 Zdravý úsudek on pro upřímné chová, štítem je pro ty, kdo žijí poctivě. 8 Drží stráž nad stezkami práva, ochraňuje cestu spravedlivých svých. 9 Spravedlnosti a právu tenkrát porozumíš, i poctivosti – všem stezkám ke štěstí. 10 Moudrost když do srdce ti vejde, vědění když tvou duši potěší, 11 prozíravost tě bude chránit, rozumnost nad tebou bude bdít.

Moudrost tě ochrání

12 Před špatnou cestou tě moudrost ochrání, před každým, kdo mluví zvráceně, 13 před těmi, kdo se přímým stezkám vyhnou, kdo kráčejí po cestách temnoty. 14 Před těmi, kdo s radostí zla se dopouštějí, kdo si v krutých zvrácenostech libují, 15 jejichž stezky jsou různě pokroucené a jejichž kroky z cesty scházejí. 16 Před cizí ženou moudrost zachrání tě, před vábivými slovy svůdkyně, 17 jež druha svého mládí opustila, na smlouvu se svým Bohem nedbajíc. 18 Její dům se chýlí k jisté smrti, její krok míří do podsvětí. 19 Kdo vejde k ní, už nevyjde více, na stezky života se nikdy nevrátí. 20 Kéž by ses vydal cestou ušlechtilých, na stezkách spravedlivých kéž bys vytrval! 21 Poctiví přece budou obývat zemi a bezúhonní v ní zůstanou. 22 Ničemové však budou ze země vymýceni, proradní z ní budou vyrváni!
