1 Přistoupili pak přední z otců Levítského pokolení k Eleazarovi knězi, a k Jozue, synu Nun, a k předním z otců pokolení synů Izraelských, 2 A mluvili k nim v Sílo, v zemi Kananejské, řkouce: Hospodin přikázal skrze Mojžíše, abyste nám dali města k přebývání, i podměstí jejich pro dobytky naše. 3 Dali tedy synové Izraelští Levítům z dědictví svého, vedlé rozkázaní Hospodinova, města tato i podměstí jejich. 4 Padl pak los čeledem Kahat, i dáno losem synům Arona kněze, Levítům, z pokolení Juda, a z pokolení Simeon, i z pokolení Beniaminova měst třinácte. 5 A jiným synům Kahat, z čeledí pokolení Efraimova, a z pokolení Danova, a z polovice pokolení Manassesova losem dáno měst deset. 6 Synům pak Gerson, z čeledí pokolení Izacharova, a z pokolení Asserova, též z pokolení Neftalímova, a z polovice pokolení Manassesova v Bázan losem dáno měst třinácte. 7 Synům Merari po čeledech jejich, z pokolení Rubenova a z pokolení Gádova, též z pokolení Zabulonova měst dvanácte. 8 Dali tedy synové Izraelští Levítům ta města i předměstí jejich, (jakož přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše,) losem. 9 A tak z pokolení synů Judových, a z pokolení synů Simeonových dána jsou města, kterýchž tuto jména jsou položena. 10 A dostal se první díl synům Aronovým, z čeledí Kahat, z synů Léví; nebo jim padl los první. 11 Dáno jest tedy jim město Arbe, otce Enakova, (jenž jest Hebron,) na hoře Juda, a předměstí jeho vůkol něho. 12 Ale pole města toho i vsi jeho dali Kálefovi synu Jefone k vládařství jeho. 13 Synům tedy Arona kněze dali město útočišťné vražedlníku, Hebron i předměstí jeho, a Lebno i předměstí jeho; 14 A Jeter s předměstím jeho, též Estemo a předměstí jeho; 15 Holon i předměstí jeho, a Dabir s podměstím jeho; 16 Také Ain s předměstím jeho, a Juta s podměstím jeho, i Betsemes a předměstí jeho, měst devět z toho dvojího pokolení. 17 Z pokolení pak Beniaminova dali Gabaon a předměstí jeho, a Gaba s předměstím jeho; 18 Též Anatot a podměstí jeho, i Almon s předměstím jeho, města čtyři. 19 Všech měst synů Aronových kněží třinácte měst s předměstími jejich. 20 Čeledem pak synů Kahat, Levítům, kteříž pozůstali z synů Kahat, (byla pak města losu jejich z pokolení Efraim,) 21 Dali jim město útočišťné vražedlníku, Sichem i předměstí jeho, na hoře Efraim, a Gázer s předměstím jeho. 22 Též Kibsaim a předměstí jeho, a Betoron s předměstím jeho, města čtyři. 23 Z pokolení pak Dan: Elteke a předměstí jeho, a Gebbeton s předměstím jeho; 24 Též Aialon a předměstí jeho, a Getremmon s podměstím jeho, města čtyři. 25 Z polovice pak pokolení Manassesova: Tanach a podměstí jeho, a Getremmon s předměstím jeho, města dvě. 26 Všech měst deset s předměstími jejich čeledem synům Kahat ostatním. 27 Synům také Gersonovým, z čeledí Levítských, z polovice pokolení Manassesova dali město útočišťné vražedlníku, Golan v Bázan a předměstí jeho, a Bozran s předměstím jeho, města dvě. 28 Z pokolení Izacharova: Kesion a podměstí jeho, a Daberet s předměstím jeho; 29 Jarmut a předměstí jeho, a Engannim s předměstím jeho, města čtyři. 30 Z pokolení pak Asserova: Mesal a předměstí jeho, též Abdon a podměstí jeho; 31 Helkat s předměstím jeho, a Rohob s podměstím jeho, města čtyři. 32 Z pokolení také Neftalímova: Město útočišťné vražedlníku, Kedes v Galilei a předměstí jeho, a Hamotdor s předměstím jeho, a Kartam s předměstím jeho, města tři. 33 Všech měst Gersonitských po čeledech jejich, třinácte měst s předměstími jejich. 34 Čeledem pak synů Merari, Levítům ostatním, dali z pokolení Zabulonova Jekonam a předměstí jeho, Karta a předměstí jeho; 35 Damna a předměstí jeho, Naalol a předměstí jeho, města čtyři. 36 Z pokolení pak Rubenova: Bozor a předměstí jeho, a Jasa a předměstí jeho; 37 Kedemot a předměstí jeho, a Mefat s podměstím jeho, města čtyři. 38 A z pokolení Gádova: Město útočišťné vražedlníku, Rámot v Galád a předměstí jeho, a Mahanaim s předměstím jeho; 39 Ezebon a podměstí jeho, Jazer s podměstím jeho, města čtyři. 40 Všech měst synů Merari po čeledech jejich, kteříž ostatní byli z čeledí Levítských, bylo podlé losu jejich měst dvanácte. 41 A tak všech měst Levítských u prostřed vládařství synů Izraelských měst čtyřidceti osm s předměstími svými. 42 Mělo pak to město jedno každé obzvláštně svá předměstí vůkol sebe, a taková byla všecka ta města. 43 Dal tedy Hospodin Izraelovi všecku tu zemi, kterouž s přísahou zaslíbil dáti otcům jejich; i opanovali ji dědičně, a bydlili v ní. 44 Dal také Hospodin jim odpočinutí se všech stran podlé všeho, jakž byl s přísahou zaslíbil otcům jejich, aniž kdo byl, ješto by ostál proti nim ze všech nepřátel jejich; všecky nepřátely jejich dal Hospodin v ruku jejich. 45 Nepominulo ani jedno slovo ze všelikého slova dobrého, kteréž mluvil Hospodin k domu Izraelskému, ale všecko se tak stalo.

— Lévijská města - Přehled měst oddělených izraelskými pokoleními kněžskému kmeni lévijců.

1 Představitelé lévijských rodů přistoupili ke knězi Eleazarovi a k Jozuovi, synu Núnovu, a k představitelům rodů izraelských pokolení. 2 Mluvili k nim v Šílu, v kenaanské zemi, takto: „Hospodin přikázal skrze Mojžíše, aby nám byla dána města k bydlení i pastviny při nich pro náš dobytek.“ 3 Izraelci dali tedy lévijcům podle Hospodinova rozkazu ze svého dědičného podílu tato města s pastvinami: 4 Los vyšel čeledím Kehatovců. Synům kněze Árona mezi lévijci bylo losem určeno třináct měst z pokolení Judova, Šimeónova a Benjamínova. 5 Zbývajícím Kehatovcům bylo losem určeno deset měst z čeledí pokolení Efrajimova, z pokolení Danova a poloviny pokolení Manasesova. 6 Geršónovcům bylo losem určeno třináct měst z čeledí pokolení Isacharova, Ašerova, Neftalíova a poloviny pokolení Manasesova v Bášanu. 7 Meraríovcům bylo určeno dvanáct měst z pokolení Rúbenova, Gádova a Zabulónova podle jejich čeledí. – 8 Izraelci určili losem lévijcům tato města i s pastvinami, jak to přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše. 9 Z pokolení Judovců a Šimeónovců dali jménem uvedená města. 10 Připadla Áronovcům z čeledí Kehatovců mezi Léviovci, protože jim padl los nejprve. 11 Dali jim Kirjat-arbu, město otce Anókova, to je Chebrón, v pohoří Judském, a pastviny kolem něho. 12 Ale pole toho města a jeho dvorce dali do trvalého vlastnictví Kálebovi, synu Jefunovu. 13 Synům kněze Árona dali jako útočištné město pro toho, kdo zabil, Chebrón i s pastvinami; dále Libnu i s pastvinami, 14 Jatír i s pastvinami a Eštemóou i s pastvinami, 15 Cholón i s pastvinami a Debír i s pastvinami, 16 Ajin i s pastvinami, Jutu i s pastvinami, Bét-šemeš i s pastvinami, devět měst z těchto dvou kmenů. – 17 Z pokolení Benjamínova: Gibeón i s pastvinami, Gebu i s pastvinami, 18 Anatót i s pastvinami a Almón i s pastvinami, čtyři města. 19 Všech měst pro Áronovce, kněží, bylo třináct, i s pastvinami. 20 Čeledím Kehatovců, lévijcům, kteří zbyli z Kehatovců, byla losem určena města z pokolení Efrajimova. 21 Jako útočištné město pro toho, kdo zabil, jim dali Šekem i s pastvinami v pohoří Efrajimském, dále Gezer i s pastvinami, 22 Kibsajim i s pastvinami a Bét-chorón i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 23 Z pokolení Danova: Elteke i s pastvinami, Gibetón i s pastvinami, 24 Ajalón i s pastvinami, Gat-rimón i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 25 Z poloviny pokolení Manasesova: Taanak i s pastvinami a Gat-rimón i s pastvinami, dvě města. 26 Všech měst pro čeledi zbývajících Kehatovců bylo deset, i s pastvinami. 27 Geršónovcům z lévijských čeledí připadlo z poloviny pokolení Manasesova jako útočištné město pro toho, kdo zabil, Gólan v Bášanu i s pastvinami; dále Beeštera i s pastvinami, dvě města. – 28 Z pokolení Isacharova: Kišjón i s pastvinami, Daberat i s pastvinami, 29 Jarmút i s pastvinami, Én-ganím i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 30 Z pokolení Ašerova: Mišál i s pastvinami, Abdón i s pastvinami, 31 Chelkat i s pastvinami a Rechób i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 32 Z pokolení Neftalíova: jako útočištné město pro toho, kdo zabil, Kedeš v Galileji i s pastvinami; dále Chamót-dór i s pastvinami a Kartan i s pastvinami, tři města. – 33 Všech měst pro Geršónovce a jejich čeledi bylo třináct, i s pastvinami. 34 Čeledím Meraríovců, zbývajícím lévijcům, připadlo z pokolení Zabulónova: Jokneám i s pastvinami, Karta i s pastvinami, 35 Dimna i s pastvinami, Nahalal i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 36 Z pokolení Rúbenova: Beser i s pastvinami; dále Jahsa i s pastvinami, 37 Kedemót i s pastvinami a Méfaat i s pastvinami, čtyři města. – 38 Z pokolení Gádova: jako útočištné město pro toho, kdo zabil, Rámot v Gileádu i s pastvinami; dále Machanajim i s pastvinami, 39 Chešbón i s pastvinami, Jaazer i s pastvinami, celkem čtyři města. – 40 Všech měst pro Meraríovce a jejich čeledi, zbývající z lévijských čeledí, bylo určeno losem dvanáct. 41 Všech lévijských měst uprostřed trvalého vlastnictví Izraelců bylo čtyřicet osm, i s pastvinami. 42 Ke každému z těchto měst patřily okolní pastviny; to platilo o každém z těchto měst. 43 Hospodin dal Izraeli celou zemi, jak se přísahou zavázal jejich otcům, že jim ji dá. Obsadili ji a usadili se v ní. 44 A Hospodin jim dal odpočinutí všudy vůkol, zcela tak, jak přisáhl jejich otcům. Žádný ze všech jejich nepřátel před nimi neobstál. Hospodin jim vydal do rukou všechny nepřátele. 45 Ani jedno ze všech dobrých slov, která Hospodin mluvil k domu izraelskému, nezapadlo: všechno se uskutečnilo.

Levitská města

1 Vůdcové levitských rodů přišli ke knězi Eleazarovi, k Jozuovi, synu Nunovu, a k rodovým vůdcům izraelských pokolení 2 v Šílu v kanaánské zemi a řekli jim: „Hospodin skrze Mojžíše přikázal, abychom dostali města k bydlení a pastviny pro náš dobytek.“^[1] 3 Synové Izraele tedy podle Hospodinova příkazu dali levitům ze svého dědictví tato města a jejich pastviny: 4 První los připadl na rody Kehatovy. Ti levité, kteří byli potomky kněze Árona, získali losem třináct měst od pokolení Juda, Šimeon a Benjamín. 5 Ostatní Kehatovi synové získali losem deset měst od pokolení Efraim a Dan a od poloviny pokolení Manases. 6 Synové Geršonovi získali losem třináct měst od pokolení Isachar, Ašer a Neftalí a od poloviny pokolení Manases v Bášanu. 7 Synové Merariho obdrželi pro své rody dvanáct měst od pokolení Ruben, Gád a Zabulon. 8 Tato města i s jejich pastvinami přidělili synové Izraele levitům losem, jak přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše. 9 Z pokolení Juda a Šimeon byla odevzdána tato jmenovitě uvedená města 10 (připadla Áronovým potomkům, Leviho synům z rodů Kehatových, neboť na ně padl první los): 11 V Judském pohoří dostali Kiriat-arbu (to jest Hebron) s okolními pastvinami (Arba byl otcem Anaka). 12 Pole a osady patřící k tomu městu ale dostal do vlastnictví Káleb, syn Jefunův. 13 Synové kněze Árona tedy dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Hebron a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Libna, 14 Jatir, Eštemóa, 15 Cholon, Debir, 16 Ajin, Juta a Bet-šemeš – celkem devět měst od těchto dvou kmenů. 17 Od pokolení Benjamín dostali tato města s jejich pastvinami: Gibeon, Geba, 18 Anatot a Almon – celkem čtyři města. 19 Áronovým synům, kněžím, tedy připadlo celkem třináct měst s pastvinami. 20 Ostatním levitským rodům ze synů Kehatových los určil tato města: Od pokolení Efraim 21 dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Šechem v pohoří Efraim a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Gezer, 22 Kibcaim a Bet-choron – celkem čtyři města. 23 Od pokolení Dan dostali tato města s pastvinami: Elteke, Gibeton, 24 Ajalon a Gat-rimon – celkem čtyři města. 25 Od poloviny pokolení Manases dostali tato města s pastvinami: Taanach a Gat-rimon – celkem dvě města. 26 Ostatním Kehatovým rodům tedy připadlo celkem deset měst s pastvinami. 27 Synové Geršonovi, další z levitských rodů, dostali od poloviny pokolení Manases jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Golan v Bášanu i s jeho pastvinami. Tak tomu bylo se všemi těmi městy.

Vše se splnilo

43 Hospodin dal Izraeli celou tu zem, o níž přísahal jejich otcům, že jim ji dá. Zmocnili se jí a usadili se v ní. 44 Hospodin jim dal odpočinout ze všech stran, přesně tak, jak odpřisáhl jejich otcům.^[2] Ze všech jejich nepřátel před nimi žádný neobstál, všechny nepřátele jim Hospodin vydal do rukou. 45 Ze všech těch dobrých slov, která Hospodin řekl domu Izraele, ani jediné neselhalo; vše se splnilo.

43 So gab der HERR Israel das ganze Land, das er ihren Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hatte. Sie nahmen es in Besitz und wohnten darin. 44 Und der HERR verschaffte ihnen Ruhe ringsum, genauso, wie er es ihren Vätern mit einem Eid zugesichert hatte. Keiner von all ihren Feinden konnte ihnen Widerstand leisten; alle ihre Feinde gab der HERR in ihre Hand. 45 Keine von all den Zusagen, die der HERR dem Haus Israel gegeben hatte, war ausgeblieben; jede war in Erfüllung gegangen.
