1Běda synům zpurným, dí Hospodin, skládajícím radu, kteráž není ze mne, a přikrývajícím ji přikrytím, ale ne z ducha mého, aby hřích k hříchu přidávali;2Kteříž chodí a sstupují do Egypta, nedotazujíce se úst mých, aby se zmocňovali v síle Faraonově, a doufali v stínu Egyptském.3Nebo síla Faraonova bude vám k hanbě, a to odpočívání v stínu Egyptském k lehkosti,4Proto že knížata jeho byli v Soan, a poslové jeho do Chanes chodili.5Všeckyť k zahanbení přivede skrze lid, kterýž jim nic neprospěje, aniž bude ku pomoci, ani k užitku, ale k hanbě toliko a k útržce.6Břímě hovad poledních v zemi nátisku a ssoužení, odkudž lev a lvíče, ještěrka a drak ohnivý létající, odnesou na hřbetě hovádek bohatství svá, a na hrbu velbloudů poklady své k lidu, kterýž jim nic neprospěje.7Nebo Egyptští nadarmo a na prázdno pomáhati budou. Pročež ohlašuji to, že by síla jejich byla s pokojem seděti.8Nyní jdi, napiš to na tabuli před očima jejich, a na knize vyrej to, aby to zůstávalo do nejposlednějšího dne, a až na věky věků,9Že lid tento zpurný jest, synové lháři, synové, kteříž nechtí poslouchati zákona Hospodinova;10Kteříž říkají vidoucím: Nemívejte vidění, a prorokům: Neprorokujte nám toho, což pravého jest; mluvte nám pochlebenství, prorokujte oklamání.11Sejděte s cesty, svozujte od stezky, nechať se vzdálí od tváří naší Svatý Izraelský.12Protož takto praví Svatý Izraelský: Proto že pohrdáte slovem tím, a doufáte ve lsti a v převrácenosti, a spoléháte na ni:13Z té příčiny bude vám tato nepravost jako zed tržená padající, a vydutí na zdi vysoké, jejíž brzké a náhlé bývá oboření.14A rozrazí ji, jako rozrážejí nádobu hrnčířskou rozbitou; neodpustíť, tak že nebude nalezena po rozražení jejím ani střepina k nabrání ohně z ohniště, anebo k nabrání vody z louže.15Nebo tak řekl Panovník Hospodin, Svatý Izraelský: Obrátíte-li se, a spokojíte-li se, zachováni budete. V utišení se a v doufání bude síla vaše. Ale nechcete.16Nýbrž říkáte: Nikoli, ale na koních utečeme. Protož utíkati budete. Na rychlých ujedeme. Ale rychlejší budou stihající vás.17Jeden tisíc před okřiknutím jednoho, a před okřiknutím pěti utíkati budete, až (jestliže však vás co pozůstane), budete zanecháni jako okleštěné dřevo na vrchu hory, a jako korouhev na pahrbku.18Protoť pak shovívá Hospodin, milost vám čině, a protoť se vyvýší, aby se smiloval nad vámi; nebo Hospodin jest Bůh spravedlivý. Blahoslavení všickni, kteříž očekávají na něj.19Lid zajisté na Sionu a v Jeruzalémě bydliti bude. Nikoli plakati nebudeš; k hlasu volání tvého bude všelijak milost činiti s tebou. Hned jakž uslyší, ohlásíť se.20A ačkoli Pán dá vám chleba úzkosti a vody ssoužení, však nebudou více odjati tobě učitelé tvoji, ale očima svýma vídati budeš učitele své,21A ušima svýma slýchati slovo tobě po zadu řkoucích: Toť jest ta cesta, choďte po ní, buď že byste se na pravo neb na levo uchýlili.22Tedy zavržete obestření rytin svých stříbrných, a oděv slitin svých zlatých; odloučíš je jako nemoc svou trpící, řka jim: Táhněte tam.23Dáť i déšť na rozsívání tvé, kterýmž bys osíval zemi, a chléb z úrody země, kterýž bude jadrný a zdárný; v ten den pásti se bude i dobytek tvůj na pastvišti širokém.24Volové také i oslové, dělající zemi, píci čistou jísti budou, kteráž opálkou a věječkou vyčištěna bývá.25Budou také na všeliké hoře vysoké, a na všelikém pahrbku vyvýšeném pramenové a potokové vod, v den porážky veliké, když padnou věže.26Bude i světlo měsíce jako světlo slunce, světlo pak slunce bude sedmernásobní, jako světlo sedmi dnů, v den, v kterýž uváže Hospodin zlámání lidu svého, a ránu zbití jeho uzdraví.27Aj, jméno Hospodinovo přichází z daleka, jehožto hněv hořící a těžká pomsta; rtové jeho naplněni jsou prchlivostí, a jazyk jeho jako oheň sžírající.28Duch pak jeho jako potok rozvodnilý, kterýž až do hrdla dosáhne, aby tříbil národy, až by v nic obráceni byli, a uzdou svíral čelisti národů.29I budete zpívati, jako když se v noci zasvěcuje slavnost, a veseliti se srdečně, jako ten, kterýž jde s píšťalkou, bera se na horu Hospodinovu, k skále Izraelově,30Když dá slyšeti Hospodin hlas důstojnosti své, a ukáže vztaženou ruku svou s hněvem prchlivosti a plamenem ohně sžírajícího, an vše rozráží i přívalem i kamenným krupobitím.31Hlasem zajisté Hospodinovým potřín bude Assur, kterýž jiné kyjem bijíval.32Ale stane se, že každé udeření holí, kterouž doloží na něj Hospodin, silně dolehne; s bubny a harfami a bitvou veselou bojovati bude proti němu.33Nebo připraveno jest již dávno peklo, také i samému králi připraveno jest. Hluboké a široké je učinil, hranic jeho, ohně a dříví mnoho; dmýchání Hospodinovo jako potoksiry je zapaluje.
— Marné naděje - Je pošetilé počítat s pomocí Egypta a nosit tam dary.
1 „Běda, synové umínění, je výrok Hospodinův, uskutečňujete záměry, ale ne moje, uzavíráte závazky, ale ne v mém duchu, vršíte hřích na hřích. 2 Odcházíte a sestupujete do Egypta, ale mých úst jste se nedoptali, záštitu hledáte u faraóna, utíkáte se do stínu Egypta. 3 Ale faraónova záštita vám bude k hanbě a utíkání do stínu Egypta k potupě. 4 Vaši velmoži jsou v Sóanu a poslové dosáhli Chánesu; 5 všichni se zklamou v lidu, který jim neprospěje, nebude jim ku pomoci ani ku prospěchu, ale k ostudě a hanbě.“ 6 Výnos o zvířatech v Negebu: Do země soužení a tísně, kde jsou lvice a lvi mezi nimi, zmije a ohnivý létající had, přivážejí Judejci na hřbetě oslů svůj majetek a na hrbech velbloudů své poklady lidu, který jim neprospěje. 7 Egyptská pomoc je prázdný přelud. — Marný útěk - Ani v útěku není záchrana. Jediná cesta je ztišit se před Všemohoucím.
8 Nyní jdi, napiš to před nimi na desku, zaznamenej do knihy a zůstane to svědectvím do posledního dne, navždy, navěky. 9 Neboť je to lid vzpurný, synové prolhaní, synové, kteří nechtějí poslouchat Hospodinův zákon. 10 Říkají vidoucím: „Nedívejte se,“ a těm, kdo mají dar vidění: „Neukazujte nám, co je správné! Jen nám pochlebujte, jen nás balamuťte! 11 Opusťte cestu, odbočte ze stezky, přestaňte se Svatým Izraele!“ 12 Proto praví Svatý Izraele toto: „Poněvadž pohrdáte tímto slovem a spoléháte na útisk a převrácenost a o ně se opíráte, 13 proto vám tato nepravost bude jako rozestupující se trhlina v bortící se nedostupné hradbě, jež se zhroutí náhle, znenadání. 14 Bude to, jako když někdo roztříští hliněný džbán napadrť, nelítostně, že se nenajde po rozbití ani střípek, aby se v něm dal přenést oheň z ohniště či nabrat voda z louže.“ 15 Neboť toto praví Panovník Hospodin, Svatý Izraele: „V obrácení a ztišení bude vaše spása, v klidu a důvěře vaše vítězství. Vy však nechcete,16 říkáte: ‚Nikoli! Utečeme na koních.‘ A vskutku budete utíkat. ‚Ujedeme na lehkonohých.‘ A vskutku vaši pronásledovatelé budou lehkonozí. 17 Jeden tisíc vás uteče před pohrůžkou jediného, před pohrůžkou pěti utečete všichni, až zůstanete jako opuštěná žerď na vrcholu hory, jako korouhev na pahorku.“ 18 Hospodin vyčkává, chce se nad vámi smilovat, vyvýší se, slituje se nad vámi. Vždyť Hospodin je Bohem práva, blaze těm, kdo ho očekávají.
— Veliký obrat - Obrátí-li se lid k Bohu, obrátí se Bůh k lidu a začne nový život.
19 Neboť lid bude sídlit na Sijónu, v Jeruzalémě. Nebudeš už nikdy plakat. Milostivě se nad tebou smiluje, až budeš úpěnlivě volat; uslyší a odpoví ti.20 Ač vám dával Panovník chléb soužení a vodu útlaku, on, tvůj učitel, už se nebude držet stranou. Na vlastní oči uzříš svého učitele21 a na vlastní uši uslyšíš za sebou slovo: „To je ta cesta, jděte po ní,“ ať budete chtít doprava nebo doleva.22 Pak prohlásíš své stříbrem potažené vytesané modly i pozlacené lité modly za nečisté a jako nečisté je rozmetáš. Řekneš jim: „Táhni!“23 A Hospodin dá déšť tvé setbě, jíž oseješ roli; chléb z úrody role bude vydatný a výživný. V onen den se bude pást tvůj dobytek na širých lukách.24 Býci a osli, obdělávající roli, budou žrát šťavnatou a slanou píci, nakypřenou lopatou a vidlemi.25 Na každé vysoké hoře a na každém vyvýšeném pahorku budou potůčky tekoucích vod, v den velkého vraždění, kdy padnou věže.26 A bude světlo bledé luny jako světlo žárného slunka a světlo slunka bude sedmkrát větší, jako světlo sedmi dnů, v den, kdy Hospodin ováže zlomeniny svého lidu a rány jemu zasazené uzdraví.
— Soud nad Asýrií - Vypínavost Asýrie nezůstane bez náležité odplaty; pro Hospodinův lid to bude důvod ke zpěvu.
27 Hle, jméno Hospodinovo přichází zdáli. Jeho planoucí hněv se mocně zvedá. Rty mu překypují hrozným hněvem, jeho jazyk je jak sžírající oheň. 28 Jeho dech je jako rozvodněný potok až k hrdlu sahající. Bude prosívat pronárody řešetem jejich šalebnosti, čelisti národů sevře uzdou svodu. 29 Dáte se do zpěvu jako v noci, kdy se zasvěcuje svátek, srdce se naplní radostí jako tomu, kdo jde za zvuku píšťal, aby vstoupil na Hospodinovu horu, ke Skále Izraele. 30 Hospodin se ohlásí svým velebným hlasem, dá pocítit svou dopadající paži v prudkém hněvu, v plameni sžírajícího ohně, blýskáním a průtrží mračen a kamenným krupobitím. 31 Ašúr, jenž jiné bil holí, zděsí se Hospodinova hlasu. 32 Každé švihnutí metlou, které mu Hospodin zasadí, dopadne za zvuku bubínků a citer; vybojuje proti němu bitvy pouhým mávnutím ruky. 33 Neboť odedávna je už připraven Tófet, žároviště hluboké a široké, i pro krále. Na jeho hranici je mnoho ohně a dříví, jako proud síry je zapálí dech Hospodinův.
1Běda vzpurným dětem! praví Hospodin. Spřádají plány, jež nejsou ze mne, vstupují do smlouvy ne s mým Duchem, a tak jen vrší hřích na hřích.2Dolů do Egypta se vydali, aniž se ptali na mé výroky. V síle faraona hledají bezpečí, do stínu Egypta se chtějí uchýlit.3Faraonovou silou však budete zklamáni, egyptský stín vás přivede do hanby!4Vaši velmoži sice byli v Soanu, vaši poslové šli do Chanesu,[1]5tím lidem ale budou všichni zklamáni, neboť jim nebude moci pomoci; nepřinese vám prospěch ani výhodu, ale jen hanbu a pohanu.6Ortel o zvířatech v Negevu: Zemí nebezpečí a soužení, kde jsou lvice a řvoucí lvi, zmije a jedovatí hadi, na hřbetech oslů vezou bohatství, na hrbech velbloudů nesou poklady lidu, který jim nemůže nijak pomoci,7Egyptu, který nezmůže vůbec nic, a proto ten národ nazývám „Nehybná obluda“.8Nyní jdi, vyryj to pro ně do tabulky, zaznamenej to do knihy, ať je to pro budoucí dny věčným svědectvím:9Toto je vzpurný lid, synové prolhaní, synové, kteří neslyší Hospodinovo učení.10Říkají vidoucím: „Nemějte vidění!“ a prorokům: „Neprorokujte nám pravdu. Říkejte nám jen lichotky a prorokujte lži!11Sejděte z cesty, odbočte ze stezky, s tím Svatým izraelským nás nechte být!“12Nuže, toto praví Svatý izraelský: Protože jste toto slovo zavrhli a věřili raději násilí a lsti, na které jste se spolehli,13proto vám bude tento hřích jako trhlina zející ve vysoké zdi, která se náhle zřítí v okamžik.14Jak hliněný džbán rozbita bude na kusy, bez milosti se roztříští, takže se nenajde mezi úlomky ani střep na žhavé uhlíky nebo k nabrání vody ze studny.15Toto praví Panovník Hospodin, Svatý izraelský: V obrácení a spočinutí je vaše bezpečí, v klidu a spolehnutí vaše vítězství; vy jste však nechtěli.16Řekli jste: „Nikoli, utečeme na koních!“ Nuže, budete muset utíkat. „Uhánět budem na rychlých vranících!“ Nuže, budou vás rychle pronásledovat.17Tisíc vás uteče, když vás jeden okřikne, když zakřičí pět, všichni prchnete,[2] až nakonec zůstanete sami jak vlajkový stožár na vrcholu hory, jako korouhev na kopci.
To je ta cesta
18Hospodin čeká, aby se nad vámi smiloval, povstane, aby se nad vámi slitoval. Hospodin je přece Bohem práva – blaze každému, kdo na něj očekává!19Sionský lide, jenž bydlíš v Jeruzalémě, více už plakat nebudeš. Jakmile zazní tvé volání, zahrne tě svou milostí. Jakmile uslyší, hned ti odpoví.20I když vám Pán dává chléb soužení a vodu poroby, tvůj Učitel však nezůstane skryt – svého Učitele na vlastní oči uvidíš!21Vydáte-li se doprava nebo doleva, vlastníma ušima za sebou uslyšíš: „To je ta cesta, jděte po ní.“22Tehdy své postříbřené sochy i pozlacené modly zavrhnete jako nečisté. Zahodíš je jako krví nasáklé hadry a řekneš: „Pryč s tím!“23On také sešle déšť tvému semeni, které rozsíváš na zemi, a pokrm, který země urodí, bude vydatný a bohatý. Tvůj dobytek se bude v ten den pást na širých pastvinách.24Býci i osli, kteří obdělávají zemi, se budou krmit pící šťavnatou, čechranou vidlemi a lopatou.25Z každé mohutné hory a vysokého návrší potečou potoky vody v onen den veliké porážky, kdy padnou pevnosti.26Světlo měsíce bude jako světlo sluneční a světlo slunce bude sedmkrát jasnější – jako světlo sedmi dní – v onen den, kdy Hospodin ováže zranění svého lidu a uzdraví rány, jež jim zasadil.
Hůl na Asýrii
27Hle, Hospodinovo jméno zdálky přichází, jeho hněv plane, zvedá se hustý dým. Jeho rty jsou plné zuření, jeho jazyk jak oheň sžíravý,28jeho dech jako řeka v povodni, která až k bradě vystoupí – přichází přesít národy sítem marnosti, sevřít jim čelisti uzdou bloudění.29Tehdy vám bude do zpěvu, jako když se v noci zasvěcují slavnosti; v srdci budete veselí, jako když průvod s píšťalami stoupá na Hospodinovu horu, ke Skále Izraele.30Hospodin bude burácet svým majestátním hlasem a ukáže, jak jeho paže doléhá s hrozným hněvem, s plameny sžírajícího ohně, s průtrží, lijákem a kroupami.31Hospodin svým hlasem vyděsí Asýrii, svou holí ji bude bít.32Ke každému úderu metly, který jí Hospodin zasadí, budou hrát tamburíny a citery – pouhým máchnutím ruky je v bitvě porazí.33Už dávno je připraveno tofetské ohniště,[3] dost hluboké a široké i pro krále! Hranice narovnána, ohně i dříví dostatek. Jako proud síry zapálí ji Hospodinův dech!
1Wehe den störrischen Söhnen - Spruch des HERRN -, / die einen Plan ausführen, der nicht von mir ist,
und ein Trankopfer ausgießen, / aber ohne meinen Geist, / um Sünde auf Sünde zu häufen! (2Kr 18,21; Iz 31,1; Jr 2,18)2Die sich auf den Weg hinunter nach Ägypten machen - / meinen Mund hatten sie nicht befragt -,
um sich zu bergen im Schutz des Pharao und Zuflucht zu suchen / im Schatten Ägyptens.3Doch wird euch der Schutz des Pharao zur Schande / und die Zuflucht im Schatten Ägyptens zur Schmach.4Wenn auch seine Fürsten in Zoan waren / und seine Boten Hanes erreichten,5so wurde doch jeder zuschanden an dem Volk, / das ihnen nicht nützt,
das nicht zur Hilfe und nicht zum Nutzen dient, / sondern nur zur Schande und gar zum Hohn.6Ausspruch über die Tiere des Negeb:
Durch ein Land der Not und der Bedrängnis - / Löwin und Löwe kommen daher, / Giftschlange und fliegender Seraf -
tragen sie auf dem Rücken der Esel / ihren Reichtum
und auf dem Höcker der Kamele / ihre Schätze zu einem Volk, das nichts nützt.7Ägypten ist nichtig und nutzlos ist, was sie helfen. / Darum nenne ich das: Rahab sind sie! Untätigkeit!
Verschriftung der Prophetie und Mahnung
8Nun komm, schreib es auf eine Tafel bei ihnen, / zeichne es in ein Schriftstück auf, / damit es für einen künftigen Tag Zeuge sei auf ewig!9Denn es ist ein trotziges Volk, verlogene Söhne, / Söhne, die nicht hören wollten auf die Weisung des HERRN. (Iz 1,4)10Die zu den Sehern sagten: Seht nicht! / und zu denen, die schauten: Erschaut für uns nicht, was richtig ist!
Sagt uns Schmeichelndes! / Schaut Täuschungen! (Am 2,12; Am 7,12)11Weicht ab vom rechten Weg, biegt ab vom Pfad, / lasst uns in Ruhe mit dem Heiligen Israels!12Darum - so spricht der Heilige Israels: / Weil ihr dieses Wort verworfen,
auf Gewalt und Arglist vertraut / und darauf euch gestützt habt,13darum wird für euch diese Schuld / wie ein von oben sich öffnender und sich verbreiternder Riss / in einer hoch aufragenden Mauer sein, / deren Zusammenbruch plötzlich, urplötzlich kommt.14Er zerbricht sie wie beim Zerbrechen eines Töpferkruges, / zerschmettert ohne Mitleid,
und unter seinen zerschmetterten Stücken findet sich keine Scherbe, / um Feuer vom Herd zu holen / oder Wasser aus der Zisterne zu schöpfen.15Denn so spricht der GOTT, der Herr, der Heilige Israels:
Durch Umkehr und Ruhe werdet ihr gerettet, / im Stillhalten und Vertrauen liegt eure Kraft.
Doch ihr habt nicht gewollt, /16sondern gesagt:
Nein, auf Pferden wollen wir fliehen. / Darum sollt ihr fliehen.
Ihr habt gesagt: Auf schnellem Pferd wollen wir reiten. / Darum werden eure Verfolger schnell sein.17Tausende fliehen vor dem Drohen eines Einzigen, / vor dem Drohen von fünfen ihr alle,
bis ihr übrig seid, / wie eine Signalstange auf dem Gipfel des Berges / und wie ein Feldzeichen auf dem Hügel. (Dt 32,30)
Heilswende für das Volk auf dem Zion
18Darum wartet der HERR darauf, / euch gnädig zu sein,
darum erhebt er sich, / um sich eurer zu erbarmen.
Denn der HERR ist ein Gott des Rechts; / selig alle, die auf ihn warten. (Ž 2,12)19Ja, du Volk auf dem Zion, / das in Jerusalem wohnt, / ganz sicher wirst du nicht mehr weinen.
Ganz sicher wird er dir gnädig sein auf die Stimme deines Hilfegeschreis hin; / sobald er es hört, antwortet er dir.20Der Herr wird euch Brot der Not und Wasser der Bedrängnis geben / und deine Lehrer werden sich nicht mehr verbergen,
sondern deine Augen werden stets deine Lehrer sehen. /21Deine Ohren werden ein Wort hinter dir hören:
Dies ist der Weg, geht ihn, / auch wenn ihr nach rechts oder links abbiegen wolltet!22Dann werdet ihr deine mit Silber überzogenen Schnitzbilder / und deine mit Gold umkleideten Gussbilder verunreinigen.
Du wirst sie wie Unrat wegwerfen. / Hinaus!, wirst du dazu sagen.23Dann wird er Regen geben deiner Saat, / die du auf den Acker gesät hast,
und das Brotkorn, der Ertrag des Ackers, / wird üppig und fett sein. / Deine Herden werden an jenem Tag auf weiten Wiesen weiden.24Die Rinder und Esel, die den Acker bearbeiten, / fressen Futter mit Sauerampfer, / das man mit Schaufel und Gabel ausstreut.25Auf jedem hohen Berg und auf jedem aufragenden Hügel / werden Bäche, Wasserläufe sein
am Tag des großen Mordens, / wenn Türme einstürzen. (Iz 2,14)26Dann wird das Licht des weißen Mondes wie das Licht der heißen Sonne und das Licht der heißen Sonne wird siebenfach hell sein wie das Licht von sieben Tagen, an dem Tag, an dem der HERR den Bruch seines Volkes verbindet und die Wunde seines Schlages heilt.
Gerichtstheophanie gegen Assur
27Siehe, der Name des HERRN kommt aus der Ferne, / brennend sein Zorn, / gewaltig an Wucht.
Seine Lippen sind voller Wut, / seine Zunge ist wie fressendes Feuer, (Iz 29,6)28sein Atem wie ein reißender Fluss, / der bis an den Hals reicht.
Er siebt Nationen im Sieb des Wahns - / er legt einen Zaum, der in die Irre führt, / an die Kinnbacken der Völker.29Das Lied wird für euch sein wie nachts, / wenn man sich fürs Fest heiligt,
und die Freude des Herzens, / wie wenn man unter Flötenspiel einhergeht, / um auf den Berg des HERRN zu kommen, zum Felsen Israels.30Dann lässt der HERR die Pracht seiner Stimme hören / und er lässt sehen, wie sein Arm niederfährt
mit grimmigem Zorn und einer Flamme fressenden Feuers - / Gewitter, Unwetter und Hagelschlag. (Iz 29,6; Iz 30,27)31Ja, vor der Stimme des HERRN wird Assur erschrecken; / mit dem Stock schlägt er zu.32Und es wird geschehen: Jeder Schlag mit der Zuchtrute, / die der HERR auf ihn niederfahren lässt,
geschieht mit Pauken und Leiern. / In Kämpfen mit Schwung des Armes kämpft er gegen ihn.[1]33Ja, längst schon ist eine Brandstätte vorbereitet, / auch für den König ist sie errichtet, / man hat sie tief und weit gemacht;
ihr Scheiterhaufen hat Feuer und Holz in Fülle, / der Atem des HERRN brennt darin wie ein Schwefelstrom.
1“Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance,[1] but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; (Iz 1,2; Iz 1,4; Iz 25,7; Iz 29,15)2who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! (Iz 31,1; Iz 36,6)3Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation. A Rebellious People

The Lord Will Be Gracious
18Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
