1Byla nade mnou ruka Hospodinova, a vyvedl mne Hospodin v duchu, a postavil mne u prostřed údolí, kteréž bylo plné kostí.2I provedl mne skrze ně vůkol a vůkol, a aj, bylo jich velmi mnoho v tom údolí, a aj, byly velmi suché.3I řekl mi: Synu člověčí, mohly-li by ožiti kosti tyto? I řekl jsem: Panovníče Hospodine, ty víš.4V tom řekl mi: Prorokuj o těch kostech a rci jim: Kosti suché, slyšte slovo Hospodinovo.5Toto praví Panovník Hospodin kostem těmto: Aj, já uvedu do vás ducha, abyste ožily.6A dám na vás žily, a učiním, že zroste na vás maso, a otáhnu vás koží; dám, pravím, do vás ducha, abyste ožily, i zvíte, že já jsem Hospodin.7Tedy prorokoval jsem tak, jakž mi rozkázáno bylo. I stal se zvuk, když jsem já prorokoval, a aj, hřmot, když se přibližovaly kosti jedna k druhé.8I viděl jsem, a aj, žily a maso na nich se ukázalo, i koží potaženy byly po vrchu, ale ducha žádného nebylo v nich.9I řekl mi: Prorokuj k duchu, prorokuj, synu člověčí, a rci duchu: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Ode čtyř větrů přiď, duchu, a věj na tyto zmordované, ať oživou.10Tedy prorokoval jsem, jakž mi rozkázal. I všel do nich duch, a ožili, a postavili se na nohách svých, zástup velmi veliký.11I řekl mi: Synu člověčí, kosti tyto jsou všecken dům Izraelský. Aj, říkají: Uschly kosti naše, a zhynula čáka naše, jižť jest po nás.12Protož prorokuj a rci jim: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Aj, já otevru hroby vaše, a vyvedu vás z hrobů vašich, lide můj, a uvedu vás do země Izraelské.13I zvíte, že já jsem Hospodin, když otevru hroby vaše, a vyvedu vás z hrobů vašich, lide můj.14A dám Ducha svého do vás, abyste ožili, a osadím vás v zemi vaší, i zvíte, že já Hospodin mluvím i činím, dí Hospodin.15Opět stalo se slovo Hospodinovo ke mně, řkoucí:16Ty pak synu člověčí, vezmi sobě dřevo jedno, a napiš na něm: Judovi, a synům Izraelským, tovaryšům jeho. Zatím vezma dřevo druhé, napiš na něm: Jozefovi dřevo Efraimovo, a všechněm synům Izraelským, tovaryšům jeho.17I spojž je sobě jedno k druhému v jedno dřevo, aby byla jako jedno v ruce tvé.18A když mluviti budou k tobě synové lidu tvého, řkouce: Což nám neoznámíš, co ty věci znamenají:19Mluv k nim: Takto praví panovník Hospodin: Aj, já vezmu dřevo Jozefovo, kteréž jest v ruce Efraimově, a pokolení Izraelských, tovaryšů jeho, a přiložím je s ním k dřevu Judovu, a učiním je dřevem jedním, i budou jedno v ruce mé.20A když budou ta dřeva, na kterýchž jsi psal, v ruce tvé před očima jejich,21Tedy mluv k nim: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Aj, já vezmu syny Izraelské z prostřed národů těch, kamž odešli, a shromáždě je odevšad, uvedu je do země jejich.22A učiním je, aby byli národem jedním v té zemi na horách Izraelských, a král jeden bude nad nimi nade všemi králem. A nebudou více dva národové, aniž se již více děliti budou na dvoje království.23Aniž se budou poškvrňovati více ukydanými bohy svými, a ohavnostmi svými, ani jakými přestoupeními svými, i vysvobodím je ze všech obydlí jejich, v nichž hřešili, a očistím je. I budou mým lidem, a já budu jejich Bohem.24A služebník můj David bude králem nad nimi, a pastýře jednoho všickni míti budou, aby v soudech mých chodili, a ustanovení mých ostříhali, i činili je.25I budou bydliti v té zemi, kterouž jsem byl dal služebníku svému Jákobovi, v níž bydlili otcové vaši. Budou, pravím, v ní bydliti oni i synové jejich, i synové synů jejich až na věky, a David služebník můj knížetem jejich bude na věky.26Nadto učiním s nimi smlouvu pokoje; smlouva věčná bude s nimi. A rozsadím je, i rozmnožím je, a postavím svatyni svou u prostřed nich na věky.27Bude i příbytek můj mezi nimi, a budu jejich Bohem, a oni budou lidem mým.28I zvědí národové, že jsem já Hospodin, jenž posvěcuji Izraele, když bude svatyně má u prostřed nich na věky.
— Údolí suchých kostí - I suché kosti je Hospodin schopen probudit k novému životu. Stejně probudí k novému - životu i svůj lid proti všemu lidskému očekávání.
1 Spočinula na mně ruka Hospodinova. Hospodin mě svým duchem vyvedl a postavil doprostřed pláně, na níž bylo plno kostí,2 a provedl mě kolem nich. A hle, na té pláni bylo velice mnoho kostí a byly velice suché.3 I otázal se mne: „Lidský synu, mohou tyto kosti ožít?“ Odpověděl jsem: „Panovníku Hospodine, ty to víš.“4 Tu mi řekl: „Prorokuj nad těmi kostmi a řekni jim: Slyšte, suché kosti, Hospodinovo slovo! 5 Toto praví Panovník Hospodin těmto kostem: Hle, já do vás uvedu ducha a oživnete.6 Dám na vás šlachy, pokryji vás svalstvem, potáhnu vás kůží a vložím do vás ducha a oživnete. I poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin.“7 Prorokoval jsem tedy, jak mi bylo přikázáno. A zatímco jsem prorokoval, ozval se hluk, nastalo dunění a kosti se přibližovaly jedna ke druhé.8 Viděl jsem, jak je najednou pokryly šlachy a svaly a navrch se potáhly kůží, avšak duch v nich ještě nebyl.9 Tu mi řekl: „Prorokuj o duchu, lidský synu, prorokuj a řekni mu: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Přijď, duchu, od čtyř větrů a zaduj na tyto povražděné, ať ožijí!“10 Když jsem prorokoval, jak mi přikázal, vešel do nich duch a oni ožili. Postavili se na nohy a bylo to převelmi veliké vojsko. 11 Potom mi řekl: „Lidský synu, tyto kosti, to je všechen dům izraelský. Hle, říkají: ‚Naše kosti uschly, zanikla naše naděje, jsme ztraceni.‘12 Proto prorokuj a řekni jim: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Hle, já otevřu vaše hroby a vyvedu vás z vašich hrobů, můj lide, a přivedu vás do izraelské země.13 I poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin, až otevřu vaše hroby a vyvedu vás z hrobů, můj lide.14 Vložím do vás svého ducha a oživnete. Dám vám odpočinutí ve vaší zemi. I poznáte, že já, Hospodin, jsem to vyhlásil i vykonal, je výrok Hospodinův.“
— Izrael a Juda budou opět sjednoceni - Izraelské kmeny, dříve nesvorné, se opět sjednotí pod vládou nového Davida a Hospodin s nimi uzavře věčnou smlouvu pokoje.
15 I stalo se ke mně slovo Hospodinovo:16 „Ty, lidský synu, slyš. Vezmi si jedno dřevo a napiš na ně: ‚Judovi a synům izraelským, jeho spojencům.‘ Pak vezmi druhé dřevo a napiš na ně: ‚Josefovi,‘ to je dřevo Efrajimovo a celého domu izraelského, jeho spojenců.17 Přilož jedno k druhému a budeš je mít za jedno dřevo; budou v tvé ruce jedním celkem.18 Až se tě synové tvého lidu zeptají: ‚Nepovíš nám, co to pro nás znamená?‘,19 promluv k nim: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: ‚Hle, já vezmu dřevo Josefovo, které je v ruce Efrajimově a izraelských kmenů, jeho spojenců, přidám k němu dřevo Judovo a učiním je dřevem jedním a budou v mé ruce jedno.‘20 Až budou ta dřeva, na která jsi psal, v tvé ruce před jejich očima,21 promluvíš k nim: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Hle, já vezmu syny Izraele zprostřed pronárodů, kamkoli odešli, shromáždím je ze všech stran a přivedu je do jejich země.22 Učiním z nich jediný národ v zemi, na izraelských horách, a jediný král bude králem všech. Nebudou to už dva národy a nebudou už rozděleni na dvě království.23 Nebudou se už poskvrňovat svými hnusnými a ohyzdnými modlami ani žádnými svými nevěrnostmi. Zachráním je ze všech míst, kde sídlili a ve kterých hřešili, očistím je a budou mým lidem a já jim budu Bohem.24 David, můj služebník, bude nad nimi králem a jediným pastýřem všech, budou se řídit mými řády, budou zachovávat má nařízení a jednat podle nich.25 Budou sídlit v zemi, kterou jsem dal Jákobovi, svému služebníku, v níž sídlili vaši otcové. Budou v ní sídlit oni i jejich synové a synové jejich synů navěky a David, můj služebník, bude jejich knížetem navěky.26 Uzavřu s nimi smlouvu pokoje; bude to věčná smlouva s nimi, dám jim ji a rozmnožím je a v jejich středu zřídím svou svatyni navěky.27 Můj příbytek bude nad nimi a já jim budu Bohem a oni budou mým lidem.28 I poznají pronárody, že já Hospodin jsem ten, kdo posvěcuje Izraele, až má svatyně bude navěky v jejich středu.“
1Spočinula na mně ruka Hospodinova. Hospodin mě svým Duchem odvedl pryč a postavil mě doprostřed údolí plného kostí.2Prováděl mě mezi nimi kolem dokola a hle – celá ta pláň jimi byla poseta a byly úplně vyschlé.3„Synu člověčí,“ řekl mi, „mohou ty kosti ožít?“ „Panovníku Hospodine,“ odpověděl jsem, „to víš ty.“4Tehdy mi řekl: „Prorokuj o těchto kostech a řekni jim: Suché kosti, slyšte slovo Hospodinovo!5Toto praví Panovník Hospodin těmto kostem: Hle, já do vás přivedu ducha, abyste ožily.6Dám na vás šlachy a pokryji vás masem, potáhnu vás kůží a vložím do vás ducha, abyste ožily. Tehdy poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin.“7Prorokoval jsem tedy, jak mi bylo přikázáno. A zatímco jsem prorokoval, náhle se ozval hluk: kosti se s rachotem začaly připojovat jedna ke druhé.8Viděl jsem, jak se pokrývají šlachami a masem a jak se svrchu potahují kůží. Ducha však v sobě neměly.9Tehdy mi řekl: „Prorokuj k duchu. Prorokuj, synu člověčí, a řekni mu – Tak praví Panovník Hospodin: Přijď, duchu, ze čtyř stran a dechni do těchto pobitých, ať ožijí!“10A když jsem prorokoval, jak mi přikázal, vstoupil do nich duch a ožili. Postavili se na nohy a byl jich obrovský, nesčíslný šik.11„Synu člověčí,“ řekl mi potom, „tyto kosti jsou celý dům Izraele. Říkají: ‚Naše kosti vyschly, nemáme žádnou naději, jsme ztraceni.‘12Nuže, prorokuj a řekni jim – Tak praví Panovník Hospodin: Hle, já otevřu vaše hroby; z těch hrobů vás vyvedu, lide můj, a přivedu vás do izraelské země.13Tehdy poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin – až otevřu vaše hroby a z těch hrobů vás vyvedu, lide můj.14Vložím do vás svého Ducha, abyste ožili, a dám vám spočinout ve vaší zemi. Tehdy poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin. Jak jsem řekl, tak učiním, praví Hospodin.“
Jeden národ, jeden král
15Dostal jsem slovo Hospodinovo:16„Synu člověčí, vezmi si kus dřeva a napiš na něj: ‚Dřevo Judovo a jeho druhů ze synů Izraele‘. Pak vezmi jiný kus a napiš na něj: ‚Dřevo Josefovo (totiž Efraimovo) a jeho druhů z celého domu Izraele‘.17Pak je spoj jedno s druhým v jediné dřevo, ať jsou v tvé ruce jedno.18Až se tě tví krajané zeptají: ‚Nepovíš nám, co to má podle tebe znamenat?‘19řekni jim – Tak praví Panovník Hospodin: ‚Hle, já vezmu dřevo Josefovo (které je v ruce Efraimově) a jeho druhů z izraelských kmenů a přiložím je ke dřevu Judovu. Spojím je v jediné dřevo a budou v mé ruce jedno.‘20Podrž ta popsaná dřeva před jejich očima21a řekni jim – Tak praví Panovník Hospodin: Hle, já vezmu syny Izraele z národů, kam odešli. Shromáždím je z celého okolí a přivedu je zpátky do vlasti.22V té zemi, na izraelských horách, je učiním jediným národem a všem jim bude kralovat jeden král. Už to nebudou dva národy, už se nebudou dělit na dvě království.23Už se nebudou poskvrňovat svými hnusnými modlami, svými nechutnými obrazy a všemi ostatními hříchy. Zachráním je odevšad, kde žili a hřešili, a očistím je. Budou mým lidem a já budu jejich Bohem.24Můj služebník David bude jejich králem a všichni budou mít jediného pastýře. Budou se řídit mými zákony, dodržovat má ustanovení a jednat podle nich.25Budou bydlet v zemi, kterou jsem dal svému služebníku Jákobovi a ve které bydleli jejich otcové. Budou v ní bydlet oni, jejich děti i děti jejich dětí až navěky a vůdcem jim navěky bude můj služebník David.26Uzavřu s nimi smlouvu pokoje; bude to věčná smlouva s nimi.[1] Zasadím je a rozmnožím a uprostřed nich zřídím navěky svou svatyni.27Můj příbytek bude mezi nimi, já budu jejich Bůh a oni budou můj lid.28Tehdy národy poznají, že já jsem Hospodin, Posvětitel Izraele, až bude má svatyně navěky uprostřed nich.“
1Die Hand des HERRN legte sich auf mich und er brachte mich im Geist des HERRN hinaus und versetzte mich mitten in die Ebene. Sie war voll von Gebeinen. (Ez 1,3; Ez 3,22)2Er führte mich ringsum an ihnen vorüber und siehe, es waren sehr viele über die Ebene hin; und siehe, sie waren ganz ausgetrocknet.3Er fragte mich: Menschensohn, können diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Ich antwortete: GOTT und Herr, du weißt es. (Zj 7,13)4Da sagte er zu mir: Sprich als Prophet über diese Gebeine und sag zu ihnen: Ihr ausgetrockneten Gebeine, hört das Wort des HERRN!5So spricht GOTT, der Herr, zu diesen Gebeinen: Siehe, ich selbst bringe Geist in euch, dann werdet ihr lebendig. (Gn 2,7; Iz 26,19)6Ich gebe euch Sehnen, umgebe euch mit Fleisch und überziehe euch mit Haut; ich gebe Geist in euch, sodass ihr lebendig werdet. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.7Da sprach ich als Prophet, wie mir befohlen war; und noch während ich prophetisch redete, war da ein Geräusch: Und siehe, ein Beben: Die Gebeine rückten zusammen, Bein an Bein. (Ez 3,12)8Und als ich hinsah, siehe, da waren Sehnen auf ihnen, Fleisch umgab sie und Haut überzog sie von oben. Aber es war kein Geist in ihnen.9Da sagte er zu mir: Rede als Prophet zum Geist, rede prophetisch, Menschensohn, sag zum Geist: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Geist, komm herbei von den vier Winden! Hauch diese Erschlagenen an, damit sie lebendig werden! (Zj 7,1)10Da sprach ich als Prophet, wie er mir befohlen hatte, und es kam der Geist in sie. Sie wurden lebendig und sie stellten sich auf ihre Füße - ein großes, gewaltiges Heer. (Gn 2,7; Ž 104,30; Ez 2,2; Ř 8,11; Zj 11,11; Zj 20,4)11Er sagte zu mir: Menschensohn, diese Gebeine sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, sie sagen: Ausgetrocknet sind unsere Gebeine, unsere Hoffnung ist untergegangen, wir sind abgeschnitten. (Iz 53,8; Pl 3,54)12Deshalb tritt als Prophet auf und sag zu ihnen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich öffne eure Gräber und hole euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern herauf. Ich bringe euch zum Ackerboden Israels. (Iz 26,19; Da 12,2; Mt 27,52)13Und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, wenn ich eure Gräber öffne und euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern heraufhole.14Ich gebe meinen Geist in euch, dann werdet ihr lebendig und ich versetze euch wieder auf euren Ackerboden. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. Ich habe gesprochen und ich führe es aus - Spruch des HERRN. (Ez 2,2; Ez 39,29)
Symbolische Handlung von der zukünftigen Einheit des Gottesvolkes
15Das Wort des HERRN erging an mich:16Du, Menschensohn, nimm dir ein Holz und schreib darauf: Juda und die mit ihm verbündeten Israeliten! Dann nimm dir ein anderes Holz und schreib darauf: Josef, Holz Efraims, und das ganze mit ihm verbündete Haus Israel! (Za 11,7)17Dann füge sie dir, eins zum anderen, zu einem einzigen Holz zusammen, sodass sie eins werden in deiner Hand!18Und wenn die Söhne deines Volkes dich fragen: Willst du uns nicht erklären, was du da hast?,19dann antworte ihnen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich, ja ich nehme das Holz Josefs, das in der Hand Efraims ist, und der mit ihm verbündeten Stämme Israels und gebe es auf das Holz Judas. Ich mache sie zu einem einzigen Holz und sie werden eins in meiner Hand. (Za 11,7)20Die Hölzer, auf die du geschrieben hast, sollst du vor ihren Augen in deiner Hand halten.21Dann sag zu ihnen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich, ja ich nehme die Söhne Israels aus den Nationen heraus, wohin sie gegangen sind; ich sammle sie von allen Seiten und bringe sie auf ihren Ackerboden. (Ez 34,13; Ez 36,24)22Ich mache sie im Land, auf den Bergen Israels, zu einer einzigen Nation. Und ein einziger König soll König für sie alle sein. Sie werden nicht länger zwei Nationen sein und sich nie mehr in zwei Königreiche teilen. (Iz 11,11; Jr 3,18; Ez 34,23)23Sie werden sich nicht mehr unrein machen durch ihre Götzen und Gräuel und durch all ihre Untaten. Ich befreie sie von aller Sünde, die sie in ihrer Untreue begangen haben, und ich mache sie rein. Dann werden sie mir Volk sein und ich, ich werde ihnen Gott sein.[1] (Ez 11,20)24Mein Knecht David wird König über sie sein und sie werden alle einen einzigen Hirten haben. Sie werden meinen Rechtsentscheiden folgen und auf meine Satzungen achten und nach ihnen handeln. (Ez 34,23; J 10,16)25Sie werden in dem Land wohnen, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe und in dem eure Väter gewohnt haben. Sie und ihre Kinder und Kindeskinder werden auf ewig darin wohnen und mein Knecht David wird auf ewig ihr Fürst sein. (Jr 17,25; Ez 28,25; Jl 4,20)26Ich schließe mit ihnen einen Friedensbund; es soll ein ewiger Bund mit ihnen sein. Ich werde sie aufrichten und zahlreich machen. Ich werde mitten unter ihnen auf ewig mein Heiligtum errichten (Iz 54,10; Jr 31,31; Ez 16,60; Ez 34,25)27und über ihnen wird meine Wohnung sein. Ich werde ihnen Gott sein und sie, sie werden mir Volk sein. (Lv 26,11; Ez 11,20; Ez 24,27; Ez 43,7; Zj 21,3)28Und die Nationen werden erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, es bin, der Israel heiligt, wenn mein Heiligtum auf ewig in ihrer Mitte ist. (Ez 36,23)

(Ez 1,3; Ez 3,12)2And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.3And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” (Dt 32,39; Ez 2,1; J 5,21; 1K 15,35)4Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. (Ez 6,2; J 5,28)5Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath[2] to enter you, and you shall live. (Gn 2,7)6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” (Ez 6,7; Ez 37,8)7So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling,[3] and the bones came together, bone to its bone. (Ez 37,5)9Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” (Ez 37,3; Ez 37,4; Da 7,2; Da 11,4; Zj 7,1)10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. (Ez 37,7; Zj 11,11)11Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ (Iz 49,14; Pl 3,54; Ez 33,10; Ez 37,3)12Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. (Iz 26,19; Ez 36,24; Ez 37,4; Ez 37,21; Ez 37,25; Oz 13,14)13And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. (Ez 6,7)14And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. I Will Be Their God; They Shall Be My People
15The word of the Lord came to me:16“Son of man, take a stick[4] and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ (Gn 48,13; Gn 48,19; Nu 17,2; 2Pa 11,12; 2Pa 11,16; 2Pa 15,9; 2Pa 30,11; 2Pa 30,18; Ez 2,1; Oz 5,3; Oz 5,5; Za 10,6)17And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. (Iz 11,13; Ez 35,10; Ez 37,22; Ez 37,24)18And when your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’ (Ez 12,9; Ez 33,2)19say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah,[5] and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand. (Ez 37,16; Ez 37,17)20When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes, (Ez 12,3)21then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. (Ez 11,17; Ez 36,24; Ez 37,25)22And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. (Jr 50,4; Ez 6,2; Ez 34,24; Ez 35,10; Ez 37,17; Ez 37,24)23They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings[6] in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,2And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.3And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live?
