1Nechciť pak, abyste nevěděli, bratří, že otcové naši všickni pod oblakem byli, a všickni moře přešli,2A všickni v Mojžíše pokřtěni jsou v oblace a v moři,3A všickni týž pokrm duchovní jedli,4A všickni týž nápoj duchovní pili. Pili zajisté z duchovní skály, kteráž za nimi šla; a ta skála byl Kristus.5Ale ne ve mnohých z nich zalíbilo se Bohu, nebo zhynuli na poušti.6Ty pak věci za příklad nám býti mají k tomu, abychom nebyli žádostivi zlého, jako i oni žádali.7Protož nebuďte modláři, jako někteří z nich, jakož psáno jest: Posadil se lid, aby jedl a pil, a vstali, aby hrali.8Aniž smilněme, jako někteří z nich smilnili, a padlo jich jeden den třimecítma tisíců.9Ani pokoušejme Krista, jako někteří z nich pokoušeli, a od hadů zhynuli.10Ani repcete, jako i někteří z nich reptali, a zhynuli od záhubce.11Toto pak všecko u figuře dálo se jim, a napsáno jest k napomenutí našemu, kteříž jsme již na konci světa.12A protož kdo se domnívá, že stojí, hlediž, aby nepadl.13Pokušení vás nezachvátilo, než lidské. Ale věrnýť jest Bůh, kterýž nedopustí vás pokoušeti nad vaši možnost, ale způsobíť s pokušením také i vysvobození, abyste mohli snésti.14Protož, moji milí bratří, utíkejtež modlářství.15Jakožto opatrným mluvím. Vy suďte, co pravím.16Kalich dobrořečení, kterémuž dobrořečíme, zdaliž není společnost krve Kristovy? A chléb, kterýž lámeme, zdaliž není společnost těla Kristova?17Nebo jeden chléb, jedno tělo mnozí jsme; všickni zajisté z jednoho chleba jíme.18Pohleďte na Izraele podle těla. Zdaliž ti, kteříž jedí oběti, nejsou účastníci oltáře?19Což pak tedy dím? Že modla jest něco? Anebo že modlám obětované něco jest? Nikoli.20Ale toto pravím, že, což obětují pohané, ďáblům obětují, a ne Bohu. Nechtělť bych pak, abyste vy byli účastníci ďáblů.21Nebo nemůžete kalicha Páně píti a kalicha ďáblů; nemůžete účastníci býti stolu Páně a stolu ďáblů.22Čili k hněvu popouzíme Pána? Zdali silnější jsme nežli on?23Všecko mi sluší, ale ne všecko jest užitečné; všecko mi sluší, ale ne všecko vzdělává.24Žádný nehledej svých věcí, ale jeden každý toho, což jest bližního.25Všecko, což se v masných krámích prodává, jezte, nic se nevyptávajíce pro svědomí.26Nebo Páněť jest země i plnost její.27Pozval-liť by vás pak kdo z nevěřících k stolu, a chcete jíti, vše, cožkoli bylo by vám předloženo, jezte, nic se nevyptávajíce pro svědomí.28Pakli by vám někdo řekl: Toto jest modlám obětované, nejezte pro toho, jenž oznámil, a pro svědomí. Páně zajisté jest země i plnost její.29Svědomí pak pravím ne tvé, ale toho druhého. Nebo proč by měla svoboda má potupena býti od cizího svědomí?30A poněvadž já s díků činěním požívám, proč mi se rouhají příčinou toho, z čehož já díky činím?31Protož buďto že jíte, nebo pijete, anebo cožkoli činíte, všecko k slávě Boží čiňte.32Bez úrazu buďte i Židům i Řekům i církvi Boží,33Jakož i já ve všem líbím se všechněm, nehledaje v tom svého užitku, ale mnohých, aby spaseni byli.
1 Chtěl bych vám připomenout, bratří, že naši praotcové byli všichni pod oblakovým sloupem, všichni prošli mořem,2 všichni byli křtem v oblaku a moři spojeni s Mojžíšem,3 všichni jedli týž duchovní pokrm4 a pili týž duchovní nápoj; pili totiž z duchovní skály, která je doprovázela, a tou skálou byl Kristus.5 A přece se většina z nich Bohu nelíbila; vždyť ‚poušť byla poseta jejich těly‘.6 To vše se stalo nám na výstrahu, abychom nezatoužili po zlém jako oni.7 A také nebuďte modláři jako někteří z nich, jak je psáno: ‚Usadil se lid, aby jedl a pil, a potom povstali k tancům.‘8 Ani se neoddávejme smilstvu jako někteří z nich, a padlo jich za jeden den třiadvacet tisíc.9 A také nechtějme zkoušet Pána, jako to dělali někteří z nich, a hynuli od hadího uštknutí,10 ani nereptejte jako někteří z nich, a byli zahubeni Zhoubcem.11 To, co se jim stalo, je výstražný obraz a bylo to napsáno k napomenutí nám, které zastihl přelom věků.12 A proto ten, kdo si myslí, že stojí, ať si dá pozor, aby nepadl.13 Nepotkala vás zkouška nad lidské síly. Bůh je věrný: nedopustí, abyste byli podrobeni zkoušce, kterou byste nemohli vydržet, nýbrž se zkouškou vám připraví i východisko a dá vám sílu, abyste mohli obstát. 14 A proto, moji milovaní, utíkejte před modlářstvím.15 Mluvím k vám jako k rozumným lidem; posuďte sami, co říkám:16 Není kalich požehnání, za nějž děkujeme, účastí na krvi Kristově? A není chléb, který lámeme, účastí na těle Kristově?17 Protože je jeden chléb, jsme my mnozí jedno tělo, neboť všichni máme podíl na jednom chlebu.18 Pohleďte na Izraelský lid: Nespojuje ty, kteří jedí oběti, společenství oltáře?19 Co tím chci říci? Že pokrm obětovaný modlám něco znamená? Nebo že modla něco znamená?20 Nikoli, nýbrž že to, co pohané obětují, obětují démonům, a ne Bohu. Nechci, abyste vešli ve společenství s démony.21 Nemůžete pít kalich Páně i kalich démonů. Nemůžete mít účast na stolu Páně i na stolu démonů.22 Chceme snad popudit Pána k žárlivosti? Jsme snad silnější než on?
— Ohled na druhé
23 ‚Všecko je dovoleno‘ – ano, ale ne všecko prospívá. ‚Všecko je dovoleno‘ – ano, ale ne všecko přispívá ke společnému růstu.24 Nikdo ať nemyslí sám na sebe, nýbrž ať má ohled na druhého!25 Jezte všechno, co se prodává v masných krámech, a pro své svědomí se nepotřebujete na nic ptát.26 ‚Hospodinova je země i její plnost.‘27 Pozve-li vás někdo z nevěřících a chcete tam jít, jezte všechno, co vám předloží, a pro své svědomí se na nic neptejte.28 Kdyby vám však někdo řekl: „Toto bylo obětováno božstvům,“ nejezte kvůli tomu, kdo vás na to upozornil, a pro svědomí –29 nemyslím vaše svědomí, nýbrž svědomí toho druhého. Proč by moje svoboda měla být souzena cizím svědomím?30 Jestliže něco přijímám s vděčností, proč mám být odsuzován za to, zač vzdávám díky?31 Ať tedy jíte či pijete či cokoli jiného děláte, všecko čiňte k slávě Boží.32 Nebuďte kamenem úrazu ani Židům, ani Řekům, ani církvi Boží,33 já se také snažím všem vyjít vstříc. Nehledám svůj vlastní prospěch, nýbrž prospěch mnohých, aby byli spaseni.
1Nechci bratři, abyste nevěděli, co se stalo s našimi otci. Všichni byli zastíněni oblakem a všichni prošli mořem.[1]2Všichni byli křtem v oblaku a moři spojeni s Mojžíšem.3Všichni jedli tentýž duchovní pokrm[2]4a všichni pili tentýž duchovní nápoj[3] (pili totiž z duchovní skály, která je provázela, a tou skálou byl Kristus).5Ve většině z nich ale Bůh nenašel zalíbení – vždyť „byli pobiti na poušti“.[4]6To vše se stalo nám pro výstrahu. Proto nepropadejme zlé lačnosti tak jako kdysi oni.[5]7Také nebuďte modláři jako někteří z nich, jak je psáno: „Lid se posadil, aby jedl a pil, a pak vstali, aby se povyrazili.“[6]8Také nesmilněme, jako někteří z nich smilnili a v jediný den jich padlo třiadvacet tisíc.[7]9Také nepokoušejme Krista,[8] jako někteří z nich pokoušeli a byli zahubeni hady.[9]10Také nereptejte, jako někteří z nich reptali a byli zahubeni zhoubcem.[10]11To všechno se jim stalo pro výstrahu a bylo to zapsáno pro poučení nám, kdo jsme se octli na konci věků.12Kdo si tedy myslí, že pevně stojí, ať dává pozor, aby nepadl.13Jak vidíte, nezmocnilo se vás pokušení, které by pro lidi nebylo běžné. Ale Bůh je věrný! Nedovolí, abyste byli pokoušeni nad své možnosti; uprostřed zkoušky vám poskytne východisko, abyste mohli obstát.14A tak, moji milovaní, utíkejte před modlářstvím.15Mluvím jako k rozumným lidem; sami posuďte, co říkám.16Kalich požehnání, za který děkujeme – není to snad společenství Kristovy krve? Chléb, který lámeme – není to snad společenství Kristova těla?17Jako je jeden chléb, tak jsme jedno tělo. I když je nás mnoho, sdílíme jeden chléb.18Všimněte si tělesného Izraele: copak ti, kdo jedí z obětí, nesdílejí společenství oltáře?19Co se tu snažím říci? Že maso obětované modlám něco znamená? Anebo že modla něco znamená?20Nikoli. Říkám však, že pohané nepřinášejí své oběti Bohu, ale démonům. A já nechci, abyste měli co společného s démony.21Nemůžete pít kalich Páně i kalich démonů; nemůžete mít podíl na stolu Páně i na stolu démonů!22Nebo snad chceme Pána popouzet k žárlivosti?[11] Jsme snad silnější než on?
Svoboda a zodpovědnost
23„Všechno smím“ – budiž, ale ne všechno je prospěšné; všechno smím, ale ne všechno pomáhá.[12]24Nikomu ať nejde o vlastní prospěch, ale o prospěch toho druhého.25Jezte, cokoli se prodává na masném trhu, a na nic se kvůli svědomí nevyptávejte,26vždyť „Hospodinova je země i všechno na ní.“[13]27Když vás někdo nevěřící pozve a vám se chce jít, jděte. Jezte, cokoli vám nabídnou,[14] a na nic se kvůli svědomí nevyptávejte.28Kdyby vám ale někdo řekl: „Tohle bylo zasvěceno bohům,“ pak to nejezte. Mějte ohled na toho, kdo vás upozornil, a na svědomí.29Nemluvím ovšem o tvém svědomí, ale o svědomí toho druhého. „Proč by ale mou svobodu mělo určovat cizí svědomí?30Vždyť ten pokrm jím s vděčností! Proč bych měl být odsuzován kvůli něčemu, za co vzdávám díky?“31Nuže – ať už jíte nebo pijete, ať už děláte cokoli, všechno to dělejte k Boží slávě.32Nebuďte kamenem úrazu Židům ani Řekům ani církvi Boží.33Vždyť i já vždycky vycházím všem vstříc, neboť nehledám vlastní prospěch, ale prospěch mnohých, aby byli spaseni.

Unvereinbarkeit von Herrenmahl und Götzenopfermahl
14Darum, meine Geliebten, meidet den Götzendienst! (1J 5,21)15Ich rede doch zu verständigen Menschen; urteilt selbst über das, was ich sage!16Ist der Kelch des Segens, über den wir den Segen sprechen, nicht Teilhabe am Blut Christi? Ist das Brot, das wir brechen, nicht Teilhabe am Leib Christi? (1K 11,24)17Ein Brot ist es. Darum sind wir viele ein Leib; denn wir alle haben teil an dem einen Brot. (Sk 2,42; Ř 12,5; 1K 12,12)18Schaut auf das irdische Israel: Haben die, welche von den Opfern essen, nicht teil am Altar? (Lv 7,14; Nu 18,8; Dt 18,1; 1K 9,13)19Was meine ich damit? Dass Götzenopferfleisch wirklich etwas ist? Oder dass ein Götze wirklich etwas ist? (1K 8,4)20Nein, aber was man dort opfert, opfert man den Dämonen und nicht Gott. Ich will jedoch nicht, dass ihr Gemeinschaft mit Dämonen habt. (Ž 106,37)21Ihr könnt nicht den Kelch des Herrn trinken und den Kelch der Dämonen. Rücksicht auf das Gewissen des Anderen beim Verzehr von Götzenopferfleisch
23Alles ist erlaubt - aber nicht alles nützt. Alles ist erlaubt - aber nicht alles baut auf.[1] (1K 6,12)24Denkt dabei nicht an euch selbst, sondern an die anderen! (Ř 15,2; Fp 2,4)25Alles, was auf dem Fleischmarkt verkauft wird, das esst, ohne aus Gewissensgründen nachzuforschen.26Denn dem Herrn gehört die Erde und was sie erfüllt.
