1 De David. Ne t’irrite pas ╵contre les méchants! Ne jalouse pas ╵ceux qui font le mal!^[1] (Ps 9:1) 2 Car, rapidement, ╵comme l’herbe aux champs, ╵ils seront fauchés et se faneront ╵comme la verdure. 3 Mets en l’Eternel ╵toute ta confiance! ╵Fais ce qui est bien, et, dans le pays, ╵tu demeureras ╵et tu jouiras ╵de bons pâturages ╵en sécurité. 4 En Dieu, mets ta joie et il comblera ╵les vœux de ton cœur. 5 C’est à l’Eternel ╵qu’il te faut remettre ╵ta vie tout entière. Aie confiance en lui ╵et il agira. 6 Il fera paraître ╵ta justice ╵comme la lumière, et ton droit ╵comme le soleil ╵à midi. 7 Demeure en silence ╵devant l’Eternel. ╵Attends-toi à lui, ne t’irrite pas ╵contre ceux qui réussissent ╵dans leurs entreprises, en mettant en œuvre ╵de mauvais desseins. 8 Laisse la colère, ╵calme ton courroux, ne t’irrite pas, ╵car, en fin de compte, ╵tu ferais le mal. 9 Or, qui fait le mal ╵sera retranché: mais ceux qui comptent sur l’Eternel ╵auront le pays ╵comme possession. 10 D’ici peu de temps, ╵fini le méchant! Tu auras beau le chercher: ╵il ne sera plus. 11 Mais ceux qui sont humbles^[2] ╵auront le pays ╵comme possession^[3], et ils jouiront ╵d’une grande paix. (Mt 5:5) 12 Le méchant complote ╵pour faire du tort au juste, il grince des dents ╵contre lui. 13 Pourtant l’Eternel ╵se moque de lui, car il voit venir ╵le jour de sa perte. 14 Les méchants tirent l’épée, ils bandent leur arc pour tuer le pauvre ╵et le défavorisé et pour égorger ╵tous les gens qui suivent ╵la voie droite. 15 Mais leur propre épée ╵leur transpercera le cœur, et quant à leurs arcs, ╵ils seront brisés. 16 Le peu que possède ╵celui qui est juste vaut bien mieux que la richesse ╵de nombreux méchants. 17 Les méchants verront ╵leur pouvoir brisé, mais l’Eternel reste ╵le soutien des justes. 18 L’Eternel tient compte ╵de ce qu’est la vie ╵des gens sans reproche^[4], et leur patrimoine ╵demeure à jamais. 19 Pour eux, pas de honte ╵au temps du malheur, et, dans les jours de famine ╵ils auront de quoi se rassasier. 20 Les méchants périssent et les ennemis de l’Eternel ╵sont comme les fleurs des prés: ils disparaîtront; ╵comme une fumée, ╵ils s’évanouiront. 21 Le méchant emprunte ╵mais il ne rend pas; le juste a pitié, ╵il est généreux. 22 Ceux que Dieu bénit ╵auront le pays ╵comme possession^[5], mais ceux qu’il maudit ╵seront retranchés. 23 Lorsque la conduite ╵de quelqu’un lui plaît, l’Eternel lui donne ╵d’affermir sa marche ╵dans la vie. 24 Il peut trébucher, ╵mais il ne s’écroule pas: l’Eternel le tient ╵par la main. 25 Depuis ma jeunesse ╵jusqu’à mon âge avancé, jamais je n’ai vu ╵celui qui est juste ╵être abandonné, ni ses descendants ╵mendier leur pain. 26 Tout au long des jours, ╵il a compassion ╵et il prête aux autres. Ses enfants seront ╵en bénédiction. 27 Evite le mal, ╵accomplis le bien: tu demeureras ╵pour toujours. 28 Car l’Eternel aime la droiture, et il n’abandonne pas ╵ceux qui lui sont attachés; mais les malfaisants ╵seront supprimés^[6], la postérité ╵de tous les méchants ╵sera retranchée; 29 tandis que les justes ╵auront le pays ╵comme possession. Ils l’habiteront ╵éternellement. 30 Des paroles sages ╵sortent de la bouche ╵de ceux qui sont justes, et leur langue parle, ╵selon la droiture. 31 Ils ont dans leur cœur ╵la Loi de leur Dieu, et ils ne trébuchent pas. 32 Le méchant épie le juste: il cherche à le mettre à mort. 33 L’Eternel ╵ne le livre pas en son pouvoir. Il ne le laissera pas ╵être condamné ╵dans un jugement. 34 Attends-toi à l’Eternel, ╵règle ta conduite ╵selon ce qu’il a prescrit: il t’honorera ╵par la possession ╵du pays. Tu verras comment ╵tous les malfaisants ╵seront retranchés. 35 J’ai vu le méchant, ╵dans sa violence, croître comme un arbre florissant ╵bien enraciné ╵sur son sol natal. 36 Puis je suis passé par là^[7]: ╵voici qu’il n’est plus. Et j’ai eu beau le chercher, ╵il est introuvable. 37 Considère l’homme intègre, oui, observe l’homme droit: alors tu constateras ╵que l’homme de paix ╵a un avenir. 38 Au contraire les rebelles ╵seront détruits tous ensemble, et les méchants n’auront plus ╵aucun avenir. 39 Le salut des justes ╵vient de l’Eternel, et il est leur forteresse ╵aux jours de détresse. 40 Il leur vient en aide ╵et il les délivre; il les fait échapper aux méchants ╵et les sauve car ils ont cherché ╵leur refuge en lui.

1 Von David. Entrüste dich nicht über die Übeltäter, beneide nicht die, welche Böses tun! (Pr 23:17; Pr 24:19) 2 Denn wie das Gras werden sie schnell verdorren und wie das grüne Kraut verwelken. (Ps 92:8; Ps 129:6) 3 Vertraue auf den HERRN und tue Gutes; wohne im Land und hüte Treue; (1P 4:19) 4 und habe deine Lust am HERRN, so wird er dir geben die Bitte deines Herzens. (Lc 11:9; 1Jn 3:22) 5 Befiehl dem HERRN^[1] deinen Weg und vertraue auf ihn, so wird er handeln 6 und wird deine Gerechtigkeit hervortreten lassen wie das Licht und dein Recht wie den Mittag. (Jb 11:17; Is 58:8) 7 Schweige vor dem HERRN und harre auf ihn! Entrüste dich nicht über den, dessen Weg gelingt, über den Mann, der böse Pläne ausführt! (Ps 27:14; La 3:25) 8 Lass ab vom Zorn und lass den Grimm! Entrüste dich nicht! ⟨Es führt⟩ nur zum bösen ⟨Handeln⟩. 10 Noch kurze ⟨Zeit⟩, und der Gottlose ist nicht mehr; und siehst du dich um nach seiner Stätte, so ist er nicht ⟨mehr da⟩. (Jb 20:5) 11 Aber die Sanftmütigen werden das Land besitzen und werden ihre Lust haben an Fülle von Heil^[2]. (Dt 5:33; Ps 25:13; Is 57:13; Mt 5:5)

12 Der Gottlose sinnt gegen den Gerechten, und mit seinen Zähnen knirscht er gegen ihn. (Ps 35:16) 13 Der Herr lacht über ihn, denn er sieht, dass sein Tag kommt. (Ps 2:4; Is 2:12) 14 Die Gottlosen haben das Schwert gezogen und ihren Bogen gespannt, um zu fällen den Elenden und Armen, hinzuschlachten die, die aufrichtig wandeln. (Ps 68:3) 21 Der Gottlose borgt und zahlt nicht zurück; der Gerechte aber ist gütig und gibt. 23 Vom HERRN her werden eines Mannes Schritte gefestigt, und an seinem Weg hat er Gefallen; (Ps 40:3; 1P 5:10) 24 fällt er, so wird er doch nicht hingestreckt, denn der HERR stützt seine Hand. (Ps 94:18; Ps 145:14; Pr 24:16) 25 Ich bin jung gewesen und bin alt geworden, doch nie sah ich einen Gerechten verlassen, noch seine Nachkommen um Brot betteln; (He 13:5) 26 immer^[3] ist er gütig und leiht, und seine Nachkommen ⟨werden⟩ zum Segen. 30 Der Mund des Gerechten spricht Weisheit aus, und seine Zunge redet Recht; (Pr 10:20) 31 die Weisung seines Gottes ist in seinem Herzen, seine Schritte werden nicht wanken. (Dt 6:6; Ps 40:9; Is 51:7) 32 Der Gottlose lauert auf den Gerechten und sucht, ihn zu töten; (Ps 56:7; Lc 6:7) 33 ⟨doch⟩ der HERR lässt ihn nicht in seiner Hand und lässt ihn nicht verurteilen, wenn man ihn richtet. 34 Harre auf den HERRN und halte seinen Weg ein, und er wird dich erhöhen, das Land zu besitzen. 35 Ich habe einen Gottlosen gesehen, gewalttätig und^[6] sich erhebend wie eine üppige Zeder^[7]; 36 und man ging vorbei, siehe, da war er nicht mehr; und ich suchte ihn, doch er war nicht zu finden. (Jb 20:5) 37 ^[8] Achte auf den Rechtschaffenen und sieh auf den Redlichen^[9]; denn die Zukunft für einen ⟨solchen⟩ Mann ist Frieden^[10]; 38 die ⟨von Gott⟩ Abgefallenen^[11] aber werden allesamt vertilgt, die Zukunft^[12] der Gottlosen wird abgeschnitten. 39 Doch die Hilfe^[13] der Gerechten ⟨kommt⟩ vom HERRN, der ist ihre Bergfestung zur Zeit der Not; (Ps 3:9; Ps 9:10; Ps 28:7; Ps 62:2)

40 und der HERR wird ihnen helfen und sie retten^[14]; er wird sie retten^[15] von den Gottlosen und wird ihnen Hilfe bringen^[16], denn sie haben sich bei ihm geborgen. (Ps 34:20)

1 Don’t be upset because of sinful people. Don’t be jealous of those who do wrong. 2 Like grass, they will soon dry up. Like green plants, they will soon die. 3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live in the land and enjoy its food. 4 Find your delight in the LORD. Then he will give you everything your heart really wants. 5 Commit your life to the LORD. Here is what he will do if you trust in him. 6 He will make the reward for your godly life shine like the dawn. He will make the proof of your honest life shine like the sun at noon. 7 Be still and wait patiently for the LORD to act. Don’t be upset when other people succeed. Don’t be upset when they carry out their evil plans. 8 Turn away from anger and don’t give in to wrath. Don’t be upset, because that only leads to evil. 9 Sinful people will be destroyed. But those who put their hope in the LORD will receive the land. 10 In a little while, there won’t be any more sinners. Even if you look for them, you won’t be able to find them. 11 But those who are free of pride will be given the land. They will enjoy peace and success. 12 Sinful people make plans to harm those who do what is right. They grind their teeth at them. 13 But the Lord laughs at those who do evil. He knows the day is coming when he will judge them. 14 Sinners pull out their swords. They bend their bows. They want to kill poor and needy people. They plan to murder those who lead honest lives. 15 But they will be killed by their own swords. Their own bows will be broken. 16 Those who do what is right may have very little. But it’s better than the wealth of many sinners. 17 The power of those who are evil will be broken. But the LORD takes good care of those who do what is right. 18 Those who are without blame spend their days in the LORD’s care. What he has given them will last for ever. 19 When trouble comes to them, they will have what they need. When there is little food in the land, they will still have plenty. 20 But sinful people will die. The LORD’s enemies may be like flowers in the field. But they will be swallowed up. They will disappear like smoke. 21 Sinful people borrow and don’t pay back. But those who are godly give freely to others. 22 The LORD will give the land to those he blesses. But he will destroy those he curses. 23 The LORD makes secure the footsteps of the person who delights in him, 24 Even if that person trips, he won’t fall. The LORD’s hand takes good care of him. 25 I once was young, and now I’m old. But I’ve never seen godly people deserted. I’ve never seen their children begging for bread. 26 The godly are always giving and lending freely. Their children will be a blessing. 27 Turn away from evil and do good. Then you will live in the land for ever. 28 The LORD loves those who are honest. He will not desert those who are faithful to him. Those who do wrong will be completely destroyed. The children of sinners will die. 29 Those who do what is right will be given the land. They will live in it for ever. 30 The mouths of those who do what is right speak words of wisdom. They say what is honest. 31 God’s law is in their hearts. Their feet do not slip. 32 Those who are evil hide and wait for godly people. They want to kill them. 33 But the LORD will not leave the godly in their power. He will not let them be found guilty when they are brought into court. 34 Put your hope in the LORD. Live as he wants you to. He will honour you by giving you the land. When sinners are destroyed, you will see it. 35 I saw a mean and sinful person. He was doing well, like a green tree in its own land. 36 But he soon passed away and was gone. Even though I looked for him, I couldn’t find him. 37 Consider honest people who are without blame. People who seek peace will have a tomorrow. 38 But all sinners will be destroyed. Those who are evil won’t have a tomorrow. 39 The LORD saves those who do what is right. He is their place of safety when trouble comes. 40 The LORD helps them and saves them. He saves them from sinful people because they go to him for safety.
