3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness[1] is revealed, the son of destruction,[2] (Da 7:25; Da 8:25; Da 11:36; Mt 23:15; Joh 17:12; Eph 5:6; 2Th 2:8; 1Ti 4:1; Re 13:5)

3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[1] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 Don’t let anyone trick you in any way. That day will not come until people rise up against God. It will not come until the man of sin appears. He is a marked man. He is headed for ruin.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
