2 Thessalonians 2:4

English Standard Version

4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. (Isa 14:14; Eze 28:2) 

New International Version

4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 

New International Reader’s Version

4 He will oppose everything that is called God. He will oppose everything that is worshipped. He will give himself power over everything. He will set himself up in God’s temple. He will announce that he himself is God. 

King James Version

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
