1 Ein Psalm Davids, als er vor seinem Sohn Absalom floh. (2Sam 15,14) 2 Ach HERR, wie zahlreich sind meine Feinde! 6 Ich legte mich nieder und schlief; ich bin wieder erwacht, denn der HERR hält mich. (Spr 3,24) 7 Ich fürchte mich nicht vor den Zehntausenden des Volkes, die sich ringsum gegen mich gelagert haben. (Ps 90,7; Röm 8,31) 8 Steh auf, o HERR! Hilf mir, mein Gott! Denn du schlägst alle meine Feinde auf den Kinnbacken, zerbrichst die Zähne der Gottlosen. 1 Ein Psalm Davids aus der Zeit, als er vor seinem Sohn Absalom floh. 2 HERR, ich habe so viele Feinde und meine Gegner sind so zahlreich! (2Sam 15,12; Ps 69,5) 3 So viele sagen über mich: »Gott wird ihn nicht retten.«^[1] (Ps 22,8; Ps 71,11) 4 Doch du, HERR, umgibst mich mit deinem Schutz, du bist meine Ehre und richtest mich auf. (Ps 5,13; Ps 27,5; Ps 28,7; Ps 62,8)

5 Ich rufe zum HERRN, und er antwortet mir von seinem heiligen Berg. (Ps 4,4; Ps 34,5; Ps 99,9) 6 Ich legte mich nieder, um zu schlafen, und erwachte in Sicherheit, denn der HERR behütete mich. (3Mo 26,6; Ps 4,9; Ps 139,17; Spr 3,24)

7 Ich fürchte mich nicht vor zehntausend Feinden, die mich von allen Seiten umzingeln. (Ps 23,4; Ps 27,3; Ps 118,10) 8 Erhebe dich, HERR! Rette mich, mein Gott, denn du schlägst meinen Feinden ins Gesicht und zerschmetterst die Zähne der Gottlosen. 9 Ja, der HERR hilft uns. Gib deinem Volk deinen Segen! 1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; (2Sam 15,12; 2Sam 15,14; 2Sam 18,31) 2 many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” ^[1] (2Sam 16,8; Ps 71,11) 3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 1 LORD, I have so many enemies! So many people are rising up against me! 2 Many are saying about me, ‘God will not save him.’ 3 LORD, you are like a shield that keeps me safe. You bring me honour. You help me win the battle. 4 I call out to the LORD. He answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep. I wake up again, because the LORD takes care of me. 6 I won’t be afraid even though tens of thousands attack me on every side. 7 LORD, rise up! My God, save me! Strike all my enemies in the face. Break the teeth of sinful people. 8 LORD, you are the one who saves. May your blessing be on your people.
